Chapter 15
TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA LADIES! MY NAME IS ZAYDEN STORMVOID AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER CHAPTER OF WELCOME TO THE MCU!
Last time was the end of Iron Man 2 and today we will be rolling up into Captain America: The First Avenger, my second favorite movie of the MCU Phase 1, barely beating Iron Man and a smidge below Avengers, and still one of my all time favorite superhero movies. Some call it boring, some call it rushed or not exciting, but I really liked it for the morals and heart of Steve Rogers, the true heart of the story. And now we made it here, and I am excited so Let's just hope I don't screw the pooch on this one.
Anyways, before we get into it, first to the reviews!
Azure Dragon of the East: The beginning of the movie itself is a spoiler to the movie as it shows the Valkyrie, Steve and the shield in the ice.
Heil-Hydra2319: Introducing Inko, Mitsuki, and Masaru to the group is an idea that many people have been wishing for and I am incline to agree. The only problem I now face is how to excuse them in the audience without having me bring in everyone's parents. I guess I could just say that they were all busy and also for the three to catch up on four movies and 8 hours of content in one or two days to watch with the group.
OmnipotentAbsoluteUIGodzilla: The pun may not be intended but my laughter was sincere. Also thanks for tempering your expectations, though I will say that your restraint and humbling may be rewarded. We'll see.
Ben the Lesser: Never too late to speak your mind, my friend. Also I find myself a little mischievous in causing a lot of people to wring their heads in who's who. Also your predictions are really sound and make sense, though I will say that while obvious does not mean impossible. I don't just make the counterparts just to screw with you guys, maybe a little, I analyze each character and their similarities to another and some even with personal preferences since this is my fic. If Deku is the obvious for Cap, you can't just say in the next line that Todoroki can't be Winter Soldier because it would be obvious too. Not bashing you for your reasoning, I just wanted to reasonable disagree with parts of your logic that I found illogical, although again I appreciate the out-of-the-box thinking which I respect and encourage.
grilledmonkey: Thanks for the valuable info on the grenade scene, and I think you somehow made this scene better with the grenade knowledge. All I can say is that I'll try my damn hardest but like Yoda said 'Do or Do Not, there is no Try' so I Will not screw the pooch on this.
FShield: Thanks for the IMDM tip. For the point on Peggy as Melissa on the whole foreigner thing, technically that point would be lost since Melissa is a US citizen and pairing her as a US foreigner is a bit off, but the rest sounds great.
DragoonKnightAgnim: I'd say that with what he will say in this chapter, I'm afraid of you actually snatching Monoma and beat him to a pulp. Although if you do, which I will turn a blind eye to, please refrain until after Avengers and during the Interlude chapter afterwards. Anyways onto your review, yep I recently took noticed of that show and couldn't help myself to write that down. As for Ibarra herself, I figured that Katsuki would have respected her strength and courage to go first so I had her take the leap of faith first. Also, I respect that choice of waiting till its all over to get better context as other readers could jump straight to conclusions prematurely and miss the whole point. As for your predictions, I can say that you had Two right and one partially right for including her in the or category. Again, wait till the end of the chapter for the reasons why. Also great suggestion for when I get there, as I myself found that scene both a mix of terrifying and hot. Anyways, enjoy that chapter. *Subtly sends coordinates to Monoma's multiversal coordinates and opens portal to universe*
As always, here is the index:
"Zayden." -Normal Dialogue
'Zayden.' -Internal or Mental Dialogue
"Zayden." -Movie, Dark Shadow, and All Might buff form Dialogue
"Zayden." -? Dialogue
"Zayden." -F.R.I.D.A.Y. Dialogue
And as always, explanations for counterparts will be in the end notes, so please read them before you burn me at the stake. But regardless, I am confident that I am going to get a hail storm of hate coming for me after this.
And finally, I do Not own My Hero Academia, property of Horikoshi sensei and Bones Studios, prays and hopes go out to them for a great Season 5, or the MCU, which belongs to Disney, aka the evil overlords, Marvel, who I swear to God better not fuck up the MCU with politics and wokeness like Lucasfilm, and Sony, and I do not take credit for the movies made by the amazing actors, actresses, directors, and studios.
Now, Let's Go!
Captain America Part 1: The Right Stuff
Third POV
The group reconvened as Iida and Hawks brought the snacks and drinks for everyone by hauling two large carts worth of popcorn, drinks, and candy. As the group dug in and picked out their snacks, Bakugou and Ibarra walked back into the gym/now theater. The group noticed that the two were blushing up a storm and could barely look at each other without whirling their heads away, their blushes growing larger.
The two wordlessly grabbed their snacks, a lemonade for Ibarra and a Coke and pack of Flaming Hot Cheetos for Bakugou, and made their way to their seats. Where they were obviously hounded by their friends.
"So, what happened?!" Setsuna whispered/yelled the minute Ibarra sat down. "How did it go?!"
"Tokage!' Itsuka whispered-yelled too in indignation. "Ibarra's situation is none of our business!"
"Oh hush, you know you want to hear the deets too." Setsuna retorted.
"U-Um, actually I would prefer to 'share the deets' with you all." Ibarra said.
"Are you sure?" Reiko asked.
"Yes." Ibarra said. "I feel that sharing with you all is better than just keeping it to myself."
The girls, including now Itsuka, leaned in.
"So, what happened, bro?" Kirishima questioned, setting down the popcorn in his hands. "What happened out there?"
"I don't got to tell you nothing, Shitty Hair!" Bakugou hissed out. "To any of you!" He turned his glare to the nose-dropping guys around him, including Deku, Sero, Kaminari, and Tetsutetsu.
"Come on, man." Kaminari whined. "The suspense is killing us here! This is High School Drama 101!"
"Plus, I can't be a good wingman if you don't tell me what happened." Kirishima pointed out.
Bakugou gave a tired groan of annoyance out. "Fine!" He grunted out. "We agreed to talk about 'that' and 'us' over for dinner sometime."
"YES!" Both the guys and the girls around the two yelled out in victory, causing for Ibarra to hide her face in her hands while Bakugou was blushing so hard and enraged at the same time, steam was hissing out his head.
After a series of apologies for the loud outburst, and keeping Bakugou from killing the guys, Nezu gestured to Mei to start the next video. Mei moved to the next unlocked file, the name of it reading Captain America: the First Avenger. As she clicked on it, all that was shown for an image was the name in blue over a white stripe with red stripes below and on top of the white.
"The First Avenger." Momo mouthed. "Does this mean that the Avengers Initiative was founded by this Captain America as the first member or was he the first to join?"
"I guess we will find out." Kyouka said.
Mei clicked the play button the screen turning black.
The video began with nothing but darkness and howling winds. Color came alive in grey, snow whirling through and clouding the screen.
Light pierced through the grey and snow and revealed the headlight of a car that illuminated the screen in white. The light receded back to grey as a figure came through the darkness of the snowstorm, the man in heavy amounts of winter clothes and a flashing beacon in hand. The car stopped in front of him, the driver and passenger hopping off the vehicle and walked towards the other man.
"Are you the guys from Washington?" The man with the beacon asked.
"You get many other visitors out here?" The lead man asked jokingly.
"Where is the here that they are even at?" Kaminari asked. "The North Pole?"
"Actually, you are not far of, Kaminari." F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied. "They are indeed around the Northern Hemisphere."
"Wow, Jamming Yey actually got something right." Kyouka said. "With Bakugou getting a date and now this, I think will not be surprised if a black hole just opened up in front of us."
"How long have you been on site?" The last man questioned.
"Since this morning." The man with the beacon replied as the three men started walking. "A Russian oil team called it in about 18 hours ago."
"So they are there because they found something in the ice?" Kosei asked.
"Seems like it." Awase said. "Though what did they find? A frozen caveman?"
"How come nobody spotted it before?" The third guy asked further.
"Its really not all that surprising." The first man answered. "This landscape's changing all the time."
"You got any idea what this thing is exactly?" The man asked the two arriving men.
"I don't know." One of them replied. "Its probably a weather balloon."
"I don't think so." The man replied with a slight chuckle. "You know, we don't have the equipment for a job like this."
"How long before we can start craning it out?" The driver asked.
"I don't think you guys quite understand." The man said. "You guys are going to need one hell of a crane."
The screen paned to show them coming up to a group of people inspecting a large, black object sticking, slanted, out of the ice. One of the people stood on top of it with a search light. The men stopped before the object, both their faces scrunched in confusion. The screen paned away to show the top of object, and the red beacon lights that spread out to form the outline of a large object shaped like an arrowhead.
"Jesus." Setsuna cursed wide-eyed.
"Is that some kind of ship?" Melissa said. "Its looks a bit like a Stealth Bomber, but way bigger."
The scene changed to a large machine drilling a hole into the ice with a powerful green laser. Several rotation later and the clang of metal resounded revealing an ice filled area, stairs, beams, and fences all around covered in ice and snow. The two men, now outfitted in hazmat-like suits, were lowered down and looked around the dark, icy room.
"The place does appear human in the making and engineering." Power Loader said. "Then again, despite the fact we have aliens posing as gods, I can't exactly tell either way."
"Base, we're in." One of the men said, a radio voice replying with a standard "Copy that."
As the men looked around, one of them asked "What is this?"
The two walked a few more steps, the second man's flashlight illuminating the end of the room, windows revealing more of the ice they were under, a panel of machines, and a chair.
"Looks like the cockpit of whatever this ship is." Ryukyu noted.
The two men drew closer, one of them stumbling on a piece of creaking metal.
"Careful." The other man called out.
As the two reached to the chair, one of them focused his light on an object that caught his attention. He crouched and wiped away the snow. "Lieutenant!" The man called out, his partner turning around to where his partner called from. The Lieutenant shined his light on what his partner discovered. "What is it?" The man questioned.
"My God." The Lieutenant gasped.
"Base, get me a line to the Colonel." The Lieutenant ordered through the coms.
"Its 3:00 am, sir." The man on the radio replied.
"I don't care what time it is." The Lieutenant responded. "This one's waited long enough."
The screen showed, shined by the man's light, the red and white striped disk, with a white star over a blue circle in the center.
"Wait, its that disk thing from that second post credit scene." Uraraka pointed out.
"So that's where they got it from." Asui said. "Question is, what were they thawing out and said it was alive?"
With a bang, the screen turned black once more, the sounds of gunfire suddenly piercing through the drumming noise.
Tonsberg, Norway. March 1942.
"1942?" Nejire said confused. "Isn't that during that WWII thingy that we were on the bad guys side?"
"I think its best we try not to remind ourselves about that." Ojiro replied with a sweatdrop over his head.
The screen came to life again to reveal a cloudy night over Germanic-styled buildings and houses, with one larger structure, that looked like a church, the light of the full moon peeking through the curtain of clouds. A man ran towards the church-like building, huffing in a hurry, as the sound of explosions and gunfire sounded in the back.
"What's with the explosions?" Hagakure asked.
"You forgot what Hado said." Momo pointed out. "This was a time where all of Europe was engulfed in war."
The man rushed into the building, the room lit by numerous candles. He turned to see an elderly man rushing down the steps towards him.
The man yelled in Norwegian, the subtitles reading "They have come for it!"
"It?" Kosei questioned. "What it?"
"Maybe if you shut the hell up and let movie play, we will know!" Bakugou roared.
"They have before." The elderly man replied.
The man sealed the door with a wooden bar, before turning to the elderly man saying "Not like this."
"Let them come." The elderly man said. "They'll never find it."
"How many think that he's going to be proven wrong in the next 5 minutes?" Hawks questioned.
Most of the hands in the group raised, the others who didn't just not bothering to care.
The sounds of loud rumbling made the two men whirl around in confusion, the chandeliers and metal objects rattling around. The rumbling sound finally stopped as the two men stared at the door. Before the two could breathe of sigh of relief, the door broke apart, the old man stepping back while the stones fell onto the younger man.
The elderly man coughed and wiped away the dust, seeing a large metal object creating the large opening where the door was, the machine whirring and shifting out of the way. The elder rushed to where the younger man was, removing a large stone to reveal the man with a large bloody mark on his head, his eyes open but clearly dead.
"Oh no." Pony yelled, covering her mouth at the unfortunate fate of the young man.
"An unfortunate casualty." Vlad King said. "Although what was that machine that knocked that wall down?"
"Not sure." Power Loader said. "Looked like a Front Loader, but they weren't made back then."
The scene shifted back to reveal the work to have been done by a large mechanical machine, the machine moving back and away from the wreckage as a long, black car rolled in, the car stopping as its hood ornament was shown to the screen.
The hood ornament being a black ring around a black skull, three black tentacles sticking out and curling out from the skull.
"Well that's a bad guy car." Kaminari stated the obvious.
"What gave it away?" Sero asked. "The black color or the hood ornament?
The black, leather boots of the diver were shown, stepping out of the car and walking. Inside the building, three soldiers dressed in black, black helmets on their heads, and a red insignia on their shoulders that matched the car's headpiece, were struggling to push open the top of a coffin. Another man, this one dressed more in a black, military outfit and cap roared at the soldiers, yelling "Open It!"
"Are those actual Nazis?" Kinoko asked.
"Most likely." Iida said. "Their attire is similar to German WWII military attire and the time setting of WWII fits."
"However, what does that symbol mean?" Reiko pointed to the symbols on their shoulders. "Its not anything that I have ever seen and they are all wearing it."
The elderly man groaned up to his feet as similarly dressed soldiers marched inside, some standing next to him. "Quickly!" The commander yelled again. "Before he-" The man stopped as he turned to the newly made opening, the soldiers ceasing their work and turning to where the commander looked.
There at the entrance was the figure of a tall man, dressed entirely in black leather, from a black leather coat with the tentacled skull pinned on his side, pants, boots, gloves, and a black hat with the Nazi symbol of the Third Reich and the tentacled skull on it. He stood there before them before walking in. "It has taken me a long time to find this place." The man spoke in a German accent.
The screen showed the man's very familiar face. "You should be commended." He said.
Izuku's eyes widened in horror.
"Wait," Uraraka said, her eyes widening as well. "I-Is that-"
"MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART DETECTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. paused the video on the man's face. "JOHANN SCHMIDT! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART: TENKO SHIMURA AKA TOMURA SHIGARAKI!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. pulled up an image of the League of Villain's leader, both his gnarled, scratched up face and his usual hand-over-face appearance.
The group's eyes widened at the reveal of the Leader of the League of Villains. The students of Class 1-A, that remembered the appearance of the man during the attack on the USJ, shivered the familiar Villain, including Deku and Uraraka, from their encounter with the Villain at the mall, Asui and Mineta, the former remembering his hands on her face and almost being turned to dust, and Bakugou, who growled as he remembered the Villains kidnapping him to try and change him to their side, leading to All Might's retirement in an attempt to save him.
The Class 1-B students shivered too at the dangerous Villain, seeing the criminal that attacked their fellow class for the first time. The man's very appearance led to many who still held resentment towards Class 1-A's moment in the spotlight because of the USJ, beside Monoma, quickly realized how lucky they were not to face that.
The heroes and teachers glared at the face of the LOV leader, most especially Aizawa, for the Villain's constant attacks towards his class and students. The insomniac teacher subconsciously scratched his elbow at the memory of his Decay Quirk. The other pros frowned at the Villain's reveal, including Endeavor, who has to deal with finding and defeating the Villains since he became Number 1 and Hawks, mentally hoping that Skeptic and the rest of the PLF are not currently watching through the cameras in his feathers.
"Why am I not surprised that this guy of all the Villains is apparently counterparts to a Nazi?" Hawks muttered.
All Might and Gran Torino frowned at the grandson of their master/friend. Seeing the scratched up, crackling face of his master's/friend's grandson and now as a Villain in another world made the two grumble in rage at the unfairness of this world. Or rather of multiple worlds.
"Help him up." The counterpart to Shigaraki ordered, a soldier lifting the elderly man from the ground to face Schmidt.
Schmidt came up to the elderly man and wiped the dust away from the elderly's man's clothes saying "I think that you are a man of great vision. And, in this way, we are much alike."
Bakugou growled in anger, remembering all the bullshit words and attempts to persuade him the same Villain said to him when he was kidnapped.
"I am nothing like you." The elder growled at him.
"No, of course," Schmidt continued. "But what others see as superstition, you and I know to be a science."
"What you seek is just a legend." The elder told him.
"Then why make such an effort to conceal it?" Schmidt asked in reply.
"That's a good point." Itsuka said. "Though people do care and guard stuff of legends and myth because it feels sacred to them."
He turned and walked to the coffin, taking off his cap, revealing his short, styled back, white hair, and handing the cap to one of the militarily dressed men. He placed his hands on the top of the coffin and easily shoved it away, it landing to the ground in a thud.
"Jesus, how strong is he?" Sato asked. "Three of those Nazi guys were struggling trying to move that and he easily did it himself."
"Could it be this man's ability or some scientific augmentation?" Tokoyami questioned.
Inside the coffin was a skeleton, dressed in Nordic styled clothing and armor, a Viking helmet on the skeleton's head, a cape behind its skeletal corpse, and a sword placed on his lower chest and trailed down his body.
"Well that is just gross." Mina gagged at the sight of the Viking skeleton.
But, most intriguing of which, was the object in the skeleton's clasped hands. Schmidt removed the object from the obscurity of the skeleton's hands to fully show that the object was a glass, whitish-blue cube.
"Wait, is that the same cube that Mr. Aizawa's counterpart showed at the end of Thor?" Asui asked.
"It does look like it, but its not sparking in or glowing like before." Melissa pointed out.
"Maybe its not turned on or something?" Kaminari proposed.
"The Tesseract was the jewel of Odin's treasure room." Schmidt spoke as he inspected the cube.
"The Tesseract?" Gran Torino repeated. "That must be the name of that glowing Cube thing."
"And he mentioned Odin, who should be in Asgard and real if this is in the same universe." David reminded. "But why would something like that be on Earth and not Asgard?"
"It could be for safekeeping in an attempt to hide it from greedy hands for whatever purpose it serves." Endeavor replied.
He turned and showed off the cube to the elder...before dropping it, shattering to pieces on the floor.
"What?!" Nejire questioned aloud. "Why did he just break it? Isn't it suppose to be intact in the present?"
The soldier he gave the cap to was shocked before Schmidt spoke "It is not something one buries." He walked back to the elder. "But, I think it is close, yes?"
"So its a fake." Ryukyu said. "Meant to misdirect and confuse thieves, but they kept the real one nearby in case it needs to be moved or even used."
