Jack found the Doctor slumped on the ground, in one of the abandoned classrooms. Desk were turned to splinters... and a Cauldron was dripping it's contents on the floor... there was a potion vial in the Doctor's hand.

"They did more then block my memories," The Doctor sounded like he would break at any moment. "They altered many."

Jack sighed, "Didn't the nurse say not to."

"I'm not real," The Doctor sounded so broken. "Not real..." hugging his knees, as tears were streaming down his face.

After realizing, there was no comforting the Doctor. Jack got out his TARDIS key... and summoned the TARDIS.

It was a simple matter, from there, to grabbing the phone, and calling the one person he knew could help.

"He's not the Doctor," Jack stared at the Time Lady.

They were standing in the Infirmary, of the Doctor's TARDIS. With the Doctor imposter, sleeping on one of the beds. Romana had forced the Time Tot into this slumber, with some kind of psychic command. Which the tot allowed, given he wanted the blocks reset.

"Of course he's the Doctor," She rolled her eyes, as her fingers were gently spread out, about the tot's face. "He's not just a clone, but a Slither of the Doctor's soul. He's a Meta Crisis. Unfortunately, Human DNA got mixed in. As the Doctor was already half human, this fundamentally altered his conciousness and cognitive abilities.

"His memories are a jumbled mess, Especially where other Time Lords are involved. The Blocks, I'm setting up, will eventually allow him to cope more naturally, with his contradicting memories.

"... The Meta Crisis is only a few months old. He was actually created a week before he stole the Doctor's TARDIS...

"When he hopped over to Susan, I was able to track him. We keep an eye on her. But I wasn't expecting to see him living such a Domestic life... he looked happy, despite the tears. And worse yet, he believed he was the original Doctor... I couldn't bring myself to absorb the timeline he created for himself."

Romana sighed, "He has the Doctor's drive, and his power... but not his restraint to hold back. Not even for the sake of the timeline. Donna acted as the Doctor's conscience... but for this version of him, her compassion drives him to save everyone. Even those he shouldn't..."

"So he's dangerous," Jack realized.

"He's already destroyed your future. We are working on fixing that."

Jack frowned, "What will happen to Harry... if you do?"

"We aren't monsters," Romana insisted. "This alternate Timeline will be sealed off into it's own Pocket Universe. The Harry, you know, can grow up however he chooses... While the original timeline will be restored."

Jack gulped, "The Doctor won't like that." The man, errrr boy... tot? Whatever he was, The Doctor was just re-united with family. Jack already knew the danger of an ordinary man, protecting his family... the Doctor would be a true monster.

"No," Romana confirmed. "We are currently fighting against his future self, as he tries to assert this reality, as the primary Timeline... We have plans for this Harry, to help us with that... It was actually the original Doctor's idea."

Jack shuddered, "The Doctor is warring with himself... how screwed are we?"

"... very... The banished Daleks, in our void, certainly don't help. It's the Time War all over again." Romana sighed, "Time War 2... against the Doctor himself..."

Jack stiffened, "You're not planning to kill him, in the here and now?"

Romana scuffed, "You think far too much like a Time Agent."

Jack flinched.

"No," Romana assured. "We are actually trying to help him. Instead of just re-absorbing this timeline. We are taking steps to preserve it... but in its own reality. The Meta Crisis just can't handle the idea that many of his descendants, will end up suffering, in the main Timeline, without his interference. He wants to save them, in all Timelines... and he's willing to rewrite all of reality to get it done..."

Jack gulped, looking at The Doctor, sleeping on the hospital bed. As Romana sealed off his mind. "The Time Lord Victorious..." he realized. But the idea that he was doing that to save Harry... well it didn't compute with the tales of that demon.

"The Wizards know Armageddon is upon them. It's your job to make sure they don't make things worse."

"... How?"

The Doctor groaned, his head killing him. "Wah?" was his intelligent response to the world.

He remembered brewing a potion, to remove the mental blocks. He remembered drinking the potion... he remembered freaking out and destroying a classroom. But he couldn't, for the life of him, remember what the memories were...

Jack had called Romana, and reset the blocks, because the tot couldn't handle them.

"About time you woke up!" Jack glared at him. "I already missed lunch, and dinner is in a few minutes! Come on Doctor, I'm a growing boy. I really shouldn't be skipping meals."

The Doctor groaned again. His head was really killing him. Jack's yelling wasn't helping. "Did you forget the TARDIS has a kitchen."

Jack blushed, showing he had, in fact, forgotten.

The Doctor gave a slight smirk... then sighed, "Guess the memories really are too much for my child brain to handle." Looking at Jack. "I take it you know what they are?"

Jack said nothing, but the answer was written all over the easily readable face of a child.

"Don't tell me," The Doctor insisted. "I'll learn it eventually. When my mind is mature enough to handle it."

Jack sighed, with clear relief. "Come on Doctor, let's get dinner. Snape will slaughter our hides, if we skip... he may even windup killing yours, if he learns what you were up to, this afternoon."

The Doctor groaned, "My head hurts too much, too deal with that." Forcing himself up, he walked over to a cabinet.

Groaning even more, the Doctor then pulled over a chair, and climbed on top of it in order to reach the cabinet.

"Thank Rassillion the drugs are on the bottom shelf," He grunted, pulling out a bottle, and downing a pill.

Jack gulped, "Aren't Time Lord's, deathly allergic, to aspirin?"

"It's not aspirin," The Doctor assured, putting the meds back, after taking one. "Just a mild pain reliever. To help with psychic Backlash. I might not be a medical Doctor, but I am a field medic." he reminded. "And frankly, a field medic, of Gallifrey, is a few million times more qualified, then a human neuro surgeon."

Jack rolled his eyes. That definitely sounded like the Doctor's arrogance... he was the Doctor, slither of the same soul, or what not. There were just... multiple Doctors? and Jack wasn't sure which one he would end up helping...

This Doctor just wanted to give his grandchildren a better life... he kept messing up the Timeline, in that pursuit... but there was more then one possible reality... and frankly, Jack hated his Time Agent training, focusing on preserving the "right" one...

But it's not like The Time Lords would just poof this reality out of existence. They wanted to preserve both Timelines. They even said they would turn this one into a Pocket Universe, instead of just a Pocket Dimension.

No need to decide now. Jack just needed to watch the Meta Crisis Doctor. See what changes this Doctor'd make. Determine for himself... if this reality would really be so much worse then the Future Jack came from.
