Chap 4 I don't own anything

What happened last time-

Inuyasha turns and looks at the couple and says "No problem. Look I know you lot don't know me that much…but I want to help… there is something about her… I don't know.."

Miroku, Sango and Kaede all share a knowing look. "Do you want me to take the flowers and you can sit with us. I think you would like to hear a story about how we met Kagome" said Sango, Inuyasha smiles and gives the flowers over to her. He then sits next to Kaede.

Sango offers Inuyasha a mug with coffee which he accepts. Miroku sits back in his chair and starts off his story "Sango and I have been married for three going on four years now, but we had a very rough start. Her and my family did not approve of us getting married. Both families had different reasons for why…but we were and are so in love that we did not care. So, we eloped and once our families found out we were asked not to come back and with no money to our names we ended… we ended up on the streets"

Miroku looked down at this point, Sango came over to give her support by placing her hand on his shoulder. They both looked at each other "Those days where hard days" Miroku continues "But we had each other. I got odd jobs every now and again... but it was not enough to get somewhere to live… We had to live in a box in an alleyway. One night it was raining so bad and we were so cold. Sango was sleeping when I heard a voice coming from outside. At first I thought it was someone trying to get our box. They kept knocking and calling out to us. I got so angry that I rushed out ready to fight this person. But wouldn't you know it was a smallish women with an umbrella covering her. She then started asking me questions about who I was and who I was with"

"Was its Kagome?" Inuyasha interrupts.

"I'm getting to that my friend…anyway… I didn't care who she was or what she was doing here so I yelled at her told her to f090 off.. to which she just smiled and gave me her card with her information on it and told me if I wanted a hot meal and bed to come to this address… and then she walked away"

"Ok that's a little weird, I mean come on what was she thinking?" asked Inuyasha

"I'm not done, to end my story I had to think about what to do… I didn't know this person or what I was getting Sango and I into but I knew one thing we could not live like this anymore, so I had to risk it… I told Sango about what happened and at first she was angry that I was even thinking of going to this woman's house so we went together. When this woman opened the door and looked at both of us, she just smiled and said "Well looks like I'll be making more food" she then told us to come in. Later we found out who she was and she helped me get a job and the apartment that we live in now. We did trust her at first but without her I don't know where we would be right now"

"Did you find out why she did what she did?"

"I did ask her once and she said 'I just did what others should do and helped out where I could' Kagome would take a bullet for the ones that she loves"

Inuyasha leans back on the couch "Wow I don't think I have met anyone like her"

"Well thank you Mr. Takahashi, I am one in million" said Kagome from the hallway

Everyone in the living room turned to Kagome. Once they saw her no one knew what to say.

Kaede cleared her thoughts. After some time, she placed the photo album down and got up and walked towards Kagome "How are you holding up dear?" she asked as she placed her hands on Kagome's shoulders to take her to the couch. Kagome sat down next to Inuyasha "I…. I just don't know Kaede… I still feel him here… I…" Kagome starts to break down crying again.

Sango comes over and motions for Inuyasha to move. Once he does Sango sits down and takes Kagome into her arms to let her cry, while rubbing her arm back and forth on Kagome's back to comfort her.

"Is there anything we can do for child?" asked Kaede. Kagome just shakes her head no.

After a few moments Kagome's crying had quietened down to hiccups. She pushes herself back from Sango's embrace and looks at everyone and wipes her face. "I'm just so tired I think I'll be going back to bed…I'm sorry everyone"

"Hey, it's ok Kagome. We are all here for you Kagome for whatever you need ok" said Sango

"I would feel better if someone stayed here though" said Miroku

"I can stay" said Inuyasha.

"You don't have to do that; I'll be fine on my own"

"It's fine. I ain't got nothin else to do… and I want to… so please"

Everyone looked at Inuyasha in surprise. Inuyasha was becoming uncomfortable so he looked away and crossed his arms and said "Feh"

"Oh... ok Inuyasha. I'll get you a blanket and pillow" said Kagome as she got up and back up the hallway

Sango looked Inuyasha up and down still not trusting him. Once Kagome came around to the living room "It's not much but I hope its ok" she said giving him the items.

"It will be fine thanks"

"Well, we will be right down the hall if you need us for anything Kagome" said Sango looking at Inuyasha and then Kagome. Kagome followed Sango's eyes "I'll be fine"

"Ok just know we are here for you" said Sango

"I know and I thank you… I thank all of you so much"

"Anytime Kagome… night" said Sango as she gave Kagome a hug. Miroku, not letting a moment go by, got into the hug as well.

After the hugs and kisses and the goodbyes and goodnights, Kaede, Miroku and Sango left the house.

"Well, I'm going to bed. The bathroom is down the hallway second door on the left if you need it"

"Thanks Kagome." Kagome gave Inuyasha a small smile and went into Shippo's old room to sleep in the room.

Inuyasha looked around and made a semi comfy bed. Before falling asleep, he stayed up for a while looking at old photos of the family. On the last photo of Shippo and Kagome, Inuyasha stopped for a moment and said "Don't you worry kid. I'll watch over her"

Inuyasha turned off the lights. As he placed his head down to rest, he could hear Kagome crying in the other room, but Inuyasha could tell she was crying in her sleep. Not knowing what to do, Inuyasha got up and went down the hall and found Kagome by sound. He opened the door as quietly as he could and went into the room.

It was a very typical boys room, lots of toys, books and posters of his favorite game players and cartoon characters on the wall. He could see Kagome on a bed that was Shippo's. She was holding a bear. Inuyasha got closer to her and sat on the bed next to her and started to pat her back.

After some time, Kagome seemed to stop crying so Inuyasha got up to leave, but Kagome was holding onto Iunyasha's jacket "No don't go" Kagome said in her sleep. Inuyasha not wanting her to be in distress sat on the floor with his arm still on the bed. It was not a comfy night fir him but at least Kagome would sleep better… he hoped.
