Lucifer sighed as yet another knife was thrown his way, not even leaving a scratch on his chest. He never thought he'd see the day he'd wish to be injured by a simple human weapon. He could see the uneasiness growing on Maze's face, as she crossed another metal off the list. It seemed that the only thing that could harm him was Kami's presence, which caused an issue for the both of them. It had been three weeks since either had seen the brunette, and they were both miserable. Lucifer had to resort to telling their bouncers at the door not to let her in when she had started turning up at Lux. He expected his numerous phone calls from the Detective were due to her wondering why he was suddenly ghosting her sister.

"What are we going to do if this doesn't work? If Kami really is a…danger to you?" Maze questioned, in a quiet voice.

"We figure out who or what is weaponizing her" Lucifer replied, pushing himself up from the oak chair he had been lounging on.

"And until then?" Maze sighed, running her finger over one of her demon daggers.

"…I know this has been difficult for you, Mazikeen. You've become close to Kami and now you're being forced to avoid her" Lucifer pointed out.

"You come first Lucifer. Always" Maze told him, as he gave her a small smile.

"There is something else we haven't considered. Amenadiel may be using Kami as another one of his pawns" Lucifer suggested.

"I doubt that. Kami would have said something if your brother had approached her" Maze pointed out.

"You underestimate my brother, Maze. He's used to getting what he wants. Kami may not even know she is being used…" Lucifer trailed off, as the elevator door swung open.

His forehead wrinkled as one of their bartenders exited the lift, pulling a large decorative box behind him, big enough to house a person inside. Lucifer saw the way Maze's lips pulled into a smirk and gave her a look.

"Just a little something to cheer you up" Maze grinned, knowing that a stripper was inside the box, ready to jump out at any minute.

"You do know a way to the man's heart" Lucifer chuckled, clapping his hands together, excitedly.

The bartender gave the box a small kick, wondering why the stripper still hadn't jumped out. They could all hear mumbling from inside the box, the irritation clear in the person's voice. Lucifer frowned as they could hear someone hitting the top of the box with their fist before the object flopped onto its side, and the person inside fell out with a thud. Lucifer's eyes widened when he saw that it wasn't a stripper inside, but someone far more familiar.

"You really need to get some breathing holes in that thing. Jesus—" Kami muttered, dusting herself off as she pushed herself to her feet.

"New job?" Lucifer scoffed.

"Ha, funny. Oh, there's a girl outside in her underwear. I promised her drinks on the house if we swapped. Would you mind…?" Kami questioned, turning to the bartender, who did as he was told after Lucifer gave him a nod.

"You know I did pay for a stripper, are you really going to let my money go to waste?" Maze smirked, as Kami rolled her eyes fondly.

"Well, when your friends suddenly start ghosting you, what's a girl to do?" Kami exclaimed, crossing her arms.

"I do have a business to run. No rest for the wicked, as they say" Lucifer shrugged.

"Uh-huh, is that why you're still in your robe?" Kami retorted, unimpressed.

"I can take it off if you want?" Lucifer suggested, as flirty as ever.

"How about you put your suit on instead. Chloe's got a case" Kami announced.

"Lucifer. Don't" Maze advised, shooting him a look.

"…I've, uh…actually been thinking about taking some time off from my consultant duties—" Lucifer began, but Kami quickly cut him off.

"Look, I know what this is about, Lucifer" Kami sighed.

"You do?" Lucifer frowned, as he saw Maze straighten up from where she had been leaning against his piano.

"You're scared of me" Kami replied.

It only took a second for both Maze and Lucifer to burst out laughing, practically in hysterics. Kami clenched her jaw as Lucifer clutched at his stomach, tears beginning to well in his eyes from laughing so hard.

"Say…say again?" Lucifer choked out, trying to stop his laughter.

"I killed someone in front of you. Scared you off. It's what always happens" Kami scoffed, once the two had finally got a hold of themselves.

"Not in this case. I swear. Maze and I have just been dealing with some…things" Lucifer told her, lamely.

"Things?" Kami asked, unconvinced.

"Yes. Now, you said the Detective has a new case?" Lucifer inquired.

"One that she can't do without you" Kami admitted, watching the older man practically light up at the idea.