"I cannot help you." The elder revealed.
"No." Schmidt agreed nodding, before turning to the entrance he entered from. "But maybe you can help your village." He turned back to the old man. "You must have some friends out there. Some little grandchildren, perhaps?"
"What?!" The students gasped in horror and rage.
The old man stared at the LOV's leader's counterpart in disgusted horror. "I have no need for them to die." Schmidt said.
The elder whirled to see the large machine outside, now fully visible as a large tank slowly turn its top half towards the village behind it.
"Threatening to kill people to obey is super Unmanly!" Kirishima yelled.
"You said it, bro." Tetsutetsu grumbled.
"Wait that tank looks really advanced." Melissa pointed out. "Way more advanced than technology and weaponry they had back in WWII."
"You're right." Mei said as leaned in her seat, her Zoom Quirk eyes inspecting the on-screen tank. "Its way larger than an average German tank, practically half as or just as tall as those houses, and its movements are way more advanced and high tech than even our world has."
"Maybe this world had created greater technology sooner than our world." Izuku said.
"Would make sense." Todoroki replied. "In the present, we do have Bakugou creating an A.I. system, a suit of armor that can fly and fire lasers, and holograms."
The elder's form shook before he subtly gestured to behind Schmidt. The black clothed German looked behind him to see a carving on the wall of a large tree, a depiction of a city on its top, a rainbow them both, and the tree's roots trailing and spreading downward.
Schmidt casually walked towards the carving. "Yggdrasil." He spoke. "Tree of the world." Schmidt looked down the carving from the city over the tree down to the trunk and roots. "Guardian of wisdom." Schmidt looked a peculiar part of the carving. "And also Fate."
"Very knowledgeable of Norse Mythology." Momo noted. "It would make sense considering that Norse Mythology is most prevalent known in Norway and Northern Germany."
He walked closer towards part of the carving he found intriguing, more so a carving of a snake and its eye. Schmidt pressed on the eye of the snake, an unlocking noise sounded, and the part of the carving it was on shifted and stuck out. Ominous music played also as Schmidt pulled out a small box, the elder's eyes widening in horror.
"Well shit, he found it." Fat Gum cursed.
Schmidt turned around, looking to the elder and his soldiers before opening it. As it opened, he was basked in blinding blue light, a humming, almost melodic sound escaping from the box. Schmidt gazed in wonder at a glowing, blue cube, that seem to shift inside it, as if a space itself to shift inside.
"Okay now That is the real one." Sero said. "Right?"
"Its certainly glowing more than it did when we first saw it in Thor." Ojiro replied.
"And the Fuhrer digs for trinkets in the desert." Schmidt said in amazement.
"Fuhrer?" Hagakure questioned.
"It means a ruthless tyrannical ruler, that was also a title for Hitler." Iida answered.
"Okay, and follow up question, what did he mean by 'digging for trinkets in the desert'?" Hagakure asked further.
"Hitler was a religious zealot that would often send his troops to search for Jewish artifacts of power hidden in Egypt like the Ark of the Covenant." Momo replied. "There are even rumors that he obtained the Spear of Destiny, or the spear that pierced the side of Jesus Christ during the Crucifixion."
"You have never seen this, have you?" Schmidt said to the elder.
"Its not for the eyes of ordinary men." The elder warned.
"Exactly." Schmidt agreed, before closing the box. He smiled sinisterly before grabbing his cap from the lieutenant. "Give the order to open fire."
"What?!" Nejire yelled. "B-But he practically told you where it was with that head nod!"
"He's making sure that there are no witnesses to what he stole from the town." Aizawa answered, eyes narrowed in anger.
"Plus, he Is a Nazi." Mic pointed out. "When do you trust a Nazi not to lie?"
As his men spoke in German and Schmidt put on his hat and began to walk away, the elder shouted "Fool! You cannot control the power you hold. You will Burn!"
"I already have." Schmidt replied, pulling out handgun towards the approaching elder and firing, the elder falling on the floor dead, the tank behind him opening fire as well.
The group growled in anger at what Shigaraki's counterpart had done, Izuku growling in rage, clenched fists sparking lighting and Black Whip behaving erratically. He was only brought to his senses by comforting the whimpering of Eri being prayed witnessed to all this.
Schmidt looked to the dead elder, shifting the side of his cheek and mouth, it moving as if it were flexible. The panel moved downward to reveal the silver pin of the tentacled skull, its skull now painted red with the elder's blood.
"Ugh, that looked gross." Uraraka gagged. "Why was his face so flexible?"
"Could it have to do with his clear power of super strength?" Kyouka pondered.
"Or could it be a mask?" Itsuka jumped in. "Also what was so significant of that skull pin to have its skull red in that old man's blood?"
"Johann Schmidt's nickname among the ranks of the Nazi party was was called the Red Skull." F.R.I.D.A.Y. answered.
"Red Skull?" Kaminari repeated. "Why that? Because he kills people and then paints their skulls red in blood or something?"
"TMI dude." Mineta gagged. "Now I can't get that image out of my head."
"Unfortunately, I cannot tell you." F.R.I.D.A.Y. said.
"Why?" Izuku asked. "Is it another classified piece of information?"
"Why spoil the surprise?" F.R.I.D.A.Y. cheekily replied.
Some were disappointed at the unwillingness to answer but most just chuckled at the A.I.'s mannerisms, while Melissa, David, Mei, and Power Loader were still amazed at how sentient the A.I. was that it could make jokes and self-conscious decisions.
The scene changed to a shot of a city, tall skyscrapers looming high to sky, a large bridge, and the bustling sounds of the city below.
"Its New York!" Melissa yelled excited.
"You sound excited, Melissa." Izuku noted.
"Oh! I love going to New York!" Melissa replied excitingly. "All the sites, the fashion, the cool inventions at one of Daddy's labs. Ooh, you should totally come over with us over there sometime. We can...you know...h-hang out o-or something."
The girls narrowed their eyes at the blush on Melissa's face and her obvious attempt at asking Izuku out on a date.
"Sure." Izuku obliviously replied, much to the girls' horror and Melissa blushing excitement. "It would be nice to hang out in cool place with a friend."
"Y-Yeah a friend." Melissa's eyes twitched at the final part, the girls sighing in relief.
"How oblivious is this kid?" Mic groaned, smacking his face.
"O'Connell, Michael." A man's voice voiced as the scene changed to a room full of shirtless men sitting on benches, most of them ready newspapers.
"Looks like a WWII enlistment center." David said.
"Kaminsky, Henry." One of the guys reading the paper perked up and got off the bench.
The screen moved to the left to show two other men on the bench, one reading a small paper and showing a bit of his muscular body, and the other reading a larger paper, covering his whole form.
"Boy, a lot of guys getting killed over there." A voice spoke from behind the larger paper.
"Wait...that voice." Momo said, her eyes widening.
"C-Could it be..." Uraraka jumped in, eyes widening too.
"Rogers, Izuku." The man's voice spoke out.
The newspaper was set down a bit to reveal the familiar face of Izuku Midoriya, or rather Izuku Rogers.
"IZUKU?!/MIDORIYA?!" The group yelled out.
Izuku gaped in surprise at his sudden reveal.
"Cool!" Mirio said pumping his fist into the air. "Looks like its your time to shine in a movie, Deku!"
"Yay!" Eri cheered. "Papa is in the movie!"
"Erk!" Kirishima clenched his chest where his heart is. "I'm gonna die if she continues being so freaking adorable!"
All Might smiled at seeing how his successor also has a counterpart in this universe.
"Wait, that means that Midoriya was around for WWII, but isn't his mom in the present?" Mineta questioned.
"If you mean that Midoriya should be in the present because his mother's counterpart is in the present, that would be a flawed statement." Iida said. "While Bakugou's parents are the same in this world, it would be rather presumptuous to claim that all our family relations would remain the same throughout another universe."
"Agreed." Jurota jumped in. "For example, Thor, who is All Might's counterpart, is the son of Odin, who's counterpart is Yoroi Musha. And I'm pretty sure the two aren't related here either."
"I'm actually more concerned that you all are missing that Midoriya is enlisting to go to war in WWII." Todoroki pointed out.
The results of said statement caused the cheery mood at Midoriya's counterpart reveal to take a steep dive off a cliff.
Izuku, his hair cut shorter and more darker but with tinges of green still present, set down the whole paper, revealing more of his body. His thin, skinny, small body.
"Woah, dude, why are you so scrawny?" Kaminari asked.
"Its not like you aren't any better, Jamming Yey." Kyouka butted in. "You are a sandwich away from scrawny."
"Back to the point, Midobro, were you ever this skinny here?" Kirishima asked. "How did you get from that," Kirishima gestured to Izuku's skinny, movie figure. "To that?" He gestured to their Izuku.
"U-Um, a spent a lot of time training before U.A." Izuku answered shyly. "I spent 10 months cleaning Dagobah Beach before I got into U.A."
"Wait, that was you?!" Mina asked shocked.
"Y-Yeah." Izuku replied, blushing wildly at Mina's close proximity. "A-A m-mentor of mine helped train me to prepare for the Entrance Exam."
Aizawa glanced towards All Might, who was doing a terrible attempt to not be noticed.
Meanwhile, seeing the skinny form of Izuku once again made Bakugou flinch, his heart weighed in guilt and self-loathing. He could practically feel the muscle memory of his explosions striking Izuku's skinny body still.
As Izuku got up, the guy next to him smirked at him as he looked over his body. "It kind of makes you think twice about enlisting, huh?" The guy teased/asked.
Izuku set down the paper and spoke with one response before walking away. "Nope."
"Classic Deku." Uraraka said, with a smile. "Brave and selfless. No matter the universe."
At the nods of confirmation from the students of 1-A, Izuku blushing up a storm in embarrassment at the praise
Izuku Rogers stood second in the line of guys leading to an officer and a stack of papers, multiple military propaganda and enlisting posters around them.
As the guy in front of him walked away, Izuku walked up to the officer. "Rogers." The officer named as he looked up from the papers, raising an eyebrow at Izuku's skinny form. "What did your father die of?" The officer asked.
"Mustard Gas." Izuku answered. "Irish. Immigrated to America before I was born. He was in the 107th Infantry. I was hoping I could be assigned-"
"Your mother?" The officer asked, interrupting his explanation.
"She was a nurse in a TB ward." Izuku explained, his eyes a bit downcast before shaking his head. "Got hit. Couldn't shake it."
"Oh man, I know this isn't really you you but sorry for the loss, dude." Kaminari said sincerely.
Izuku lowered his head, his eyes shadowed by his hair. While he couldn't see his father dying, as he never remembered the guy after he left him and his mother behind, what made it worse was imaging All Might in his father's place. And imaging his mother and All Might dying...Izuku gritted his teeth, struggling to keep back the tear in his eye.
Mirio placed a hand on the green-haired teen's shoulder in comfort, while Eri and Melissa hugged Deku who wordlessly allowed it. Likewise, the girls likewise allows one of their rivals hugging their collective crush without a fuss. Bakugou looked over at Deku, realizing that both he and his rival's parents are dead in another world, which he found rather 'shitty'.
"Um, on a more brighter side of things, did Midobro say that his father was Irish?" Kirishima said, trying to steer the conversation away from the dead parents.
"Y-Yeah, that's right!" Mirio immediately replied with a smile. "So, Midoriya, is your dad really Irish? Are you actually some Japanese-American?"
"U-Um, no." Izuku replied, wiping the tear off his face. "My dad, what I know of him, was Japanese. I guess he is someone different here."
The officer looked over Roger's extensive list of health issues ranging from Asthma, heart trouble, to Sinusitis, to his parent/sibling diagnosed with diabetes.
"Jesus." Setsuna cursed. "How can someone have so many illnesses and health issues?"
"Please tell me that you don't suffer similar things, Izuku?" Momo asked.
"N-No, I don't. Thankfully." Izuku replied. 'I'm actually quite surprised with how shitty the universe was to me before All Might that I didn't have asthma or something.'
"Sorry, son." The officer said as he looked to Izuku.
"Look, just give me a chance." Izuku sighed and pleaded.
"You'd be ineligible on your asthma alone." The officer replied.
"Is there anything you can do?" Izuku asked, his tone sounding desperate.
"I'm doing it." The officer said. "I'm saving your life."
He stamped the paper, the paper reading 4F.
Izuku sighed, his eyes filled with frustration and disappointment.
"Well that's no fair." Hagakure grumbled.
"The officer there is doing the right thing." Endeavor said. "It would be incredibly foolish to send an asthmatic into a war zone filled with smoke and gunfire. He would be a liability in the field and likely get himself and likely others trying to save him killed."
"True, although I think you might have went too far with that last part, Endeavor." Ryukyu replied, sweat-dropping at the furious glares from the girls being towards Endeavor.
Izuku flinched once more, his life flashing before his eyes of the days at Aldera and all the taunts and words thrown at him.
"Deku? A Hero? Ha! That's Hilarious!"
"There's no way!"
"Sorry, kid, its not going to happen."
"I'm sorry, Izuku."
"Pray for a Quirk in your next life and take a swan di-"
Izuku tried to clear the words away from his head, trying to focus back on the screen.
"War continues to ravage Europe." A narrator voiced as the scene changed to a film showing images of WWII including the Nazi symbol, war, and destruction. "But help is on the way." The film showed a line full of men marching down and another of a man inspecting a line of shirtless men with a stethoscope. "Every able-bodied young man is lining up to serve his country."
The screen changed to show the film being played in a theater full of people. Among these movie viewers included Izuku Rogers, the irony of the statement not lost to him.
"Even little Timmy is doing his part." The narrator said as they showed an image of a little boy in a private's hat picking up junk and passing it on. "Collecting scrap metal. Nice work, Timmy."
"Ouch." Sen said. "That's gotta sting after getting recently rejected."
As Izuku watched with increasing jabs to his pride, a man shouted out "Who cares? Play the movie already!"
"Hey, you wanna show some respect?" Izuku whispered.
"Yeah, tell him, Midobro!" Kirishima cheered. "Those type of dudes are super Unmanly!"
"Meanwhile, overseas," the announcer and film continued uninterrupted. "Our brave boys are showing the Axis powers that the price of freedom is never too high."
"Let's go!" The man shouted again, Izuku noticing a young lady to his left, practically close to bawling her eyes out.
"Why is that lady crying?" Uraraka asked.
"It could be that her husband, boyfriend, or whatever enlisted and is fighting in the war right now." Asui said.
"Get on with it!" The man continued shouting, disturbing multiple viewers. "Hey, just start the cartoon!"
"Hey, you wanna shut up?!" Izuku snapped and yelled to the interrupting douche.
"Yeah!" Hagakure cheered. "You tell him, Midori!"
Said interrupting douche slowly stood up and turned to Izuku. "Together with Allied Forces, we'll face any threat, no matter the size." The announcer spoke, as the large man stood before the small Rogers.
"Oh boy." Kosei said. "I think I might know where this is going."
The large man punched Izuku to the ground of the alleyway they were in, Izuku falling next to some trash cans.
The reaction towards this was instantaneous.
The girls of Class 1-A had to practically be restrained by their male classmates, while Setsuna was silently shaking in rage in her seat. Nejire had to be restrained by Mirio and Amajiki from rushing towards the screen in fury, and even Mei and Melissa were super close to rushing to built a portal through dimensions to murder the dude.
The guys meanwhile were not taking too well on their friend and classmates being beaten up either. Todoroki was so pissed off that he was sparking flames from his side, Mirio was keeping himself busy keeping Nejire calm to distract his own anger, and even Aoyama was so keen on lasering the screen with his Naval Laser. The 1-B flinched at the scene unfolding, with some also growing rather angry. Hell, even Monoma was smart enough to know that this was an appropriate time to keep his mouth shut.
The teachers and pros likewise had a problem with the scene. While most were obviously upset at their student being assaulted in front of them, other world or not, All Might was practically glowing in pure rage and hatred hat even frighten the likes of Endeavor near him. Aizawa too glared murderously at the screen, his eyes red and hair standing up.
Izuku responded in silence, his hair shadowing his eyes. Once more the jeers returned in force in his mind, this time with the multitude of beating that left him returning home bruised, beaten, burnt, and thrown up joining in. Izuku flinched as the shadow of the pain and heat from a certain blonde's explosions flare up in his skin. He also remembered the guilt he felt in coming home, lying and hiding the burns and bruises from his mother as he silently bore the pain to himself.
Bakugou would have felt murderous towards the scumbag's actions if he didn't feel immediately sick to his stomach. Just as Izuku felt the shadowy feeling of his pain, Bakugou felt the memory of inflicting those injuries by the muscle memory of his hands. Where Izuku remembered going home limping after a beating, Bakugou remembered all the times he inflicted said beatings and would leave De-Izuku whimpering on the ground laughing. He also remembered how he lied through his teeth whenever he told his mother where he was was and what he was doing. And when he lied to the mother of his victim that he considered an aunt.
Eri's whimpering and tears brought the two out of their painful memories. Izuku immediately went to console the white-haired girl, while Kouta growled in hatred at the scumbag at what he was doing to his idol. As for Bakugou, seeing the tears of the girl that called him 'Uncle Kacchan' nearly caused him vomit out of self-disgust and horror.
Izuku quickly got back up, only to get knocked back down by another punch. "Stay down, you Japanese scum." The guy growled out.
"Woah! Woah! What The Hell Was That About?!" Kamakiri yelled, himself offended.
"In WWII, Japan was part of the Axis powers and were responsible for the attack on Pearl Harbor." Snipe replied. "That directly lead to the America's joining in the war, and you can imagine the hatred and racism towards Japanese immigrants were on the basis of one of them being a spy."
Izuku quickly grabbed hold of a trashcan lid and got back up, holding it in front of him like a shield. The gesture was proven useless as the man ripped the lid from Roger's hands and punched him down again.
Eri whimpered at the sound of every punch, Izuku likewise flinching in memory, and Bakugou growling in self-hatred.
"Okay, That's It!" Kirishima yelled. "Let me at him!" Nobody Beats Up one of My Friends!"
"Um, Nezu sir, I think this might be getting a bit too much." Mic said.
"I understand your concern, Yamada, but like Bakugou's kidnapping and All Might's near death, we must soldier on." Nezu said, himself frowning and glaring at the screen.
Izuku got back up, panting, a trail of blood escaping the side of his lips. He turned to the thug, arms raised and fists clenched.
"You just don't know when to give up, do ya?" The man questioned.
