Mediziner's Notes: I'm sort of running out of things to say, but one thing I'll point out is that in Japan, introductions are surname/last name and then first. Being that others can only say their actual names between family members, close friends, or romantic partners so don't be thrown off by the backwardsness of it all! I also use different sayings rather than use Transformer terms to separate them between one another. While yes, Transformers and Brave Police are relatively the same in design, they're not from the same franchise which explains why I use some wording and sayings different from what you'd normally see in Transformer fics written by others.

Yuuta pondered on how to explain their foreign guest to both Saejima and Azuma. Knowing Saejima's strange yet more easy-going personality, he had no doubt that he'd be welcoming and accepting of Radiant Prism, but Azuma? He couldn't help but frown as the first thing that flew into his mind was the strict man demanding her to go back to Germany. 'He'll worsen her fear of humans for sure... I wouldn't want her to run away because of him...' He thought with a sigh. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door open as both Saejima and Azuma had come to come see him. Getting up from his seat, he greeted them, but was interrupted mid-way when Vice-Commissioner Azuma spoke up first, clearly unhappy.
"Mind explaining why did you and the others allow a dangerous criminal to escape?" He demanded.
Yuuta flinched, though was puzzled. "A dangerous criminal escaped?" After thinking things out, he then recalled that the Brave Police didn't cuff up two but one criminal. How could he have not noticed this before? "I thought he was with the other one we arrested."
"The robots only brought in one criminal, not two." Came the harsh reply.
Yuuta glared at the Vice-Commissioner. He never liked how the man saw Deckerd and the rest of the Brave Police as nothing more than walking machines, there were times whenever he managed to rub others the wrong way, he wished that Azuma could just accept the fact that the Brave Police are just as sentient as a human being. "We'll get them next time. Even if it's just one criminal, we should be happy about that not only did we arrest one of them, but we also did recover the stolen advanced technology." He replied.
Azuma was about to say more, but a gesture from Saejima made him cease his words.
"While it's disappointing that the other criminal escaped, Yuuta is right. We should be glad that we arrested one of them, but recovering the technology was also a high priority. I may not know how advanced the technology in it is compared to the technology the public has today but knowing it's recovered is more than enough." He said. "We'll interrogate our criminal later and see if we can get them to reveal any info on the person they were working with. In the meantime however..." He paused for a brief moment when he heard the Brave Police members enter the room. "On another topic I'd like to discuss. Yuuta, would you and Deckerd like to explain what's a member of the German Brave Police doing here?"
"You mean Radiant Prism? Drill Boy found her up in the skies during patrol yesterday." Yuuta explained. "When she landed somewhere in the city, he followed-"
"Wait, did I hear you clearly say 'she'?" Azuma interrupted, surprised.
"Yeah." Yuuta nodded. "Why?"
Both high-ranking officers looked at one another for a moment, they were aware that it was easily possible for any engineer to alter the Super A.I.'s personality to make them unique from one another, but to alter the gender programming? Knowing fully that all Super A.I.s were originally copied from Deckerd's Super A.I. and by default would come with male programming, it was a surprise to them that someone was talented enough to alter that portion of the Super A.I. into female programming. Saejima began to imagine how would Radiant Prism would look, though Yuuta knew how the Commissioner was when it came to his strange imaginations, but didn't say anything about it. "Toudou last said she's in the shooting range... If she's still there." He told him, changing the subject in hopes to distract him from his weird imaginations. With the topic changed, Yuuta was relieved.
"We'll go see her then. I'd like to know what is she doing so far away from her country." He told him.
The others heard this and immediately Deckerd stood. "Sir, there's something you should know about Radiant Prism." When Saejima turned his attention to the Brave Detective, he continued. "For reasons still unknown to us, Radiant Prism doesn't seem to like when humans get too close. We discovered this when I was holding Yuuta the first time she saw him and backed away. If we may recommend, don't get too close to her feet at least."