"Well, what are we waiting for" Lucifer grinned, heading towards the elevator.

"If you turn up like that at a crime scene, Chloe's gonna' beat your ass" Kami advised, as Lucifer nodded after a moment, rushing towards his bedroom.

Maze was surprised when Kami pulled something out of her pocket, and threw it her way, as she easily caught to object. A frown grew on Maze's face when she saw it was a smartphone and gave Kami a look of confusion.

"I figured you didn't have one" Kami stated, as Maze turned the device on.

"No one to call" Maze shrugged.

"Well, you have someone to call now. My number's already in there. Not that I'm saying you should call me…or that I'm telling you not to…I mean, I'm here right now so you wouldn't anyway but…" Kami began, cutting her own rambling off once Lucifer entered the room.

"Ready?" Lucifer asked, smoothing out the collar of his shirt.

Kami nodded quickly, rubbing the back of her neck as she made a hasty getaway. She didn't see the small smile growing on Maze's lips, or the fond look in her eyes. No one had ever got Maze a gift before.

"It's pretty bad, Lucifer. She was only nineteen. And the murderer didn't just kill her, they…what are you doing?" Kami inquired, when she saw how Lucifer was staying two metres away from her at all times.

"Nothing I was just…admiring your backside" Lucifer shrugged, as Kami huffed.

"You're being extra weird today…you're not on drugs are you?" Kami frowned.

"Why, do you have some?" Lucifer grinned, cheekily.

"C'mon, trouble. Chloe's waiting" Kami insisted, as she grabbed his hand and pulled him past a group of bystanders that were protesting outside the theatre the victim had been killed in.

Lucifer felt his heartbeat quicken as he looked down at their linked hands, as Linda's words came to the forefront of his mind. Could he really have a crush on the brunette? He was thankful when she let go of his hand as they neared the stage, but could still feel a strange tingling sensation in his palm.

"Look who decided to finally show" Chloe announced, as she saw the two approaching.

"I had to all but drag him here" Kami exclaimed.

"Let's go down to it then…you better brace yourself, Lucifer. It's bad" Chloe warned him, as Lucifer wondered why they all kept saying that.

He soon got his answer when a sheet was pulled off the corpse lying in the middle of the stage. The body had been rolled onto its back, revealing the words 'Hail Lucifer', carved into the victims back. Lucifer grimaced at the sight; his eyes being drawn to the pool of blood underneath the blonde. She was only nineteen, why would someone have killed her so brutally?

"You don't bleed that much unless your heart's still pumping…she was alive when the murderer carved into her" Kami muttered, the disgust clear in her voice.

"Do you have any suspects?" Lucifer questioned, as Chloe shook her head.

"The woman wasn't stabbed here, but I think she was still alive when she was placed here. No one saw anything. We can't let this turn into another cold case" Chloe sighed.

"Hey, we'll find the sick fuck that did this. And we'll make them pay, Chlo" Kami insisted, patting her sister on the shoulder.

"I couldn't agree more" Lucifer all but growled.

"We were hoping you might be able to give us some ideas on suspects actually" Chloe admitted, turning to him.

"This young girl's death had nothing to do with me, Detective" Lucifer retorted.

"This is your doing! This is your fault! You're the King of all lies…the King of all Evil!" A preacher from the crowd outside yelled, having somehow got through the security in the theatre.

"You must be destroyed!" The man shouted, shoving his chubby finger in the air, as Kami jumped down from the stage, an angry look on her face.

"Hey! You're gonna' be the one destroyed if you don't back up" Kami retorted, shoving the man in the chest, roughly.

"He's the Devil!" The man cried, as Kami rolled her eyes.

She saw his fist coming towards her just in time, managing to duck before he could strike her and kicked out. The man fell to the floor with a cry, as Kami smirked when she realised she had kicked him in the crotch. Unshed tears grew in the preacher's eyes as he glared up at Kami, his face red with anger.

"Get him out of here" Kami muttered, ushering over to two uniformed officers.

"Nice shot" Chloe called over to her sister.

"What can I say, he was asking for it" Kami joked, as she made her way back to the pair.

"You certainly do know how to handle yourself" Lucifer commented, his lips twitching into a smile, as he gave her an appreciative look.

