A Marriage Law gone wrong, and two years after it was put in place, it is repealed and Hermione finds herself cast out of the Malfoy family with out her son and "compensated" for her time. Or the one where Ron redeems himself in a wonderful way.
Hermione refused to look at her jailers of the last two years as she signed the documents to end the so called "marriage". As it had been forced she was entitled to far more than the Malfoys had offered, and she had taken it all. The million galleons were not enough the courts agreed and so now she walked away from her slavery with ten million galleons and a restraining order against the Malfoys. Her son, no he never was, Draco made sure to let her know of that .
Hermione walked to her family, her true family and was hugged by Molly and taken home. She had been set to marry Ron but then Draco had stepped in and done what he did. Ron could not want her, not really, not now not after what was done. Yet he did, his first act was to serve her dinner, a dinner he had made, that his mother let him make. It was just the two of them, and Ron served her and said nothing but let her eat. When she broke down he sat by her waiting for her to make the first move and she did. Sobbing in his arms he held her gently and let her cry, soothing her by rubbing circles on her back.
"It's alright, I am here if you want me." Ron said, "I am here.
"He, he I hate him!" Hermione said, "you can't want me."
"I do, I love you, I learned to cook, and I can clean house and run a house well, I will give you whatever you want." Ron said.
"You mean that?" Hermione replied.
"I do." Ron replied.
"I am taking the money and using it for a children's home." Hermione said, "and I will be going back to school, to be a dentist."
"I think that is a great idea." Ron replied. "I don't mind staying at home, taking care of the children."
"I can't have anymore children." Hermione said.
"We can adopt, would be a great thing anyway." Ron said, "please I meant what I said those years ago, I want to marry you if you will have a git like me."
Hermione agreed, and Ron was sweet and kind, he never did anything to hurt Hermione and he had learned to keep his temper. Hermione would shout at him at times and rant and yell but he would never yell back, a hard thing for him. He took great care of the house and was a great cook and loved what he did. One day Harry came by from work to the large four bedroom, four and a half bath house with attached two story library with a request. On a raid of the Nott family they found a scared toddler girl who needed a home. Her name was Delphini and she was supposedly the daughter of Voldemort and Bellatrix.
"We will take her." Hermione said.
"Yes, I don't care who her parents were, besides, we can do a blood adoption." Ron said "she will not look like us but be part of us."
"Good, I was hoping you would say that." Harry said, "poor dear can't help who her parents were and I could stick it to Tom by having his daughter raised with love and family."
So it was Delphini, or renamed Violet Granger came to live with the new magical house of Granger. Here she had a bright room instead of a cramped closet, a nice bed, clothes that were nice and in colors she liked, blues, greens, yellows and oranges. She was spoiled but taught to be a lady and to be kind, caring and loving. Ron doted on her and in a few years two more were added to the family, twins, a boy and girl named Hugo and Rose, they had dark brown skin and black hair and were very pretty. The family felt nearly complete, but then a stray female dog came to the house, had pups and stayed. Soon ten dogs could be found around the house and even Crookshanks did not mind too much though he taught the pups who was boss.
The years flew boy and Hermione enjoyed being a dentist, the magical world realized one did not need to vanish a tooth to fix it and soon there were fewer toothless witches and wizards and many even sported dentures when teeth could not be fixed. Hermione was doing well and the magical orphanage run by Dean Thomas was thriving. Ron had changed, he had made himself change and he loved his life so much he wrote first one book then a series titled "The Adventures of a House-Husband". This lead to men who loved to stay home and take care of the children realize it was a wonderful thing and to be proud of their hard work.
Finally it was time for Violet to head to Hogwarts, she was a pale girl with purple hair and a twinkle in her eyes and pockets full of pranks. Her uncle George had not supplied her with those, no not him, he was a reasonable adult after all. Violet was going to be in the same class as Teddy Tonks. She was planning on going to Slytherin, under Sinstra it had turned into a very nice house and with other changes, such as round tables where students could sit with up to six of their peers at a time and not by house (accept at feast time) were put in place. She sat with Teddy and enjoyed the ride to the school.
"So even though we will be in different houses, we need to plan some pranks." Violet said.
"You and your pranks." Dom, a very pretty girl with long blond hair (she was the daughter of Bill and Fleur), "I don't know why I put up with you two."
"You love us and like pranks." Teddy said.
"As if." Dom said then smiled.
"McGonagall might retire if we are too much." Violet said smirking.
Back home Hermione was missing her daughter, but she had Ron and Hugo and Rose. Her parents came over as they did as Hermione had expanded their practice and made the Granger Dentistry a very well known name. In fact due to how successful she was, muggleborn had far more rights than they ever had. The Malfoy family and their ilk had tried to shut her down, but their day was over and they were hated by all. In fact they had been blocked in even going to Hogwarts, they had been the ones to pass the hated marriage law only to lose that battle soon after. Now the tied had fully turned against them. Ron brought in the tea, everything he had made himself. The Grangers loved him dearly as he was so very good to their daughter.
"So Violet is off to Hogwarts, I do hope it is still standing." Harvey said smirking.
"The headmistress might retire if she is as bad as Fred and George were." Hermione said.
"Someone call my name?" Fred dead as dead could be but still around to comfort his brother said popping in, "George was too busy working to er help her out."
"You mean corrupt." Helen said, used to seeing ghosts by now (most ghosts could hide from muggles) "that poor girl having uncles like you."
"She sent us a toilet seat, I told professor McGonagall." Ron said smiling, "she got detention, her head of house is teaching her discretion."
"Good, good, well she is a smart child, she can speak to snakes right?" Helen asked.
"Oh yes, and she has decided to become a healer, with her skills she will be a great one." Hermione replied.
"She has you as a wonderful mother." Ron said, "and I love you dearly."
Many would call Ron owned by his wife, and he did not care. He was doing something his brothers never would, he was running the house himself and being the one to stay home with his children. What was interesting was how happy he was, seeing Hermione happy made him happy. The marriage law had been a disaster at first, but in the end it helped Ron be the husband and partner his dear Hermione needed. He was glad everything had turned out well, that despite the horrible things that had happened, he could truly state he was living happily ever after. Hermione agreed with him and smiled as he sat with her, her knight in a white apron.
