21 weeks
One week passed after the brutal argument with Angelica leaving Castiel heartbroken and running away. One week after it that he picked up the phone exactly when he was ready and told her he forgave her after the voicemail she left which was three days ago after he left. So with that he stopped the sad music playing on his iPhone and dialed her number.
Before Angelica could speak, he spoke first. "I forgive you."
There was silence before he could hear what sounded like someone crying and a laugh that sounded so happy after hearing him. "You really shouldn't," she said in a quiet cracking but happy voice. "Where are you?"
"I'm at my brothers house. The address is…" He hears her fumbling for something to write on in the background as he tells her.
"Okay, I'll be there in a few."
He nods before remembering she can't see him and starts crying again tears of happiness too. "Okay."
Angelica and Dean arrive at the Novak house just in time to catch Michael who was getting ready to leave out. She knocks on the door with Dean behind her. Michael was putting on his coat to pick his children up and to get away from the sad music playing in his brothers room from school when he heard the knock.
He went to the door and immediately began to close it when Angelica put her foot in the doors opening. "I need to talk to Cas."
She could hear a song by John Mayer called 'Heartbreak Warfare' ending then a song by Keith Urban called 'Put you in a Song' beginning somewhere within the house.
"Well he doesn't want to hear from you so leave!" he growled still not letting her into the house.
"He needs me! He called me." she said as she began crying once again that day. How many tears will I cry today Angelica thought to herself. Dean put an arm around her to comfort her and she leaned back into him.
Michael's eyes softened before he decides to let her in. "Come in. If you ever hurt my brother again, you have me to deal with." They all hear Rick Springfield's 'Jessie's Girl' coming from the bedroom Castiel is in. Dean snorts before laughing while Angelica keeps a straight face.
"Has he been doing that since our fight?" Angelica asked, not bothering to keep the curiosity out of her voice.
"Yes. Please fix him! I can't take another one of the songs he's listening to. If I hear another Richard Marx or Elliot Yamin song or any other, I don't know what I'd do," he said counting them off with his fingers before holding his hands in a prayer stance for effect and she giggled.
Dean sat down as she went to the bedroom Michael directed her to. She found him laying on the bed tossing a football up in the air again and again, tears falling on the sides of his face so she knocks on his door.
"Can I come in?" she asked as he startled and set up quickly wiping his eyes and turned the music off on his iphone throwing the football to the side.
He nods before talking. "You came."
She gives him the present she had behind her back. When he opened it, inside held a small teddy bear with a card attached as she replied, "Of course I came. I will always come after you. I want you to know that."
He took the teddy bear out and his eyes soften once he looks at it.
"I know it's not much but…" she trails off once she sees him open the letter reading it to himself.
Dear Castiel-
Sitting down to write this, I've never felt more horrible in my whole life for hurting you than I do right now. I'm sorry for all the things I said to you that day. That doesn't began to cover it. I'm sorry for pushing you away.
Despite how much I love Dean, I never saw what was really in front of me and that was you. I have always had a secret crush on you but then there was Dean so I never did anything about it. I wish you would have told me how you felt about me before Dean reentered my life. Maybe things would have been different than they are now.
I can't be without you for one minute and everything I come across at home reminds me of you. I can't help but think about you every second of every day since you've been gone. Somehow you were meant to be with me and I'm not letting that chance or you go again. Can we start over? Do you forgive me?
Love always,
Angelica
(P.S.: Please come home. It's not the same without you. I miss you.)
Castiel nods after laughing and crying while reading her apology note as she sits down beside him and she kisses him and he melts and smiles as his lips meet her soft ones as he returns it with just as much love that you wouldn't be able to put into words but pulls away once he remembers Dean. Although it was their first of many kisses to come, it felt like it was riddled with reunion and hellos instead of goodbyes and departures to him.
"But you're with Dean?" he asked their faces still inches apart.
"He thinks I should be with you. Now do you really forgive me?"