"…You okay?" A familiar voice questioned, as Kami twisted around to glare at Dan.

"Yeah, not that you'd care" Kami scoffed, making her way back over to the victim.

"Look, I was thinking. We should talk—" Dan began, as Kami held her hand up to his face.

"Huh, look at that…we just did" Kami retorted, turning her back on the older man.

"Kami, there's something I need to tell you. It's about that text I sent" Dan continued.

"I'm not some stupid kid who can't handle rejection, okay? Just drop it" Kami mumbled, still refusing to turn to him.

"It's not as simple as that" Dan told her, as she scoffed.

"Really? So, you don't still have feelings for Chloe?" Kami accused, hearing a long sigh from behind her.

"…I never meant to hurt you, Kami. Look, I know you're lashing out because your angry—" Dan started again but was cut off as Kami whipped around.

"I'm not angry!" Kami shouted, her harsh tone betraying her words.

"Just stay the fuck away from me" Kami insisted, shoving past him when she saw how some of the officers had turned to stare at the pair.

Kami shook her head as she began to walk back to Lucifer, wanting to facepalm. Not some stupid little kid who can't handle rejection…yeah right, Kami thought to herself. Her forehead wrinkled when she spotted Malcolm standing by Lucifer, gripping his hand tightly. Kami thought that she had never seen Lucifer look quite so uncomfortable.

"Hey, Malcolm. There's this thing called personal space, you ever heard of it?" Kami joked, as she approached the pair.

Malcolm's eyes quickly snapped to hers, as he tilted his head, staying oddly silent for a few moments before he started laughing. Kami and Lucifer shared a look as the man continued to laugh hysterically. He placed his hand over his mouth, as Kami looked away from the man's eyes, seeing something manic behind them.

"I can't…why can't I…" Malcolm stuttered before another fit of giggles hit him.

"Okay, this is starting to get uncomfortable now" Kami whispered to Lucifer, who was watching Malcolm with a similarly wary expression.

All of a sudden, the smile fell from Malcolm's face, as the man went unnaturally still, before nodding to himself.

"See you around, pal" Malcolm said, slapping Lucifer's ass before jumping off the stage, almost skipping away.

"Well, that was weird" Kami muttered.

"People often are when they…" Lucifer trailed off, biting his lip.

"They what?" Kami frowned.

"Nothing. Tell the Detective I'll meet her at the victim's father's house" Lucifer exclaimed, before rushing away a moment later.

Kami spent the rest of the morning trying to decipher what the subdermal implants they found in Rose, the victim, could mean. Chloe was out following a lead with Dan, leaving Lucifer to paw through a book he had found in the victim's apartment. He stayed on the other side of the room, shooting her a strange look every now and again. Growing irritated, Kami crumpled up a piece of paper into a ball and threw it at Lucifer, who let out a cry when it hit him in the face.

"What is with you today? Do I smell or something?" Kami frowned, as the man reluctantly approached her.

"You smell the same as you always do" Lucifer dismissed, looking down at the implants Kami had spread out on the table.

"That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence" Kami snorted, as Lucifer came to stand beside her.

"Oh, bloody hell" Lucifer cursed off, suddenly leaning over her, his body pressed close to her back.

Kami tried to ignore the way his hot breath tickled her shoulder, and the strong smell of cologne that she knew would cling to her for the rest of the day. Her eyes flickered down as he arranged the implants to spell out some sort of words.

"Filii hircus. It's Latin. Mean's children of the goat. Why do they always associate me with goats? I don't even like their cheese" Lucifer grumbled, pulling away a moment later.

Clearing her throat, Kami turned to her sister's computer, quickly finding a Church that called themselves a similar name based in L.A. After putting the Latin words in as a password, she soon found a meeting they were planning to have that same day. She was about to log off the computer, when she saw a picture on the original search, and couldn't stop the giggle that left her lips.

"Hey, looking good" Kami grinned, ushering to the half human-half goat figure on the screen that was captioned as 'Lucifer'.

"Very funny" Lucifer rolled his eyes.

"Alright, let's go to this secret meeting…and before you say it, you're coming in my car whether you like it or not" Kami warned, holding up her finger.