"Have you asked her why?"
Deckerd shook his head. "No, we haven't asked because of the language barrier at the time. Recently, Toudou has told us that when he and his mechanics repaired her, they additionally updated her language program so that she can understand and communicate with us."
"Only Boss has been able to get close to her than anyone else, but is still clearly hesitant when we were trying to get her to stand in the docking cradle so the mechanics could repair the damage in her legs." Duke pointed out. "We'll know more once we speak with her."
"What a ridiculous excuse." Azuma spoke up next, clearly unimpressed with what he's heard. "A Brave Police unit that's afraid of humans is nothing more than a heavily flawed machine unfit for any form of police work. Commissioner, whatever reason it is for her to come all the way from Germany to Japan I insist we reformat her to fix this issue."
"You can't!" Yuuta exclaimed. "There has to be a reason why she came all the way here, and I wouldn't want her to get reformatted!"
"Yeah, all of us might have questions, too!" Drill Boy said, standing up from his seat. "If you do that to her, we'll never know the reason why she came all the way here."
"We could also worsen her unexplained fear towards people." Dumpson added.
As the conversation carried on, no one seemed to notice that Shadowmaru had quietly left the room. Just about everyone had been stating their opinions against reformatting Radiant Prism and pointing out important reasons, yet Azuma still insisted that reformatting her memories would resolve her fear of people which only made the others angry. The argument continued until when everyone grew silent when Saejima grabbed everyone's attention, declaring his decision that because Radiant Prism came from another country, they technically don't have any rights to reformat her because she's not an official part of their team. "...However, I strongly agree that we need to know why she flew all the way here to Japan."
Azuma was about to say something but the sound of the doors opening pulled everyone's attention to Shadowmaru who had just came back into the office with Radiant Prism.
"So this is Radiant Prism." Saejima said as he got a good look at her from helm to toe. "Hmm..." There was seemingly a long pause until when he spoke up again. "Her appearance was not as I had imagined."
The whole room had gone silent and everyone simply stared at the man, even Radiant Prism was stunned at what she was hearing.
"Saejima!" Yuuta exclaimed in annoyance.
Recovering from her stun, Radiant Prism looked to the man with nothing but disappointment, flaring her unique wings but keeping her distance from Saejima, Azuma, and Yuuta. "What the hell was that all about!?" She exclaimed angrily, having instinctively spoken German. Everyone else was left stunned when they heard her angrily snap in her language. The German Brave straightened her posture as she crossed her arms over her chest, wings slightly more relaxed. "I really hope you don't say that to every other female Brave Police officer... Saying such a thing is completely wrong of you." She further added with a glare.
"Good job, you've made her really angry." Gunmax said, shaking his helm with a shrug. "Whatever she said, you likely offended her."
"Radiant Prism, we're well aware that your language programs are upgraded with our language. Can you please speak in Japanese so we can understand you properly?" McCrane asked.
Radiant Prism briefly looked at the the others then focused back to the two commissioners, to which she sighed and shook her helm. "Yes, sorry... But please forgive me if I suddenly switch to my own language instinctively without warning. An additional language will take time getting used to."
"There's no rush." Duke spoke up next. "Even I needed time getting used to Japanese."
Azuma stepped up. "Radiant Prism, I have a multitude of questions-"
"Azuma, where are your manners?" Saejima interrupted. "First we should introduce ourselves properly to Radiant Prism." The rest of the Brave Police stood up from their seats.
Before anyone could start introducing themselves, Deckerd looked to Saejima, Azuma, and Yuuta "It would be best if you three introduced yourselves first." He advised.
Stepping forward, Saejima introduced himself first. "I'm Saejima Juuzo, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Department. I'm also one of the people who conceived the Brave Police project a few years ago." He paused, then looked to his friend, indicating he's next in introducing himself. As Saejima stood back, Azuma stepped forth. "Azuma Kazuto, Vice-Commissioner to the Metropolitan Police Department." He introduced stoically, having no need to say anymore as he stepped back while Yuuta went next.