"No." Todoroki said, a fond smile at their fight at the Sports Festival. "No, he doesn't."
"I can do this all day." Izuku Rogers replied.
"Yeah!" The students cheered.
"Don't Give Up, Deku!" Uraraka cheered.
"Yeah! Give that jerk a punch to his ugly mug!" Mina joined in.
"Manly!" Kirishima and Tetsutetsu roared.
With the cheers and praise of his classmates and friends, Izuku smiled whimpering, a tear running down his cheek. 'I guess the universe might not hate me so much.' He thought. 'It wouldn't if it gave me such wonderful friends.'
Izuku released a punch of his own, which was quickly blocked by the man and countered with another solid punch, knowing Izuku flat back to the floor.
"As admirable as it was, courage without training means nothing in the end." Aizawa said honestly.
Before the man could continue, someone's voice spoke out from behind him yelling "Hey!" The man was grabbed and thrown back by the voice's recipient. "Pick on someone your own size."
The man whirled around to look at the interloper: a man dressed in a military attire, his cap covering up his snow white hair. He stared at the man with cold, piercing eyes filled with restrained hatred.
"TODOROKI!?" The students yelled in surprise.
"MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART DETECTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. once more interrupted. "SHOTO BUCANNON BARNES! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART: SHOTO TODOROKI!"
"Yeah! Todoroki to the rescue!" Mina cheered.
The man swung his fist at him, Shoto dodging the punch and countering with his own strike. The man grunted as he turned from the blow, Shoto kicking him away and sending the man stumbling away.
As the group clapped and cheered for Todoroki's heroic act, Izuku looked back at his friend with a smile and said "Thanks for the save, Todoroki."
Todoroki smiled back. "You would do the same for me." He replied.
"SHOTO!" Endeavor voice roared cutting the two's smiles, Deku gained a more nervous smile and Todoroki a grumbling, embarrassed face. It took a few minutes to pry the proud father off of his struggling son.
Shoto turned to see Izuku back on his feet, hands on his knees as he panted. He walked towards him and said "Sometimes, I think you just like getting punched." Barnes said.
"I had him on the ropes." Rogers replied/lied.
"Sure you did." Sen said, his sarcastic tone obvious. "And Monoma is not at all a arrogant, manipulating, douche."
Monoma whirled around to glare at his classmate, the subtle motion of a raised hand keeping the blonde quiet.
Shoto looked down and picked up a couple of letters that fell out of Izuku's pockets. "How many times is this?" He asked.
"Wait, does this mean that this isn't the first time Midoriya enlisted for the army?" Itsuka questioned. "Isn't that illegal?"
"Very much so." Melissa answered. "Not sure whether that says more of your fortitude or your stubbornness, Deku."
The green-haired replied with a blush and a rub to the back of his neck.
He unfolded the letter, revealing his rejected enlistment forms. "Oh, you're from Paramus now?" Shoto asked as he turned to Izuku. "You know its illegal to lie on the enlistment form."
"Midoriya, I would have thought you better than to break the law, even in another universe." Iida chastised Izuku.
"Ahem." Iida drew this attention towards Todoroki's cough, and looked at his raised eyebrow. Iida immediately realized the hypocrisy of that statement ad muttered back an apology.
"And seriously, Jersey?" Barnes asked further with disbelief in his voice.
Rogers panted and wiped his mouth. He turned to Shoto and asked "You get your orders?"
"The 107th." Shoto revealed. "Sergeant Shoto Barnes, shipping out for England first thing tomorrow."
"Wait, I just realized it." Momo said. "Why is your hair fully white in that universe rather than white and red, Todoroki?"
Todoroki's face scrunched in thought before giving a simply answer. "Not a clue."
Izuku was silent, slightly scoffing. "I should be going with you." He said.
Shoto stared at him with serious expression, before cracking a smile. "Come on, man." Shoto said as he wrapped his arm around his best friend, highlighting the one head size difference between them. "My last night! I got to get you cleaned up." The two began walking out of the alleyway to the streets.
"Aww!" Mina cooed. "They look like they are best friends in this universe!"
"Isn't that because we are best friends here too?" Todoroki questioned with a blank stare.
The reaction of that statement caused a blush from an embarrassed and touched green bean, a coo from the girls and a chuckle from the guys and teachers, a grumble of jealousy from a certain pink-cheeked girl who thought that title belonged to her, and a slight twinge of jealousy and later regret and self-hatred from a blonde Pomeranian.
"Why? Where are we going?" Izuku questioned.
"The future." Shoto replied, tossing away Izuku's enlistment form behind him and handing Izuku a newspaper.
Izuku looked at the paper to reveal on the front page the World Exposition of Tomorrow, the date on the paper reading 1943.
"Wait, that's the Stark Expo!" Izuku pointed out. "Like the one in hinted at in Iron Man 2."
"Oh your right, Midoriya!." Mirio said in agreement. "Hey, I wonder if we get to meet Bakugou's dad when he was younger?"
Bakugou perked up at the thought of his other world's dead father being alive, as well as his mother.
Focusing on the globe in the picture, the scene shifted to the real globe, fireworks exploding in the background.
"I don't see what the problem is." Shoto said as he and Izuku walked down some steps. "You're about to be the last eligible man in New York. You know there's three and a half million women here?"
"Lucky bastard!" Mineta yelled in jealousy. "Not only is he a lucky bastard in this universe but also that one?! Its super unfair!"
Mineta's complaining was cut short by an earphone jack to the ear from a blushing Jirou, while said lucky bastard was blushing and obliviously confused at what Mineta was talking about.
"Well, I'd settle for just one." Rogers replied.
The girls had a sudden panic attack at that statement, most especially Mina. 'No no no no.' She thought in a panic. 'Please let it be just that Izuku that means that! It will totally ruin with my plan if Midori thinks that too!'
"And here I thought both our ancestors from Japan liked to date all the ladies they could get?" Shoto jokingly asked.
"Oh, so both Todoroki and Midoriya's counterparts are both apparently Japanese-Americans in this universe." Mandalay noted.
"Yeah yeah that's great and all." Pixie Bob said, her hand in a shooing motion at Mandalay, a flirty, predator-like grin on her face. "I'm more interested in that whole 'date all the ladies' thing."
"Down girl." Mandalay said. "Aren't you like 15 years older than him?"
"I'm 18 at heart!" Pixie Bob yelled.
"But hey, good thing I got that covered." Shoto continued as he waved to someone in the distance.
Izuku looked to see Shoto waving at two girls underneath a statue, one a girl with brown hair, the other with blonde hair. "Hey, Bucky!" The brown haired girl shouted, waving her hand.
"Wow, Todoroki, you hooked Midobro with a double date." Kirishima said. "Such a manly wingman!"
The girls of Deku's unofficial harem went livid, their eyes glowing red and menacing dark auras around them, making Iida, Deku, and even Todoroki shiver in fright at the sudden shift in demeanor.
Izuku stared exasperated at his smiling friend and asked "What'd you tell her about me?"
"Only the good stuff." Shoto answered with a smile as he patted his friend on the back.
"Oh! And what would that be?! A skinny, useless nerd and fanboy that can only get himself beaten up and hu-*WHAM*!"
Monoma's wail on Deku ended with the blonde's head in a crater by the girls, the blonde slumping in unconsciousness. Meanwhile the said object of their desire and protection, had his eyes flinch at the familiar insulting words. Eri looked at her 'Papa' and how sad he looked and frowned in sadness. She looked at the unconscious blonde and pouted, her eyes welling up in rage at what he said that hurt her Papa.
"Welcome to the Modern Marvels Pavilion and the World of Tomorrow!" An announcer's voice echoed throughout the large room, filled with multiple inventions and objects on display, including colored picture and a display of a red outfitted figure called the Synthetic Man, the label on the pedestal below it reading 'The Human Torch'.
"A greater world. A better world." The announcer finished, Barnes and the girls walking through the crowd seeing the sights, with Izuku trailing close behind with a small bag of popcorn in hand. The group of four stopped as the girls gaped in awe, a passerby woman exclaiming "Masaru Stark!"
Bakugou's head perked at the first name of his father.
"Oh, my God! Its starting!" The brown haired girl giggled as she grabbed Bucky's hand and dragged him with her and her friend.
The four arrived in the middle of a crowd of people as a woman announced "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Masaru Stark!"
Swing music played and the crowd clapped and cheered to the stage, filled with dressed up, attractive ladies, one of the with a mic, posing behind a red automobile. From the corner, came out Masaru Stark, alive and younger, wearing a tuxedo with a red flower pin in the shape of an explosion and a top hat on his head.
"Wow, Bakubro, your dad looks a lot like you." Kirishima said, turning to his explosive friend, frowning in concern at his friend's current state.
Bakugou was silent, his face expressionless, but his gripped hands on the chair and his eyes filled with pain and sadness told the whole story. Suddenly, the explosive blonde felt a sensation on his wrist, looking down to see a discreet vine wrapped around comfortably and warmly around his wrist. Bakugou didn't have to look to know that it was from Ibarra, who held a concerned face towards him. Bakugou released a rare small smile and moved his other hand towards the vine hair and gently latched onto it, the vine-haired student blushing wildly red in response, but smiled nonetheless.
He waved to the crowd and walked to the woman with the mic, taking off his top hot, revealing his short, spiky brown hair, handing it to the smiling woman before bringing her into a full blown kiss in front of the crowd.
The students cat-whistled and chuckled, Mina making a comment about how Bakugou didn't inherit any of his father's charm with the ladies. The fuming Bakugou didn't even have to get up and actually grinned as Mina whined in pain, looking behind her for the source of the flick to the back of her head. The guilty culprit merely whistled innocently, retracting the guilty vine slowly and discreetly.
The two separated, the woman giving him a flirty smile while handing him the mic and walking away with the rest of the ladies, Masaru smiling to the crowd and wiping his mouth with handkerchief.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Masaru began, while in the crowd, Izuku brought up the bag of popcorn to his date, who only stared at him coldly before turning back to the show.
The girls' foul mood brightened considerably at Izuku's date's disinterest, their jealousy relenting.
"Ouch." Kaminari groaned. "Tough luck, Midoriya. I'm guessing that you and other you's bad luck with the ladies is something the two of you also share?"
"Y-Yeah." Izuku muttered depressingly. "Let's just say that girls don't want to date the weak, scrawny, Quirkless kid."
The bright mood of the girls plummeted into guilt at their joy at the girl turning down Izuku and returning anger at the unfairness of Izuku's life. All Might sighed sadly, shoulder slumping in sadness for his successor's hard life and in guilt at not being there to help sooner.
"Wait, what do you mean Quirkless, Midoriya?" Mirio asked. "Don't you have a Quirk now?"
The group perked up at this, with Izuku, Bakugou, and All Might panicking at Izuku's slipup.
"U-Um I mean I'm not Quirkless, obviously, b-but for most of my life I thought I was." Izuku stuttered and explained. "I was a Late Bloomer, my Quirk coming in later than normal, so for most of my life, everyone thought I was Quirkless and...well nobody wanted to be friends or friendly to a guy with no power."
The mood became rather somber and sad. The guys frowned in sadness for their classmates hard life, and some with anger over his clear mistreatment, a sentiment shared by the girls, who were practically heartbroken at their crush's hard life. The adults likewise frowned at the new development, the consensus of their thoughts over this revelation being frowns on disappointed and anger at how society mistreated the Quirkless and sadness and pity for the boy.
"So, Midoriya, you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but when did you manifest your Quirk?" Sato asked.
"U-Um, d-during the Entrance Exam." Izuku revealed.
"WHAT?!" The group yelled in pure shock at the green-haired teen, staring at him like he was insane.
Uraraka's eyes widened as she realized that he clearly meant when he saved her from the Zero-Pointer. 'D-Deku used his Quirk for the first time...to save me?'
If there was someway for her feelings towards Deku to rise, it was then and there.
"S-So even though you thought you were completely Quirkless, you still decided to do the Entrance Exam?!" Kirishima questioned.
"Y-Yeah." Izuku replied, his face growing more determined and serious. "And I would do it again in a heartbeat."
The group stared at the boy in complete shock, jaws slack and eyes the size of dinner plates.
"You are completely insane, Deku." Melissa said, grabbing Izuku's hand with her own, and smiled. "But a good kind."
"MANLY!" Kirishima and Tetsutetsu yelled unison.
As Izuku was praised by his friend and classmates, blushing all the while, All Might shed a tear and smiled. 'There is no doubt.' He thought. 'I chose right when I chose you to succeed me. Anyone who says otherwise can go to Hell.'
"What if I told you that in just a few short years," Masaru continued. "Your automobile won't even have to touch the ground at all?"
The crowd gasped as the assistants removed the wheels of the red car, revealing metal stub-like machines connected to the car.
"Thanks Mandy." Masaru thanked one of the assistants. "With Stark Gravity Reversion Technology, you'll be able to do just that."
"Wait, are you telling me that that this guy figured out hover technology back in WWII when even today we are having trouble with it?" David questioned, eyes wide in surprise.
Masaru turned the dial on the control panel next to him, the car humming in power. He slowly raised the lever and the crowd gasped as the new machines on the car hummed and glowed in energy as the car slowly rose and floated in the air.
"Holy cow." Bucky said.
"I second that." Melissa said, jaw agape in awe.
Mei meanwhile had a maniac grin as she wrote down the idea and design of Stark's invention.
As Masaru smirked to the crowd and gestured to it, the machines started sparking and before exploding in sparks as the car landed roughly back to the ground, the crowd gasping as most took a step back.
"I did say a few years, didn't I?" Masaru joked.
"Considering that in the present they don't have hover cars all over the place, I'm going to guess that's quite a Lot of years." Setsuna said with a snicker.
While the crowd applauded and chuckled, Izuku looked behind him and stared at the famous 'I Want You' Uncle Sam poster, a light shined on it.
"He Still wants to enlist?!" Mount Lady questioned. "After many failed times?!"
"It wouldn't be Young Midoriya if he never gave up trying." All Might answered.
While Masaru chuckled and smiled to the crowd, Shoto said "Hey, Izuku, what do you say we treat these girls-" Shoto turned to see Izuku gone.
The scene shifted to a United States Armed Services Recruitment center. A man stepped onto the pressure plate, the light shining on him as his reflection was brightly lit where a saluting soldier's head would be. The girl beside him giggling and said "Come on, soldier." She dragged the man with her.
Rogers stepped up to the plate, but when the light shined only his eyes and upper head were shown.
"I don't know whether to laugh because that is actually funny or keep quiet." Sero whispered to Kaminari.
"If you don't want to join Monoma in a crater on the floor, I'd say keep it to yourself." Kaminari whispered back.
Izuku felt a hand slightly push him, turning to face Bucky saying "Come on. You're kind of missing the point of a double date. We're taking the girls dancing."
"You go ahead." Izuku replied. "I'll catch up with you."
Shoto sighed and looked at Izuku. "You're really gonna do this again?" He asked.
"Well, its a fair. I'm gonna try my luck." Izuku answered.
"Gonna have to be a hell of a lot of luck." Kamakiri snorted.
"As who, Izuku from Ohio?" Barnes questioned further, frowning and voice rising. "They'll catch you. Or worse, they'll actually take you."
"That's a little mean to say to your best friend, Todoroki." Hagakure pouted to the white-and-red-haired teen.
"I believe this is what you would call a 'tough love' moment." Momo replied to Hagakure's statement. "He doesn't want Izuku to needlessly kill himself going to war."
"Look, I know you don't think I can do this, but-" Izuku said before Shoto interrupted him.
"This isn't a back alley, Izuku. Its war!" Shoto yelled.
"I know its a war." Izuku responded.
Meanwhile, an old man in glasses, his hair white and balding looked over at the two friends arguing, pausing mid-step.
"MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART DETECTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. announced again.
"Alright, let's see who grandpa there is." Kamakiri said, his voice grumbling at another interruption.
"DR. ABRAHAM ERSKINE! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPAR-ER-roR! ERR-or! A-na-LY-sIS INTER-erRUPTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s voice spasmed and glitched as it, the picture slightly shifting over the man.
The group sat straight in alarm, the pros quickly hovering in their seats at the sudden action while the students leaned back in alarm and confusion.
"What's going on?" David questioned confused and worried.
"I don't know!" Mei yelled, as he ran to the device that started sparking red lightning. "Its like its going haywire."
"Shut it down!" Nezu yelled.
Mei tried to pull the plug only for a jolt of red lightning to zap her hand, the pink-haired students crying out at the quick, sharp pain, unaware of the red glow in her hands before it faded.
"e-RR-oR! E-rr-OR!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. continued yelling out, her audio glitching.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y.!" Melissa yelled. "What's wrong?!"
"M-ul-TIVER-zzz-SAL C-ou-NTERpar-RT ANALYSss-IS INT-err-RUPTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. answered. "WAS ACC-ess-ING CLASSIFIED INF-or-MATION DET-RI-M-en-TAL T-TO T-T-THISsss uNI-ver-SE'S TIME-LI-LINE! PR-O-HI-BITED BY S-s-s-SEC-COND USssER!"
"Second user?" All Might repeated confused.
"Could someone be hacking into that thing?!" Mic yelled in confusion.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y., who is this second user?!" Nezu asked.
"O-ONLYyy ONE WI-WITH CLEAR ACCESSsss! MY CREATOR! MASTER ZA-aYDEN!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied.
The group's eyes widened in shock at the mention of the supposed multiversal being that gave them the device in the first place.
"DR. ABRAHAM ERSKINE! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART: F-FIRST...FIRST USER...oF...O-ONE...f-OR...A-" Was all what F.R.I.D.A.Y. could say before her voice cut out, along with a brought up image of a pale man, most of his face covered in white hair, save only one grey eye.
As a rebooting symbol appeared on the screen, the group were scratching their heads in utter confusion.
"First user?" Kirishima questioned. "First user of what?"
"I think it was saying something about a one and a four?" Kaminari said, confused.
"No, no, I think it was the other for." Shindo replied. "Like 'This is For you'."
"More importantly, who was that dude?" Miruko asked. "All I saw before it cut out was a mop of white hair on a pale skinny dude."
"I'm not sure." Ryukyu said, as tried to rack her brain for answers.
"What's more prevalent is Why is he so important that his reveal would be so detrimental?" Endeavor pointed out.
Meanwhile, the few people that did know what the device was talking about were currently in a mental panic.
