Chapter 8
The BAU team were heading home after a long case. Derek was asleep on the couch; Emily was absentmindedly looking out of the window and JJ was looking through the case files. While the older two members of the team were drinking their scotch and quietly talking. Their talk was interrupted by Hotch's phone buzzing on the table, both the men saw the name displayed on the screen E. Strauss and sighed in annoyance. Rossi waved his hand at Hotch, non-verbally encouraging Hotch to pick his phone before continuing to drink.
"Chief Strauss" Hotch greeted his boss.
"Agent Hotchner" Strauss said, "Good job with your case. I've been on the phone with Commack, Long Island chief of police and he said that your team worked admirably despite the end results."
"Thank you, Ma'am. I don't mean to offend you but this could have been said at debriefing tomorrow." commented Hotch, he was aware that he had the undivided attention of his team that were currently awake.
"You are right, this is not the reason that I am calling you for" Strauss agreed, "The reason that I am calling is because your team is to stand down for the rest of the week. Your team will have some time off tomorrow."
"Yes Ma'am"
"With recent events concerning the Boston Reaper. Assistant Director Hacker has taken a personal interest in the BAU. I believe that with Dr Reid out of the field and with the Reaper personal vendetta Assistant Director Hacker has decided that instead of IRT gaining a new member, that agent has now been assigned to the BAU. He has personally interviewed a candidate and has appointed them to the BAU, the new agent will be in your office on Friday at 10am and they will officially be starting on Monday. Your team are to stand down until Monday." Explained Chief Strauss.
"Ma'am another member is not the answer to our problems…." Hotch began trying to explain.
"Agent Hotchner" interrupted Chief Strauss, "This is completely out of my hands, this decision has been taken from the top, all we can do is accept it." Strauss effectively cut off Hotch and put the phone down before he could say another word.
Hotch could feel the stares of his team, they were clearly listening to his conversation and waiting for him to clarify what was going on. With a heavy sigh, Hotch turned around and gathered his team and contacted Garcia and Reid via phone so that he could explain what just happened.

Friday
Buffy and Seeley were in the car on their way to Quantico, they had just dropped Conner off at school with the promise that they will be there to pick him up at the end of the day. Seeley had a meeting with Dr Sweets, to see if he was ready to be back in the field. While Seeley was meeting Dr Sweets, Buffy had a meeting with the unit chief of the BAU. The drive to Quantico was in comfortable silence, Buffy and Seeley's talk had really helped and they had found a comfortable routine, and they knew where they stood in their relationship.
Once they got to Quantico, "Hey, you go and get signed in and I will go park the car and meet you by the lifts" offered Seeley, there was a small twinkle in his eye as he smiled at the gorgeous woman sat next to him. Buffy nodded in agreement and pecked Seeley on the cheek before she got out of the car and headed in to get sign in.
Seeley quickly parked the car in his usual place before quickly heading in, he showed his badge to guard before going over to the lifts and waiting there patiently for Buffy to come. Once Buffy signed in at the reception area she headed to the lifts, where Seeley was waiting for her. Once Buffy was close enough to him, Seeley grabbed a hold of her hand. Hand in hand they waited for the lift to open. Both Buffy and Seeley can see in each other's eyes that they were nervous. But before they could comfort each other, the lift arrived and after a rush of people left the lift, Seeley and Buffy finally went in.
Seeley pushed the button to the sixth floor, before pulling Buffy closer to him, he knew she was nervous about joining the BAU. Just as Buffy knew that he was nervous because Dr Sweets still needed to sign off on Seeley being back in the field, and that depended on how the meeting goes today, she knew Seeley doubted that he had recovered enough to be back in the field. So, to redirect his thoughts and her own, Buffy pulled Seeley down to her level and captured his lips with her own. Before either of them could say anything, the lift doors opened to the sixth floor. Buffy sighed against Seeley's lips, before whispering "We will be fine, won't we Angel?" before she walked out of the lift.
Seeley quickly walked forward and blocked the lift doors, so that they couldn't close and he pulled Buffy back to him. "With us together, of course we will" he whispered before he leaned down to kiss Buffy. He the leaned his forehead against hers and teased her lightly, "And you were getting so much better at calling me Seeley". Buffy smiled. "You will always be Angel to me, and if anyone asks it's a personal nickname". Seeley could only imagine how hard it is for Buffy to remember to call him Seeley. They both knew there would times when she would forget and may accidently call him Angel.
