Izuku Midoriya was trying to pull himself back together after his emotional spiral with Eri the night before and it was working. Well until Aizawa- sensei didn't show up. It wouldn't have been the first time and it would of been fine... if Midnight- sensei didn't keep sending him looks when she thought he was looking the other direction. He tried to think back to what he did that made her look like that but couldn't think of anything out of the ordinary recently.
Great...
Just what I needed...
He waited to be called to talk after class and was surprised when Midnight left sending him one last worried glance.
He thought the rest of the day would be fine but the same thing happened over and over with every teacher.
What's happening...
What if they're going to expel me!
I can't be expelled!
His worries plagued his mind until the bell finally rang signaling that it was finally lunch. He couldn't help but dash to the lunch room ignoring the yells behind him. He quickly grabbed the plate of food before taking off to head outside. He didn't know where he was going but that didn't stop his sprint. He finally stopped after a few minutes of wandering looking up. Judging by the trees in every direction he had ran into U.A.'s woods.
Great you ran away.
He felt bad about leaving his friends in the classroom but he was not willing to stay behind with his teacher. He knew that the teachers at U.A. wouldn't hurt him but old habits die hard. He always felt bad for his lack of trust in them but he couldn't help but worry that they would become his old teachers. He remembers how surprised he first was coming to U.A. and being treated like a person, it was amazing, he never wants life to be like his past again. Which is why he couldn't help but worry that they would find out he used to be quirkless. As much as he wished Eri never had to live her life of torture he couldn't help but feel glad that Eri didn't yet know about quirkless people. Hopefully by the time she does learn about them she would have forgotten about their conversation in total. He just couldn't loose Eri's love, she was his sister in everything but blood.
He climbed up one of the trees, placing his backpack on a sturdy branch and sliding in his earbuds. He sat there quietly eating lunch, listening to his playlist as it played in the background, until lunch was over and it was time for classes again. He grabbed his backpack placing his earbuds and phones back in it before sliding it over his shoulders. He jumped from one branch to another until he was close enough to the ground to leap off without much risk.
He closed his eyes enjoying the silence that the journey back had.
*Thud*
He felt himself run into an object before falling to the floor. He opened his eyes quickly glancing to the shape across from him.
Shinsou...
"I'm so sorry! Iwasn'tlookingwhereIwasgoing!Areyouokay?"
("I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going! Are you okay?")
"Wow Midoriya calm down."
"Sorry..."
Shinsou stood up dusting off the dirt from the ground. Shinsou walked over to where he was laying and reached out a hand. Midoriya couldn't help but flinch at the hand. Looking up at Shinsou he could see the others worried gaze.
"You okay... you seemed kind of scared?"
Midoriya looked towards the ground grabbing the others still outstretched hand. "Yeah I'm fine. No need to worry."
He could see Shinsou studying him before starting to walk towards the main building.
"So what's a hero student like you doing out here?"
"Shinsou you do realize that you just transferred into the hero course right? You're literally in class 1-a, "Hero student"."
"Right..."
Shinsou had taken Mineta's spot in the hero course after the later got expelled. If you were to ask anyone in class 1-a the process didn't happen soon enough. Shinsou had started attending their classes the week before, and even though he was behind on Hero classes he was catching up quickly. Whenever Midoriya came in contact Shinsou he would want to ask hundreds of questions about the other boys quirk and had to bite his tongue to stop himself from bombarding him.
"Hey, we're here." Shinsou said snapping him out of his trance. They walked back into the hallway continuing quietly until they reached class 1-a's door. Looking through the small window on the door he saw that all his classmates had already arrived back from lunch. He quickly braced himself before pushing the door open and dashing towards his seat. He reached his seat in record time, throwing his bag down beside him.
Before Midoriya knew it Present Mic had arrived with his usual scream of what was always assumed to be a greeting.
Present Mic sat down in the chair up front spreading his items out. He managed to knock down the huge cup of water that he insisted on using, spilling the giant amount of water all over the floor making a huge puddle that made Iida go crazy.
Present Mic grabbed the paper towels from the side quietly mumbling words that clearly not meant to be heard. "Calm down... you're worse than your brother."
The words managed to make Bakugou snort from the seat in front of Midoriya.
"Excuse me sir! I didn't hear your early words! Please repeat them sir!"
Uraraka started giggling at the class rep probably knowing that what ever came out of their Sensei's mouth was most likely not meant for the class to hear.
"Well while I take care of this mess you little listeners go ahead and turn in your home work from last night!" Present Mic said as the familiar sound of paper towels ripping hit Midoriya's ears.
He reached into his bag pulling out the piece of home work that he had barely finished. The sheet was actual a packet of stuff that would be used later that week for a project. It took a few hours of research for everyone to gather what they needed. He was just lucky that he only had a few easy to answer questions left.
As he reached the turn in bin that was laying on the podium in the front of the classroom, he noticed Kaminari and Sero shoving each other around while attempting to put their papers in the tub. Midoriya tried dodging the two but instead was knocked over. Usually it wouldn't be a big deal and he would just pick himself up but it had been a bad day for him and to make matters worse he fell right into the giant puddle of water soaking his clothes.
He heard voices asking if he was all right but couldn't manage to answer. He blinked open his eyes that he didn't even noticed had closed.
It's all right just sit up and turn in your packet. You'll be fine. Just breath.
Wait the packet...
He didn't feel the packet in his hands anymore. He quickly sat up and looked around, feeling around him for it. As he gave up putting his hands to his sides feeling them scrape soggy papers.
