She's gone from Hogwarts before Ginny has a chance to shine.
It's not that Ginny's accomplishments leading up to and during the war weigh nothing—they do, and they probably help influence the outcome, even—but Ginny doesn't see a future for herself in the Auror Office or elsewhere in the Ministry. She wants to fly.
That's why she reaches out to Alicia after the war. Alicia's the one person still healthily interested in Quidditch (sorry, Oliver), and one advice session turns into two turns into a date turns into—
Oh. Quidditch has everything to offer Ginny and then some.