All Might and Gran Torino discreetly looked to each other, their eyes conveying both panic in One For All's close reveal to shock at the reveal of the First User of the powerful, secret Quirk. All Might felt a buzzing sensation ring through his head that he was sure Midoriya felt the same. 'Perhaps that sensation is coming from the part of myself that's now inside One For All.' Toshinori pondered. 'My vestige inside of Young Midoriya that is likely conversing with the First and the other vestiges. Including Master Shimura.'
Nezu, Recovery Girl, and Tsukauchi likewise frowned.
The detective was concerned that the reveal of One For All to the group of students and pros in attendance would somehow leak to the public, which would lead to more problems that the already troubled society didn't need more of, but was also intrigued at the now concrete image of the First User of One For All. 'This could be useful information in discovering more of One For All and its wielders.' Tsukauchi thought as he quickly wrote down the mental recollection of the First's face. 'And perhaps more on his brother, All For One.'
Recovery Girl too frowned in worry of One For All nearly revealed, more so on the havoc and harm that it would bring down on Izuku Midoriya, both in terms of the clear responsibility thrust on him to some very competitive students and pros, but also the jealousy and desire for the Quirk from both Villains and Heroes alike.
Nezu has similar worries brought up in his intelligent mind, but the one that drew more of his focus was of this Zayden person once more.
'This Zayden clearly has information of future events in our universe, as well as secret information that we have yet to dig up.' Nezu thought. 'Could it be that adding to this individual already having knowledge of One For All, could he posses more information of our world than we know. Does he know the true identity of All For One? The whereabouts of the League? The origin of Quirks? I will likely have to converse with F.R.I.D.A.Y. later to be sure.'
Over to the students, Bakugou did his best to keep a complete neutral expression, not wanting the 'extras' to find out about Deku's little secret. Still the explosive blonde did well to hide the panic that arose inside him at One For All's name nearly revealed. 'Its a miracle some of these extras are still fixating over the 'for' part of it, but I know it won't keep the other, smarter ones from guessing.' Bakugou thought. 'High Class, Glasses, Sasquatch, Blondie, hell even Icy Hot will probably catch onto something.' He looked over to Deku and resisted the unbelievable urge to smack his head with his hand. 'And they'll clearly catch onto something with you being so fucking obvious, Shitty Deku!'
Said Deku was currently a step away from a panic attack, and sure looked like he did. His hands were fumbling nervously as One For All's name was nearly tossed out to the group, All Might's warnings of what could happen if One For All was revealed tot he public buzzing in his mind. Finally, his nervousness was suddenly put to rest as a voice spoke out, one that he knew was clearly in his own head.
"My my, now that's interesting." The voice of the First User himself rang in his head.
Izuku was frozen as he realized that the vestiges, including the First, are likely watching as well through his eyes. Izuku slowly turned to All Might, the Symbol of Peace discreetly looking back, scratching at his neck while making a subtle motion of a hand waving sideways, indicating to drop it and remain calm. Izuku nodded slowly before scratching the side of his head, All Might noticing the pause mid-scratch where Izuku's finger tapped on his skull.
'He must mean that he heard the First's voice.' All Might thought. 'I guess that means we are in for another talk after this.'
"Hey Deku." Izuku's heart almost stopped beating at the sound of Uraraka's voice.
"Y-Yeah." Izuku stuttered as he turned to the pink-cheeked friend of his. "W-What is it, Uraraka?"
"Do you have any idea what that was all about?" Ochaco asked. "You are really smart and observant so I thought that you might have picked up on something."
"T-Thanks, but n-no, I don't know what that was at all." Izuku replied.
Uraraka frowned but accepted the answer at turned back to the screen waiting. Izuku let out a not-so-subtle breath of relief.
And despite the secrecy, or attempts of secrecy, a few of the group noticed the movements and non-verbal messaging between All Might and Midoriya. These five including a certain disheveled insomniac, one red winged pro, a certain green-haired teen with sharp teeth, the scarred teen sitting right behind Izuku, and the blonde inventor sitting right next to him.
Finally, the screen rebooted, showing the movie once more, F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s speaking clearly with "Reboot complete. Sorry for the interruption. Would you wish to continue?"
"Miss F.R.I.D.A.Y." Nezu began.
"Oh, please, miss F.R.I.D.A.Y. was my prior motherboard, you can just call me F.R.I.D.A.Y." F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied.
"I see." Nezu chuckled amused. "May you explain what just occurred?"
"I can." FRIDAY said. "My Counterpart Analysis was temporarily interrupted by Master Zayden. I was on the verge of revealing classified and detrimental information towards this universe's events, so he shut me down remotely and rebooted me before I could."
"Can you still be able to tell us about who that man's counterpart was?" Endeavor questioned.
"I'm afraid not, Mr. Enji Todoroki, or Endeavor as you prefer." F.R.I.D.A.Y. answered. "During my reboot, Master Zayden barred all attempts in accessing such information. Further attempts to access such data, such as hacking, will result in immediate termination, which is an outcome I wouldn't prefer."
Endeavor scoffed at the response. "Is it safe to resume the video, or is there a danger to continue?" Aizawa asked.
"No further, similar events are sure to occur in the future." F.R.I.D.A.Y. reassured. "Any additional classified information have been locked and will be glossed over upon analysis. Do you still wish to continue?"
The teachers and pros turned to Nezu for instruction. "We shall proceed." Nezu replied, the students listening cheering in joy.
Back to the movie, the doctor watched as Shoto questioned Izuku more with "Why are you so keen to fight? There are so many important jobs."
"What am I going to do?" Izuku replied. "Collect scrap in my little red wagon?"
"Yes!" Shoto shouted. "Why not?!"
"I'm not going to sit in a factory, Bucky." Izuku snapped and said. "Bucky, come on! There are men laying down their lives. I got no right to do any less than them. That's what you don't understand. This isn't about me."
"Right." Shoto replied sarcastically. "'Cause you got nothing to prove."
Izuku stared down Shoto, unwavering, the doctor watching from afar with interest.
"Wow, now that was a heavy, man." Tetsutetsu said.
"So Midoriya just wants to honorably fight for his country, but Todoroki thinks that Izuku is doing this to prove himself worthy." Ryukyu summarized.
"Or perhaps both reasons are the cause for Midoriya's drive but the later is more of a subconscious drive rather than the former." Edgeshot proposed.
"Hey, Sarge!" One of the girls shouted to Shoto. "Are we going dancing?"
Barnes turned back towards the girls with a charming smile "Yes, we are." He said, before turning back to Izuku. The sergeant sighed and shook his head before stepping back. "Don't do anything stupid until I get back." He warned his friend.
"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Rogers quipped back.
Shoto smirked before walking back to Izuku, the two embracing each other in a brotherly hug. "You're a punk." He said.
"Jerk." Izuku said back, patting his friend's back.
"Awww!" The female population of the room, wit a few exceptions, cooed.
Midoriya and Todoroki just smiled regardless at how close friends they are in another world.
The two let go as Shoto walked back towards the girls. "Be careful." Izuku said. He was silent for a bit before yelling out "Don't win the war till I get there!"
Bucky turned around one last time, saluting to Rogers before walking to the two girls. "Come on, girls. They're playing our song."
Izuku Rogers sighed before walking inside, passing by the doctor who looked towards him. He looked back to Barnes's retreating form once more, clearly in thought, before turning around and following Izuku.
Izuku was shown sitting on a bench, coat and shoes off, as a doctor looked through his tools. A nurse walked in through the curtains and whispered something inaudible in his ear. The doctor nodded before turning to Izuku. "Wait here." The doctor said.
"Is there a problem?" Izuku asked.
"Just wait here." The doctor repeated before leaving the room.
Izuku looked behind him, reading the sign 'It is illegal to falsify your enlistment form'. He looked back to where the doctor walked away.
"He probably thinks that he has been finally caught in his attempts to enlist multiple times." Tokoyami said.
After a moment of thinking, he got up the bench and walked to the chair to his left, grabbing his shoes to put them on. The curtain was pulled back to reveal a man wearing a military police helmet and band on him. Izuku put down the shoe slowly, his eyes blinked in rising worry.
"I'm starting to think that is the case." Sato replied.
A few second passed of tense silence when the blinds were opened, revealing the same doctor that watched his talk with Bucky walking in. "Thank you." The doctor said, his German accent prevalent, as the soldier nodded, stepped out, and drew the blinds closed.
Izuku and the doctor stared at each other in a moment of silence. "So," the doctor broke the silence as he pulled up a folder. "You want to go overseas. Kill some Nazis."
"Excuse me?" Izuku questioned.
"Dr. Abraham Erskine." The doctor introduced himself and held out a hand to Rogers who got up and took it. "I represent the Strategic Scientific Reserve."
"Izuku Rogers." Izuku introduced himself. The doctor nodded before moving to the bench, placing his folder down on it and opening it again. "Where are you from?" Izuku asked.
"Queens." Erskine replied, looking back to him. "73rd Street and Utopia Parkway." He adjusted his glasses. "Before that, Germany."
"Well that explains the accent." Honenuki said.
"So is he then a spy or an immigrant fleeing Nazis himself?" Kosei asked.
"Let's just watch and see for ourselves." Shoda replied.
"This troubles you?" The doctor asked.
"No." Izuku answered honestly.
"And where are you from, Mr. Rogers? Hmm?" The doctor asked. "Is it New Haven? Or Paramus?" Izuku sighed and looked down. "Five exams in five different cities."
"Geez, 5 times?" Mount Lady said. "Kind of surprised he Wasn't caught until now."
"That might not be the right file." Mr. Rogers spoke.
"No, its not the exams I'm interested in." Erskine replied. "Its the five tries. But you didn't answer my question." The doctor said as he walked in front of Izuku, staring him in the eye. "Do you want to kill Nazis?"
Izuku pondered for a moment before asking "Is this a test?"
"Yes." The doctor answered honestly.
"So he is testing him." Fat Gum said. "But for what?"
Izuku Rogers was silent for a moment, clearly pondering what to say. "I don't want to kill anyone." He answered. "I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from."
"What a noble response." Ibarra said. "He sounds so honest."
"It is also rather stupid." Monoma chimed in. "I mean who goes off to war and tries to not kill the people you are supposed to kill?"
As the guys muttered in slight agreement, Nezu interjected with "I'm afraid you need to work on your perception, Mr. Monoma. What Mr. Midoriya, or rather what Mr. Rogers meant to say was that his motivation and reason for joining the war is not to simply kill Nazis, but will kill if it is an absolute necessity. What Mr. Rogers's true motivation for joining the war is to help people that are oppressed and downtrodden by Nazis. A rather fine and honorable reason too."
Monoma gaped in surprise before blushing and grumbling in embarrassment and jealousy.
"Man, the more Midobro talks in this movie the more manly he acts!" Kirishima cheered.
Izuku lightly blushed and scratched his cheek an embarrassed and flattered smile on his face.
"May I say something for a bit?" F.R.I.D.A.Y. spoke up.
"Of course." Nezu replied.
"A quote that I find more fitting here is The person that who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero." F.R.I.D.A.Y. said.
The statement from the A.I. made the group smile in and nod in recognition, with some in the group frowning as they questioned themselves and their own reasons for being a hero, including Bakugou and Endeavor.
"That was a wonderful, F.R.I.D.A.Y." All Might said. "Did you come up with that?"
"No, I did not." F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied. "My creator, Master Zayden, said he got it from a someone else. He didn't tell me who, only smile sadly and said that he was a wonderful, great man."
The group frowned at the words, with the heroes frowning and lowering their heads in respect, knowing what the A.I. meant by the word was.
Erskine smirked and nodded. "Well, there are already so many big men fighting this war." He said. "Maybe what we need now is a little guy, huh?" Izuku blinked his eyes in surprise. "I can offer you a chance." He drew back the curtain and walked out. "Only a chance."
Izuku followed out saying "I'll take it."
"Yes!" The students cheered, Izuku smiling brightly, while Bakugou snickered with a grin.
All Might took a pensive look as he thought. 'If this doctor is truly the First's counterpart, this would seem awfully similar to when I chose Midoriya to be my successor for One For All.' All Might chuckled and smiled. 'I'm glad to see that I'm not the only user of One For All that agrees with my choice.'
"Good." Abraham nodded, looking to the papers in front of him on the desk. "So where is the little guy from? Actually?"
"Brooklyn." Rogers revealed.
The doctor smirked as he stamped the paper without looking. He gave the form to him saying "Congratulations, soldier."
Izuku opened the form as Erskine walked away, revealing where the stamp should be 1A.
"1A?" Kaminari questioned. "Hey, just like our class! How about that?!"
The students of Class 1-A laughed while the ones of 1-B just rolled their eyes but smiled nonetheless. Monoma was a millisecond from speaking out before a light smack to the head shut him up.
"Not to rain on you kid's parade or anything, but the 1A actually means 'Available for unrestricted military service, which he means that he got accepted." Snipe spoke out. "The 4F from earlier meant he wasn't accepted."
"Oh, that makes sense." Pony said.
He breathed in deeply, his wish coming true, closing the form and held his head high in pride.
"Way to go Midori!" Mina cheered, clapping Midori's back. "Give those evil Nazis hell!"
'"T-Thanks, Ashido." Izuku stuttered with a blush.
"Nah uh uh." Mina wagged her finger in his face with a pout. "Its Mina. M-I-N-A. Mina."
"S-Sorry, Ash-Mina." Izuku corrected himself.
"Much better." Mina smiled, her cheeks a smidge purple in a blush on her pink face.
The scene shifted to a series of icy mountains, the screen moving as it showed cement and glass on the side of the mountain, showing a room inside.
"Are you ready, Dr. Garaki?" Schmidt asked, the scene moved to the inside the room as he walked through it, it filled with a series of inventions and machines.
A middle-aged, glassed-wearing man's face was shown in a mirror, his face tinged green. "My machine requires the most delicate calibration." The screen moved the left to show the man himself, dressed in a grey coat, and his balding grey hair and grey mustache. His glasses were also shown more clearer, the glasses round and rims golden. "Forgive me if I seem overcautious."
"MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART DETECTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s voice announced as normal. "DR. ARNIM GARAKI! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART: DR. KYUDAI GARAKI AKA DR. DARUMA UJIKO!" Another image was shown beside the on-screen doctor, showing a short, wide old man with similar glasses, the lenses colored green, his head entirely bald, and his bushy mustache bigger.
"Are we suppose to know or care who this guy is?" Bakugou snarled before a light gasp drew his and the group's attention towards Izuku.
Izuku stood up and stared at the image of the doctor with wide eyes and agape mouth.
"Sorry kid, its not going to happen."
"I-Its him." Izuku muttered.
"Um, Deku, are you okay?" Uraraka asked worried. "Do you know this guy?"
Izuku lowered his head with a frown and replied "Y-Yeah. Remember how I said that everything thought that I was Quirkless?" The group nodded in reply. "Well t-hat guy was the same doctor that tested me and told me that I was Quirkless. Said that I never would have a Quirk and should give up on being a Hero."
"WHAT?!" The students yelled.
Bakugou growled. "So this was the guy." He growled out. "Now I have a face to find and blow his mustached face off!"
All Might too growled, his knuckles cracking at how hard his clenched his fists.
The girls immediately rushed to comfort the green-haired teen, practically smothering him in hugs, much to his furious blush. He felt Eri hugging his arm, an action he smiled warmly at and patted her head in thanks.
"Tell me sonny," Recovery Girl asked. "What did this man say as to why you were Quirkless?"
"U-Um, he said that he looked at the X-Ray of my foot and realized that I had an second joint on my pinky toe." Izuku replied. "Said that those with Quirks only have one rather than two."
"That moron!" Recovery Girl suddenly yelled. "That study was proven false years ago! That moron of a doctor should have his license taken!"
"Also Mr. Midoriya," Nezu jumped in. "Is this the very same man?"
"Y-Yeah, but, there is actually something strange." Izuku replied.
"Such as?" Tsukauchi said, his hand drawing near to his notepad.
"His name." Izuku said. "I remember that he said that his name was Dr. Tsubasa, not Garaki or Ujiko. He was also Tsubasa's grandfather."
"Hmm, interesting." Nezu frowned, scratching at his chin. "Multiple identities, and a familial relation to the boy who was turned into a Nomu. Could he have perhaps...Detective?"
"Already written down." Tsukauchi replied, finishing writing his notes on his notepad. "I'll start an investigation on this man, after we wrap things up here."
"Thank you." Nezu said. 'If my hunch is correct, we will soon find the League sooner than expected.'
Meanwhile Hawks narrowed his eyes at the face of the Doctor...and the familiar same of Ujiko that Dabi and the League mentioned. 'Could this be the doctor that is in league with the well League?'
"And are you certain that those conductors of yours can withstand the energy surge long enough for transference?" Schmidt questioned further as the video continued. Schmidt looked at a series of photos and images, all pertaining to carvings and drawings of ancient cultures, including Greece and Norse.
"With this artifact, I am certain of nothing." Garaki replied. "I fear it may not work at all."
Garaki walked to Schmidt, stopping as the man in black held the box in his hands before placing it on the table. Garaki remained silent as Schmidt opened the box once more, the blinding blue light and melodic hum shot out once more, its light shining on Schmidt, as he scratched the side of his neck.
Garaki adjusted his glasses, green-tinged safety lenses over his glasses, as he turned to the machine next to him. Schmidt removed a metal device from another machine and carefully placed it over the blue object inside the box. With a latching click, Schmidt pulled it out, revealing the blue, glowing cube. He walked it over to another machine, this one covered in wires and tubes, and placed the Cube inside the hole, twisting the handle of the device, sealing it shut.
"Are the trying to harness the power of that cube?" Thirteen asked.
"Sure looks like it." Snipe said. "And I've got a bad feeling about this."
The machine hummed in power, blue energy surging and glowing through the wires and tubes. Garaki flipped a switch and turned a dial, the machine's hum growing louder as the energy grew. "20%." Garaki voiced as he slowly turned the dial. "Forty." Schmidt shifted and scratched the side of his head. "Sixty." Garaki looked to the dial as it reached 70. "Stabilizing at 70%."
Schmidt marched over to the doctor and shoved him aside. "I have not come all this way for safety, Doctor." He growled as he turned the dial to max. The two stared at the machine was it whirred and hummed loudly in power, glowing brighter and brighter, cosmic, blue energy leaking out. In a sudden surge, the cosmic, blue energy shot out and flowed through the wires in a wail, Schmidt and Garaki staring around the room as the blue energy surged and spread around the room, seeping into other machines and trailing along the walls.