Knowing that they were running late, Seeley pressed a quick kiss to Buffy's forehead and said "You've got this". Buffy pulled him down once again and said "You've got this too". And with a quick kiss they let go of each other and Seeley stepped back into the lift allowing the lift doors to close.
As the doors closed, he could see the smile and quiet confidence in Buffy's eyes, and he remember the last time they gave each other this confidence.
It had been a hard day for Angel, the memories and the agony of leaving Buffy still made his heart ache. He had been so surprised to find Cordelia in LA, and that she was being hunted by a demon, but to be honest he shouldn't have been that shocked. Cordelia always seemed to be the target of vampires and demons even ack in Sunnydale.
It was after he met Cordelia, that he decided to open Angel Investigations, so that he could help people that otherwise get help against the supernatural. But there was still a quiet thought of distrust that he could do this. It was that thought that drove him to call Buffy one night.
"Hello" Buffy answered.
Angel didn't say anything, he just quietly listened to Buffy's breathing, "Hello, Hello, seriously why call if- "She didn't finish her sentence and instead she fell silent too for a moment. "Angel" she whispered quietly, her heart beating faster, somehow, she knew if was him on the phone.
"Buffy" sighed Angel. The two of them stayed on the phone to each other, neither of them spoke but their silence said a thousand words. Finally unable to take the silence Angel said, "I know that I promised you a clean break but I need to see you."
"Ok" she agreed without another thought. Together they made the plans to meet in at a hotel in between Sunnydale and LA. They had been there previously, the last time they met there was the summer after Buffy had faced the Master, when she was spending the summer with her father. Neither of them mentioned to the others that they had met that summer.
Two days later, Angel headed to the hotel where he had planned to meet Buffy, he knew that Buffy was on her way and would be arriving soon. He waited for her at the hotel's restaurant.
A short while later he saw Buffy standing at the door of the restaurant, Angel stood up so that she could see where he was waiting for her. A waiter guided Buffy to the booth where Buffy and Angel had a slightly awkward greeting, before they sat down and watched each other in silence. They were interrupted by the waiter for their order, Buffy ordered herself a lasagne dish, while Angel dismissed the waiter. Buffy smiled Angel and took out a thermos of blood that she had brought from his favourite butchers, and handed over to him. Angel took the thermos from her with a quiet, small smile. While they waited for her food, they quietly caught up with each other's lives. Buffy talked to him about her anxieties of starting UC Sunnydale and how it seems that no one needs her. Once Buffy finished talking the waiter came with her food, so while Buffy tucked into her food, and Angel began to drink the blood that Buffy had brought for him. While drinking the blood, Angel explained to her about meeting Cordelia and the plans to open Angel Investigation. Neither of them spoke after that, or offered any advice, they instead quietly basking in being close to each other.
Finally, once Buffy had finished eating and Angel had finished the thermos of blood that Buffy had bought for him. Angel paid the bill quickly and the two to them headed out, an unspoken agreement that neither of them were ready to leave each other.
"I truly hope you know how much you are need in this world Buffy" Seeley started, ending the comfortable silence that enveloped them.
"I know I am, but I don't want my whole life to be about the job. I know I am the slayer and that it is my scared duty but I want to live as well. It's seems that everyone is taking that for granted" snapped Buffy in frustration.
Angel nodded in understanding, "Maybe your friends are just trying to find their feet and Giles is trying cope with not having a job and being there to guide you every day."
Buffy sighed, the thought had crossed her mind too, but my Angel laid out his arguments she knew he was in the right. Buffy knew that college was a new experience and Willow really seemed to be in her element. She could also imagine Giles frustrations of not having anything to do, she herself felt overwhelmed with pent up energy when she hadn't had to slay in the last couple of weeks.
"I think that once everyone is sorted themselves out, everything will be ok."
Buffy looked at Angel, he had on his face that told her that everything was going to be ok, and made her believe that everything will be fine. "I miss this" she commented lightly, not wanting him to feel guilty, "I miss you, I miss being able to talk to you."
"I know I miss this too; you can call me anytime"
Buffy shook her head, "I can't and you know that. If I keep calling you and seeing you, it will keep breaking my heart and yours too."
Angel knew in his head that she was telling the truth, but he wished there was a way that they could still be together.
"I think you should do it" Buffy said suddenly, causing Angel to look at her in confusion. "I think you should open that demon detective agency, but I wouldn't bank on Cordelia."
The slight dig at Cordelia made Angel laugh, before he said, "You think it's a good idea?"
"Yeah, I do. I think this is just what you need to do" Buffy said as she came to a stop. She looked behind her for a moment before she said, "This is my stop".
