Hi! I don't usually do this, dedicate a chapter, or whatever this may be, to explain anything about the story. And I don't do it not because I don't want to or because I'm lazy, I just like to let the story explain itself. However, I did notice a bit of... confusion, perhaps? I guess so, I noticed a little confusion in the last chapter, so before I wait a week in silence, I want to clarify a couple of things.
First I have to apologize, as the change of scene/time may have seemed a little abrupt, and that' s because originally this would have been the beginning of the third arc. But I changed it since the third one (which already has two chapters written, by the way) is planned to be one of the longest in the fic. That's why I had to cut this part and leave it in the second arc; I hope that the jump in time doesn't feel too forced.
Second, this story is heavily influenced by Obereru (Wrath If) and Ayamatsu (Pride If); especially the latter, since, as the description states, this would be the Humility If. And I am basing this story exactly on what happened in them due to the absence of Subaru, especially in the Emilia/Roswaal faction. For those of you who haven't read them, I don't want to spoil, so I won't go into detail, but those of you who have read them will know what I mean. As Lord of the black wind pointed out in the comments, Roswaal had nothing to do with Meili's attack on the village, and since he was depressed, he did nothing to stop it from happening; the consequences of that will be made clear later in the story, but once again, those who have read Ayamatsu will have a very good idea of what happened.
Finally, regarding the White Whale. As you may remember, in order for Crusch to be able to face the whale one month after Subaru's arrival in the world of Re Zero (yeah, sorry!), she needed Subaru to tell her the exact place and time. In Ayamatsu it's never said when they encounter the whale, but it's more than obvious that it was later than in the original story. So I took creative liberties and decided on the time. Unlike Ayamatsu, this time Crusch has Anastasia's support, so things may happen differently... You'll soon find out.
There, that's all I wanted to say. Just to thank you once again for your support, whether it's Follow, Favorite or Review. Ah! One more thing! Last week I didn't update because I dedicated myself to finish the second arc, since it usually takes me a bit of a time to translate a chapter (about 6 hours divided into three on Mondays and 3 on Tuesdays)... And it turns out that I got carried away and ended up doing the battle with the whale longer than I planned⦠hehehe⦠Anyway, thanks for everything! Until next week.
