『Chapter Two ~: Through the Looking Glasses』
I heard a few shouts directed towards me. I continued to walk but after I was far enough away from these humans I'd just met; I came to a revelation that the Jaffa that I killed were left behind, as were the things they were carrying. I knew I needed to relieve those fallen of what they all had. So, I turned and began to make my way to where the stargate was as well as the corpse. I used 『stealth』 to cover my footsteps as I didn't want to deal with those humans.
I could see the location of the humans hadn't changed as their indicators hadn't moved on the 『map』 (at least not yet.) I quickly discovered my steps wouldn't allow me to get much time to take what I wanted so I decide to use 『Dimensional Step』 between every other stride I took. By doing this I soon found myself in front of the corpses of the Jaffa.
I didn't feel anything as I had no real human emotion (or it could be that I hadn't developed them yet.) But this wasn't the time to think about it. Knowing time was limited, I didn't stand on ceremony and instead started to strip the corpse of everything and tossed said items into the 『Item Box. 』
This ended up consisting of armor, devices, and any weapons that they were carrying. Once I was done all that was left were a bunch of nude corpses. I was about to leave as because I could see with the skills 『Map』 and 『Radar』 that the humans were returning. But just before I was about to step away from one of the closes by corpse something sprang from it attempting to insert itself into me. Thankfully, before it even flew a few inches through the air it found itself being skewed by a normal arrow I retrieved from the 『item box』 and threw bare-handed.
As I looked down my eyes glowed. I made a point to spit on the wretched thing as I said aloud, "Pathetic Parasitic-slug."
I found for the first time I was filled with rage, but it dissipated, and my attention return to the 『map』 and decided that the humans were far too close for me to get away unnoticed. Quickly, I chose to go hide in the opposite direction from where the humans were coming from.
From behind a large set of rocks I listened as I watch the 『map. 』 I could hear the rustling of bushes.
As I waited, I could hear the human's voices growing louder. They were talking to one another I found their topic interesting as it was about me. "Commander, we should report in on the situation and see what they want to do with the strange gou….. hey, look the corpses have been stripped." I could hear their footsteps quicken, there was silence, but I could sense they were looking over the area.
"It seems he backtracked and relieved these people of their belongings… I mean it makes sense people and things do what they need for survival."
Suddenly another person shouted, "Look he manage to skewer a symbiote with an arrow… I wonder how he manages to pull off that shot?"
I continued to listen to the conversation, with great interest. "I remember he was carrying a strange-looking bow so it probably some type of alien tech."
"Yeah, especially with the effect, we saw during that battle... We should go back and report all that happens and make double sure to explain the one that saved us."
The commander then said, "Of course but we need to make it clear that this Goa'uld was very strange along with the weapon that he wields. I suggest we bring back that Goa'uld skewer so they can study the bolt and perhaps also see how it managed such an impressive takedown."
A woman her voice seemed to hold an arrogant tone, "I imagine the snake that was native here managed to take hold of a host that came to the planet and had a bout of good fortune."
The conversation ended and I could hear the sound of shaup… shaup (the sound of metal rubbing together) shaup…shaup.. shaup… shaup (the sound grew faster.) There was one last 'shaup' followed by a whoosh.
I could see a glow reflected on something in front of me. I could hear a sequence of beeps and then there was a pause and after several moments the glow ended as the sound of something de-energizing. I waited for a few moments even with the map telling me they were gone. I decided to come out from my hiding spot and I looked at the metal circle left behind. I used 『Analysis eyes』 on it and saw data pop-up inside of my mind.
I still felt like I was about to blow chunks, as I still tried to get over the pain. Eventually, my efforts proved fruitless and I found myself dry heaving.
I steady myself against the pedestal after the fourth attempt, and I found my mouth filled with a stank yellow liquid. I shook my head and spat several times trying to rid my mouth of this vile taste so I reached into my item box and snatch an apple. I started to bite it as soon as it came out. I could feel the juice spread quickly over my mouth and after the taste of the bile was gone I spat the apple out and tossed the remaining fruit away.
I was slightly upset with the gaining of this headache-inducing skill, but after thinking about it, the gift was a blessing. I had to leave, because those people would be back.
I walked around the pedestal until I was in front of the controls. I thought to myself, 'I need to go to a place like this world,' as I thought this several symbols flashed through inside of my mind. I pressed them in the order I saw them. As I did, I watched the stargate come alive and the rings began to move until suddenly the gate activated. I was slightly shocked at what I saw but I still approached it and I let my hand run across it before finally deciding to step into it.
