The Slave
Voldemort through his own actions has been handed down a sentence that only he could deserve. He is not tortured or hurt but is suppose to learn a very valuable lesson.
Harry sighed deeply, the truth hurt, he was bound to Voldemort, neither could kill the other, the prophecy was not right, at all. So now it came to this and this was not what he wanted. Yet it was legal and the only form of slavery that was legal in the magical world (house elves were another matter, as most did not consider them people but something else). When one went as dark and low as Voldemort had done, well this was the result, and as he was bound to Harry and Harry to he, the sentence had been just. Harry now legally owned a dark lord and how wonderful was that? Voldemort was of the same opinion and glared at his new master with pure hatred, not that he could do a thing about it.
Voldemort was clad exactly how Harry wanted him clad, in full muggle clothing. Full muggle casual clothing and Voldemort hated him for it. He was clad in jeans, a saffron colored thermal shirt and a purple tee shirt. When the sentence of slavery was passed after Harry had somehow managed to knock the dark dork out at the battle of the ministry after having gone "nuclear" at his sister in all but blood Hermione get cut down after Sirius was killed and take out all the death eaters there. After all that Voldemort had woke a prisoner bound to a chair. Harry was there and stated that Azkaban was not the best place for Voldemort as he was far too dark to even feel the punishment. It was Severus Snape who helpfully brought up the ancient spell that would only work on someone as dark and evil as Voldemort.
"Happy now?" Voldemort snapped.
"Not really, but it is a perfect punishment for you." Harry said, "you can think what you want but as you can see, you can only do what I say."
"This will turn you dark." Voldemort taunted.
"No, because I am not going to torture you, well not physically at least." Harry said, "no you would enjoy that too much. Instead you will do exactly what I say when I say it, and you will call me master."
"Yes master." Voldemort found himself saying and that was horrible for him, "what is your bidding?"
"You know I could have had you bound ten thousand years to a lamp only let out to grant wishes, be glad that this is all that was done." Severus said walking in, "you always were going to betray me, I am the best at the mind arts shall we say."
"I don't believe that dark lords have to keep promises." Voldemort replied.
"Pity, you will now have all choice removed from you, Potter is your master now." Severus said, "perhaps you will learn something."
"Not that I really want that." Harry said.
This was true, Harry had thought that Voldemort was going to Azkaban or something like that when he was captured but this, well this was interesting to say the least. Harry was not exactly sure what to do with an evil dark lord as his slave. Wait, there was something, Voldemort hated him happy, and Harry wanted to be happy and so Voldemort was going to have deal with a happy Harry. Though first Harry had to spend a few weeks with his relations with his new servant. Sirius might be dead but his portrait was around (somehow he knew he was going to die) and had given Harry great advice, even scolding him for daring to believe that he was responsible for his death. His portrait was in Grimmauld place right were his mother's had been and the place was a much lighter freer place now. So it was that Harry was going to spend a few weeks with his relations and have way too much fun.
"So we not only have to have you but this freak as well?" Vernon said, "the one who killed your parents?"
"Well the magical ministry gave him to me, he can't hurt anyone ever again as he is bound to me." Harry replied, "he will stay in the cupboard."
"And will we have to feed him?" Petunia asked.
"I have food covered this summer." Dumbledore said form where he stood looking very muggle with his hair and beard spelled to look short in a simple navy three piece suit and tie. "For him at least, you will treat Harry well, I understand it was sudden to place him with you but I had thought you would be honored I choose you."
"You don't leave a child on a doorstep!" Vernon snapped.
"He was perfectly safe and warm, where else would I leave him?" Dumbledore asked, "it's not as if he was hurt and I thought I had explained things well."
"Not in person." Petunia snapped, "this is not Victorian England anymore!"
"I am sorry, however you will take better care of Harry, I am off." Dumbledore said.
Dudley was the one that was curious as to how someone could be enslaved. Harry explained that only those who had done evil awful things like Voldemort could be enslaved. Merlin had done something to make it so that slavery spells, potions charms and so on could not enslave anyone. There was a spell to take one's free will but that carried a life sentence though Harry felt it should carry more than that. As killing Voldemort would not be practical or so the ministry said slavery was far better to teach a valuable lesson to other dark lord or ladies in the making. Voldemort was required to serve them and stand quietly in the corner and wait his turn to eat.
"So why is he dressed that way?" Dudley asked.
"He hates it." Harry said, "he would rather be in black."
"He killed my aunt and uncle." Dudley said.
"Yes but he likes pain." Harry replied.
"We could dress him in pink." Dudley said, frilly dresses.
"No!" Both boys said as one.
"Blimy what was I thinking." Dudley said.
"If he has to stay here, will the neighbors see him?" Petunia asked.
"No, as if anyone wanted to see something this ugly, why he did this to himself I will never know." Harry replied.
The next few weeks went by fast. Harry got his summer homework done, got his OWLS back and saw he could take potions as he got an O and Voldemort was a good servant. Not that he had a choice in the matter. Because of his wicked ways the punishment fit perfectly. Dudley was very helpful in finding the best muggle styles for Voldemort who ground his teeth but wore what he was forced to wear. Mostly jeans, trainers, bright tee shirts with long sleeved undershirts (his arms were very scaly and not at all nice to look at) and hats of all kinds. Voldemort hated it all and hated looking like a "filthy muggle". Petunia was getting more and more scared of Harry as she knew this was part of her punishment too and he had power she never realized he had. Vernon's respect of Harry had gone up and he was treating him far better than he ever had and he felt ashamed at how he had treated Harry all those years. He may have never beat him but he was still a horrible man for how he had treated an innocent little boy.
