"they've been gone for a while…" I muttered as I partially listened in to the conversations happening all around me as the nurses and doctors continued to examine me. A nurse overheard me and quickly answered me.
"They are most likely conversing about possible ways to help you over the next two months." Wait… two months? "I'm sorry did you not hear what they had been talking about?"
"I think I might have zoned out after hearing safety measures." I stated a bit embarred as the other nurses and doctors finally backed off and walked over to the machines, they had brought with them with the nurse who was talking with me being the only one staying behind.
"It's quite alright Miss Hoove's. anypony would zone out really after hearing about possible safety measures needing to be taken for either their own or otherponys health. Would you like for me to explain?" I gave her a quick nod. "The reasons for these safety measures if from the only previously recorded experience of what's happening to you."
"Can I?" she nodded her head with a small smile as she quickly grasped onto what I was about to ask of her.
"Certainly. The previous recorded experience was that of Princess Cadence when she herself ascended. Although her case only lasted a short two weeks and even then, the large amount of damage caused is a reason for concern here. Yours is given an approximate timeframe of two months." My ears shot back, and eyes widened at that piece of information.
"Two months." I squeaked out.
"That is correct." She gave me a slightly saddened look. "It's what the doctors predicted would be when you magic channels and horn would be fully developed. Give or take a week at least from what they say."
"So, what… would need to happen then?" I then asked slightly afraid of what I was going to hear. I really started to feel dread when she gave me a very saddened frown… sadness completely filling up her eyes above all else.
"It was determined that you would need to be isolated for the whole two months… with possible guards and magic specialists." I froze. Isolated? Was the damage so bad that I could cause because of this so much worse than the damage I normally caused? I… "Miss Hoove's?"
What was going to happen?
"Miss Hoove's!"
Would the princess forget about me?
"Miss Hoove's can you hear me?!"
Why was it so hard to breath?!
"Derpy… look at me…" I turned my head and looked at the princess as she was giving me a worried look. "You need to calm down… your hyperventilating." I finally noticed the pain in my chest as I found myself back in reality, breathing heavily and quickly. "Now just slow down…"
"I… can't…" I coughed out continuing to breath hard.
"yes, you can Derpy… just focus on me." Doing what she said I looked directly at her. "that's it… only focus on me. Now take a deep breath." I found it greatly difficult to do so. But managed to do so after a few attempts. "Good. Now breath out." Breathing out I found the pain in my chest slowly going away as I followed the instructions, she was given to me… but my mind was still on the fact I would need to be isolated for two months. "Could you please leave the room for the time being?" I then heard Celestia ask. I thought she was talking and was about to answer her when I heard Doctor Surge instead answer her.
"Certainly, your highness. We need time to discuss the final diagnosis and see if there are any further problems that have popped with the tests." Soon after I heard a large amount of movement.
"Excellent. Could I ask for you to await me in the tearoom then after you are done discussing should you get done before us?" the princess then asked.
"of course. Come along now." Soon after the noise of hoofs against floor ceased and I heard the sound of the door shutting.
"Are you alright Derpy?" she then asked me.
"I have to be isolated… am I really that much of a danger?" I looked at her with saddened eyes. "I already cause a large amount of damaged due to my clumsiness."
"When Cadence went through her own ascension to becoming an alicorn the damage she caused was quite severe. Thankfully nopony was really injured but its what's causing the need for one to be isolated." She then spoke up as she put a hoof around me and pulled me in close. "I don't want you to be the cause of any sort of destruction involving magic… magical destruction is punished much more severely than physical destruction. Even if the reason is due to magical accidents, you would be vindicated due to not taking the proper safety measures."
"Why cant I just be a normal pony…" I then stated as tears started to fill up my eyes. "Everything was so much easier when I was only a Pegasus…" she pulled me in closer. "Why was I born with this defect?!"
"Sh sh sh sh…" she then began to rock me back and forth as I began to sob into her chest. "It's alright… its quite alright…"
