The common room was empty during the midday study period. So Alicia was surprised to find an abandoned pair of spectacles on a table by the windows. She picked them up—the horn-rimmed frames seemed familiar—and held them up in the light. She tried them on and groaned. "Not very useful if you ask me…" Then she yipped as an arm reached around her to grope the table for the item. She turned and found herself nose-to-nose with Percy.
He squinted then laughed. "I assure you, they're useful—though I doubt they look that nice on me," he teased.
