Harry and Merope Meets Percy Jackson

Disclaimer: I don't own these characters or series, only the plots that you don't recognize.

A/N: Well, I'm at a stopping point in the story I was reading that just seems to be a bunch of filler at the moment, so I figured I'd work on this story in order to avoid the temptation I had of just skipping ahead to the last couple of chapters.

Also, I regret downloading TikTok. I have spent I don't know how many hours watching TikTok videos when I could have been doing other things. That crap really sucks a person in.

Chapter 6

The next morning the children were all ready for a tour of their new home, but they didn't wake up early enough to do it before breakfast, as the campers were required to have breakfast with all the other campers, so they were promised the tour after breakfast, but before it was time for any regularly scheduled activities they were meant to have.

Breakfast had been an interesting affair, the new campers from Potter Cabin seemed a little confused as to who their offering should go to, seeing as how Harry and Merope were not actually gods from Olympus; however, the confusion seemed to get all cleared up on what to do after Timmy Fletcher gave his offering.

Young Timmy was overheard whispering gratefully, "Thank you for sending Harry and Merope to us, whoever you are." And the food went up in smoke, creating the most delicious and satisfying smell that any of the campers could ever remember smelling before.

After the rest of the Potter campers gave their offerings and said something similar, the scent surrounding the campers smelled as if it had been made of the sweetest ambrosia that had ever been on Mount Olympus.

After breakfast, the Potters and their campers all returned to Potter Cabin for their tour.

They started with the kitchen, where Merope explained that she wanted to make sure they all knew how to cook, because it was a life skill that they were going to need to know once they were all grown up. Not only would they learn how to cook for their future families, they would be taught how to make and pack survival food for when they were on quests.

"Speaking of survival for these quests," Harry interjected, "we are also intending to teach you all how to make magical potions that will aid you in your survival on these quests."

"What do you mean by potions," Aurora asked timidly, "like, eye of newt or something like that?"

Smiling in amusement, Merope said, "That is one of the possible ingredients."

Aurora started looking a little green upon hearing that.

Harry chuckled and said, "I can attest that none of the potions we will be teaching you how to make will in any way taste good, nor will the ingredients sound at all appetizing, BUT they can save your life."

"But how?" Asked Maria skeptically. "We have ambrosia that we can take when we're injured and it tastes amazing."

Harry nodded in agreement and said, "While it's true that you have ambrosia and it tastes delicious, too much of it can cause you serious harm because it's food meant for the gods and you are only part god." Seeing that he had everyone's attention, he continued, "There is a potion called Skeleton-Gro. I once had all the bones vanished from my arm when I was 12 years old, that potion regrew my bones overnight."

"…"

"Another useful potion is the Blood-Replenishing Potion," Merope added helpfully, "which as its name indicates, will replenish your blood if you've lost too much."

"…"

"There's also a bruise paste that will instantly remove any bruises, along with many other potions that can be used in battle or pranks," Harry said with a nod.

"Is there anything for bad dreams?" Sarah asked quietly.

Merope gave Sarah a comforting smile and said, "There is a dreamless sleep potion; however, it's very addicting, so it cannot be taken too often."

Changing the subject, "How about we move along with the tour?" Harry asked, as he checked the time. "Activities should be starting very soon and you all haven't even seen the best part of the cabin."

Next they visited the library, which Harry and Merope had stocked with a mixture of magical and non-magical texts. They had added a good bit of fiction, too, for those campers that might enjoy getting lost in a good story.

All of the kids seemed a bit impressed with the library except for Fred, who asked, "Are you telling me that you thought books would be the best part of this tour?"

Harry laughed and said, "Oh ye of little faith." Then he turned to walk back and forth in front of a seemingly blank wall, causing the children to exchange confused looks with each other, but before they could voice anything aloud, a door suddenly appeared,

Turning to the kids, Harry said, "Now, this is the best part. Come on." Then he opened the door and walked in, and the children followed after him cautiously, while Merope was hiding her amusement.

When they entered, it looked as if they had stepped into another world. There was a forest, a lake, and what appeared to be a castle in the distance. Fairies were flying overhead and there was a herd of unicorns in the distance at the edge of the forest.

"What is this place?" Aurora asked in amazement.

"This, my dear, is the Room of Requirement," Harry said proudly. "It is a replica from a room that was in a castle that was my school, which was called Hogwarts and is the castle you can see in the background there. This is what it looked like during my time there."