She pulls back slightly as he starts to talk. "I already forgave you. What more do you want?"
She kisses him again as she wipes his tears away. "First I want you to come back home." Kiss. "Next I want to be this baby's Mommy." Kiss. "And I want to raise him or her with you." She kisses him one last time before placing her hand on his bump of a belly.
He entwined their fingers on his belly. "I'd like that. So you said you had a crush on me?"
"Is that all you got from that letter?" she said as she punched him in the arm playfully. "Yes I did and it was way before Dean asked me to be his girlfriend."
"Ow, pregnant guy here! I had one on you too."
"I wish I had known. I probably would have never said yes to Dean had I known."
"Now you know. That's all that matters now." he said with a smile on his face.
"Will you come home then?" she said holding out her hand.
He nods before taking her hand. "I think I will."
They make it to the door but halfway there he slams her into the door and kisses her again with as much love that he can put into just one kiss and she's caught by surprise but kisses him back just as much.
"I love you," he said quietly as he put his forehead against hers.
She smiled as she took his hand in hers. "I love you too."
They walk out of the room into the living room where Dean was watching Oprah but he turned it off and jumped up off his seat startled.
"So is everything okay between you two?" Dean asked watching them nod.
"We're fine or at least we will be," they say at the same time before smiling at one another before sharing another kiss, his hand on her neck.
Dean looks between them with an impassive expression on his face before grinning. "Oh and for the record you didn't see anything, got it?"
Castiel and Angelica mimic zipping their lips and throwing the keys away one with a smirk and one with a grin on their faces.
"Okay, let's go. I'll drop you two off and I'll head home."
"You don't want to stay for dinner? It's Taco Tuesday today. Your favorite!" Angelica asked.
"Nah I'll pass. Maybe next time." He said watching her and Castiel get in the car. Angelica decided to ride shotgun and Cas got into the backseat.
When they arrived back home, Angelica kissed Dean's cheek and he closed his eyes.
She pulled back before speaking looking at his closed eyes. "Are you okay? You sure you don't want to come in?"
He gave a forced smile as he opened his eyes. "I will be and yes I'm sure." He was going to miss her but they were now friends so that counted for the most part.
Angelica waved at him as she held Castiel's hand as she knocked on the door after finding it locked.
Once he sees her parents Leia Smith and Julian Smith open the door he drives off.
"We saw the note you left," Leia said, with curiosity as she and Julian looked down at their joined hands. "Is everything okay between you two now?"
"Yeah it is," Angelica replied as she raised their joined hands. "We're together now."
"What about Dean? How does he feel about it? Is he okay about it?" her father asked.
"He's actually the one that suggested we get together so I hope so."
"Well tell me all about it." Leia said approaching her daughter who followed her into the kitchen as they began chatting.
Meanwhile Castiel was left alone in the room with Angelica's father Julian. There was silence in the room for a bit until Julian spoke up.
"I suppose you know what I'm going to say now right?"
Cas nodded. "I won't hurt her. You have my word."
They shake hands before Julian pulls him into a hug and pats his back before pulling away then they walk into the kitchen.
"Do you mind telling me everything that happened before you two came to be and what changed your mind about him?" Julian ask motioning between the two.
"Well Dean started by telling me how Cas and I interact around one another and how he doesn't seem to have the same connection that I have with him, that I still care for him and much more I don't even need to discuss," she continued on telling him before they got ready to eat. "then that's when I realized he was right and the person I'm truly supposed to be with was right in front of me all along and I failed to realize that and now here we are."
They continued talking about that until they went on and ate.
Later that night as they lay in bed, Angelica's head on his chest they sat up talking until one question came to Cas's mind.
"So what happens now?" he ask her as she lays a hand on his stomach where the baby lay inside peacefully and he entwined his fingers with hers where it lay.
"I don't know but I do know we have enough time to just take it day by day," Angelica told him with as much honesty as possible in that one statement.
They had a long road ahead of them but they would make the most of it every chance they got.