No...
No...
No!
He shifted to his left and looked down seeing that right where he was before was a completely ruined packet. He could feel his stomach churn as the dread hit him hard.
No!
The wetness in his eyes only seemed to grow despite his hard efforts to stop it.
I don't want to leave U.A.
I was finally fitting in.
I finally had friends to call mine.
They were family.
He could hear familiar voices that he couldn't place. They seemed to be trying to calm him down but as soon as he felt a hand touch his shoulder he stood up feeling the familiar warmth of his quirk activating. He continued pushing past everyone and bolting down the hallway.
He refused to look back. He refused to stop. He refused to let them get a chance to hurt him.
He ran ignoring the calls of his class.
He didn't know where he was headed but he was rushing to wherever that place was.
After a while of running in fright he found himself in the familiar woods of U.A. Looking around he saw the tree he ate lunch in and climbed it once again.
By now the wetness from his eyes was running down his neck, blurring his vision and making him feel gross.
He made sure that he wasn't making any noise while sobbing before curling up into a ball. He was going to ignore the fact that he just left his bag full of supplies in the classroom.
He just that their alone in the silence of the forest.
Alone...
That's what I've always been.
- Eraserhead's POV-
Aizawa had been trying to figure out what he was going to talk about with Midoriya once the school day was over. Of course nothing could end up going the way it was planned with his chaos class because aa few minutes into the next period Hizashi came in screeching about Midoriya running off. After a quick explanation of what had happened in class, Aizawa took of in search of the kid, telling the overgrown Cockatoo to watch over the anxious Eri that had started crying.
Midoriya's talk with Eri probably startled him more than I thought. He's probably on high alert right now. I have to be careful how I approach him.
And so if Aizawa happened to let out a stream of colorful language as he ran down the hallway then no one would have to know.
He was almost to the entrance when he ran into his adopted son Shinsou.
"Shinsou why aren't you with your class?"
"I figured Uncle Hizashi would be getting you to chase after Midoriya."
"I know you want to help but-"
"I know something is up with him. He didn't sit with his friends at lunch and instead seemed to be coming from the forest. My best bet is he's somewhere in there."
"Okay. Thanks. And don't worry about him I'll take care of it."
Right as he was stepping out the door he heard his son speak up again.
"...Dad... He reminds me of me before you took me in... Do you think he'll be fine?"
Barely spearing him a glance he hesitantly answered, "...I won't lie it seems to be bad... but like I said don't worry about it, I'm going to take care of him."
As he left he could swear he heard Shinsou comment about Dadzawa being at it again, whatever that meant.
He listened to his sons advice and dashed into the forest. After a while of searching almost no signs showed up of the kid. There is not even a sign of him.
I can't find him like this.
*Creak*
Looking up at where the noise came from he could see a familiar mop of green hair tucked into a curled up ball of a child.
"Midoriya"
"Midoriya."
"Midoriya!"
Crap. He can't hear me. Must be to lost in his head.
He looked around before placing his arms on a branch and hoisting himself up. He repeated the process till he was at level with his kid.
"Kid."
He watched as Midoriya slowly looked up, blinking back tears.
"Aizawa-sensei..." Midoriya said, looking like a startled cat, ready to leap at any second.
"Hey kid."
"What are you doing here?"
"I heard something happened in class and-" Before he could finish explaining Midoriya burst into tears wobbling on the branch.
"Hey. We can talk in a second but I think we should at least get to a more secure part of the tree." He reached out his hands and waited until Midoriya latched on before moving to the middle of the tree where he found a nice spot for them to sit. It was a tight fit but he supposed it would work. "Are you sure you want to stay in the tree kid?"
He only received a nod in response.
He turned towards the kid, doing his best to meet his eyes before speaking.
"Alright, kid I know you probably don't want to talk about it but Eri came to me concerned about what you were talking about-"
"Wh-a-t?" Midoriya some how managed to shutter out.
"Don't worry, don't be mad at her. After she told me you used to be quirkless I looked at your file. I explained-"
Midoriya's quirk came to life only to die out when Aizawa activated his quirk. The familiar sting of his dry eyes hit him but he was quick to ignore it. Midoriya burst into tears and tried shuffling away from him.
"Hey, I don't know what you're expecting but know you're not in trouble."
"Huh..." Midoriya finally looked up, sending him a confused glaze.
"I don't know the details of how you used to be treated but I can tell it used to be bad. No kid deserves to go through that, especially some one as great as you."
"D-o you ac-actually believe th-at?"
"I promise kid. I'll help you get better and learn that people can care. Like I said I don't know what kind of treatment you are use to but know it is different know. So many people care for you. Class 1-a, Eri, All Might, Mirio, the other two of the big three, the other teachers, a bunch of other pros, as well as civilians you've helped-"
"An-d occasionally villains..." Midoriya said.
"Yes, occasionally villains too but I know for a fact that I definitely care about you."
With those words he watched as Midoriya managed to sob harder. It didn't take more than a second before he felt Midoriya gripping him tightly. He wrapped his arms around Midoriya in return whispering reassurance into his students ear until he heard his kids breathe even out. He twisted Midoriya into a more comfortable position to sleep in.
Well so much for talking today.
A/N: I finally finished the chapter! I hope you enjoyed! Feel free to leave a comment. Also I just had to keep using the English home work. Don't you dare think I'm done with it. Hahahha.