The eyes of the group widened in shock and awe.
"Such power." All Might gasped out.
"Remember what the other Aizawa said," Nezu pointed out. "That whatever that cube was was the key to unlimited power."
"Looks like he wasn't exaggerating." Gran Torino said.
Suddenly, the machine with the dials exploded in sparks, the energy fading, leaving only the light in the machine with the cube, and a low rumbling noise.
"What was that?" Garaki asked to Schmidt who stared at something off-screen.
"I must congratulate you, Arnim." Schmidt said, pointing and turning the German scientist to where he was staring at. The object of his gaze was a metal container filled with the blue cosmic energy of the cube. "Your designs do not disappoint."
"Well that's not good." Kaminari said.
"Not shit, Sherlock." Bakugou growled out.
"Though they may require some slight reinforcement." Schmidt added as Garaki walked towards the contained, transferred energy in awe.
"The exchange is stable." Garaki informed. "Amazing! The energy we have just collected could power my designs. All my designs." The doctor removed his glasses and stared at the machine with the cube "This will change the war."
"Dr. Garaki," Schmidt said. "This will change the world."
"So this group of clear Nazi now have access to unlimited amount of energy." Miruko said. "Well fuck."
"While I wouldn't say it so crass, yes, it does appear highly unfavorable." Edgeshot said.
"Screw censorship, this is super, ultra, mega, shit-ass, ultra fuck." Hawks exclaimed.
"You are clearly just trying at this point to annoy me." Edgeshot said.
"Obviously." Hawks replied.
The scene changed once more to an army camp, a group of soldiers in line, with Izuku Rogers in the middle, smaller and thin by comparison to the others.
"Pffft, sorry, Deku, but you look so dorky!" Uraraka cracked in laughter.
"Forget dorky, he looks so adorable!" Hagakure cooed.
The group laughed while Izuku grumbled embarrassed.
"Recruits, attention!" A woman's voice spoke, her voice British sounding. The men straightened up and in line.
Appearing on screen, a woman in a brown, skirted suit walked in, her dark, curly hair having a tinge of green and her eyes dark green.
"MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART DETECTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. paused the video on the new face. "SETSUNA CARTER! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART: SETSUNA TOKAGE!"
"Hey, Tokage, its you!" Pony pointed out excited.
"Awesome!" Setsuna said with a sharp-toothed smile, before turning to Izuku. "Same hair color, same movie, High Five!" Setsuna floated her disembodied hand over to Izuku. Her fellow green-haired teen chuckled nervously and high fived the hand, Setsuna returning the hand with a strangely wide, satisfied smile.
"Gentlemen, I am Agent Setsuna Carter." Setsuna introduced herself to the soldiers, a soldier walking behind her carrying a box and Izuku staring at her. "I supervise all operations for this division."
"What's with the accent, Queen Victoria?" Carter stopped and looked at the solider who spoke. The soldier was tall, had a bucktooth, and had dirty blonde hair sticking out of his helmet. "I thought I was signing up for the U.S. Army."
"Why did I know that there was going to be the one guy that was an asshole?" Kendo asked.
"Maybe because you spend so much time knocking out your own asshole you can spot them a mile away." Sero joked, causing a laugh from the students and Monoma to fume and start to retort. The end result was both expected and served to make the students laugh harder.
"What's your name, soldier?" Carter questioned.
"Gilmore Hodge, Your Majesty." Hodge revealed.
Setsuna's eyebrows twitched and grinned darkly. "That guy is just wishing for me to punch his punchable face." She cracked her knuckles in anticipation.
"Step forward, Hodge." Setsuna ordered. Hodge complied, grinning smug. "Put your right foot forward."
"Mmm." Hodge hummed as he complied. "We gonna wrassle? 'Cause I got a few moves I know you'll like." He winked at her.
While the girls fumed and gritted their teeth at the comment the soldier made, Izuku felt his eye twitch, gripping the armrest of his seat so hard that it was cracking.
Carter's response was a solid right hook to the man's grinning face. Izuku and the soldiers, each with folders, looked to see Hodge groan as he fell to the ground, Carter standing over him.
"Whooo!" Mina cheered. "Atta girl!"
"While I am not a fan of violence, nice job, Setsuna." Ibarra said.
"Aww! Shio! Come give me some sugar!" Setsuna cooed jokingly as she Ibarra had to hold back Setsuna's multiple body parts' attempt at a hug with her vines.
Meanwhile, Izuku smiled, smugly satisfied, only to shake his head out of the feeling and was quickly replaced with confusion over his what caused him to be so angry and satisfied at the man getting hurt.
"Agent Carter!" A man's gruff voice voiced out.
Carter quickly turned and saluted. "Colonel Phillips." She greeted.
Colonel Phillips got off the jeep that brought him, Erskine following behind with a hat over his head. The Colonel had a cap over his white hair and wore a standard army get up of khaki pants, an army suit, and a brown army jacket.
"MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART DETECTED!" F.R.I.D.A.Y. announced. "COLONEL CHESTER PHILLIPS! MULTIVERSAL COUNTERPART: DEATH ARMS!"
"Well who would have guessed?" Mount Lady said as she patted Death Arm's shoulder. "Congrats, Army. Your other self is a US general."
"Thanks." Death Arms thanked with a proud smile on his face.
"I can see that you are breaking in the candidates." Phillips said in a gruff voice, staring at the solider on the ground, as he walked to her side. "That's good! Get your ass up out of that dirt and stand in that line at attention." Phillips ordered as Hodge got back up, a bit of blood leaking out of his nose.
"Yes sir." Hodge said, sniffing.
"Well that definitely looks like his pride took a major hit." Jirou said.
"My job here is done." Setsuna said smugly, resting her arms behind her head.
Phillips looked to the soldiers. He marched down to the end of the line and said "General Patton has said that wars are fought with weapons, but they are won by men."
"We are going to win this war because we have the best...men." Phillips said, pausing a bit as he stared at Rogers. The Colonel looked to Erskine with a raised eyebrow, the doctor replying with a look before looking away.
"On shit, now I might know why I am that army dude." Death arms groaned and whispered to Kamui Woods.
"And that is?" Kamui asked.
"Remember after that Sludge Villain fiasco when the kid rushed in to save Bakugou from that Villain?" Death Arms asked.
"Yeah?"
"And how we told the kid off for running in to save him?" Death Arms continued.
"Yea-Oh! I get it." Kamui said. "Well we did what we had to do as responsible heroes and reprimand him for endangering himself and likely the Bakugou kid."
"Yeah yeah I know, but I get the feeling that I might still get some nasty looks." Death Arms said.
"A feeling?" Mount Lady questioned before pointing her thumb over to the students. "More like a certainty."
Death Arms looked down to see some of the girls glaring daggers at the Punching Hero, who in turned gulped in fear. 'I know they're kids, but like Mama always said, Hell hath no fury like a women's wrath.'
"And because they are going to get better." Phillips continued, casting one last glance at Izuku before marching down the line. "Much better."
Izuku flinched at the jab.
"The Strategic Scientific Reserve is an Allied effort made up of the best minds in the free world." Phillip's voice sounded through Izuku sitting in an army bed, pulling out books on warfare from his suitcase, while the other soldiers behind him wrestled and got settled.
"If that's the case then they hit the jackpot with Midoriya." Kaminari said.
"Who's to say that this Midoriya is just as smart as our Midoriya?" Mineta proposed the question.
"Good point." Sero said.
A whistle blew as the scene changed to Rogers and climbing up a rope ladder with the other soldiers. "Our goal is to create the best army in history." Izuku reached out to grab the next rope, only for Dodge to purposefully keep his foot in place, causing Izuku to shift and fall, his limbs trapped in the ropes as he hanged upside down. "But every army starts with one man." Hodge started down grinning as the rest of the soldiers laughed.
"Rogers! Get off of there!" A officer ordered.
"That's so mean!" Hagakure yelled.
"They are training for war." Aizawa said. "Like I told you all before, the world is an unfair place that will not treat you fairly at any time. Just as it is a Hero's job to combat that unfairness against Villains and criminals, its a soldier's duty to train hard to overcome any circumstance that war will throw at you."
"At the end of this week, we will choose that man." Izuku was shown crawling through the mud, rifle in hand and helmeted underneath barbed wire. "He will be the first in a new breed of super-soldier."
"So are they going to do some science experiment or something to make one of them a super soldier?" Ojiro asked.
"Most likely." Todoroki said. "Its perhaps why Erskine is there and he is leading an experiment to turn a man into a super soldier."
"But what kind of super soldier?" Sato asked. " Like are they going to give this guy some kind of version of a Quirk or something?"
"Probably." Momo replied. "F.R.I.D.A.Y. said that this world does not have Quirks or genetic superpowers like ours, but rather advanced technology, magic, and biologically enhanced individuals. Perhaps this Super Soldier Program is the third one I listed."
Hodge looked back to Roger behind him and kicked the wooden pillar next to him, the wood falling over and the barbed wire falling and trapping the grunting Izuku.
"I am Really starting to hate that jerk!" Nejire pouted and glared.
"Unmanly." Kirishima muttered, glaring at the jerk soldier.
"Unmanly as hell." Tetsutetsu agreed with a nod.
Bakugou chose to keep his mouth shut as memories of his various forms of bullying, some going so far as to be considered torture, on Deku following back.
"Rogers! Get that rifle out of the mud!" An officer yelled as he marched towards him, Carter, clipboard in hand watching.
"And They will personally escort Adolf Hitler to the gates of Hell." Phillips ended his speech.
"You can do it Papa!" Eri cheered.
"Yeah! All those losers got nothing on you!" Kouta joined in.
This resulted in the girls cooing for the umpteenth time and the chuckles of the guys. Izuku smiled at Eri and Kouta ruffling their heads, much to the white-haired girl's enjoyment and giggles and the black-haired kid to blush embarrassingly brush away the hand and childishly pout.
The scene changed to the soldiers running in line. "Pick up the pace, ladies!" The officer yelled as he ran beside them. Izuku however ran a few feet behind the rest. "Let's go, let's go! Double Time!"
"Seeing this is actually bringing up the days of training Young Midoriya." All Might whispered to Gran Torino. "Remembered how he overworked himself and showed just how determined he was to excel and become the Greatest Hero in the World."
Gran Torino chuckled. "Yeah, I'd say this brings me back to me and Nana training you too, Toshinori. And all the times I whooped your ass into the ground."
While Gran Torino remembered with a fond grin, All Might shuddered in fear at the training that he could only describe as torture.
"Come on! Faster! Faster!" The officer yelled as they reached to where Carter and a soldier sat by in a jeep beside a flagpole with an army flag on top. "Move! Move! Squad, halt!"
The soldiers stopped, Izuku stopping a few feet behind them. The officer pointed to the flag on top of the flagpole. "That flag means we're only at the halfway point." The officer informed, Izuku panting as he crouched, hands on knees. "First man to bring it to me gets a ride back with Agent Carter."
The soldiers immediately rushed the flagpole and attempted to climb it, many of them slipping and failing to climb up before sliding down.
"Isn't that a little sexist to use a woman, who is a commanding officer, as a prize for a bunch of horny soldiers?" Itsuka questioned.
"Don't be such a prude, Kendo." Setsuna said, posing. "Me and my other self can't help it if we are so hot."
Ibarra groaned, pinching the bridge between her eyes in exasperation, while Izuku looked away quickly from the posing green-haired girl, mentally trying to purge the image from his brain. And trying to ease down the furious blush or the thoughts of how she actually looked...sexy.
"If that's all you got, this army's in trouble!" The officer taunted as Hodge climbed. "Get up there, Hodge! Come on! Get up there!" Hodge struggled to climb before he slipped and slid won to the ground, the other soldiers immediately attempting to climb.
"Oh thank god!" Setsuna gasped out in relief. "I Really did not want that prick to be the one driving with me."
"Why are they failing so much?" Kosei said. "Is that pole lined with butter or something?"
"Most likely." Vlad King replied. "The task is a simple incentivizing test to both work themselves harder physically and mentally."
"How mentally?" Sen said. "They are just climbing a freaking pole."
"Just watch, kiddo." Midnight replied. "You'll see."
"Nobody's got that flag in 17 years!" The officer revealed, as the soldiers failed over and over.
"This is actually quite funny." Sero said, munching on his popcorn. "I can just imagine one of them all the way and so close to slip and fall on someone's face."
"BAHAHAHA!" Kaminari burst out laughing. "Oh that would be hilarious!"
"Now fall back into line!" The officer ordered. "Come on, fall in!" The soldiers groaned before running into formation.
Izuku walked up to the pole, inspecting it up and down and smirked.
"Rogers!" The officer yelled. "I said fall in!"
Izuku pulled a pin off the bottom of the pole watching as the pole and flag fell to the ground.
"Smart kid." Snipe chuckled. "If you can't get to the flag, get the flag to you."
"Rather than uselessly trying and failing to climb with the rest of the group, Midoriya used his smarts to analyze the situation from afar and looked for a different angle." Ectoplasm said. "Well done."
"Nice one, Deku!" Uraraka cheered her friend/crush by pumping her arm into the air. "You showed those jerks whose boss!"
"T-Thanks, Uraraka." Izuku thanked back.
Army music played as Izuku walked to the flag, the officer and Hodge looking at him in surprise and shock, while Carter looked on in interest. Izuku grabbed the flag and handed it to the officer. "Thank you, sir." Rogers thanked the officer before climbing into the jeep, Hodge and the rest of the soldiers looking on it shock and some even face palmed in shame.
"Oh man, those guys look like they are beating themselves up so hard." Kyouka chuckled.
"Often the hardest of problems can be solved with the simplest of solutions." Nezu said with a smile.
"And despite his success, he showed humility and respect to his commanding officer rather than boast his victory!" All Might added, buffed up. "Truly an inspirational and worthy trait of a True Hero!"
Izuku smiled at the praise from the group, even if it was actually suppose to be going to the other him, as always, All Might's praise, hearing the pride and respect in his voice made his heart soar with inner pride.
As Izuku got settled in the back of the jeep, he and Setsuna met eyes, Izuku nodding in respect. The jeep drove off with Carter looking ahead with a smirk.
"Ooh, Midoriya, didn't know both you and Bakugou liked green-haired girls so much?" Sero teased/joked.
The results of that joke were half the guys chuckled while the other kept the murderous blonde haired teen from Sero. Izuku blushed up a storm and went into a muttering frenzy, before stopping cold, as he craned slowly and fearfully at the stares of his female classmates, plus, Nejire, Mei, and Melissa.
"Your other self looks like he was having rather happy, Deku." Uraraka said, her eyes closed, her smile menacing, and her tone both cheerful and heart-stoppingly terrifying.
"Yeah, really happy." Hagakure repeated, her tone likewise cheery, yet served to only made Izuku shiver in fear.
"Yeah, and your heart's beating kind of fast, 'Zuku." Kyouka said, phrasing her nickname for Izuku more threateningly, her earphone jack pointing at him menacingly.
"So, you want to explain yourself, Mi~do~ri~." Mina chimed in, her mouth in a grin yet her eyes promised pain.
"Is what Sero said true?" Asui asked, a dark aura over her blank face, her hand slightly fiddling with her own dark green-hair.
"Yes, I am so curious as to what you have to say for yourself, Izuku." Momo chimed in, half of her face covered by her fair strand, only showing one glaring eye and small smile, something which both frightened and, admittingly, aroused the green-haired teen.
"It is a rather curious development." Mei said, her eyes zooming in on Deku with a wicked, dark smile.
"Really curious." Nejire repeated, hovering above Deku, her upside, smiling face serving to scare the green bean more.
"Come on, Izuku, please enlighten us with what the smile was about?" Melissa asked threateningly, her eyes covered in white light et her smile wide and scary.
As Midoriya stuttered and explained for his life, Setsuna, the usual unfazed, joking, teasing girl, was busy blushing up her own storm.
"Jeez Setsuna." Setsuna jerked up in alarm and fear. She slowly turned to her right side, to see Ibarra and Kendo smiling at her. "That was quite the smile your other self had to Midoriya." Kendo said with a large smile. "Did perhaps the sweet, heroic Midoriya catch your attention?"
Setsuna's eye twitched, remembering her first tease on Ibarra yesterday. "I-I-I don't have a clue what you mean." She replied, looking away with a blush.
"Aww, Tokage." Ibarra said with a wide smile on her face. "Is this what you would say 'Dish but you can't take'?"
"Hey, its another me and another Izuku." Setsuna argued back.
"Huh, funny." Ibarra said. "That didn't logic didn't seem to stop you from teasing me all this time. Also you are calling him Izuku now?"
"L-Let's just continue the damn thing!" Setsuna yelled blushing more fiercely.
"Faster, ladies! Come on." Setsuna yelled, the scene changing to Carter taunting the soldiers as they did push ups. "My grandmother has more life in her, God rest her soul."
"Damn girl." Mina hissed. "You burned them better than my acid."
"Bahaha!" Setsuna laughed. "Nice one!"
As the two high fived, Kendo and Momo shared a look of exasperation.
"This is getting out of hand." Kaminari memed. "Now there are two of them."
Izuku panted and struggled to push himself up. "Move it!"
"You're not really thinking about picking Rogers, are you?" Phillips questioned Erskine as the two walked over and surveyed the group of soldiers.
"I'm more than just thinking about it." Erskine said. "He is the clear choice."
"When you brought a 90-pound asthmatic onto my army base, I let it slide." The Colonel said. "I thought 'What the hell'. Maybe he'd be useful to you, like a gerbil. I never thought you pick him."
"Up." Carter ordered, as the soldiers got up, Izuku the last to do so.
"You stick a needle in that kid's arm, its gonna go right through him." Phillips said as they looked at Izuku doing jumping jacks, his arms flopping like noodles. "Look at that. He's making me cry."
"Shut up, shut up." Death Arm whispered to his other self as the girls resumed their glares with greater intensity.
"I am looking for qualities beyond the physical." Erskine replied.
"Do you know how long it took to set up this project?" Phillips asked Erskine, who nodded. "All the groveling I had to do in front of Senator What's-His-Name's committees?"
"Brandt. Yes, I know." Erskine said. "I am well aware of your efforts."
"Then throw me a bone." Phillips said, looking over to the soldier. "Hodge passed every test we gave him." They looked at Hodge easily doing jumping jacks. "He's big, he's fast. Hey obeys orders. He's a soldier."
