Grover's POV

Disgust filled every pore of my being as I observed the rowdy crowd of fangirls and even fanboys surround Luke like mindless zombies going for brains.

The news about Luke thrashing three of the best fighters in school had spread like wildfire. The fact that he had managed to beat the three of them all at once made his popularity rise even more.

I had a very good feeling that it had been Luke who had spread the news. He probably had some underling spread it to a group of noisy fangirls, knowing that the fangirls wouldn't be able to keep their mouth shut.

However, the person who spread the news very conveniently left out the part where Luke had almost killed someone while sparring.

"Hey, chill down bro. You look like you're ready to go right up to him and rip his throat right out of his neck," Nico's voice came from behind me.

"I am ready to kill him," I said through gritted teeth, glaring deadly daggers at Luke and his crowd of wannabe Lukes.

"Don't mess with him, Grover. He's dangerous. He would beat me in a flash if we ever fought for real," Nico's grave voice pierced through the fog of disgust and rage that was clouding my judgement.

"Are you serious?" I asked, pure disbelief lacing my voice as I stared at him with eyes as wide as a frog's.

Nico was one of the best swordsman I know. If even he is admitting to that fact so easily, it told me a lot.

Luke was on a whole new level. He was far above Nico in terms of skill, mental prowess, experience, speed, power and many other areas.

Nico would never so easily say that Luke would be able to beat him if that wasn't the case.

"Is there really no chance for anyone to beat him?" I asked, not wanting to believe that no one could actually beat him.

The thought that he deserved to be so damn cocky and arrogant, the thought that he was that good in what he did and still be such a fucking bastard sickened me to the very core of my being.

"There is one, but for the good of both of us, I hope they don't ever spar or even meet," Nico said, his eyes faraway as he seemed to think about something.

"Why?" I pressed forward after a few seconds of silence between the two of us. My question broke him out of his train of thoughts and he focused in on me again.

"Because all Hades would break lose if that happens," He told me, his tone low and soft, as though whatever that will happen if Luke and whoever that person met scared him.

Silence ensued for the next few seconds. There were no words to be said- his point had been sent across. Avoid Luke.

"Hey guys! What's going on? Why the heavy atmosphere?" Travis' cheery and sly voice floated through the air, snapping both of us out of the mood.

We both turned our heads to see Travis, Connor, Katie and Thalia walking towards us.

"Just talking about a certain bastard, that's all," I said, my voice dripping with bitterness. They caught sight of the crowd and as soon as their eyes landed on Luke, their faces turned grim.

"How's Annabeth and Percy?" Nico asked, directing his question to Thalia.

"Annabeth is still sleeping. Percy has disappeared off the radar," Thalia said, her face etched with worry for the both of them.

An abnormally high piercing scream erupted from the crowd, making us all wince. We immediately shifted our attention to the crowd, ready to help whoever was in trouble.

We all sighed in exasperation and annoyance when we saw that the scream had come from a girl who managed to hug Luke.

"Let's get out of here. This is a sight for sore eyes," Katie huffed and stormed away from the crowd towards the canteen. We willingly fell in step with her, eager to leave the stupidity of the general population behind with Luke.

"Gods, they're so annoying and so, so utterly and amazingly stupid," Thalia groaned, slamming her palm onto the table as she sat down.

The sound echoed throughout the mostly empty canteen. The people who were in the canteen stared at us in apprehension, casting quick glances at us before quickly going back to what they were doing.

"Thalia, don't scare everyone else here," Nico said.

"There's hardly anyone here anyway. They're all out there ogling over that son of a bitch," Thalia said loudly, once again scaring the rest of the people in the canteen. I could see a few of them packing their bags and scurrying towards the exit, unwilling to risk incurring Thalia's wrath.

"Thalia," Nico sighed and looked at her with a pleading look. The rest of us would have found the sight a little amusing if it hadn't been for the fact that Luke was the whole reason of this cursed situation.

Thalia looked like she wanted to say more but when she saw Nico's pleading look, she held back her tongue and fell into silence.

"Does anyone know what Percy talked to Mr Brunner about yesterday? He came out looking pretty shaken and pale." Nico asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"No idea, but it must be bad. I've never seen Percy that close to hysteria before. He always managed to be calm, or at least keep his composure and not look weak," I said.

"Ten bucks it has something to do with Luke. Again," Travis commented darkly.

None of us tried to bet against him. We all more or less could guess that Luke

Suddenly, the doors to the canteen swung open and a wide-eyed Leo appeared, looking frantically left and right. When his eyes landed on us, he immediately shouted in a hurried voice.

"You have to come here quickly! Luke's found Annabeth!" His hurried and urgent voice reverberated all over the canteen. When we heard it, we immediately stood up and ran towards where we last spotted Luke and his crowd.

When we reached there, what we saw made our jaws sink to the ground in shock.

The entire hallway was silent. The air was still and tense. In the middle of the multitudes of fans, two swords gleamed brightly as the light reflected off their polished steel.