Angel looked around he realised that they had walked to the bus stop where Buffy would get the bus back to Sunnydale. Looking at her, he realised that she was right they couldn't keep calling and meeting, because saying goodbye was something that neither of them wanted to do.
"This is it isn't it?" she said, a wave of agony hit her when she realised that she was going to goodbye once more to Angel. Angel just nodded his head. Acting on impulse before he could stop himself, he pulled Buffy into his arms and leaned down to kiss her. Buffy froze in shock, she had not been expecting Angel to kiss her, but encouraged by his insistence Buffy started to moan, and kissed Angel back. Slowly Angel pulled away, and rested his forehead against Buffy's and whispered, "You've got this." Buffy responded by holding on to the lapels of his jacket, she kissed his cheek and whispered to him, "You've got this". Angel smiled at her encouragement and kissed her on the forehead before stepping back, Buffy also took a step back and without saying goodbye, she headed to the bus that was heading to Sunnydale. Angel watched as she got on to the bus before he headed back, suddenly feeling the need to dust a few vampires.
As the memories of the past slowly faded from the forefront of his mind, the lift doors opened revealing that he was at his floor. Seeley shook the last lingering memories from his head and headed to Sweet's office. On the way there he met some of the agents that he worked with, they all stopped him to ask after him. Seeley also nodded to some of the busier agents as they waved at him. Once he got to Sweet's office, he could see that Sweets wasn't in there, so he decided to let himself in. Seeley helped himself to a pack of chocolate that Sweets kept hidden in his desk drawer.
Sweets walked into his office, not realising that Seeley had broken in and was currently relaxing on the armchair. So, when he turned around, he was shocked to Agent Booth sitting in the armchair.
"Agent Booth"
"Hey there Sweets" Seeley smirked at the look Sweets was giving him once he realised what Seeley was holding in his hand.
Sweets took a seat opposite of Seeley, "So, how have you been Booth?"
"I am back baby!" cheered Booth.
"When our sense of reality has been challenged it can take some time to regain your footing." Sweets said, ignoring Booth's comment.
"Looks it's been two months since I put my brain box through the blender. I remember how much I hates cats. I do not like clowns and I remember putting Buffy as my emergency contact." Seeley listed.
"Well, that's consistent with the person you were before your brain surgery" Sweets commented.
"So, can I go back to work now?"
Once again Sweets ignored Seeley's question and instead asked, "Have you been in touch with Dr Brennan since your release from the hospital?"
Seeley groaned in frustration and said "Uh, no. It took some time for me to recover and then Conner has been having a hard time, he still thinks something is going to happen to me. But with Bea and Buffy's help he starting to get back into his normal routine."
"Do you really remember everything?"
That question suddenly triggered the memories, that he had just pushed back, to come back to the forefront of his mind. Slowly, Seeley breathed deeply and exhaled and he slowly pushed back the memories. "Yes, all my memories are back and Buffy agrees that the relevant memories are back."
Seeley and Sweets talked a bit longer, Sweets despite wanting to know more about the mystery woman and the relationship between Booth and this Buffy, Sweets was able to rein in his questions. Very soon he agreed that Agent Booth could be reinstated as fit for duty. Sweets handed over Agent Booth's credentials and gun.

Once the lift doors closed, Buffy steeled herself and turned to the glass doors that lead to the BAU unit. After steeling her nerves, Buffy opened the doors and headed in, she could see people at their desks and some milling around. Buffy also noticed the look that the people she passed were giving her. Buffy looked around, but she couldn't be sure where she would find Agent Hotchner. So, she decided to that the best thing would be to ask someone.
"Excuse me, could you tell where I can find Agent Hotchner?" Buffy asked one of the agents walking past her.
"Agent Hotchner? Yes, you will find him in the first office up the stairs" the agent pointed out Agent Hotchner's office.
Buffy thanked the man and headed in the direction of the office. Buffy knocked on the door, after hearing the command to come in, she opened it.
"Agent Hotchner?" Buffy asked the man standing in front of the desk.
"Yes. You must be Miss Summers?" Hotch questioned, looking at the young woman in front of him. She was not who he was expecting at all, the young woman barely reached his shoulders.
"Yes, I am Bu-Elizabeth Summers" Buffy said as she held out her hand to shake Agent Hotchner's hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, please have a seat" Hotch gestured to the chair next to his desk, the two of them their own seats. "As I am sure that you are aware that the job you originally applied for was not for the BAU. It was decided by the Assistant Director that the job for the IRT to be changed to the BAU."
