George sat down in silence, his mind still refusing to accept the events. Fred couldn't be gone for the second time. Not without saying goodbye. Not before it was time. They still had some hours left. He cherished every second, held onto them with his life, and his twin just decided he would take an early departure? No, no, no, it wasn't possible.

"The sooner you accept it the better, boy," stated Granny as if she was talking about the weather. Couldn't she understand his pain? His eyes burned with the unshed tears. "Today, tomorrow, what difference would it have made? Would it hurt less?"

"He just left! This time it wasn't a war or an accident. He chose to leave me! How can you expect me to accept it?"

The slap echoed through the walls. Lost in his own grief, George didn't see Kagome leaving his side and raising her hand. He stared at his wife, not knowing how to react. Words failed him.

"How can YOU accept it? Do you really think it was easy for him to be here, watching the life he would never have, seeing the people he loved mourning in advance for his second departure?" She trembled, tears pooling in her eyes. "Stop being selfish, George Weasley. It's not about you. It's about Fred. When you stop thinking about how you feel and try putting yourself in his shoes, you will understand what he went through."
