Chapter 5
During the little breaks that she took from her studies, there were several thoughts that came to mind. She was thankful that she didn't choose costumes like zombies, vampires, or demons. What a horrifying thought. She didn't pick costumes like that, but did someone else? Were there zombies or vampires running around without anyone knowing about it? Not really, as said before, the website had only popped up for a few special, select people and she just happened to be one of them.
After about two hours of straight reading and studying, she was still reading about the importance of having a familiar. How they protected their owner, amplified magic, and helped out in various ways. That was still in the realm of Chapter One, Part One. This was definitely going to take a very long time, she was thoroughly frustrated by the fact, and she felt like her brain was going to explode from all of the information.
She took a small bite of the sandwich that she'd proffered from the kitchen as her caramel colored eyes diligently took in every last word on yet another page of the thick tome. She'd never realized exactly how important having a familiar actually was until now. She thought perhaps that was why a good portion of her activities had never really produced any real results. Well, if she wanted to do this, she needed to do it completely. I wonder… She thought, glancing over at her large, bird-eating tarantula. Now that she knew how to summon a familiar, she wondered what kind it would be. A dog? A cat? A bird? Even better, a spider or snake? According to the book, she would have to write her own spell for the conjuring. That would take a bit of time since it would be her first official spell and it was something that she didn't want to screw up.
The spell wouldn't really be as difficult as one would think. All she truly needed were items from a few different animals to represent their place in the animal kingdom. A feather, a tuft of fur, a shed skin or scale, and perhaps a fang or strand from a web. Then something that would represent each of the elements: fire, earth, wind, and water. Finally, she would need her heartfelt words in the form of the spell, a piece of jewelry, and some pure, white candles. After that it would all depend upon her own inner talents whether she needed to wait for a full moon or not.
"I really don't think he suits her. If you consider all of the women that he's been seen with, including his very own manager, well it all speaks for itself. She's smart, athletic, classically beautiful, versatile, and very talented. The women he's been seen with are cute, well endowed, and let's face it… you definitely wouldn't mistake them for a student or a professional. They've all been arm-candy." The talk show host professed. One could really see exactly whom he favored. "I think the closest romantic match for her would be none other than Japan's number one bachelor."
"Well… I'm not so sure about that. He's only her senpai after all, and we can't set aside the fact of what was brought out in the summer with Kusunoki-san. I mean, it's pretty obvious where he stands. If you ask me, Koga Hiromune is far more suitable." The other host countered, and they were pretty spot-on about Sho's tastes. Yes, she did like Ren, but a lot of hearts had been broken in the summer when the rumor of Ren being gay had flooded the entertainment sector. Certainly he was not, and there had been many denials to that assumption, but the damage had been done. "Well, no matter whomever she chooses, we all wish her all the happiness she deserves. Kyoko-san is a really sweet person behind the scenes."
"I agree, I agree… Well, next up… Lions in one of the biggest parks in Tokyo. Will they find them? And who do they belong to? We'll be right back with the curator of the Ueno Zoological Gardens." They announced together and went to commercial.
"Finally!" Lory sat in his home office, lounging on a chaise, and rubbing his hands together in glee. Finally, the media was starting to pair up Kyoko with Ren; although, that pesky rumor, combined with his senpai status, was really hurting his chances with her. The boy had pretty much shot himself in the foot with both of those situations. However, it would seem that they were pairing her with very suitable, eligible bachelors lately. If Ren didn't step up, he would definitely lose out really soon, in his opinion. She did seem as though she was getting discouraged with her current relations with Ren. One can only wait in limbo, with no results for so long. There could quite possibly be a time when she would decide to cut her losses and look elsewhere for the love and care that she clearly needed.

Kyoko sat stunned at the revelations from the talk show, while it was confirmed in Taisho's mind that Ren was indeed not good enough or even a good person for Kyoko, Okami-san was a bit shocked about what they had said about Sho. She still didn't see him as the type of person that Taisho thought, his parents revealed, or even what Kyoko had eventually told them. He was a rambunctious teen boy, with good manners. He would eventually settle down, they always did.
Although she was shocked that they were still trying to pair her with Ren and Hiromune, Kyoko couldn't have agreed more about what they had stated about Sho. She indeed remembered the types of girls he'd 'dated' back in Kyoto, and considering the women he surrounded himself with in Tokyo, other than his manager and Producer Asami, she heartily agreed that their IQs measured less than their bra size. Most couldn't even have been mistaken for a Middle School graduate.

Ren and Yukihito didn't really have any thoughts on the show, they hadn't seen it. Ren had filming in Okinawa over the weekend so he was pretty much sheltered from anything media related at the moment. It would most likely stay that way until Tuesday if everything went smoothly. Although, it still weighed heavily on his mind that neither he, nor Yukihito could remember exactly what had happened after the party on Halloween. It had been a serious discussion between them on the plane that morning.
"You sure you can't remember a thing?" Yukihito asked with concern.
Ren shook his head. "I've tried, but my mind keeps drawing a blank for that night." He confessed.
Yukihito furrowed his brow. "You don't think we were drugged, do you?"
He frowned at the thought, then shook his head. "I don't think that anyone would have the courage to do something like that at one of Boss' parties, and he would have noticed something was off with us before we left. He would have never allowed us to leave with the girls if we were drugged."
Yuki nodded in agreement. "I agree. He's usually very vigilant when it comes to things like that due to Maria-chan's attendance."
That was right. Due to Maria, and several of the children from the families of his other stars, Lory had become extra vigilant when it came to drugs and alcohol at his parties. Drugs had always been an absolute NO, but alcohol was always carefully watched and there were security cameras everywhere to prevent anyone from slipping things into drinks at the bar. So… why was it that he and Yukihito just could not remember anything after they had left the party with the girls?