"Yes, I am aware. I have had the chance to work with Agent Garrett and his team, while I was working in London. It was Agent Garrett who recommended me for the job, when I contacted him a few months ago."
"Well, I wanted to ensure that you are happy about the change and that you understand the job role, and that you understand that in the BAU we work stateside" Hotch wanted to make sure that the young woman understood that job in BAU while similar could be different to the job in the IRT.
"Yes, of course, I spoke to Agent Hacker he explained that the posting had changed, he did not go in to details but said that you would explain once I start. However, with changes in my personal life I decided that the posting would be more acceptable" explained Buffy.
Hotch nodded in understanding, "Well, your supervisor speaks very highly of you and you have had an impressive success rate. Agent Garrett has also reached out to me, he assures me that you will be an asset to the BAU. He also wishes for me to tell you that if you ever plan to leave the BAU you will always have a job with IRT."
Causing Buffy to laugh, "Well he is very kind."
Hotch smiled, "Looking through your files, I do believe that Agent Garrett is correct, I do believe that you will be an asset to the BAU." Hotch held out a envelope with Buffy's appointment letter.
"Really?" Buffy asked in shock.
"The Assistant Director has already approved you for this job" explained Hotch.
"He has?" there was a look of confusion on Buffy's face.
"Yes, the interview that you had was with Assistant Director Hacker. So, welcome to the team Agent Summers."
"Thank you, Agent Hotchner" Buffy said as she took the envelope from Hotch and she quickly opened the envelope and read her appointment letter.
"You will officially be starting from Monday, but there are few things that we need to go through before you meet the rest of the team. You will also need to head down to human resources to get your id and papers sorted out. After that you will be taking a firearms qualification and you takedown techniques will also be assessed by Agent Morgan" Hotch as he pulled out some papers from his desk drawer.
Buffy nodded in understanding.
"First, I would like to explain why the posting for the job changed. The reason that the job changed from the IRT to the BAU was because there has been a threat to the team. I am sure you have heard of the Boston Reaper?"
"Yes, of course."
"It seems that the Boston Reaper has taken an interest in the BAU team and in my family, for those reasons my family has been sent into hiding. Also, recently Agent Reid has been hurt during a case and can not join the team in the field. That is why the Assistant Director has decided that a new fresh pair of eyes could help bring in the Boston Reaper quicker" explained Hotch. "Because of these recent events I have decided to keep certain information of the team. I would like to have details about your emergency contact, family information incase they need to be kept safe. your address and any medical information."
She couldn't help but be reminded of the times when the demons and vampires went after her family and friends, she fought more harder to keep them safe, she could only imagine that what the BAU team feel when someone is after them. "Right ok, there is no medical information that you need to know about. I currently live at this address." Buffy handed over a card with Seeley's address on it. "My emergency contact is my partner Agent Seeley Booth; he works in the Homicide division with the Major Crime Unit."
Hotch raised an eyebrow at that information, now that was a name that he knew. Agent Booth was the only person who was signed off to work with the Jeffersonian and from Strauss's grumblings it was because Assistant Director Hacker was in the process of preparing Agent Booth to take over his job in the next few years.
"As for my family information, I am living with my Partner Agent Booth and his son Conner at his flat, that's the address that I have provided you." Buffy finished off, giving Hotch all the information that he had requested.
Once he had finished typing up all the information that Miss Summers had just provided him, Hotch stood up from his desk and looked at his newest team member and said, "let head to the conference room, and you can meet the rest of the team."
Buffy agreed and followed him out of the office and to the conference room. The room had a massive screen on one wall, there was an enormous round table in the middle of the room with eight chairs and there was a white board on the other side of the room. Buffy didn't even notice that Hotch had left the room to call the rest of the team, as she was more interested in the pictures of their previous case.
Hotch left Miss Summers in the conference room and he went over the call his team, "BAU team, can you come up to the conference room." He watched as his team all stood up and headed up the stairs, even Rossi was downstairs in the bullpen waiting to meet their new teammate. Rossi led the rest of the team up to the conference room, he stopped in front of Hotch, while the rest of the team went in to the conference room. "So, what is she like?" questioned Rossi.
"I think she will be interesting to be around and that she knows some important people" Hotch replied, Rossi nodded, he understood what Hotch was trying to say without saying anything.