"I'm Tomonaga Yuuta, the Boss of the Brave Police." At Yuuta's introduction of himself, Radiant Prism was stunned as she could have sworn that she didn't hear him right but didn't say a single thing. Why would the city's police department give such a young child the title of Boss and how did he earn his way through the ranks? What lengths did Yuuta go to earn such a title? She had so many questions to ask, but decided not to say anything out of concern that she might be looked at with disappointment added that she had no idea how different the laws and requirements are that of Japan's compared to back in Germany. Yuuta hadn't failed to notice Radiant Prism's surprised expression. "I know it must be surprising or strange to you, but I can tell you about it later." He added a little nervously, but then looked to Deckerd next.
"We've somewhat already introduced ourselves a few days ago. I'm Deckerd, the leader of the team." Deckerd introduced.
Radiant Prism nodded as the others proceeded to introduce themselves one by one as they also gave small but brief descriptions of themselves, mainly their hobbies and what they really like or what they're best at doing. Once everyone finished their introductions, it was now her turn. "You all already know my name, but I'll introduce myself in full. I'm Radiant Prism, I came all the way from Germany where I'm based in Dortmund, the city I was built in." She introduced, relatively formal in her mannerisms. "I can see that some of you have questioning looks in your eyes... I'll try to answer them the best I can, but one at a time." Before anyone could get the chance to ask a question, Azuma quickly asked his question.
"One of the most important things that needs to be addressed." He said, walking towards the edge. "Germany is a long way from here, why did you come all the way here to Japan? For what reason?"
The foreign Brave didn't answer right away, clear evidence of hesitation made everyone concerned as they felt that Azuma had perhaps been rather too harsh with his question, but before anything could be said, she spoke knowing that an explanation was needed. "My former superior intended on disposing me because I've failed."
"Failed?" Repeated Dumpson. "Why would your former superior dispose of you because you've failed in your duty? Not everything turns out well in our favour."
"A week or two from now, the city of Essen was under attack by a trio of criminals piloting a large mecha, notorious for all sorts of crimes they've committed. I responded accordingly but took heavy damage and I was overpowered. Shortly after, I was forced to retreat by orders of my former vice superior once the army arrived to try and deal with the situation. I was out for some time while undergoing lengthy repairs. Once my repairs were complete, my former superior informed me that the time had come to give me a team of my own, but..."
"What happened?" Yuuta asked.
Radiant Prism made sure not to leave a single detail out as everyone listened carefully when she explained all that's happened. Questions were thrown around during parts of her story, she answered all of them to the best she could while there were some questions she wasn't quite sure how she could answer or explain them. Some of the Brave Police reacted to different parts of it all, some were surprised, annoyed, or even angered by what had occurred. When she pointed out that not only was she to be disposed after copies of her A.I. were to be made but also that she was teamless because of her former superior's selfish greed to make himself appear better than the other teams stationed in other parts of Germany which left everyone surprised at this. Both of these two major facts were enough to either anger or annoy just about anyone.
"...And that's about it, any other questions?" Radiant Prism asked, knowing the silence would probably carry on for some time if no one said anything as there was so much for everyone to let it sink all in.
"Let's save the questions for next time." Saejima told Radiant Prism as he briefly looked to his watch. "Everyone needs to start their evening patrol duties. Meanwhile, I'm going to see if I can reach Gustav."
"Sir, I will warn you that Gustav is a heavily self-centered man no matter what anyone says to him. I'm also not sure if he speaks Japanese, and if that's the case I can always act as the translator so the both of you can understand one another if needed. Nothing can sway him as he's also incredibly stubborn."
"Hmm... Very well. Deckerd, assign everyone's patrol routes for the evening. Radiant Prism and I will be using the office's main communications system in private."