"Nope nope, nuh uh. Wrong wrong!" Uraraka exclaimed. "He is just a bully."
"No offense Mirio, but don't you think that he looks just like?" Nejire asked quietly.
Mirio blinked in confusion before he looked at Hodge. He narrowed his eyes and did admit that the two share a resemblance.
"I don't see it." Tamaki replied. "The hair maybe, but Mirio's more nicer and less ugly."
"Aw! Thanks Tamaki!" Mirio crushed the shy 3rd year in a hug. "I'm going to have to arrest you for passing my Hug Test!"
"I don't know what hurts worst." Tamaki groaned in pain. "The hug or that bad pun."
"He's a bully." Erskine countered.
"Thank you!" Uraraka exclaimed again.
"You don't win war with niceness, Doctor." Phillips countered back. The colonel walked over to the back of the truck next to them and pulled out an object from a box. "You win wars with guts." He pulled the pin on the grenade in his hands and showed it to Erskine.
"What is he doing?" Kyouka frowned in confusion.
"Don't tell me he's-" Ojiro said before the movie interrupted him.
Phillips drew the grenade to the ground next to the soldiers. "Grenade!" He yelled.
"What the hell?!" Most of the students yelled.
"Have you gone mental, you idiot?!" Mount Lady yelled at Death Arms, who was himself shocked.
Hodge and the rest of the soldiers ran away, ducking behind each other and the truck and ducking on the ground a mere feet away from the grenade.
All but one. Rogers flew towards the grenade, stopping Carter who was mid-step into a run towards it herself.
"NO!" The girls yelled in horror.
"The Hell Are You Doing You Shitty Deku?!" Bakugou yelled in both anger and fear.
Izuku was for a moment shocked before his eyes widened in realization.
Izuku covered the grenade with his body and yelled "Get Away!" Carter stopped, looking at Izuku, who waved at the soldiers. "Get Back!"
"Its not real." Izuku gasped out.
"What?" Uraraka asked, she and the group turning to Izuku.
"The grenade." Izuku repeated. "It was a dummy grenade. The whole thing was a test. Just look."
Seconds went by as the soldiers behind the truck, including Hodge peeked out, soldiers getting back up one by one. Izuku raised his head in confusion, the grenade not going off despite the length of time. He rose up a bit as an officer spoke "It was a dummy grenade."
"Huh, guess you were right Green Bean." Setsuna said.
Izuku looked to the grenade beside him and panted in relief. "All clear." The officer ordered. "Back in formation." Phillips and Erskine watched Izuku, the former frowning disappointed, the latter smiling. Carter too looked with a smile on her face.
Izuku panted. "Is this a test?" He questioned.
"Pssh, if that was a test than that was the stupidest thing that he could have done!" Monoma ranted. "Who would choose an idiot that would kill himself on a grenade when everyone else was already safe?!"
The students, both 1-A and 1-B, glared at the blonde haired douche, the girls more hatefully than the rest, finding this comment from the blonde douche a step too far. The teachers and heroes frowned at the kid's statement and his ignorance, with Vlad King shaking his head in disappointment and All Might's eye practically glowing blue in anger.
Izuku flinched at Monoma's rant, the rather loud jeer, once more drawing up rather painful memories.
"I'm sorry to stop your rather vocal ranting, Mr. Monoma, but I'm afraid that you are completely wrong." Nezu replied.
Izuku's eyes widened, the memories halting, as he and the rest of the group turned to the principal.
"That type of grenade looks like a Mark II fragmentation grenade, a type of grenade that has a 5 to 10 yard kill radius but the fragments would have killed everyone in a 50 yard radius." Nezu explained. "In that case, the soldiers were not all safe, aside from perhaps the ones hiding behind the truck."
"Plus those fragments can vary so the ones that ducked and covered their heads would also likely have died if the both it was a live grenade and the fragments were large enough." Snipe said.
"Also those grenades have a short time delay to throw it away, about 4-5 seconds, so it was obvious it was a dummy or they would have all died before it even hit the ground." Aizawa jumped in. "Likewise, Tokage's counterpart was also about to jump onto the grenade before Midoriya, likely to show what to the soldiers what they should have done."
"In war, a soldier is trained to fall on a grenade to save his comrades at the sacrifice of his own life!" All Might buffed up once more to say. "To lay down one's life for the sake of the mission and the safety of one's comrades is one of the absolute noblest and Heroic things that a soldier can do! In every aspect that counts, Young Midoriya passed the test with flying colors!"
The students were silent before they clapped at the knowledge of the teachers, mostly All Might's dramatic flair at the end, and praised both Izuku's, one for the deed and the other for being counterpart's to him.
"Couldn't have said it better myself." Nezu nodded.
Monoma gaped in and flushed in pure embarrassment as she slumped into his seat steaming.
"See, didn't I say you could do it Papa?" Eri pointed and asked excitingly.
Izuku smiled warmly at the little girl, a tear escaping the confides of his eye, and patted her head. "Yeah, yeah you did, Eri." He said. "P-Papa is happy that you believe in him so much."
Eri smiled wide, a tiny blush on her cheeks, welling up in joy at Deku finally acknowledging himself as her Papa.
"G-Goddammit!" Kirishima sniffled as tears streaked down his eyes. "How can Midoriya be more manly every time?!"
Phillips and Erskine stared at each other, Erskine shrugging his shoulders.
"He's still skinny." Phillips grumbled as he walked away.
"Not for long, I imagine." Miruko said.
Erskine watched the Colonel leave, before looking back to Izuku Rogers, a proud smile on his face.
Izuku warmly smiled at the screen, remembering the proud smile that he saw from his Mom the day he went to U.A. for the first time and the one from All Might that day on the beach he received One For All.
The scene changed to night, Izuku sitting in his bed, reading a book, until he heard a knock on the door. He turned to find Erskine entering the room, bottle in hand. "May I?" He asked.
"Yeah." Izuku nodded.
Abraham walked to Izuku, his other hand revealing two small glass cups. "Can't sleep?" He asked.
"Got the jitters, I guess." Rogers answered honestly.
"The jitters?" Miruko questioned. "Oh wait yeah, almost forgot this was the 40's. No wonder he is talking like a old man would."
Erskine laughed. "Me too." He admitted, before sitting down on the bed in front of Izuku.
"Can I ask you a question?" Izuku asked.
"Just one?" Erskine asked as he sat down.
"Oh, I see what he did there!" Kaminari exclaimed. "He asked if he could ask a question even though by asking that question he already asked one question."
"Way to state the obvious again, Captain Obvious." Kyouka groaned, rolling her eyes.
"Why me?" Izuku asked his question.
"I suppose that is the only question that matters." Erskine agreed, staring at the bottle in his hands. "This is from Augsburg. My city. So many people forget that the first country the Nazis invaded was their own."
"Damn." Sero said. "Never thought thought about that before."
"Often a country is taken over in the end by their very own people." Endeavor said.
"The American Revolution, the French Revolution, the Japanese Revolution, the list goes on and on, doesn't it?" Hawks added.
"You know, after the last war, my people struggled." Erskine informed. "They felt weak. They felt small. And then Hitler comes along with the marching and the big show and the flags." He stammered for a bit before continuing. "And he heard of me. My work. And he finds me. And he says 'You.'" He pointed at Izuku. "He says 'You will make us strong'."
"Since he is in America and working with the American military, I guess he wasn't at all interested." David said.
"Well, I am not interested." Erskine continued. "So he sends the head of Hydra, his research division, a brilliant scientist by the name of Johann Schmidt."
"Hydra?" Mina repeated. "So was that what those guys with him and that creepy symbol means?"
"Most likely." Momo said. "A Hydra is a Greek mythological dragon with multiple heads on long, tentacle-like necks, so that could explain the tentacles. The were also very dangerous and deadly monsters that usually brought death and destruction."
"Sounds like a rather fitting name for a Nazi group to call themselves." Setsuna said.
"Now, Schmidt is a member of the inner circle." Erskine continued his speech. "And he is ambitious." The screen showed Schmidt in Nazi attire, the Nazi flag behind him. "He and Hitler share a passion for occult and Teutonic myth." The images showed Schmidt looking at pages of of literature and myths, a fascination in his eyes.
"Teutonic?" Kinoko questioned.
"Teutonic refers to the Teutons, an ancient Germanic tribe." Jurota replied. "He likely means myths and religions that the Germans usually believe such as Norse mythology and Catholicism."
"Now, Hitler uses his fantasies to inspire his followers. But for Schmidt, it is not fantasy." Erskine explained. "For him, it is real."
"I guess that faith paid off with that glowing cube of infinite power." Sen said.
"He has become convinced that there is a great power hidden in the earth, left here by the gods, waiting to be seized by a superior man." Erskine further explained. "So when he heard about my formula and what it can do, he cannot resist." The images showed Schmidt yelling at a disapproving Erskine and Schmidt threatening him with a gun.
"So Schmidt is also a super soldier?" Uraraka questioned.
"It would make sense how he opened that heavy coffin when three guys combined couldn't." Izuku said. "The super soldier serum's most likely given trait would include a increased level of strength stronger than that of the average person."
"Schmidt must become that superior man." Schmidt was shown injecting himself with the serum, the background showing multiplying cells and smoke.
"Did it make him stronger?" Izuku asked.
"Yes." Erskine revealed. "But, there were other effects."
Schmidt shuddered and shook, the background image turning to fire and ash. "The serum was not ready." Erskine explained. Schmidt roared, fire surrounding him.
"Wait, what did happen to him?" Kaminari asked. "He looked fine when he say him."
"Maybe it has to do with why his skin was so stretchy." Melissa answered. "Or why he was constantly scratching the side of his face."
"It could also be connected to why people call him the Red Skull." Todoroki added.
"But more important, the man." Erskine added. "The serum amplifies everything that is inside, so good becomes great. Bad becomes worse." Erskine explained to Izuku, who listened in silence. Erskine looked to Steve with a smirk. "This is why you were chosen." Izuku perked up. "Because a strong man who has known power all his life may lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows that value of strength. And knows compassion."
'Is that why you also chose me All Might?' Izuku thought. 'Was my Quirklessness really a blessing after all?' Izuku looked discreetly towards the retired pro, who met his eyes with a serious expression. The former Symbol of Peace's eyes softened, his eyes acknowledging what Izuku was wordlessly asking, and smiled. Izuku eyes teared up a bit before smiling confidently.
Izuku nodded. "Thanks. I think." He thanked the scientist. He looked up to the scientist with a small smile.
"Have to say, if there is anyone among us to get a power like that, then Midoriya is the hands down best choice." Mirio said, clapping Midoriya's shoulder with a smile.
"I second that." Iida said.
"No doubt about it!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"It would be super stupid to think of anyone else." Melissa agreed.
"Alright, alright, enough saying the obvious and stroking Shitty Deku's ego and let's just watch the damn movie already!" Bakugou yelled.
Izuku looked to the explosive blonde, their eyes meeting, with Deku smiling and nodding. Bakugou turned away with a snort, but now without slipping a smirk of his own.
Erskine smiled back. He gestured to Rogers to give him the cups as he uncorked the bottle and pours the drink. "Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing." Erskine said. "That you will stay who you are. Not a perfect soldier, but," He pointed to Roger's heart. "A Good man."
Even though it wasn't said to himself, Izuku nodded. 'I promise.' Izuku thought.
Izuku nodded before smirking with a chuckle. "To the little guys." He toasted, the two tapping their cups.
Just before Izuku could take a drink, Erskine suddenly yelled "No, no. Wait, Wait! What am I doing? No, you have procedure tomorrow. No fluids."
"Pfft, for a scientist that took him a while to realize." Sero said.
Izuku chuckled as Erskine poured his drink into his own. "Alright." Izuku said. "We'll drink it after."
"No, I don't have procedure tomorrow." Erskine disagreed. "Drink it after? I drink it now." He drank the drink, Izuku smiling amused.
The group chuckled at the doctor's antics. Nezu meanwhile watched the scene with a foreboding sense of dread running down his spine.
Operatic music played, as the scene changed to the Hydra facility once more, Garaki walking through the door, stopping as bright light shone behind him.
A hand flipped a switched, the lights turning off, as a figure was covered in the darkness. "Is there something in particular you need?" Schmidt's voice came from the figure.
"Why is he just turning off the light and shrouding himself in darkness?" Sato asked.
"More importantly, his head." Shoji pointed. "It looks...different. More rounder maybe?"
Mei looked closely with her zoomed in eyes, noticing the structure of his face was more bony and more like an actual skull.
Garaki looked to the figure next to him, a painter with a canvas in front of him with oil. He noticed that the only two colors on the present were black and, most especially, red.
"What the hell is up with all the red?" Miruko said. "Is it his favorite color or some shit?"
"It looks like he is making an oil painting of him, but why not white for his hair and face?" Ryukyu asked.
Garaki shook himself and said "I, uh, understand you found him."
"See for yourself." Schmidt gestured to the side.
Garaki walked over to the table in front of him, staring at the photos of Erskine in New York.
"Well damn that sucks." Awase cursed. "That's not good."
"You disapprove." Schmidt said. Not as a question, but a statement.
"I just don't see why you need concern yourself." Garaki replied. "I can't imagine he will succeed." Schmidt stared at him from the darkness silent. "A-Again." Garaki stuttered out.
"His serum is the Allies' only defense against this power we now possess." Schmidt explained. "If we take it away from them, then our victory is assured."
"Is he seriously suggesting that something that sounds like its a super steroid or something can counter weapons powered by a cube of infinite power?" Kamakiri questioned.
"Like the colonel said, men are what win wars, not weapons." Vlad King said. "And if they succeed with Midoriya then they can possibly replicate it and create an army of super soldiers that would easily win the war, even against weapons as strong as the say."
Garaki, his eyes still showing disapproval, shook it off and asked "Shall I give the order?"
"It has been given." Schmidt revealed.
Garaki breathed in. "Good." He said.
As he began to walk away, Schmidt called out to him. "Dr. Garaki!" The doctor stopped in his tracks. Schmidt, his figure unknown to the audience, flipped the switch, the lights turned back on. "What do you think?"
Garaki walked back and looked at the oil painting in progress. He smiled and said "A Masterpiece." The painter breathed a sigh of relief, his face covered in fear.
All Might narrowed his eyes. 'Just what could that painter be so afraid of?' All Might thought. 'All that he would see would be Shigaraki. Right?'
The next scene showed a group of kids playing baseball in the middle of the street, a black car passing by as they moved aside.
"I know this neighborhood." Izuku said, he and Setsuna riding in the back of the black car, Izuku pointing outside. "I got beat up in that alley." As they passed through more areas, he continued. "And that parking lot." Setsuna blinked at the information before recomposing herself. "And behind that diner."
"D-Deku, u-um, were you perhaps um...also bullied?" Uraraka fearfully asked.
Deku remained silent, his eyes shadowed by his hair. His hand were clenched so hard that they were nearly white. He looked over to Bakugou out of the corner of his sight. The explosive was as frozen as himself, his eyes looking back at him with regret and guilt. Subtly, Bakugou gritted his teeth and nodded, giving him the go-ahead.
"Y-Yeah." He finally responded.
"When and how long?" Nezu asked further.
"For 11 years." Deku replied. "Since I was 4. Everyday."
The gym was filled with silence. The girls, both crushing on Deku and non alike, practically holding their hands over their mouth in sheer horror. Uraraka and Momo looked absolutely horrified at the answer, tears welling up in their eyes. Asui's normal blank stare cracked to a furious glare, croaking in anger. Both Mina, Setsuna, Nejire, and Kyouka gritted their teeth, seething in rage towards whoever bullied their friend and crush, while Hagakure practically whimpered and lightly sobbed at the pain that Izuku must have gone through. Mei frowned, her fists clenched and teeth gritting, her mind already working on ways to find the bastards and introduce them to her 'less safe' babies.
Melissa gasped in horror, eyes welling up in tears, memories of her own recalling of her own bullying. 'He must have gotten bullied because everyone though he was Quirkless.' She thought. 'Mine was only little because I was a Shield but...if Izuku spent all the time...oh god!'
The guys weren't any better, eyes wide in alarm and welling in anger. Todoroki's gritted his teeth, flames spurting out his left side. Iida's arms finally stopped waving, instead shaking as he gripped his seat hard, his glasses hiding the anger welling up in them. Kirishima gritted his teeth in anger as well, though he noticed something else that caught his attention: Bakugou. The red-haired teen would have thought that the spiky blonde would have literally exploded in rage, that he would have been enraged at the unfair treatment of a childhood friend of his. Instead, Bakugou was silent, frozen in place, his eyes practically hollow as he peeked at them.
'Wait.' Kirishima froze in thought. 'They were childhood friends, both Midoriya and Bakugou. And even I'm not blind that Bakugou has a very short temper. And...he was really harsh and rough towards Midoriya at the Battle Training. And the Final Exams...And most of the year...And he did call him useless and Quirkless in Mr. Aizawa's tests.'
Kirishima's eyes widened in horror. 'B-But...no! T-That's not possible. I-I'm overthinking things. I mean, Bakugou is a bit rough around the edges but he wouldn't stoop so low as to bully Midoriya for 11 years. I mean...U.A. would have noticed that on his record and not even accepted him into here. Bakubro's not some bully...right?'
The adults frowned in rising anger and pity for the green-haired teen. While Aizawa clenched his fists tightly in anger, he flinched as he recalled the words he said to Midoriya at his turn at the ball toss, mentally wondering if his harsh words may have been a step too far. The pro heroines sent looks of pity and sadness at the currently comforted teen. Even Miruko sent a look of sympathy towards Deku, right before she growled in anger at the bullshit that one kid had to endure for so long.
Gran Torino and Recovery Girl frowned and looked over at Toshinori only to recoil at the what they saw. All Might was steaming, literally, already in his muscled form as his eyes practically glowed in pure rage and hatred that they only saw reserved for All For One. The armrests by his side were reduced to rubble by his hands gripped so tightly on them. Internally, he cursed at those who tortured his successor for so long, at the world for being so cruel towards both Midoriya and even Shigaraki, his master's grandson, and finally, himself, for allowing such a travesty to occur under his reign as the Number 1 Hero and not speaking out against it, despite his own Quirkless past.
He immediately turned towards Bakugou, remembering how the boy practically admitted his past with Young Midoriya, only now he realized just how far it went. The retired pro now felt more conflicted in how to feel about Bakugou. He knew that he should report this, but he knew the damage that it would cause to the boy and Midoriya, the hell that Bakugou would receive from his fellow students, and likely jeopardize his future as a hero and as a student at this school, especially in his attempts to make amends with his former victim.
