Against his will, Harry is sorted to Slytherin, he is treated like a pariah but despite this refuses to go dark, he does something else entirely.

Harry Potter was a happy man, successful and rich. He was not a tall man but not short either, he had messy black hair and a neatly trimmed beard and small round glasses that highlighted his intense green eyes. He was clad in scrubs as after he saw his children off to magical school he had to go straight to work. He was a doctor and a healer and his services were very much in demand. By his side clad in a navy business suit straight out of Mary Poppins (it was the latest in fashion for women in the mage world) her dirty blond hair plied on her head was Luna Lovegood Potter.

Their twins were going to mage school, Charlus Xeno Potter and James Fleamont Potter. The other children, Lily Evans Potter and Ruth Lovegood Potter were at home and would not be ready for mage school for another two and four years respectively. The children were a mix of their parents, Harry's wild hair and green eyes with the Lovegood wispy build and sweet heart-shaped face. The boys were clad in navy trousers with matching sweaters, sky blue polo shirts and black shoes. They were ready to head off and Harry was both happy and sad to see his two baby boys heading off to school. At least they would have a far better time than he or Luna ever did.

"You have fun, make memories." Harry said to the twin boys.

"Yes, do not let the Nargles get you." Luna added, it was well known that Nargles were in fact real, most people could not see them but they were there and Luna could, "make sure to wear your charms always.."

"We will mom." Charlus said.

"Yea, we know what will happen if we do not." James added.

Luna smiled warmly. She was dressed in a manner she did not much like, she liked colorful clothes that would remind one of a carefree spirit. She dressed in the manner she did to be taken seriously as she knew looks were so very important. She was a lawyer and a very good one. In fact she had gotten the taste for law defending Harry against charges of harming an heir of an ancient wealthy family when all he did was protect himself with a shield charm, that was all. Another dear friend walked up at that time, Blaise Zabini came up, still as handsome as ever with his dark brown skin, his wife Marigold from the prominent Willis family from Maroon Town was with him with their young daughter Primrose.

"So this is it." Blaise said, "they do grow up so fast."

"That they do." Harry said, "I know they will do so well."

"That they will." Blaise replied, "I wonder what dear old Dumbledore is doing now?"

"Well not being headmaster of my children." Luna said.

"No, he lost any right or respect with how he treated me." Harry said, "I had to free my only teacher ally from there, though he was an utter prick the first three years I went, but after what Draco Malfoy did, well he made up for that."

Blaise nodded, and watched as the children got on the train and the train pulled away from Union station and headed east up to the mountains and to Yarrow from there. No no-mage saw them or the train and Harry was happy for that. Though here in the states no-mage and mage mixed as mage knew that no-mage would find them sooner or later and it was best to be part of the whole world even if hidden.

Harry thought back to that fateful night, the night of his sorting and how he begged the hat not to sort him to Slytherin. The hat had not listened and so the next two years were hell, his third was better as he learned how to cast protective magic around his things. It was too late for his beloved owl who had been murdered in his first year, her corpse left on his bed, he had cried while Theo and Draco laughed and then spread a rumor he had killed the owl. The oaf Hagrid refused to have anything to do with him and would not let him in his care of magical creatures class. What was worse was what Dumbledore did, he refused to let Harry take Arthmancy or Ancient Runes and made him take Divintation and Muggle Studies. The detentions Harry got for mouthing off in every class he had with the old fraud Trelawney were well worth it.

By the time forth year rolled around Harry hated Hogwarts, the magical world of Britain and Albus Dumbledore. He had saved the Weasley girl so the twins never pranked him after second year, but nearly everyone else wanted his blood. Things came to a head when in a corridor Theo and Draco cornered him and said some very nasty things that are not fit to print about him and his mother and what they would do to her if she were alive. They stated they had killed his owl and wished it had been him and then they cast the curses, Harry blocked them with his wand and they shot back at the casters, one melted half of Draco's face, the other took the wand arm of Theo. Of course Harry was arrested as he had cast a dark curse.

He had not thought of Luna coming to his defense, how for the first time she was clad in a reserved manner and how she had to defend him in front of the whole magical court. Amanda Bones was there and was appalled that no solicitor came to defend Harry but a child. She had Harry's wand reviewed and then the wands of the two boys. Harry was cleared but Theo and Draco were allowed back in Hogwarts because the headmaster believed in second chances. Harry refused to ever speak to him again and his head of house, who had been a prick to him started to side with him as did Blaise.

Voldemort had come back, but did not stay around long, by the end of Harry's fifth year he went through the veil taking many of his supporters and once more the blame was put on Harry. However a pensive memory and Vertaserum cleared him. Where was his godfather? After how he reacted to Harry being sorted Harry cursed the man and refused to let him near him. Lupin sided with Harry stating if Harry was dark for going to a house he wanted no part of then Sirius must hate dark creatures so Lupin would leave.

That was years ago and now Harry was in America, he had got his NEWTs shortly after his OWLs which emancipated him, took a year to get his A levels and headed to America with Luna, Blaise, Remus, Dora Tonks and a freed Severus Snape. Severus was living in Iowa working as a master potions gold level in the Pontiac potions plant there and was head of ten master potions silver and one hundred master potions bronze and was well respected here. Blaise had bought the Denver Jet Stream, a Quadpot team that was doing very well. Harry himself was chief of healing and surgery for Leadville Children's ward in Lakewood after getting his healing mastery and coming to the states and getting his doctorate in medicine from John Hopkins.

"I am off to work." Harry said to Luna.

"I will go see what is left of the house, those girls do have Dobby wrapped around their finger I am afraid." Luna replied.

Harry smiled at her and with a pop was off to work. He had a surgery for a young mage girl who had had cancer. Contrary to the belief of some people, magical or mage people could get every disease that non-mage could get. However they could survive far better as there were treatments that would kill a non-mage but would work for mages. Harry's job was to remove the mass from the girl's leg and the oncologist would provide the medicine that she needed. Harry just wished there was a way to get this treatment to work for non-mages as it frustrated him to no end to see so many die of cancer when there was a cure for mages. Later that evening he was home with his wife, their two remaining children at home in bed.

"Are you happy here truly?" Harry asked Luna.

"Yes, you are happy and so am I, England held nothing for me, Hogwarts was a nightmare and you rescued me from that."

"I could say the same, you rescued me as well." Harry replied, "that and the muggleborns."

"I hear that the minister of magic still asks for your head." Luna replied.

"Yes, but the MACUSA will not allow them to have an American citizen who brought so many promising people to help the magical world."

Harry was, now that he could look back on it glad that the sorting hat had done what it did. He thought then it was stupid and wrong and that "in Slytherin he would find his truest friends". Well he had found his truest friends while in that house and still was in contact with them now. He had helped steer the muggleborn out of England and many of the half-blood. He had his truest friends and never again would set foot in a nation that had turned it's back on him the minute he was sorted to Slytherin.