The two of them headed into the conference room, there they found the rest of the team sizing up their new member. She was not what they were expecting at all, the young woman barely looked older than 25 and she was shorter than they were expecting. While Buffy was still looking at the picture of their last case, they could tell that she was aware of them all staring at her but she didn't react.
"Looks like the unsub was a professional, he has a certain signature but there is difference in each case. There is reason for the mutilation but I don't its for the unsub," said Buffy as she turned around to face the BAU team. She could see that some of the team members were impressed that she picked up certain bits of information that quickly, it was the youngest male, who was in a cast and using crutches that answered her, "Yes you are right, the unsub was a hitman, who was hired to by Judge Schuller was the planner who paid the hitman to kill the people who he believed evaded the justice they deserve."
"Ah I see"
"Miss Summers, this the BAU team, this Agent David Rossi, Agent Emily Prentiss, our technical analyst Penelope Garcia, Agent Derek Morgan, Agent Spencer Reid and this our Communication Liaison Agent Jennifer Jareau, JJ for short" Hotch introduced everyone, while pointing them out to Buffy. "Everyone this Miss Elizabeth Summers, soon to be Agent once she signs the paper work with HR."
Buffy waved, and said, "Everyone call me Buffy or Summers."
"Buffy? I love it." Penelope gushed.
Before Penelope or the rest of the group could say anything, Hotch interfered and said, "Right you will get a chance to get know each other soon. But first, Agent Morgan will show you the way to the HR so you can sign you contract and get your ID and Credentials. Then from there Agent Morgan will take you down to assess your take down techniques and have your firearms qualification done." Derek nodded in agreement to the plan and gestured to Buffy to follow behind him, Buffy nodded to the rest of the BAU team to say goodbye.
/-/-/
Buffy was tired, she had a busy morning, once she had finished up in HR, she had followed Morgan, he said to all him Morgan, down to the gym where they went through the takedown techniques. Those were not that difficult, all the years of training with Giles had taught her how to takedown threats in the quickest way possible. She knew that she surprised Morgan in the efficient way she was able to take him down and the strength that she showed, personally she held back in her strength. After, they went through the takedowns nearly six times, finally the jeering of the agents forced the embarrassed Morgan to stop their assessment. After that they headed for her firearms qualification, on their way there Morgan told Buffy that he would be training with her everyday until he could take her down, Buffy agreed with a smile.
The rest of the morning was spent with the BAU team, getting to know them and leaning how they work. Between Emily, JJ and Penelope, Buffy was given the full details about the situation with the Boston Reaper and how Hotch's family was involved. Morgan and Reid explained how the family had been put in protective services while showing Buffy how they assess the cases that they are sent and how they support the local police by providing a detailed profile. Hotch and JJ had selected old case files for Buffy to practice giving a detailed profile.
It took a while, but once Buffy started to get the hang of giving profiles, they graduated to the team shouting out scenarios and Buffy would have to give them a profile of the type of unsub that they were looking for. After going through at least a dozen different scenarios with Buffy giving them a accurate profile, they all mutually decided to take a break and head for lunch. Hotch had informed the group that they probably could take the rest of the day and asked them to message him and he would confirm whether they needed to come back. The group sans Hotch and Rossi, invited Buffy to join them at a local diner for lunch, also they extended the invitation to Seeley too. Buffy agreed but she decided to head to Seeley's office to find out if he wanted to join them too. So, she got off the lift at Seely's floor while the rest of the team headed to the diner.
Buffy walked across the floor and headed to Seeley's office, she headed inside after seeing that the door was open, inside she found Seeley absorbed in a case file by the looks of it. To get his attention Buffy knocked on the door lightly, as soon as he heard the sound Seeley's head popped up from the file.
"Hey you" Seeley gestured for her to come closer. Buffy crossed the office and came to stand in front of Seeley. Seeley pulled Buffy down to on to his lap, Buffy straddled Seeley, so that they were face to face. "Hi" she grinned before kissing him.
"So, how was it?"
"So, how was it?"
The two of them questioned each other simultaneously, causing the both of them to laugh. Buffy leaned back slightly so that she could see Seeley's face properly, before she said, "It was great, the team seems really wonderful, and they are very close. Agent Hotchner seems a bit suspicious of me because the Assistant Director interviewed me."
A look of surprise crossed Seeley's face at hearing that Buffy had been interviewed by Hacker, "Really Hacker interviewed you? Huh. Well, the BAU team are going to love you once they get to know you."
Buffy smiled at the confidence that Seeley had in her, "So, how did it with Dr Sweets? Did he reinstate you? He must have seeing that I found you stuck in a case file."