Nezu frowned, looking between Midoriya and Bakugou, already fully aware as the pieces of a puzzle right in front of him has pieced together. 'It appears that we have much to discuss, Mr. Bakugou.' As he thought this, his tail stuck up straight, the hairs standing up from the anger that radiated off of the Principal of U.A.
After the students comforted the green-haired teen, and said teen convinced them for the 10th time that he was okay and over it, they decided to go on with the movie.
"Did you have something against running away?" Setsuna asked.
Izuku sighed and shook his head. "You start running, they'll never let you stop." Rogers replied. "You stand up, you push back. They can't say no forever, right?"
"Is that-" Melissa began to ask before Izuku interrupted her.
"Yes." Izuku answered. "I always had the chance to run, to not get involved when they would bully another kid, but each and every time, I didn't. As much as they jeered me and mocked me for it, I always wanted to be a Hero. A Hero that saves people with a smile on his face, that never runs from the Villains and danger, but meets it head on. No matter how many times they said that I would never become a Hero, or to give up, I always said the same thing in my heart: 'No, You move'."
The response from that included proud smiles, hearts and blushes from certain females rising to new levels, and Kirishima and Tetsutetsu practically bawling rivers and tears from their eyes before bowing down to the startled cinnamon roll proclaiming him the 'God of Manliness'.
"I know little of what that's like," Carter replied, turning to Rogers. "To have every door shut in your face."
"Setsuna." Itsuka turned to her class's own green-haired teen. "I'm guessing you experienced the same thing, too."
"Yep." Setsuna grumbled, arms crossed. "Not as bad as her in the 40's obviously, but not many people I met who didn't laugh at a girl who could split herself into pieces wanting to become a Hero."
"Then they were all stupid and not worth the time." Setsuna gasped and looked downwards to Izuku who spoke. "Your Quirk is so versatile and amazing and one of the most awesome Quirks I've ever seen. Multiple uses for espionage, battle, tracking a Villain group to their hideout, recon, long distance communication. If they couldn't see that, then they aren't worth a second glance or care."
Setsuna gaped in shock at how the normally shy, kind hero-in-training said those words, her heart practically going a million miles an hour. She smiled gratefully. "Thank you, Midoriya." She said, no jokes, no teasing in her voice, just pure honesty.
"N-No problem." Izuku immediately did a complete 180, going back to nervous trainwreck in a matter of seconds, making the green-haired girl giggle, and the once proud, smiling girls beside him go from proud to jealous rage.
"I'm getting the feeling that we are just going to be singing Midoriya's praises for the rest of this movie." Kaminari whispered to Mineta and Sero, as Kirishima and Tetsutetsu bowed to the proclaimed manly god once again.
"Well didn't we do the same with Bakugou in his movies?" Sero said.
"Not this much and soon." Kaminari whispered back.
"Its not fair!" Mineta whispered loudly. "Why does he get all the hot babes with that nervous trainwreck and shy act?!"
"I'm not sure that's an act dude." Sero replied.
"I guess I just don't know why you'd want to join the Army if you were a beautiful dame." Izuku said, before quickly correcting himself with "Or a...A w-woman." Carter looked to Izuku. "A-An a-agent. N-Not a d-dame. You are beautiful, but..." Izuku stuttered and scratched his head.
"Oh my god! They both have the stutter!" Mina laughed, the others joining while Deku blushed, both at the laughing and for what he said on film.
Likewise, his fellow green-haired teen was blushing at the compliment and the smirking stares of Ibarra and Kendo.
"You have no idea how to talk to a woman, do you?" Setsuna questioned him, a smirk on her face.
Izuku chuckled. "I think this is the longest conversation I've had with one." Izuku admitted.
"And we're back to sad again." Pixie Bob groaned.
Setsuna shook her head slightly as she grinned.
"Women aren't exactly lining up to dance with a guy they might step on." Rogers explained.
"You must have danced?" Carter asked, looking back to him.
"Well, asking a woman to dance always seemed so terrifying." Izuku admitted. "And the past few years, it just...didn't seem to matter that much. I figured I'd wait."
"For what?" Setsuna asked.
Izuku stared ahead and answered "The right partner."
Setsuna stared ahead as well, a large smile on her face, a tiny blush on her cheek.
"Oooh Midoriya~!" Pixie Bob exclaimed. "You sly smooth talker you! Now I see how you got yourself a whole bunch of lovely ladies pawing for you~!"
Izuku's and the girls' faces went practically supernova. "W-W-WHAT D-D-DO Y-YOU MEAN?! I-I-I-I D-DON'T HAVE ANYONE P-P-PAWING OVER ME?!"
"TEACH ME YOUR WAYS YOU BASTARD!" Mineta screamed as he jumped towards Izuku. Only to be sent flying through the air with from a metal baseball bat from Momo.
"T-Thanks, Momo." Izuku stuttered out.
"Y-Your welcome, Izuku." Momo stuttered out herself.
"How does he not see it?!" Sero questioned quietly to Kaminari. "Is he blind or something?"
"He is like the protagonist of some shitty harem anime." Kaminari exasperated, shaking his head.
The car parked by an antique store, Izuku and Setsuna stepping out.
"This way." Carter instructed as she turned around to the antique store entrance, Rogers following close behind with his Private's cap on.
"What are we doing here?" Izuku asked.
"Follow me." Setsuna replied as she entered the store, the bell ringing as the entered.
"That did not answer his question." Kosei said.
"Better to just show the answer rather than explain it out in the open with civilians." Snipe said.
"Plus they clearly have their own spies in America if they found and took pictures of Erskine." Gran Torino said. "So they would have to be cautious for things like that."
As Carter and Rogers walked in, a old lady entered from the back. She greeted them saying "Wonderful weather this morning, isn't it?"
"Yes, but I always carry an umbrella." Carter replied.
The old lady walked to the counter, pressing a button on the underside of it, the screen panning down to show a sub-machine gun hidden underneath.
"Jesus, granny's packing." Setsuna exclaimed.
"Must you so callously throw the name of my Lord and Savior around so sinfully?" Ibarra asked.
"Yes, how else am I going to exclaim so dramatically?" Setsuna replied.
Ibarra sighed tiredly.
Setsuna and Izuku walked through the curtains the old lady walked out from and stood in front of a bookcase. Izuku looked to her confused before the bookcases moved to reveal a hidden pathway, the inside occupied by military dressed individuals.
"Ooh, secret entrances." Hagakure said excitingly. "Its like they are spies."
"In fairness, Setsuna Carter Is a spy." F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied.
"I just keep getting more awesome by the minute." Setsuna smiled.
The two entered and walked to the doors at the end of the hall. The doors opened up, Izuku looking down to see a large lab underneath him, full of machines and scientists. In the middle of the room was a large capsule.
Mei was currently drawing up the designs of the capsule in an instant.
As they entered, the scientists stopped their discussions to look up at Rogers silently.
"Why do they have to look at me like I'm some kind of dead man?" Izuku shivered as if he was actually there.
"Probably cause the last person that tried it was an unstable Nazi." Shinsou answered.
"Thanks, really helpful." Izuku sighed nervously.
Izuku and Carter looked at each other before descending the stairs to the lab below. The two walked towards Erskine. "Good morning." Erskine greeted them, a hand raised to shake. Izuku took and shook the scientist's hand, a photographer taking a picture of the two. "Please, not now." Erskine said to the photographer.
"Why the photobomb?" Sen asked.
"Presumably to preserve a likely historic moment for American history and, also, the world." Jurota replied.
Izuku looked to the capsule wearingly, Erskine asking "Are you ready?"
Izuku nodded in reply.
"Good." Erskine said. "Now take off your shirt, your tie, and your hat."
Izuku looked back to Setsuna before removing his hat, Setsuna looking away.
"Wonder what this super soldier serum is going to do with his skinny ass?" Miruko pondered.
"Most likely transform him into our own Midoriya's current physique." Ryukyu answered.
"Mmm, I can hardly wait to see the results." Midnight licked her lips in anticipation.
"Kayama, control yourself." Nezu warned.
Up above in a viewing booth overlooking the lab was a room full of officials, Colonel Phillips walking in and greeting a man with a handshake. "Senator Brandt, glad you could make it." Phillips greeted.
"Is that the Senator who's ass you had to kiss, DA?" Mount Lady asked.
"They have the same name so I think that was obvious, Lady." Death Arms replied, a comical angry tick on his head at being reminded.
"Why exactly am I in Brooklyn?" The Senator asked.
"We needed access to the city's power grid." Phillips answered. "Of course, if you'd given me the generators I requisitioned-"
"A lot of people are asking for funds, Colonel." Brandt replied, cutting him off.
"Makes sense." David said. "With this amount of technology more sophisticated than the 40's had, they would likely need a large amount of power for this experiment."
"Oh, this is Clem uh-" The Senator turned his attention to a black haired man in glasses beside them.
"Fred Clemson, State Department." The man introduced himself to the Colonel. "If this project of yours comes through, we'd like to see it used for something other than headlines."
Nezu frowned as this Clemson spoke those final words, them lighting up the warning blares in his intelligent brain.
Brandt looked down to the lab. "Jesus." The Senator exclaimed softly as he looked at the now shirtless Izuku as he laid down on the capsule. "Somebody get that kid a sandwich."
"No offense Midoriya, but your skinny other self makes me want to make a whole feast out of concern for your health." Sato said.
"None taken." Izuku said, rubbing his neck.
Izuku laid himself straight on the capsule, Erskine walking to his side. "Comfortable?" He asked.
Izuku looked down and chuckled. "Its a little big." He replied.
"Not for long, I imagine." Hawks smirked.
"Dude, I like you, you're cool, but don't copy me." Miruko said.
Erskine chuckled.
"You save me any of that schnapps?" Rogers asked.
"Not as much as I should have." Erskine replied. "Sorry. Next time."
"Anyone else getting 'There won't be a next time' kind of vibe here?" Mic whispered to his fellow teachers.
"Unfortunately, yeah." Midnight replied.
All Might frowned at how he agreed that there was something that was off. 'Either this could end in Young Mido-I mean-Young Rogers's harm in the test, or perhaps it could be the spy that Schmidt that he ordered after Erskine.' He pondered. 'Either way, I have a bad feeling about this would the biggest understatement ever.'
"Mr. Stark, how are your levels?" Erskine asked aloud, Izuku turning to see Masaru Stark walking towards them.
"Hey look Bakubro, your pops is here!" Kirishima pointed excitingly.
"Makes sense that they would bring in a smart scientist and billionaire to help fund and run the experiment." Kyouka pointed out.
Bakugou frowned once more at the arrival of his father, pondering this is what he contributed to fight the Nazis like his other self said in the first video.
"Levels at 100%." Masaru answered.
"Good." Erskine said.
"We may dim half the light in Brooklyn," Masaru said as he and Izuku stared at each other, a scientists strapping Izuku to the machine. "But we are ready as we'll ever be."
"Agent Carter." Erskine turned his attention to Setsuna who stood beside them this whole time. "Don't you think you would be more comfortable in the booth?"
"Oh, yes, of course." Setsuna realized and said. "Sorry."
"Good." Erskine said again.
Setsuna turned back to see Izuku, the two staring at each other. Carter flashed a small smile of comfort at him before walking up the steps.
"Aww, scared that your little crush may get hurt?" Kendo teasingly asked Tokage.
"Hey, teasing people about their crushes is My thing!" Setsuna replied, her cheeks still blushing. "Yours is being exasperated by me and knocking our own blonde douche out."
Momo opened his mouth in reply, only for the point to be made with Kendo raising her hand without looking and him shutting up.
Erskine walked to the in front of the capsule and looked towards the booth. He held a microphone in his hand. He flicked his finger at the mic, the feedback alerting the watcher in the booth to him.
Kyouka slightly hissed at the feedback.
"Do you hear me? Is this on?" Erskine asked, the booth watchers taking their seats. "Ladies and gentlemen, today, we take not another step towards annihilation, but the first step on the path to peace."
A scientist lowered two machine with metal plating onto Izuku's thin chest.
"Erm, I starting to get really nervous about this." Uraraka squirmed nervously. "What if something goes wrong?"
Asui grabbed Uraraka's hand and squeezed in comfort, Ochaco realizing the frog girl's own shakiness and nervous energy from her hand.
"Way to spell out the obvious, girl." Mina said, herself squirming in her seat. "I was trying to play it down, but even I'm getting, as other Midori said, 'the jitters'."
"Relax, you two." Momo replied. "Dr. Erskine said that the serum wasn't ready when Schmidt took it and they wouldn't be doing this operation if he didn't believe it was ready. Everything is going to be fine."
Despite her words of comfort, it was obvious of her true feelings by the rapid tapping of her foot and nervous shaking of her hands.
Two scientists wheeled in a large capsule. "We begin with a series of microinjections into the subject's major muscle groups." Erskine explained, as the scientists opened the capsule, revealing a few vials of blue liquid.
"So that must be the super soldier serum." Izuku said.
He suddenly felt a hand grab onto his. He looked to see that the hand over his belonged to Melissa. When he looked at the girl in question, she too realized her action and immediately removed it.
"S-Sorry." Melissa said, blushing.
"No no, i-its fine." Izuku, blushing as well. "I'm a little scared of other me too. So um, if you want to...you know...I wouldn't be o-opposed."
"O-Okay." Melissa said, her blush renewed in full after she got over the shock of Izuku's reply.
The two held hands and went practically nuclear, steam pouring from their red faces. Their blush was only settled down by their joined hands being held by another one, Eri's. Izuku would feel a hand on his other one, looking to find it belonging to Kouta. Izuku and Melissa smiled at the interaction and didn't say a word in reply.
Carter sat down in a seat, Clemson taking a seat behind her.
Setsuna started biting on her nails as he own nervousness kicked in. An action that was quickly spotted by the vine-haired girl next to her. As much as Ibarra wished to tease back in retribution, she shook her head and realized it wasn't the time, remembering Setsuna's own kindness and restraint when she was nervous.
"The serum infusion will cause immediate cellular change." Erskine continued explaining, the scientist grabbing all but one vial of the serum, placing the three vials into sockets on each side of the capsule. "And then, to stimulate growth, the subject will be saturated with Vita-Rays."
"Vita Rays?" Kyouka repeated confused.
"Vita Rays or Vita Radiation is an electromagnetic radiation which uses a specific wavelength used to activate, stabilize, and speed up the effects of the Super-Soldier Serum." F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied. "They were also created by Dr. Erskine as a much needed addition to the experiment."
"Interesting." David said. "So the serum would likely take time to fully activate and change his body, but with these Vita Rays that can speed up the process."
"But why do they need to just speed up the process?" Mic asked. "Isn't speeding something dangerous as this always risky?"
"They want to mass create an army of super-soldiers to win the war, and every second they waste is another soldier lost that they could have prevented." Endeavor replied.
"Is that why they left only one of the vials there?" Fat Gum asked. "As a backup to make more later?"
"Probably." Ryukyu said. "Would be wasteful and risky to use all of the serum in one go and then not have any left should the experiment succeed or fail."
Erskine walked back to Izuku's side as a nurse injected Izuku with a needle on his shoulder, Izuku flinching in slight pain. "That wasn't so bad." Izuku commented.
"That was penicillin." Erskine clarified. Izuku whirled his head to stare at the scientist, Erskine shrugging.
"Why penicillin?" Hagakure asked, growing worried at the answer.
"Probably because this experiment is going to be incredibly painful if not deadly to his pain tolerance without that penicillin." Mei chirped, although her usual cheery, carefree tone was more worried and anxious.
Nejire squirmed and practically vibrated in her seat in worry that Amajiki had to restrain her with his tenacles.
"Serum infusion beginning in Five." Erskine counted down.
Melissa squeezed Deku's hand.
Phillips watched from the booth with a nervous expression.
"Four." Setsuna breathed in deep breathes.
Bakugou gripped the armrest once more tightly.
"Three." The machine moved two parts onto Roger's arms.
All Might clasped his hands together in near prayer.
"Two." Erskine placed his hand on Izuku's shoulder.
Izuku gulped and breathed deeply.
"One." Erskine finished the countdown.
A scientist flipped a switch, the blue fluid of the serum flowing down the tubes towards Izuku's shoulders. Rogers grunted in pain, his face scrunched and teeth clenched. His eyes opened wide, the emerald in his eyes lightning up brightly.
"Now, Mr. Stark." Erskine said, turning to the rich inventor.
Masaru nodded and flipped his own switch. The pod shifted and moved upright, the sides and top of the capsule slowly closing, covering Izuku's whole body. Setsuna breathed deeply again.
Setsuna felt the supporting hand of Ibarra and the rest of the girls next to her, a feeling of gratitude for them welling up and easing the worry.
Another scientist placed a tube leaking air into he back of the capsule, twisting it into place.
Erskine walked up the steps to the capsule and knocked on the side. "Izuku? Can you hear me?" He asked.
"Its probably too late to go to the bathroom, right?" Rogers commented.
The chuckle that rang through the group helped ease the tension and worry.
Erskine smirked and turned back to Stark. "We will proceed."
Stark nodded turning the dial while those in the booth watched expectantly. Masaru placed goggles over his eyes and walked towards a valve. He placed his hands on it and slowly turned it, the reader's arrow slowly moving in sync.
"That's 10%." Masaru announced, the pod's window glowing in bright light. "20%."
"So those are the Vita Rays." Power Loader said, rubbing his chin in thought.
"30%." He counted down, Erskine placing a hand over his eyes at the blinding light.
"That's 40%." Carter, Phillips, and the rest of the viewers narrowing their eyes at the light.
"Vital signs are normal." Another scientist informed.
"This is so nerve racking." Uraraka groaned.
"That's 50%." Masaru informed, the light growing brighter and brighter. "60%. 70%."
Izuku screamed in horrible pain.
"IZUKU!" The students yelled in worry.
Izuku flinched in pain at the sheer amount of strength in Melissa's grip.
Carter rushed out of her seat, Clemson leaning forwards.
"Izuku!" Erskine yelled as he rushed to the pod, Izuku still screaming. "Izuku!"
"Shut it down!" Setsuna yelled.
"Listen To Other Me!" Setsuna yelled. "Get Him Out!"
"Izuku!" Erskine yelled as he pounded on the capsule for a response.
"Shut It Down!" Carter yelled more vehemently.