"Yes sir." Deckerd nodded as he turned his attention to his desk computer, assigning everyone their patrol route. One by one, everyone filed out to begin said given routes until both he and Yuuta were the last ones to leave. Once everyone had left, now it was only Radiant Prism, Saejima, and Azuma that remained in the room.
Radiant Prism was nervous about having to come face to face with her former superior even if it was through the screen. Knowing there was no way around it, though it wasn't because she was scared, but was feeling extremely uneasy and tense as she never wanted to see the self-centered man's face again. Saejima walked over to Yuuta's desk, inputting a couple commands on the computer desk as the screen descended from the ceiling, turning on once it was fully extended. With another series of inputs upon Radiant Prism giving the information needed to contact Gustav, all they had to do now was wait for the answer.
...
"What's the matter Yuuta?" Deckerd asked, concerned for his friend.
"I'm just really worried, what if this Gustav guy demands Saejima to send her back to Germany? She looked really upset after giving Saejima a warning like that." Replied Yuuta, looking out the window.
"Mm, I doubt he'll listen to his demands. The fact that they intended to dispose of her because of one little mistake in her duties is unjust. While it can be stressful when not everything always goes according to plan, such as when we lost one of the criminals when we fought the bio-machine robot they built. However, there's always another chance at catching the same criminal again once we learn they've come out of hiding and discover their whereabouts."
"Ah, that reminds me, did Shadowmaru sense any lies from her?"
"No, Shadowmaru informed all of us not long after we left that every single word she said is true." Replied Deckerd.
"Ah, she could have been possibly lying?"
"As police officers, it's not in our data to lie even to a fellow officer. But Shadowmaru always has his special sensors running regardless if he's not on current duty. If he's already told both high-ranking officers that she spoke the truth, I strongly believe it should be enough to persuade both Commissioners to have her stay here, if she chooses to stay." As Deckerd stopped at a red light, he glanced around briefly while waiting for the signal to change colour. "However... If she does decide to stay here and work with us..."
"What is it, Deckerd?"
"Yuuta, have you noticed the crest on her helm?"
"Crest? Yeah I have, But... Oh." Yuuta thought for a moment, then looked to Deckerd's dashboard "But, what I don't get is why does she have that if she was the only one in her city protecting the peace?"
As the light changed colour, Deckerd continued onwards. "She did mention she was originally going to have a team of her own but Gustav decided against that she didn't need a team of her own unlike the other stationed Brave Police teams in other parts of Germany. However, I dislike the fact he left her in the dark about that they were being built. Perhaps that she was to lead a team of her own, but for reasons unknown all this time, he perhaps felt it was unnecessary."
"I don't like the fact that this guy thinks he's better than everyone else... His mistreatment of her and then wanting to throw her away, that could be why she's afraid of people." Frowning, Yuuta began to think about how could he and everyone else help her learn how to trust people again, if only he could figure out exactly how he could dispel such a fear away, but had no idea where to start. The streets of Nanamagari City were peaceful. The rest of the afternoon shifted into evening as the last remainders of sunlight disappeared over the horizon. The others reported to Deckerd occasionally within a certain time, but afterwards some would express curiosity on if Radiant Prism and the two Commissioners were finished with communications as they haven't heard anything from the station at all. Deckerd simply could tell them that they'd need to wait a bit longer as they needed privacy to speak with them.
-Boss, Deckerd, I don't think she'll be going around trying to order us around.- Dumpson replied. -If she said that she's worked independently the whole time since she was first built, she doesn't have the knowledge to lead a team.-
-She hasn't tried ordering us around for a start.- Drill Boy chimed in. -But, I can't help but think that if she does stay. Like... Where would be her usual patrol route, and... Other stuff.-
-What I'm most curious about is why would this Redlight she mentioned say that Deckerd may know how to help her.- Duke pointed out.
"This is something I wonder about as well." Replied Deckerd.
