『Chapter Four ~: Journey Through The Ice』

My staff was aimed at the gate. I waited for a seven count, '7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2…' and then moved forward. I found the gate was connected from my dial and I stepped through.

As I stepped through the gate, I could feel the slightly above sub-zero temperature. My eyes glowed, I looked around and, in the distance, I saw signs of a fire, so I made my way to it. It only took me less than a half hour to arrive to the source. When I got there, I saw huts that were constructed of animal hides and people working and living their lives, so I made my way to the city. This may have been a mistake.

As I approached, I could sense I was being noticed. Suddenly, I heard horns and then I saw something that genuinely surprised me. I was seeing people dressed like those that I met on my home world. They were not the identical but their outfits, and weapons were indistinguishable. As I came with in distance of their voice, I saw three of them took aim and the fourth step forward. This was clearly their leader.

"Goa'uld place your staff down and get on your knees or we will open fire."

I gave the one that spoke a glare before uttering my reply, "I may be Goa'uld but I've done nothing wrong and I see no reason to lower myself to you or anyone I just came to explore nothing more nothing less."

My words seem to agitate the man and he was about to order the attack on me but one of the men broke the formation and ran up to the commander and began to speak to him the two argued for a moment and then the commander looked my way before saying, "Goa'uld would you wait here?"

My eyes went to slits and was about to refuse when I heard a scream and the solider before me and some people turned to see a creature that look like a sabretooth bear about the size of two large ancient earth mammoths that was chasing after a group of tribal men that were shooting arrows and throwing spears trying to get away.

The soldier forgot about me and moved to intervene, and I was about to go back to the stargate when I heard a woman scream. "Please heroes save my husband and son before they become meal for the vicious."

I grimaced and growled, unsure of what to do. But in the end, I turned, took my staff from my back and switched it to the cannon mode and began running towards the scene. As I got closer, I began firing. The bear roared and it looked stunned for a moment and couldn't prevent several more strikes. It fell onto its side before coughing blood, but just as quickly it got back up.

As I approached suddenly I heard crack .. crack … crack … crack and this came from several sources. I soon notice the soldiers were standing un comfortably close to me as they all were opening fire for some reason. I choose to continue to fire at the top setting which rupture several large wounds over it body. As the soldiers saw this, they look at me like I was some type of freak and they watched as I marched forward even as people screamed at me to stop but I didn't. I continue firing over and over this only seem to slow the monster and give the people it was chasing more time I even switch to tri-shot (it weaken the blast by splitting the concentrated shot but it caused it more pain.) I let out a roar and screamed in the tribal language of this tribe, "Bastards, run unless you want an express journey through that thing's digestive tract."

The soldiers of earth had no idea what they were seeing: a Goa'uld was a coward but this one wasn't the norm.

I assumed their first thought I was tokra but they'd doubt that to as the weapon wasn't typical of the species. They watched as I continued to blast the beast.

Thankfully, the creature was slowing. As the group passed me, a big man stopped next to me and said "come …. savior."

I looked at the man and grunted and said, "did I say stop running goooooooooooo."

The big man shivered and began running again as the bear got in striking distance of me. I switch the staff back to it single burst and suddenly I blew out the monster's front kneecaps sending the creature collapsing hard to the icy ground. It let out a shrill roar.

The large bear gave me a deadly stare that would freeze most living things souls, but I only grunted. "Shut the f*ck up."

The vicious eyes went narrow like it understood but before it could react, I shot it in the head several more times but it still swung and hit me. I was sent rocketing back.

The next part I learned through hearsay. The human soldiers came running up to me and found I was unconscious but I survived as my armor reacted and deployed on its own. They decided to take me back to earth while I remained in this state. They secured my hand and stabilized me. I could only assume they told the chieftain there were going to get me treatment (they had no idea to refuse as the people were heroes to them and they were more advanced.)

As I was being loaded onto the gurney another soldier got my staff and was amazed by its design. "Sir this Ma' Tok staff is beyond any I've seen I think if someone else attempted to use it they might blow off their hand, arm, upper torso and head."

At her words, the chief soldier looks at her than at me. "Maybe the staff weapon has been upgraded."

The female officer shook her head and said, "I doubt it if this was new standards, we'd have seen it by now. I actually think this guy built it."

"Even more reason to get him back to base, before he wakes." They began slogging through the snow carrying me to the stargate and as they left with me, they saw the tribes running towards the vicious carcass to begin stripping it. It took them a hour to arrive to the gate and they dial the earth address and open the gate they then keyed in the access code on their 'DHD' for the iris and step through the gate with me after they were through several minutes the gate closed and Ice world return to it former somber silence.
