The captain paraded down the hall, screaming at everyone to wake up.
"Alpha sent out a corporate-wide warning this morning! Two bases have been ambushed and blown up, forcing the agents out." The captain paused to let everyone get up, before continuing, "The enemy hasn't been bagged yet, so we're all to be on high alert! That means WAKE UP! And somebody take a shower!"
Everyone jerked awake.
A few minutes into the high alert zone, the captain sat with the others in the lounge.
"Another just went down." He sighed, "The agents claimed it was some huge robot suit thing… like the one we fought last year."
Amber gave a glance.
"Remind me what happened last year?"
"We killed 'Omega' and destroyed Gamma. He had a huge suit like the one we're supposed to be looking out for." Luigi groaned. "Let's just hope it isn't the same guy…"
"I doubt it," Simon began, stopping to take a long sip of his coffee, "that guy is dead, like, really dead. No possible way he could just UN-die and begin to attack us! I'd imagine he would have done that as soon as he lost…"
Alph chuckled, "And even if he were planning the entire year, he's by himself and can't just build a whole mech. That would be unrealistic."
Another ping. The captain shrank.
"Another. He just knocked down another. These say it was a blond-haired dude in a large-"
"So it was Billy then." Simon interrupted, "How… WHERE did he get a WHOLE MECH SUIT?!"
"I don't doubt the idea that he's just crammed coffee and made that in under two weeks." Amber stated, bluntly. "That's the Billy I worked with. And this one's more capable than that."
"I wonder if this one's more or less fortified than Alpha's suit…?" 3 asked herself, before the captain interrupted.
"ANOTHER ONE! How is he doing this?! Billy's eliminated several bases… you think he's lookin' for US?!"
"Yet again, I can't doubt the idea that he's probably looking for us." Amber stated.
"And we're just… waiting for him?" Luigi noticed.
"Yeah. Nothing else we can do. He's just gonna keep going, even if someone DOES end up arresting him." Amber sighed.
30 minutes of practically nothing later…
The captain felt a hand waking him up.
"Cap. I think we've waited way past our due. He's here."
A steady banging on the wall kept everyone alert.
Finally, the wall gave in. Everyone watched the huge hulking suit stumble in.
"HahahHAHAA! I finally found you! Even though it wasn't my main task…" Billy laughed, "Hi, how are you? I'm personally doing REALLY GOOD, thanks!"
"Please, just hold still so we can get this over with." The captain snapped.
Billy sighed. "Aw. I wanted to talk! But fiiiiiiine. Let's go."
They found themselves losing very quickly. So they fled to the ship and left.
Alpha's base…
"He… he what?!" Alpha sighed. "You had ONE JOB. To catch the man. How many times does he have to kick your ass to get it through your heads?!"
"Michael, we don't have time for this. He's coming and we need to be ready." Amber demanded, readying her weapon.
"He's coming. Every single MVP in the corporation is stuck here, I don't see an issue if he comes here! In fact, I'd like to see him come here, his ass will regret it!" Alpha snapped back, fuming. "And it's MY head he's after and YOU dragged him here! Just… get the job done, okay? Don't mess it up this time. He's no punk to be messed with, if you're gonna fight him here like I said… be careful. And don't you die, Leslie!"
The team regrouped and all of them huddled up.
"Alright team. The final fight is nearly here. Are we ready?" The captain asked.
An assortment between "no" and "yes" went around the group.
"Okay. Not the MOST ready. But trust me, he's coming. There's not much of another way out of this. We either quit and die here or fight this guy and win. We got that?"
Still didn't know their answers, it seemed.
The captain sighed. "I guess we'll see about Billy's new suit once he decides to jump in."
A thud against the wall.
"Here he comes. Get ready."
I know what you're thinking. "This was short."
Rightfully so. It was only 700 words. Generally, an MVPs chapter has 2500 to 4500 words.
But the end is near. Enjoy this short little reader in the meantime... I'm almost there.