Hours would pass until when everyone decided to retire back to the station for the night, they still had no word about if the little private meeting was done, but just as they entered, they found Radiant Prism off to the far left corner sitting down staring at a barrel of fuel she was holding. Upon approach, they could see she looked very worn out, easily noticible when she was too tired to react to Yuuta's slight closeness as Deckerd was carrying the young boy in his servo.
"If you ask, the meeting ended about half an hour before you got here..." She told Deckerd and the others, rubbing her face as she set the barrel down and slowly got up, shaking her head. "Translating between parties back and forth... I hope I'll never have to go through that again."
"How did it go?" Deckerd asked.
Radiant Prism shrugged. "Other than my former superior trying your superiors' patience, he managed to succeed in angering... I think his name was Azuma. I can't really say if it went well or went horribly, but the higher ranking one, Saejima as he calls himself, has incredible patience and a strong mind for someone so... Forgive my choice of word, unusual. When the meeting ended, both men left not too long after." She said.
"Saejima does have his... Moments, but he also does have his serious moments when something big calls for it, like that private meeting." Yuuta pointed out.
"You'll get used to him after a while." McCrane added.
"I've seen." Radiant Prism made her way towards the lift.
"Where are you going?" Deckerd asked.
"I'm going to recharge in the office room again, it's late."
"Aren't you forgetting you have another option than what you're deciding?" Gunmax asked.
Stopping in her tracks, Radiant Prism turned to face the Motorcycle Detective. "Huh?"
"There's an alternate option you haven't taken thought into."
"I'm not sure where you're going with this, Gunmax..."
"I'm saying no one's telling you that you're not allowed to recharge here in the garage with the rest of us." Gunmax pointed out. "Unlike everyone else, I don't have a form so I recharge in one of the docking cradles instead."
"You don't have a vehicle form?" Radiant Prism stared at the green-blue coloured Brave as if she weren't hearing him properly when he said he doesn't have a vehicle form.
"Nope."
"We should be shutting down for the night." Deckerd announced. "We've got work tomorrow in the morning."
"Everyone is starting to drift off." Shadowmaru yawned as he shifted into his car mode, making himself comfortable in his spot while everyone else nodded and filed out, giving one another space to change form and make themselves comfortable while Gunmax docked himself in one of the docking cradles. Radiant Prism watched as Deckerd and Yuuta made their way towards the exit. Radiant Prism watched as Deckerd changed form, Yuuta climbing into his interior when he opened his door.
"Deckerd? Where are you going?" She asked.
"Ah, Deckerd's always at my house when we're off duty." Yuuta replied, though obviously sleepy.
Radiant Prism raised a brow in confusion. "Your house...?"
"Yup!"
"I recharge at the Tomonaga residence rather than here." Deckerd said. "Well, we'll see you in the morning." Radiant Prism watched as the two left, then focused her attention to her surroundings as she found herself space, carefully changing form so she wouldn't bump her wings into anything. Never had she thought that she would have to recharge in her vehicle form but since it seemed to be a casual thing among the others, she wondered about which decision will they decide on, and if she's allowed to stay. She silently admitted to herself that she was curious about what would the two do when it's decided she can stay... She was fully aware that if that were the decision, she would have to adjust to working for the team as a new addition and would also mean that she would have to learn all about Japan's laws and culture before she could even start any work. 'If that's the case, then I fully understand. It would be highly unwise to send me out to work if I know nothing about how things work here... It's important I know and prepare myself...' She thought.
Sweeping her wings close to her body, Radiant Prism vented a sigh as it would have to wait in the morning, slowly shutting down to recharge.
...
"Drill Boy, that's enough." Dumpson replied, shaking his helm. His younger teammate had been messing with Radiant Prism's wings not long when everyone had one by one started to wake up.
"Isn't it cool though? I've never seen anyone have wings like this. Not even Shadowmaru or I can move our wings like Radiant Prism's." Replied Drill Boy, grinning from audio to audio as he muffled his laughs when the German Brave made a reaction by sweeping her wings outwards, then folding them back neatly against her body.