"Special Agent Booth is back, Baby." cheered Seeley, "Yeah, Angela thinks that her Psychic has found a case, so I have sent one of the agents down with Bones to have a look. But instead of thinking about all of that, I can think of something better for us to do to celebrate."
Seeley slowly tangled his hands into Buffy's hair, pulling her face closer to his and caressing her lips with his tongue. Buffy's eyes closed as sighed deeply, allowing Seeley access to mouth, the both of them passionately kissing, their tongues fighting for dominance. Seeley's hands slowly slid down to her hips pulling her closer, one of Buffy's hands intertwined itself into Seeley's hair and other slowly slid down to throbbing length.

Meanwhile the BAU team had just ordered their lunch, when Penelope's phone started to beep, indicating she had a message. Penelope started to laugh as she read the message causing the rest of them to look at her, wondering what happened.
"That was Buffy, she and her beau won't be joining us. Something has come up and her and partner have some business to finish." Penelope could barely finish her sentences before she began to giggle. Finally unable to resist, Emily leaned over and took Penelope's phone to see the message, JJ leaned in to see the message from behind Emily shoulder. Once the two of them read the message, both JJ and Emily burst out laughing.
"Penelope is right, Buffy is way too busy to join us at the moment" JJ said while laughing, after hearing what JJ said caused Emily and Penelope to start giggling again.
"Right" said Morgan sharing a look with Reid, which clearly said these women have gone nuts.

"Booth, Agent Smith h….. Oh" Temperance whirled around, so she wasn't facing the kissing, disheveled couple.
"Bones" groaned Seeley, before dropping his face into the crook of Buffy's neck. Buffy giggled, as she pushed Seeley away and got off his lap.
"Where did you throw my top?"
Seeley groaned again, as he stood up from his chair and zipped up his trousers and buttoned up his shirt, "I think I threw in the direction of the couch." He pointing in the general direction of the couch.
"Got it"
Seeley waited until he looked presentable and Buffy had her top back on before, "Ok Bones, you can turn around now."
Temperance turned around to look at the couple, Seeley looked a Bit embarrassed, while Buffy looked neither embarrassed nor angry at her walking in on them.
"I am sorry to interrupt. Buts its good to see again Buffy"
"Don't worry about it and its good to see you again Dr Brennan"
"Please call me Temperance or Brennan"
"Temperance then" Buffy said with an easy smile, all the while Seeley stood next to her, shaking his head.
"So, what's up Bones?" questioned Seeley, wanting this awkward moment over as soon as possible.
"Oh right, yes, I wanted to talk to you about Agent Smith. The man has no idea how I work and he is constantly hovering" huffed Temperance.
Buffy moved away to the stand behind Seeley and she messaged Hotch to find out if he needed her to come back in the afternoon, and also to allow Seeley and Temperance some privacy.
"Smith is a good guy; he is still learning the ropes. But he was a damn good cop, so for the love of everything don't break him, Bones."
"Why are you not part of the case? Have you not been reinstated?" wondered Temperance, "have you not recovered? The doctors assured me that you would recover in few days. Have you spoken to Sweets? What did he say?"
"Bones, Bones you need to breathe. Sweets has reinstated me but I don't officially start back until Monday."
"Since when do you do thing officially?"
"I need to be careful, the higher up are looking closely to make sure things are going smoothly. So, right now things need to be by the book" explained Seeley.
"So, I will have to continue working with Agent Smith?"
"Yes Bones, that the reason that I sent him to you."
"But he doesn't understand the way I work."
"Well, he will learn, plus you have the rest of the squints, Caroline and Sweets will be available for the rest of the duration of the case"
"You do know that we found 12 bodies"
"I do know"
"I thought that you would want to know what happened to these people"
Seeley frowned at the thought of Temperance guilt tripping him into working on the case, "I am sorry Bones, but I am going to sit this one out. I am sure that between you, the squints and Smith you guys will work it out."
Temperance frowned, "Ok, I will see you on Monday", She turned around and left Seeley's office.
Buffy came to stand next to Seeley, "Wow she is uptight."
"Eh, she isn't usually that bad" Seeley said with shrug.
"So, Hotch messaged, he said that we don't need to head back and he will see us on Monday."
"That's good then, you ready to leave?"
"Yep" Buffy picked up her bag from the floor.
"Let's go then. Do you mind messaging Bea and letting her know that she doesn't need to pick Conner up?" The two of them headed out, Seeley had his arm wrapped around of Buffy's, the two them headed over to pick up Conner.
