"And done!" Lorelai declared, checking off the final item on her list and closing her notebook. "Our wedding is officially planned." She slid the notebook toward the center of the kitchen table and leaned back in her chair.

Luke put the last of the leftovers from dinner in the refrigerator and crossed the kitchen to sit next to Lorelai. "Really? Everything's done?" He grabbed the notebook and flipped it open to look at the list.

"I have spent the last two days confirming everything we planned. Everything's done."

"Dresses?"

"Done. Both mine and Rory's." The corners of her mouth tipped up in a small smile as she thought about her dress. It was similar to the dress her mother had chosen for the coming out party that never happened, but with long, lace sleeves and fewer frills. Lorelai loved her dress and was sure her mother would approve. Emily's approval wasn't necessary, but might mean fewer complaints, something Lorelai approved of. She was so lost in thought that she missed what Luke said next. "Sorry. What did you say?"

"I asked about the suits."

"Done. Yours, Jess', and your dad's."

"The rings?"

"Your dad picked them up yesterday while he was in Hartford."

"Officiant?"

"I called the Reverend yesterday to confirm."

"Marriage license?"

"Finally came in the mail this afternoon. Saving me a phone call and a lot of red tape."

"RSVPs?"

"Finished counting them this morning."

"Your parents?"

"Coming. And I called my dad," she added with a grin. "He said he'll be happy to walk me down the aisle."

"That's great, Lorelai." Luke smiled at her obvious happiness and leaned over to kiss her cheek. After giving her a moment to bask in her happiness, he turned back to the list. "Do we have enough seating for everyone?"

"Miss Patty said it won't be a problem. She said she will arrange for 'some fine, young men' to handle set up and tear down."

"Of course, she did. What about the cake?"

"I talked to Fran this afternoon. She guarantees it will be perfect and waiting at Miss Patty's for the reception."

"Is Mia still having the inn's chef prepare the food for the reception?"

"Yes."

"And the flowers? Were you able to get the delivery issue resolved the way you wanted?"

"I was. After spending almost two hours on the phone with me, the florist agreed to deliver everything around lunchtime on the day of the wedding, instead of the day before. Miss Patty will accept the delivery."

"So, I don't need to pick anything up at the florist that morning?"

"No, it should be taken care of."

"And there's nothing else we need to plan, decide, or arrange for the wedding?"

"Not a thing."

"We have two weeks until the wedding and nothing left to do?"

"We need to hope that nothing falls apart and you need to plan your bachelor party."

"What about your bachelorette party?"

"What bachelorette party? Mia, Maisy, and me? That's not much of a party. I guess we could invite Miss Patty. It'd definitely be a party, but do you really think that's a good idea?"

"Probably not," Luke conceded. "Let's just do a family dinner instead."

"My not having a bachelorette party, doesn't mean you can't have a bachelor party."

"I'd rather not have one. Getting drunk and hiring strippers is not really my thing."

Lorelai laughed. "I'm glad to hear that."

"I thought you might be."

"So, family dinner? We could invite Mia, Buddy, and Maisy."

"And your parents."

"Let's not push our luck. It's amazing they're even coming to the wedding."

"Okay," Luke conceded reluctantly. "Just the seven of us for dinner the day before the wedding."

"After our last meeting with the Reverend."

"Of course."

"Good." Lorelai was practically dancing in her seat. "I'm so excited."

Deep in thought, Lorelai lightly traced invisible patterns across Luke's bare chest with her fingertips. "Hey, Luke?"

Luke was nearly asleep and struggled to form a coherent response. After a moment, he managed to mutter, "Yeah?"

"I've been thinking."

"Uh oh, that can't be good." He chuckled when Lorelai lightly swatted his chest. "I'm sorry. What are you thinking about?"

Lorelai propped her chin on Luke's chest, so she could see his reaction. "Do you think your dad is going to want us to move out after we get married?"

Luke struggled to keep his face expressionless. "Why would he want us to move out?"

"We'll be married and have our own family, so he might expect us to get our own place."

"We're already a family. The only thing that's changing is that we're making everything legal. He's not going to want us to leave."

"Are you sure?" Lorelai asked, chewing her bottom lip.

"I'm sure. He'd miss us. Especially Jess and Rory."

"He does adore them."

"We wouldn't want him to be lonely," Luke reasoned.

"No, we wouldn't, but are we staying because it's what's easiest for us or what's best for William?"

"It's what's best for all of us," he assured her. "Besides, I already talked to my dad."

Lorelai swatted his chest again. "Why didn't you just say that?"

"This was more fun," Luke told her with a shrug.

"Jerk," she gasped in indignation. "You let me worry for nothing."

"I love you," he said sweetly.

"Love you too," she admitted in exasperation. Lorelai laid her head on Luke's chest and was soon asleep.

"Good morning," Lorelai said cheerfully as she strolled into the kitchen. She went immediately to Luke and took the mug of coffee that he was holding out to her. "Thank you."

William chuckled. "You're certainly chipper this morning."

Snatching a small piece of bacon off Rory's plate, Lorelai walked toward her usual chair at the kitchen table, pausing to kiss William's cheek before sitting down next to him. "I'm in a good mood."

"Any particular reason why?"

"I finished confirming all the plans for the wedding yesterday and I'm just really happy that everything is falling into place."

"Everything? Does that include the adoption?"

"It does," Luke confirmed. He put a second helping of eggs on Jess' plate, gave Rory another piece of bacon, and joined Lorelai and William at the table. "The lawyer has started the process for both adoptions. He says that even though both adoptions will be considered familial adoptions, it will still take at least six months. We're hoping it will all be finalized sometime in April."

"That's good. You're using the same lawyer that Lorelai used for that stuff with Christopher and her parents, right?"

"Yeah. We thought it would be a good idea, since he's already familiar with Rory's situation."

"You shouldn't call your future daughter a situation!" Lorelai protested.

"I didn't call her a situation. I said she had a situation."

"Either way, it sounds like a good idea to use the same lawyer," William said, effectively ending the disagreement before it could really start.

"Like I said, everything is falling into place."

"Now, we just have to hope it doesn't all fall out of place," Luke added.

Lorelai raised an eyebrow. "Thank you, sunshine."

"I'm just saying that it's a long process and we're still at the beginning."

William smiled as he listened to the exchange. "It'll all be fine, kids. It will all be fine."
