Once dinner was over, I was thankful Luna brought up the fact Derpy didn't know about everything she would know about the castle. I was also quite happy of the fact Derpy was able to accept the fact that she was going to need her own personal guard although the selection process and the designing of the armor and weapons would be problematic. They would also need their own barracks as well. But I would be more than happy to sponsor their own creation for her safety.

I walked on my own towards the general's office to get his help in collecting files for me to go through. For the time being all, I need to do is select enough to watch over her and assist the specialists that will be Derpy to the home. Thinking of the guard that was with her before we entered the dining room as Derpy explained he was one of the ones that was with her when she delivered mail here in Canterlot. He seemed like a good first candidate although I will need to look into his normal life to ensure I'm not moving too fast.

Soon arriving at the barracks, I was notified that the general was expecting me which honestly didn't surprise me. He tended to know when either my sister or I were coming to see him which I am quite thankful for as he tended to ensure he was free whenever we went to see him. Walking through the halls I noticed Captain Shining Armor walking towards me coming from the direction of the general's office. "Greeting's captain."

"Good evening your highness." He quickly stated with a small bow.

"How is your evening so far?" I asked him as I remembered he was currently dating my niece.

"Excellent your majesty. Princess Cadence and I have a reservation at a restaurant that we will be going to in an hour or so." He stated.

"Ah. Well then, I will not keep you for much longer. Although I must ask a favor of you." He looked ready to accomplish any sort of task I was going to give him. "I need you to let my niece know to come to the castle for breakfast tomorrow morning for some important matters. They might possibly take the entire day."

"I will let her know your highness." He stated.

"Excellent. Have a nice date… and I hope I don't need to reiterate the fact that you are dating my niece… and that if you hurt her in any way…" he gulped as he seemed to somehow get paler despite already being white.

"Yes, your highness…"

"Very good captain. Carry on." He quickly walked off, nearly trotted, as I chuckled. He can be so serious about certain matters that I find quite hilarious. Arriving at the general's office I knocked on his open door as he quickly called me in already knowing it was me.

"Good evening your highness." He stated as he stood up and gave me a deep bow. "How may I assist you today?"

"Have you heard the rumors recently going amongst the staff and guard?"

"I believe I have heard many rumors your highness. But you are talking about the ones concerning Derpy Hooves correct… and the beginning of her ascension?" he asked as I nodded. "As I thought. Once I heard those rumors, I gave orders for those in the know to keep things quiet for the time being and even employed your sister's stealth division to ensure this." I completely forgot about her stealth division… although if I remember correctly, she gave them a completely ridiculous name quite frankly before they simply started calling themselves the stealth division.

"Thank you for doing so… now then, do you have any guesses for why I am here?" I asked him as he sat back down in his chair.

"I would go with the reasons of who is ascending and the fact you are here on the fact that you wish to create a personal guard for her." He then answered. He did know quite a bit thankfully.

"Correct… but for now I just need a few guards to be sent with her to watch over her due to what's happening to her during her ascension… you have heard of what happened when my niece ascended correct?"

"Quite so. Its in the black book all generals are given once they accept and are fully trained for the position." The black book. Secrets the generals of every generation are needed to know to the point where it's a necessity. "Might I ask… how bad it will be?"

"From personal experience it was quite bad for the two weeks it occurred… but Derpy's will be much worse in comparison. Hers is expected to last a total of two months and she is going to be sent to an out of the way vacation home in isolation." His ears flattened against his helmet as he sighed. "Yes… although we have yet to come to a conclusion on how many we should send with her to ensure her protection and to assist the specialists being sent with her. What would you recommend?" he gained a thoughtful look on his face as he motioned for me to take a seat. Once I had done so he seemed to have already come to an idea.

"Several squads worth to be honest. 6 in each with there being a total of 4. One squad constantly handling the perimeter, another set to ensure the repair of the area, yet another to ensure the protection of the specialists, and the last one to ensure the protection of Miss Hooves." I grimaced at the numbers he recommended. That would mean a lot of going through files and make the selection process much more tedious. And we only had an approximate of 3 days to do so.

"So many?" he nodded.

"Granted we might be able to remove the squad to watch the perimeter but the other three are going to be a necessity. Especially since she is going to be expected to stay there for 2 months the repair team will need to be able to fix a lot of magical damage and the other two teams will need to be on the tip of their hooves to keep their charges protected." He then answered. "We are going to be in for a long night rant we your majesty…"

"Unfortunately, general… you are quite right…"

"I'll order some coffee and tea… maybe a bit of scotch as well."