"…"

"It is a room that becomes whatever you require it to be," Harry further explained. "If you need an exercise room, you walk back and forth in front of the wall three times thinking to yourself, 'I need a room to exercise in. I need a room to exercise in. I need a room to exercise in.' And then a door will appear and you'll find a room with exercise equipment in it."

"And if we needed a room for making potions," Merope added helpfully, "you would walk back and forth three times, thinking to yourself that you need a potions lab."

"Or if we wanted a swimming pool, we could walk back and forth asking for a swimming pool?" Bobby asked curiously.

"Exactly," Harry said with a smile.

"The best bit, though, is that we can ask for a training room where time passes very slowly outside the room, so that if we were to spend one hour in the room, only one minute would have passed outside the room." Harry said excitedly.

"What?!" Jack exclaimed.

Harry chuckled and said, "We are going to be doing a lot of training in here under the time compression, so that we can make sure that you are all fully trained and ready for survival, in the event you ever get called out on a quest. Or even just so that you are equipped enough to survive to and past adulthood."

"Do you think we'll really get called out to do a quest? None of us have ever been sent out on a quest, and some of us have been here for a couple of years or more." Marsha wondered.

"Well, if I were to be honest, I'd prefer that none of you get called out to be part of any type of quest, because it's dangerous. Frankly, after spending my childhood fighting just to survive, it's not something that I believe any kid should have to be forced to do, it's a job for the adults." Harry said sternly.

"But we want you to know how to defend yourselves and we want to give you the best chance of survival, should the worst happen." Merope added. "We honestly don't know how much time we'll have in this world, before we move on to the next one, but it definitely won't be before you are all trained. And it certainly won't be before we've put safeguards in place so that you will have a way to contact us and sort unclaimed campers here after we are gone."

Timmy looked a bit saddened by the thought of Harry and Merope leaving so soon after coming, but he tried to hide it. Harry noticed it, though, and slung an arm around his shoulders. "Don't worry, mate, we'll be here a while yet. We normally stick around for at least 100 years or so. While we can generally control when we leave a place, we typically don't start feeling a pull to leave until after about 100 years or so. So I promise, we didn't adopt you all, only to abandon you right afterwards."

Timmy's shoulders sagged in relief at what Harry said, along with everyone else's.

It was decided that the Potter kids would all spend the day as regular campers, doing all of the normal activities at the camp, but tomorrow they would work on a schedule for training in the RoR.

The next morning:

"All right. Children, I need you to pay very close attention," Harry said, while standing in front of the blank wall where the RoR was located.

The children immediately quieted.

Then Harry made his announcements, "We are going to try to do this as simply as possible, because it is quite easy to lose oneself in the time room, making it very difficult for your mind and body to revert back to real time."

"An hour outside of this room will equal 60 hours inside the room, basically a minute outside for every hour inside. It will be exhausting for you to stay in that room for 60 hours, only to come out of the room and find that it is still only morning, and then have a full day of regular camp activities, even if you were to sleep every few hours. Doing so will likely get you off of your sleep schedule.

"So what we're going to do today is just get to know each other and work out our training schedule. What Merope and I discussed was that it made more sense to do the regular camp activities during the day, and then after the evening meal, we will spend about three hours or so here in the RoR training. That way when training is over, you all can get a good night's rest for the next day."

Then Harry walked back and forth until a door opened and showed a room with huge bean bags situated in a circle. Without having to be told, the children all followed Harry into the room and picked a bean bag to sit on for the upcoming discussion.

Once everyone was seated, Merope started speaking. "Now, we will gradually increase our training time in the RoR, but we don't want you to work yourself into exhaustion. Also, our training won't always be limited to the RoR, nor will it always be limited to after the evening meal; however, until we find a happy medium between combat training, potions making, the magic of runes, and allowing you all to have fun, we may alternate between spending mornings and evenings in the RoR.

"Next week, for instance, we may work on practicing potion making in the mornings after breakfast and spend an hour or two in the room, and then do regular camping activities the rest of the day.

"The following week, we may work on your combat skills in the evenings; however, we're not really as concerned about spending a huge amount of extra time on your physical training, because based on what I've seen, you demigods are hardwired for combat and it's part of your instincts."

The kids nodded in collective agreement and then Harry took over again. "Our goal is to be able to train you in the RoR as frequently as we can so that by the end of the summer, you'll have a good understanding of potions making and the magic of runes, and I'm sure that whatever improvements are needed in your physical training will have been met, too."

Harry saw the kids were looking pretty eager to get started and asked, "So, does anyone have any questions?"

A/N: So this is as far as my imagination wants to take me today and I'm ready for a nap.