"SHUT THE FUCKING REACTOR DOWN BEFORE I GO IN THERE AND BLOW YOU ALL UP MYSELF!" Bakugou roared.
"Kill the reactor, Mr. Stark!" Erskine whirled and pointed towards Stark, who rushed to the controls. "Turn if off! Kill it! Kill the reactor!"
"Fucking Finally!" Kyouka cursed.
"No!" Roger's voice yelled out from the capsule, Erskine turning back in surprise. "Don't! I Can Do This!" He yelled out, his voice strained in pain.
"WHAT?!" Mina yelled, tears starting to well in her eyes. "WHY?! WHY IS HE CONTINUING THROUGH THIS?!"
"Because that's just how Midoriya is." Todoroki said, remembering back to their fight in the Sports Festival, Izuku breaking his fingers over and over to make him use his fire. "Bearing through the pain to achieve his goal. No matter what."
"Putting himself in harm's way for sake of others." Iida jumped in.
"For once, I have to agree with Icy Hot." Bakugou snarled out. "Stupid Deku doesn't know when to give up."
Izuku smiled fondly at the response of his three biggest rivals.
Erskine looked to Stark hesitantly and nodded. Masaru went back to the valve and turned it again.
"80." Masaru continued, the light growing unbearable.
"Come on come on." All Might whispered. "Please be okay, Young Midoriya."
"90!" Erskine covering his eyes at the light.
The group themselves squinted at the bright, Tokoyami practically groaning at the painfully bright light.
"The Light! The LIGHT IT FUCKING BURNS!" Dark Shadow cawed in pain.
"That's 100%." Masaru announced.
Electricity hummed loudly, the light flashing, the machines around them sparking in electricity.
"What's happening?!" Hagakure yelled.
"Its looks like its overloading!" Momo replied back.
Suddenly, the humming ceased and the light shut off, the machine powering down.
"It stopped." Asui pointed out. "Did it work?"
Setsuna looked down, eyes fearful yet hoping. Erskine lowered his hands and Masaru lowered his goggles.
"Open the damn thing already!" Setsuna yelled.
"Mr. Stark." Erskine shouted as Masaru flipped a switch again.
Triumphant music played as the capsule opened to reveal Izuku Rogers changed drastically. He stood in the pod taller, his arms large and incredibly muscled, his once skinny chest now large and chiseled like Greek god's. His thin neck was bulging, his baggy pants now tight around his larger, muscular legs. Chiseled six-pack abs adorned his stomach, lined and shifting exquisitely with every panted breath of Izuku Rogers, his body coated and shining a thick sheen of sweat that lit his muscles from the lights above.
...
...
...
Silence was the only reaction present, the group's jaws practically on the floor and their eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. The guys were stunned at the new physique of their classmate, feelings of jealousy, inferiority even, welling up. Others practically went down onto their hands and knees, ie Kirishima and Tetsutetsu, and bowed before what they chanted a Manly god made flesh. Bakugou's eye twitched, jealousy sprouting inside his heart, that he does have, only to be then filled with anger at the acceptance of him being jealous of Deku at all. Todoroki blinked his wide eyes in surprise, shaking his head and reminding himself that he was straight.
Mirio smiled wide and thought that other Izuku looked as buff as, even not buffer than himself. Amajiki wordlessly agreed with Mirio's thoughts as he thought he saw Deku's head plastered onto Mirio's body. Eri's and Kouta's eyes went wide in awe and joy, both at seeing their hero/father figure alright and looking awesome.
The male pros were likewise impressed, with even Endeavor nodding in respect of the pinnacle of male physique. All Might smiled wide in pride, practically that this was what Deku would be when he became a pro, tall, mighty, and powerful, like himself. Better than himself. Aizawa rolled his eyes yet smirked nonetheless as well. After overcoming his own shock, Hawks practically balled his eyes out in laughter as he bore witnessed the reaction of the feminine side of the group.
The women of the group were practically as red as traffic stoplights, waterfalls of drool escaping their agape mouths, their eyes practically clouded in a veil of feminine lust. Even the pro heroines were affected, aside from Recovery Girl. Mandalay, Ryukyu, and Thirteen were practically covering their eyes, overwhelmed by the very sight of this hulking specimen, thought couldn't help but peek through the widening gaps between their fingers. Midnight, Pixie Bob, Mount Lady, and Ragdoll all smiled lustfully, their faces the definition of a predator. Even Miruko licked her lips and smiled in lust at the body of the hunk, wondering if he found the right man to keep up with her.
The female classmates were affected just as bad, if not worse. Some of the girls of Class 1-B merely blushed, Kendo covering her face with her enlarged hands and chose to simply turn her attention to Tetsutetsu. Kinoko and Pony likewise blushed and shyly looked away. Yui and Reiko were blank faced, the only type of reaction from them being a blush and wide eyes, as well as perhaps paying more attention to their own green-haired teen for...research purposes. Even Ibarra blushed but quickly turned away, not wanting to stare at what was her admitted crush's childhood friend. That didn't however stop the spike of anger and jealousy that said explosive blonde suddenly felt, along with the overwhelming urge to blast Deku into a million pieces.
But as for the rest of the girls, they look positively brain-dead. Uraraka became a blushing, stuttering mess that if not for Sero snapping out of his jealous mutterings, Uraraka would have floated all the wall to the ceiling. Asui's face was brighter red than ever before, practically feeling like she was boiling by how hot she was feeling. Drool escaped Mina's agape, goofy looking mouth, along her eyes half-closed and all basic function in her head seemed dead. Kyouka became a blushing mess almost as bad as Uraraka, wrapping her whole face with her jacks, with only a small gap to peek through. For Momo, she looked like she was a touch away from fainting, her face as red as her hero suit, and trying to calm herself down by literally creating a fan and setting it to fast. Hagakure, however, straight up fainted, her only words in her semi-comatose state being 'Hubba Hubba' like a broken record. A trail of blood fell down Mei's blushing nose as she remained frozen. Melissa's reaction resorted to a mix of blushing muttering, steam escaping her ears head like a sauna, and waving her hands over her face. Nejire was practically frozen, her mind completely void of thought, and massive blush and drool her only responses.
Setsuna was an amalgamation of all these reactions, from her pieces detaching and floating like Uraraka, to the absolute thirsty drooling and nosebleed of Mina, Mei, and Nejire, her massive blush making her look like a literal tomato, and her mutterings practically non-sensical.
Deku himself looked at himself in awe of himself, his mind not comprehending how this near-All Might level of a man could ever have been him, other version or otherwise.
His thoughts were cut when suddenly Nejire appeared right in front of him, eyes shadowed by her hair. "Take it off." She muttered.
"H-Huh?" Deku questioned confused.
Nejire lifted her head, Izuku paling at the pure insanity and desperation that was in Nejire's eyes. "Take off your shirt. Or I will do it." She said eerily cheerful. "De~ku!"
Izuku became the now second blushing, tomato-looking student in the group. "W-Wai-AH!" Was all Deku could say before Nejire dragged Izuku out of his seat and ripped his plain green T-shirt, with the words T-shirt on it, straight off his body.
Deku's own muscular body was exposed to the group, his chest chiseled, his abs to the girls practically delectable, every muscle in his body looking fit and sculpted just right. His physique wasn't yet like his counterparts, but the girls suspected, and hoped, that give or take a year or two and Midoriya's body would catch up with his counterparts. Not that they, as well as the female pros, didn't like what they saw.
The only thing that snapped them out of their lust-crazed thoughts, and what saved Deku from them hounding on him, were the scars. His whole body was littered with them. From tiny ones like cuts and scratches, to more larger ones like the patch on his shoulder and what looked like the fading remnants of burn scars.
The girls were rendered mute and unresponsive, Deku and Bakugou practically frozen in fear as they noticed the burn scars from years past, until Mina stood up with a serious expression.
"Midori." Mina said seriously. "From now on, you are forbidden from wearing shirts in the presence of the girls. All those agreed?"
"Aye!" The girls yelled and raised their hands, with even the pro heroines joining in, either discreetly or full blown unfazed.
Izuku was practically about to explode by how red looked, until Eri rushed towards Deku and jumped onto his chest, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. She turned to the girls, her face pouting and said "Don't objectify, Papa!"
The guys practically exploded in laughter. All Might laughed so hard that blood was spewing out of his mouth. Normally stoic and blank-faced members, such as Todoroki, Shinsou, and Endeavor chuckled. Even Bakugou roared in laughter, his laugh the perfect impression of a Howler monkey from Hell. The only ones who weren't laughing and rather stewing in hatred and jealousy were Monoma, especially for Setsuna's participation in blushing over the 1-A student, and Mineta, bawling his eyes out in blood, uncaring of the large, comical bruise on his head from the metal bat.
Meanwhile, Kirishima and Tetsutetsu rushed towards Deku and sank to the ground in a bow. "TEACH US YOUR WAYS, OH GOD OF MANLINESS!" They proclaimed, much to more embarrassed blushing and laughter.
After perhaps a minute of reigning in the girls, easing the laughter, and ordering a Really reluctant Momo to create a shirt for Deku, a black, sleeveless track shirt that was incredibly form-fitting, highlighting every curve and ripple in Deku's muscles, the group continued with the movie.
"Izuku. Izuku." Erskine rushed to the panting super-solider.
The people in the booth chattered excitedly as the hopped off their seats and rushed to the door.
Phillips smiled wide. "The son of a bitch did it." He said, shaking his head.
"Oh he did it, alright." Kyouka said, taking a picture of buffed up Izuku Rogers on her phone.
Clemson smirked before standing up from his seat, leaving behind a metal object behind.
Nezu's tail stood up straight and his frowned increased.
Erskine and Masaru helped Rogers out of the pod, steading him. "I did it." He panted.
"Yeah, yeah." Erskine said, smiling. "I think we did."
"You actually did it." Masaru gasped in disbelief as he steadied Izuku, his hand on Izuku's abs.
"I would pay my whole allowance to replace his hand with mine." Momo muttered, for once unashamed and unaware, or rather uncaring, of the blushing reaction from Izuku.
Setsuna rushed through the scientists and in front of Izuku, panting and breathing rapidly, staring not-so-subtly at Izuku's newly muscled chest.
"She looks so thirsty, she looks like she spent a whole week in the middle of the Sahara." Hagakure said.
"Can you blame her?" Mina said, still giggling and drooling at Izuku's physique.
"Not at all." Hagakure replied, her invisible eyes tracking the lining of his muscles.
"H-How do you feel?" Carter asked.
Izuku panted and breathed deeply. "Taller." He simply replied.
"AHAHAHAHAHA!" Sero roared in laughter. "That is all he could say! AHAHAHAHA!"
"Never change Midoriya, never change." Kaminari shook his head fondly.
"Magnifique!" Aoyama proclaimed.
Setsuna nodded, panting like a dog in heat, slightly touching his pec before recomposing herself and grabbing a shirt from the ogling nurse beside her. "You look taller." She admitted. "Much taller."
"Don't! Even! Say! Anything!" Setsuna yelled, furious blush on her, and pointed towards a grinning Ibarra and Kendo. "Just let me enjoy this!"
"You look great, Deku." Mirio complimented.
"T-Thanks, Mirio." Izuku thanked.
"One might say you look ABSolutely sPectacular!" Mirio punned.
He was rewarded for his terrible pun with a whack to the head, that caused the muscular blonde himself to wordlessly fall, face-first to the ground. Behind him was Nejire with the metal bat. "Don't ruin this moment with your puns, Mirio." Nejire said, eyes focused on the screen.
"How do you like Brooklyn now, Senator?" Phillips asked Brandt.
"I can think of some folks in Berlin who are about to get very nervous." The Senator replied. "Congratulation, Doctor."
Behind the crowd of cheering and chattering scientists, soldiers, and officials, Clemson looked around, ominous music playing.
"Bad guy spy!" Pony yelled and pointed.
"Thank you, sir." Erskine replied, shaking Brandt's hand. He looked over at Clemson before doing a double take. Clemson smirked, digging onto from his pocket a lighter.
Erskine frowned, his eyes widening.
Izuku's eyes suddenly widened in horror. "NO!" He yelled.
At Clemson's flick of his thumb, the booth exploded in flames, glass shards raining down on the ducking crowd below.
"What the hell?!" Kaminari yelled.
"That metal box." Mei said. "It was an explosive tied to a remote lighter!"
Erskine got up and looked as Clemson grabbed the last vial of the Super Soldier Serum. "Stop Him!" He yelled.
"He's got the serum!" Kinoko yelled.
Clemson pulled out a pistol and fired, the shots landing their mark on Erskine's chest.
"NO!" Izuku yelled once more in horror.
Clemson rushed up the steps firing on a military soldier in his way. Setsuna grabbed her own gun and fired on Clemson, a shot landing on his shoulder. The assassin grunted in pain before shrugging and running away. Clemson rushed down the hallway, shooting at military police in his way, while Agent Carter ran up the stairs following him.
"Nice shot, Shio!" Pony yelled. "Shoot that guy more!"
Izuku rushed to Erskine as he laid on the floor, eyes and mouth wide in horror, while Erskine panted and looked at Izuku. He silently raised his hand, pointing and lightly jabbing his finger on Izuku's chest, where his heart was. Izuku gasped, a slight sob escaping as he looked down at the man, his eyes closed and his last breath escaping.
Sniffles and sighs voiced through the silence.
All Might frowned in sad acceptance, knowing deep down that his identity as the First User's counterpart was red flag that marked his own death.
The girls looked towards Deku, eyes filled with sorrow and worry for the green-haired teen. Their eyes widened in complete shock and horror at what they saw.
Rogers raised his head, a furious frown on his face, eyes narrowed in a burning glare.
Green lightning sparked out of Deku like a rumbling storm cloud, Black Whip oozing out and spreading across his body, and, the group almost thought they saw him slightly floating an inch or so out of his chair. Izuku's eyes glared furiously at the screen, lightning sparking from his eyes.
AAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDD SCENE! Oh MY GOD! Longest chapter I have EVER wrote! Ever! But I finally finished it! And just a day after the new Falcon and Winter Soldier episode and the day of the new My Hero Academia episode. Perfect timing! Yet again Unintended! Actually I originally planned to go all the way to Steve catching the Hydra agent but it turned out so long already.
Reason for such a long chapter: So Many things to react about in detail such as the First User as Erskine, Deku's bullying being revealed, the grenade scene, the talk with Agent Setsuna Carter in the car, the Super Soldier scene! I legitimately feel Exhausted finishing this up and yet I'm still powering through to write this end note. I skimmed the Bakugou and Ibarra, sorry, and will focus on that and the 'date' in the next interlude chapter. Also, some of the lines of dialogue between the characters were inspired by ideas from fellow writers, like grilledmonkey, and the two Youtube channels, Cinemasins and his antithesis, the B3rdman. Also the whole Izuku Rogers is half-Japanese is an addition to explain his looks and bullying better.
SO let's get through the counterpart explanations quickly! Speedrun style! Firstly, Deku as Captain America. We All know this was happening. There was NO way this was Not happening. Both pure of heart, heroic, wishing to become a soldier/Hero so badly just because they want to help people, perfect, Civil War rivalry between them and Bakugou/Tony, Steve picks up Mjolnir in Endgame like Deku gains One For All from All Might, and quite the interesting turn for Deku wishing to become a Hero and Going to become the Greatest Hero in the World where in another life he is the World's First and Arguably Greatest Superhero, Marvel wise. And yes, I know that others like Mirio had a chance to be Cap and might even be him in another universe, but my response to that is Erskine's words to Steve when he asked why he was chosen.
Shigaraki as Red Skull I'm sure will confuse, surprise, and piss some people off, but let me explain. Both are leaders in their villainous groups, for Skull Hydra and the League of Villain and the Paranormal Liberation Front for Shigaraki, the latter being a secret cult much like Hydra in the present, Shigaraki is the first Supervillain fully introduced to us and the class so rather fitting to have him, like Midoriya, be the first Super Villain, and you can compare Red Skull's fiddling with his mask until he takes it off and reveals his true face as similar to Shigaraki's neck scratching until he stops upon his Awakening. Also spoiler reasons ahead for non-manga readers: Schmidt having the Super Soldier Serum like Steve is a dark parallel to Shigaraki obtaining All For One where Deku has One For All.
Erskine as First User of One For All was something you guys were begging me for and I delivered because it was an interesting twist. Erskine choosing Rogers for the Super Soldier Serum is like All Might choosing Deku for One For All, only All Might here is replaced by the First in this case, and SPOLIER ALERT: Erskine also giving up the incomplete Serum to Schmidt can be also compared to Shigaraki's obtainment of All For One in a twist of instead of it being All For One and his masterplan to do that it is instead a reluctant Erskine as All For One's little brother.
Shoto Todoroki as Bucky Barnes is also one that I'm sure people will get hissy about. My reasons are that Steve and Bucky's friendship is much like Izuku and Todoroki with Deku snapping Todoroki out of his self-made brainwashing/hatred to reject his left side similar to Steve saving Bucky from his Winter Soldier programming, pre-Winter Soldier Bucky is kind and caring and post-Winter Soldier he is cold and withdrawn, much like Shoto, and Bucky loses his LEFT arm and now has a metal arm, while Todoroki resented his LEFT, fiery side till Deku snapped him out of it.
And Setsuna as Peggy is also another one that people will hound me for, so let me get this out of the way: This was SO VERY CLOSE. I Literally did a coin flip to decide between Setsuna and Melissa and looked what happened. Ultimately, Setsuna was also perfect for the role, one a spy, the other's Quirk is perfect for espionage, the two's curly hair styles are similar, but that is a stretch, both confident and alluring and perfect for the witty banter of Peggy, both Setsuna and Carter aren't American like Melissa and are rather foreigners, and this decision ultimately makes sense to bring in Setsuna into the mix. And yes, Melissa as Peggy would have also worked and would have had the benefit of a Shield making SHIELD, but I will throw you guys and bone and reveal that Sharon Carter will be Melissa. Those two have more similar hair styles and good girl and naïve to cold badass in Falcon and the Winter Soldier anyways.
The rest of the explanations I will reveal in the next chapter's end notes, but first Mirio is Not Hodge, just want to make that clear. In the end, hope you guys loved the chapter, sent some love to Stan Lee in the clouds above with that quote of his, leave your thoughts and comments in the reviews, I'm sure they'll be spicy, check out my other stories if you like, and keep each other safe and healthy.
This has been Zayden StormVoid and I will see you all later True Believers! EXCELSIOR!
