Hermione gets sorted to Slytherin, Hermione is treated like garbage, Hermione gets revenge in a totally non-violent and epic way.

Liverpool 2007 Granger Dentistry:

Hermione Granger considered the seven years in Hogwarts, as hard and awful as they had been as the years that gave her true friends. At first her first two years were hell, but then she reached out to other muggleborn, half blood and muggle raised and a plan was put in place. Many wanted to stay in Great Britain but not the magical world. So an underground study group was formed and by the time Hermione graduated she had her NEWTs and A-levels and true friends in the muggleborn and half blood who joined her. In fact there were now no muggleborn who stayed in the "magical world" and very few half blood.

Hermione did not care, she was happy, she had a dentist practice that her parents helped her set up in Liverpool after she became a dentist and she was married to a wonderful man named Dean Thomas who had joined the ministry like his father had. They had a good sized but not huge home with four bathrooms and two and a half baths, library along with open concept main floor. They had two children, Rose and Hugo and they were happy as could be. Their children were well liked and they were pillars of their community. The children had taken the last name of Granger-Thomas and both parents made sure to spilt the child-rearing duties equally. They were very happy and had made a great life for themselves despite how Hermione had been treated in Hogwarts.

She was forced to be a servant of those her "betters" until in her third year the majority of the girls ended up violently ill and the evidence was found not in Hermione's trunk but in Daphine Greengrass trunk. She had lost so many points and ended up nearly expelled for "trying to frame a muggleborn girl", her head of house had to know the truth but he seemed ready after that to help Hermione. Snape had risked his life to help her and though he never treated Harry right, he did treat her right. Soon after the battle of Hogwarts and Harry Potter's victory, Severus Snape had faked his death and slipped off to America to live free.

One would have thought muggleborn would feel safe to go back to the magical world after the defeat of Voldemort. They had not and so the exodus of magicals continued and what was more the non-magical government put sanctions on the magical for trying to constantly break the statute of secrecy and it was those not living in the magical world that now had the ear of government. There was simply no way for the magical world to force any muggleborn or raised or any magical from leaving the magical world. Harry Potter had finally given up trying to live there and publically with full support of his very pureblood wife Susan Bones left the magical world and joined Hermione in Liverpool working as an accountant for her dental practice.

"The children are off to school." Dean said, "they were just born!"

"I know, hard to believe they are five now." Hermione said," reception year, I do hope they do not give the teachers a hard time."

"Doubt it, the sisters know how to work with the students." Dean said, "though only half the teachers are sisters."

"At least we will not have to send them to Hogwarts." Hermione said, "you were not a muggleborn in a vile and evil house, I was. I did get my revenge though."

"I think Remus Lupin can tutor them when the time is right." Dean said, "best that way, with how backwards and unadvanced that world is."

"I don't think unadvanced is a word." Hermione said, "but it fits."

"Oh and that law that minister Umbridge wanted passed can't, she got a letter from the prime minister." Dean said, "seems she does not have the power she thinks."

"The traditionalist love her, even when she takes their rights and income away." Hermione said, "really messed up if you ask me."

The magical world had undergone a change, and not a good one. Purebloods claimed to love the work Umbridge was doing, the forcing out of all who did not agree with Umbridge, and it was destroying the magical world. In a last ditch effort to salvage anything, Hogsmeade vale was given home rule and Hogwarts control was wrested from the ministry. This meant that a new government was formed of sorts and muggleborn and muggle raised were going to run the Hogsmeade vale. Hermione did not care to do that and was not going to have her children involved until there were real, lasting changes.

She thought back to the systematic bigotry she had faced, how Slytherin house was not cunning enough to accept a muggleborn like her. How she had helped lead to a better world for magicals while the purebloods lived their isolated, backwards life. Some did not, those called "blood traitors" did very well in the new world. The Weasley family was doing well and had lots of property. So too was the Bones, the Abbots and the Greengrass family, yes Daphine had been horrible to her but once Hermione showed she had power, that was all it took. Daphine was on her side as she valued power above blood. Funny how one (and really only one) Slytherin was, well not a friend but ally and willing to help due to her power not blood. She did not even grudge her in framing her and thought that grand Hermione could pull one over on her like that.

"Harry is here." Dean said walking in the room with Harry Potter.

"Well, well the boy who lived came to see me." Hermione said with a teasing smile, "how goes everything?"

"Well, the investments are doing well and this new company called Space-X, well new as in only five years old want to work with us. So far there is not much magicals can do but in ten years or so, probably more like twenty there will be." Harry replied, "still can help out there in the investment part."

"Good, are you sending James to Hogwarts?" Hermione asked.

"No, no I am not, none of my kids will go, shocker but it was a mutual idea between Susan and I."

"Good, glad to hear it, your children will grow up shall I say it as normal as possible as magical children can." Hermione replied.

Hermione head off to work, glad that things had worked out for her. If Slytherin had accepted her she would not be where she was today. Happy, married to someone she loved and strong, very, very strong. Magicals had won too in the fact that they were connected to the human race far better than they had been in centuries. Who knew that all those years ago the bullying she faced would lead to this?