While Harry had a good summer, Voldemort did not. He found out exactly how he had ended up as a slave with no power to disobey in any way. There was a reason why Horcruxes were not used as Merlin had made it so that any who created one could be enslaved as a Horcrux was vile and evil. This was why Grindlewald was locked up and not enslaved and Voldemort belonged to Harry. Harry was not cruel to him and though he slept on the floor in the cupboard under the stairs, he was fed well enough. He hated the clothes he was forced to wear as they were beneath him as a dark lord. He was required to wait on the family and, after Harry showed him how to cook which was easier though much duller than making potions, he had to cook all meals for everyone. Petunia hated him but when Harry explained this was the worst punishment for him she had allowed Harry to do what he wanted and even had Voldemort sit and watch videos of Harry and Dudley enjoying an amusement park.
Finally it was time for school again and Voldemort had to ride with Harry. He had to keep quiet and listen to those around him having fun, to see Harry enjoy chocolate frogs and other sweets. To watch him laugh and play exploding snap with all his friends who had been at the ministry. He had to wait on them when asked and while he was serving tea Draco Malfoy and his minions came to visit. His eyes flashed in anger at the dark lord then he took in the scene. Voldemort in a lower servants uniform of blue with blue cap with an apron serving tea to all in the compartment. Draco was impressed and lounged against the door frame.
"You really had it done, I thought mother was exaggerating but you really did it." Draco said, "he is yours now I see."
"Of course, he has his thoughts but he has to do exactly what I say when I say it." Harry said, "oh and he loves pain so no torture and this is getting the message across, he hates me."
"I can see that." Draco said seeing the rage in Voldemort's eyes, "so Horcruxes?"
"Yes, father had a book on that, he was not aware that the dark lord here had been so, well dense to make one."
"He was, and now he will pay, he makes a great servant." Luna said, "more cream in my tea please."
"Yes mistress Luna." Voldemort replied.
"So he has to see us happy and doing well and he hates it so very much." Neville said, "can't make up for my parents but this works."
"I am sorry for all I said." Draco said, "Pax at least?"
"Yes, very well, and thank you for giving me Bellatrix's vault, the goblins removed a lot of dark stuff." Neville replied.
"Least I could do." Draco replied.
"I am sorry for the loss of your father." Harry said.
"Well I miss him but he did make his own choices, rather bad form of him if I say so myself." Draco said, "anyway, now I don't have to follow him and would rather be my own man."
"And make lots of money." Ron said.
"Of course, as will you, if you join your brothers, their shop is rather brilliant." Draco said, "raises my opinion of your family, a curse breaker, dragon handler, two businessmen and you and your sister."
"Yes me." Ginny said, "I have a good business head too, I have invested my money from what I earned already into two muggle companies, Amazon and Pixar along with a small magical company called the Quibbler."
"That is a magazine." Draco said.
"It is going to be that and more." Luna said, "daddy hired several people to sell rare books and the like."
Voldemort hated everything about this, torture he could handle, but being reduced to a slave serving tea? How he rue the day he had been captured and yet, he was not treated badly, not starved or even yelled at. Harry made him work but had few words for him but orders for him to do his work. This was far worse, he had to see people that should be very dead or at least being tortured to death alive, happy and well. What was worse was when Harry was in classes he was ordered to use his potions knowledge to make healing potions! When he had made enough to last at least a few months Severus taught him how to make lemon drops. Not only did Voldemort have to make lemon drops he had to deliver them to that old coot Dumbledore!
"Good morning, place them on my desk." Dumbledore said and Voldemort had to obey. "Have a seat in a chair."
"Yes Headmaster." Voldemort said.
"Years ago I came to an orphanage and found a boy strong in magic." Dumbledore said, "that and a mean streak, you remember that?"
"I do, you set my wardrobe on fire." Voldemort replied.
"I had thought having you brought to Hogwarts would help. I even tried to have you stay here, Dippet would not allow it. Perhaps he saw what I failed to at that time. No matter, your days of hurting others are over, you are free to speak."
"Why keep me alive?" Voldemort said, "why not kill me? Know how I hate this. My master refuses to beat me, or let anyone else. No it is fetch this, do this, help this one out and that one out. Serve others, I am Voldemort and…"
"A selfish wicked man." Dumbledore said, "I do hope you learn the lesson you need to learn."
Yet Voldemort was too far gone to do that, he would serve but always in anger and hatred. Yet because of his own choices he could not ever harm another. Harry would get tired of him and send him to Neville or Luna at times and they were not cruel to him either. His sentence was just and exactly what he deserved. His loyal death eaters were all dead and their families were seeing the light in how death awaited any loyal death eater. How Harry treated Voldemort helped the magical world turn from hate to light. Though Voldemort did not see things that way.
Sadly, as the decades went by Voldemort never did change his ways of thinking. He celebrated in his mind at the misery that everyone felt at the death of Dumbledore and hated how happy Harry was when he got married and his children were born. He was never treated badly, well unless you called making him wear muggle fashion was treating him badly. He would never learn, not in this life or the next and would go join those who thought like him and would never again be able to harm anyone ever again.

So this was an idea that popped up, what would a fitting punishment aside from death be for Voldemort? Torture would not be effective, he would not learn the things he needed, as he is not fully human this idea that Horcruxes could lead to being bound against ones will fully (as they are a thing against nature and magic), here he is bound to do as he is told. Harry is not cruel, and hence the reason he treats him the way he does.