"She's probably not used to our timezone yet, she did make it all the way here in Japan a few days ago from now."
"I'll admit it's kinda weird to look at her in her vehicle form now, since the last time I've seen her in vehicle mode was when I was trying to talk to her thinking that she was one of those people from the army like Seia and somehow got lost, but then she started building up speed and flying away from me as if I were an enemy or something."
Radiant Prism stirred out of her recharge as the first thing she saw was Dumpson standing off to the side and then seeing Drill Boy, who was near her right side messing with one of her wings. "Drill Boy, what are you doing?" She asked him with a yawn.
"Ah! Sorry, I guess I just found how unique your wings were." The Soccer Detective replied sheepishly. "I've never seen jets like this that can move their wings towards the body and away, how do you do that?"
"Uh..." Radiant Prism wasn't sure how she could answer Drill Boy's question. "I'm... Not sure how to explain." She finally answered after a moment.
"Is there a purpose to being able to move your wings?"
"Yes, when I'm flying normally, I- Ah, before I continue, may I ask for some space please?"
"Okay!" Drill Boy stood up as he backed away, giving her space like she asked.
"When flying normally, I have my wings out like this." She explained, sweeping her wings away from her body. "This is how I normally fly. However, if I desire to fly at my maximum speed for whatever reasons I see fit, I sweep my wings close to my body like so." This time Radiant Prism swept her wings close to her body, but hasn't paid attention to the others having stopped to listen to her explanation of her unique vehicle mode. "However flying like this unfortunately causes me to sacrifice a large portion of my ability to turn sharply like I would normally with my wings swept away from my body." Radiant Prism continued to explain a few other important things about what she could do, but kept them short as she wouldn't want to keep them from starting their work added that she was seeing more and more of the techs coming in to start work. Once she finished explaining, she changed out of her vehicle mode and backed away from the techs when she began noticing more and more were coming in.
"That's so cool! It's going to be awesome when you join us especially on patrol duty!" Drill boy beamed, but then recalled remembering last night when the German Brave said they were discussing about it privately. "Oh... Right, they haven't decided yet..." Drill boy then turned to McCrane. "Have they?"
"I don't have the answer to that I'm afraid." Replied McCrane.
Having just arrived, Deckerd changed out of his vehicle mode as he joined up with the others who started to make their way towards the lift. Once everyone was up on the first floor, they all filed in and sat at their respective desks. Radiant Prism noticed that Yuuta wasn't present, but then knew that a young boy his age should be in school by now as she pushed those thoughts aside. She made her way towards the office window, opening the blinds as she idly stared out at the moving cars going by, some driving into the station which she guessed were more of Toudou's technicians arriving to work. Deckerd and Duke were busying themselves assigning some of the team with patrol duties while others who weren't assigned with any routes instead focused on doing both paperwork, as well as responding to and answering any incoming calls.
Her attention turning to the others, she was amazed to see what it looked like to be around a full team than by herself as she had been used to since she was first brought online.
'So this is what it's like to be alongside others...' She thought, watching the assigned 'bots leave the office to begin their patrol duties. 'Is this what Redlight, Surge, and Blazer experience every day with their teams?'
Knowing she wasn't going to do much with just standing at the window doing nothing, she approached both Deckerd and Duke.
"Everything alright?" Duke asked, turning away from his desk monitor as Deckerd followed suit.
"Yes, but since all I can do is just stand around doing nothing but wait for Saejima and Azuma to return with news, mind if I excuse myself to refine my aim in the shooting range? I'll need something to occupy myself with if I'm to wait for their decision."
"Go right ahead, Duke and I figured you could pass the time there while you wait for them. One of us will notify you once they come in." Replied Deckerd.
"Thank you." Saluted Radiant Prism, then proceeded to excuse herself as she left the offices.
