I was very nervous.

Not towards the princess at the moment.

Not towards the situation that was happening.

But…

The stares…

Looking to my left I watched as the guards' heads quickly shot forwards and away from my direction. "Are you alright miss?" I jumped slightly as the guard captain came up on my left just slightly behind me.

"Yeah just…" I spared yet another glance towards another guard who had turned to look at me. He got an annoyed look on his face and gave a stern look towards the guard who looked towards us next causing them to look away sweating.

"They are simply intrigued by the fact a new princess is going to be coronated. It has only happened once before with princess Cadence." He spoke. "I will admit to also be intrigued as well although I am more subtle about it!" the yell caused all the guards nearby us to jump slightly as I could see them start to shake slightly. "May I ask a question miss?"

"Um… sure." He nodded his thanks.

"Might I ask how all of this happened?"

"Celestia believes it had to do with the Magical Storm that occurred not too long ago, but she also believes there are some other reasons involved with it." Well, that was her suspicion to my knowledge. But the one I talked to… shivers go down my spine just by thinking of it.

"I see. Regardless allow me to introduce myself. My name is Golden Heart. I am one of the four captains of the royal guard but typically am in charge of training as well as search and rescues." He stated.

"it's a pleasure to… meet you." He gave a nod.

"We are almost to the room your highnesses." Spoke up the guard at the front of the group. Reaching the room, we walked in as the princess immediately began to look at all the etchings on the floor. Almost immediately she stopped moving.

"Captain. When we first came into this room did you notice that the ritual had already taken place?" Gold Heart seemed confused at her words.

"Yes, your highness." He answered confusion evident in his tone.

"Then why is the room… ready for the ritual to be used once more?" looking around I could slightly see what she meant. When I first came into this room everything was how it shows now. But after that binding ritual had taken place all the lines that had been etched into the floor had cracks running all along the floor. But those cracks were gone now. "Perhaps the area has an automatic restoration in its ward scheme?" she mumbled this comment but continued looking at all the symbols on the floor.

"I'm seeing discrepancies here!" yelled the captain as the three guards seemingly teleported to the back wall cowering as the captain got all up in their faces. As he continued to yell as them a guard approached me as I stared in disbelief.

"The captain should have remembered they aren't really the best with their sketches…" he muttered.

"This one would create the bond while this one over here would…" I could hear Celestia muttering as everything on the floor looked like gibberish to me.

"Your highness for Miss Hoove's sake. Can you please explain what you're finding so she knows what's been done to her? As well as your theories perhaps." The guard asked as she looked up slightly wide eyed.

"of course… my apologies Derpy. I have reason to believe that this entire structure is sentient and now has a sort of familiar bon with Derpy." All the guards, including the captain who paused in his scolding, all looked towards me before turning their attention back to the princess.

"Might I ask for your evidence your majesty? Cause if this place is sentient… then this place would be a great find for the research division back in Canterlot." The captain stated. "Sentient objects haven't been seen or recorded in centuries within the magic society."

"While true that is not truly the case. Not here at the very least. We wouldn't be able to do much without Derpy being there to assist and even then, this place has become her private property due to the bon she now has with the place." Celestia stated giving me a small smile. "The rune structure over here as revealed to me several things." She moved her hoof and pointed to a small formation of writing to the right of here. "Over here is what activating the ritual but at the same time restricts it to activate only with a specific magic wavelength."

"Magic… wavelength?" I asked as the guard next to me quickly answered.

"Everypony and everything has its own magic signature." He stated with a small smile. "While plants signatures are the same in the forest, they come from they can also only be picked up by those with capable of using a high-level magic sense spell. Magic in unicorns and alicorns is much more potent and any intermediate unicorn could cast a spell to detect magic signatures in the area or the signature of a pony. It's quite a useful spell in criminal investigations as even if a unicorn doesn't use magic they leave behind a trail of magic. Although there are ways to thwart said spell and mask their signature."

"He is entirely correct." Celestia smiled. "What I believe the rune does is that it allows the place to activate the ritual at any time it wishes. It's what it did to activate the rune circle and bind itself to you… although there are rune combinations that do not make any sense…"

"Rune… combinations?" the guard gave a small sigh before once again smiling towards me.

"Runes work in many ways in both spectacular and yet… very destructive, ways. Some runes don't work well with one another and can go from 0 to 100 really quick which is a very fitting saying when it comes to this branch of magic."

"But is this a good thing or bad things?" I then asked.

"For you Derpy quite good… although from what I have seen for anypony else researching this place would be of no use… as this place has become your territory in a sense." Celestia spoke up. "Your will and magic can affect the place, well once you are able to use, you're the magic you have begun to obtain, because it appears your magic… is the only thing that can truly affect this place while it causes others to fail or slip right through it."
