Bethesda Naval Hospital

Later in the Day...

After a long morning of testing being done on Harm, he had finally been brought back to his room. Now all that was left was for them to wait and see what the tests would show. Harm shifted on the bed to make room for his family. Mac along with Tommy sat down next Harm ,he took her hand and laced his with hers .

"Talk to me sweetheart, I know you've got a lot on your mind."

"I'm worried about tomorrow, I'm so afraid that Mrs Wallace will decide that we are unfit to keep Tommy. Especially given everything that has taken place. I called her while you went to get your testing done. I had to leave a message trying to explain everything. I just hope it's good enough. We can't loose him Harm. We just can't .."

"Sweetheart I don't honestly think we will, ( pausing for a brief moment )however I'm willing to give up my Wings for the three of you if it comes down to that. The Navy can ground me, if that means I can keep my family together."

"No; I will not let that happen, you can't give up what you love, what you where born to do. That's not the man I love, the man I married. He's; He's a fighter he fights for what and who he believes in. That's the man I want as my children's father as my husband."

"Sarah; please hear me out."

"Fine I'm all ears make your case."

"Last night when I knew I was going to crash, you guys where the last images I saw. I didn't think I would ever see you guys again. I knew I was going die, and never get to hold my daughter see her touch her, never get to hold you again, make love to you, or teach Tommy to walk, show him the right way to treat a lady. But mostly just be a husband and father, I knew I was going to die and leave everyone I love behind, I saw you sitting in Arlington wearing all black being hand a tri-folded flag, the missing man formation being flown over head. Mom and grams once again crying for a Rabb that died. I will not put any of you through this."

Harm stoped talking when the door to his room opened up and Dr Radford along with Dr Greene walked in. Both a porched the bed. "Have we come at a bad time Commander? " Dr Radford asked sensing he was interrupting something.

"No Doc, is everything okay with me?" Dr Radford looked over at Dr Greene. "Commander I asked Dr Greene to take a look at the tests we ran this morning. We are both in agreement that; from a medical stand point, you're fine. Looks to no lasting or permanent damage done. You're very lucky. Not too many men could have survived let alone walk away from a crash like that. Please keep in mind next time you might not be that lucky." Now Dr Radford glanced over towards Mac.

"Mrs Rabb do you have any questions for Dr Greene? After all you are the one that wanted a second opinion?"

"Yes I do, however I'm going to ask these as my husbands Navy lawyer and not his wife. See I'm a JAG attorney."

Both doctors looked shocked at this new piece information that had just come to light. Mac was just about to begin questioning both Doctors, when there was a knock on the door. Dr Radford told the person to come door opened and in walked Mrs Wallace. "Oh I can come back."

Mac jumped up and went straight over to her. "No please stay; the Doctors where just about to leave." Mac shot them a get the hell out look. "Oh; okay if your sure?"

"Yes I'm quite sure."

Both Doctors made there way to the door, but not before Dr Radford stoped next to Mac, "We will return later." Mac rolled her eyes, she took a long deep breath and went over next to Mrs Wallace.

"Mrs Rabb I received your message, I'm somewhat concerned about the events that have taken place. I was led to believe that both of you are Navy Lawyers, now I'm finding out that Commander Rabb is Navy Pilot? Was it both of your intention to lie to me and the courts?"

Harm spoke up- "No ma'am myself nor my wife didn't lie, we are both Lawyers in The US Navy and Marine Corps you can verify it with our CO Admiral Chegwidden."

"Commander I've done that, and your Admiral has confirmed this. What bothers me is that you failed to inform myself or the court that you are an active Naval Pilot."

"Ma'am I only fly once every 6 month at the most, and that just to keep up my qualifications."

"Commander, I understand what your telling me, I don't believe the court will."

Mac was starting to panic. "Please you can't take him from us. I'm willing to leave the military to keep him. Please just don't take him."

"It's not my call Colonel. Not at least on the adoption part, the courts have already granted you temporary custody, with that in mind the adoption will be based on my recommendation. Please keep this in mind, if you both truly want to keep him."

She reached in her bad and pulled out the documents granting them temporary custody, both signed them and handed them back over. She gave them their copy.

"Commander I do hope you get well, and I will help you in your fight to keep Tommy. I can see how much he means to you both. I was just caught off guard when I walked in here today. I didn't know what to expect. God speed to all of you." She gathered up her belongings and left out of the room.

Mac made her way back to Harms bed, she picked up Tommy ( whom had been sleeping ) cradling him to her, she inhaled his sweet baby sent, Harm wrapped his good arm around both of them. "I'm not going to loose him Sarah, I will hang up my Wings. I will not loose him."