"So commanding" Lucifer smirked, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously, as the pair headed towards the lift.

"…Roses" Lucifer exclaimed, as the lift pinged open.

"What?" Kami frowned.

"It's your shampoo. Roses" Lucifer mumbled, stepping into the lift.

It took Kami a second to realise he was talking about her earlier question on whether she smelt. She had to hide the small smile on her face as she followed him, finding the comment oddly sweet.

She drove them to the location, an impressive-looking mansion, that had dozens of cars parked outside, indicating they were in the right place for the meeting. Lucifer went to open the passenger door when Kami held up her keys and locked it. She wasn't letting him off so easily.

"Enough is enough. Talk" Kami announced.

"About what? The weather?" Lucifer complained, trying the door handle once again, knowing he could pull the door off its hinges if he really wanted.

"I know you've been avoiding me. And you said it's not because you're scared of me. So, why?" Kami insisted.

"I cut my hand" Lucifer mumbled, making Kami frown.

"I don't understand" Kami replied, confused.

"I don't get hurt. Not usually, at least" Lucifer sighed, as a realisation slowly hit Kami.

"You're scared of getting hurt…of me hurting you?" Kami guessed.

"Of your presence hurting me to be exact, but yes" Lucifer nodded, his eyes drawn forward.

"Getting close to someone can be scary. I know that…but what's the alternative, Lucifer? Being alone forever?" Kami explained.

"It would be a safer way to live" Lucifer pointed out.

"Is it really living?" Kami retorted, as he slowly turned to her.

"You make me weak, Kami. And I don't know what I'm supposed to do about that" Lucifer confessed, a vulnerable look on his face.

"You have a funny way of saying you care about someone, you know" Kami smirked.

"I'll take that as a compliment" Lucifer smiled back at her.

"…You know I'd never hurt you, right? You mean a lot to me too" Kami admitted, reaching out to place her hand on Lucifer's arm, giving a small squeeze.

Lucifer's face suddenly felt hot, as his eyes flickered up to the mirror, finding his cheeks had flushed and cursed inwardly. He had all but given his blessing for Maze to ask Kami out, and here he was blushing under her touch. Maze deserved better. He was putting her first, he told himself firmly.

"We should go inside. Duty calls" Lucifer mumbled, pulling his arm away, surprising Kami a little.

He wouldn't look her in the eye as she unlocked the car door and he all but jumped out. Kami sighed when she realised he was still acting as weird as ever. Besides, his explanation didn't explain why Maze had been avoiding her too. The pair were still as much a mystery as ever. A tall man in a cloak answered the door, a grim expression on his face, and made no sign of letting them through. Kami crossed her arms and turned around, annoyed that they didn't seem to be getting far with the case. She whipped around when she had a girly scream and saw the cloaked man running away, a terrified expression on his face.

"After you" Lucifer exclaimed, holding the door open for her.

"What did you do?" Kami frowned, but stepped through the doorway, nonetheless.

"I can't help it if people are intimated by my mere presence" Lucifer grinned, following her into the mansion.

"I'm serious. What did you say to him?" Kami insisted, suspicious of how Lucifer could make a grown man run away screaming.

"…I showed him my devil eyes" Lucifer stated, seeing as it was the truth.

"Uh-huh, thought you weren't supposed to lie" Kami scoffed, hearing voices from nearby.

"I wasn't" Lucifer mumbled, in a sad tone.

They soon came to a group of Satanists, who were performing some sort of memorial for their fallen member. It started off well, but when they started to talk about 'blue lights', Lucifer had enough. He stormed into the middle of the crowd and began to argue that their whole group was a sham, but this only seemed to psych them up more.

"Stop! Someone killed this girl! Is that what you all wanted, eh? Should be ashamed of yourselves" Lucifer shouted, glaring at the group, who instantly clamped their mouths shut.

Kami and Lucifer quickly spotted a man, who appeared to be the leader of the Satanists, rushing away and went to follow him. Kami grabbed Lucifer's arm before they left the room, a concerned look on her face.

"You good?" Kami asked, as Lucifer curtly nodded.

"Hey! Put the knife down, or we'll…well, we'll do something and you won't like it!" Kami called out, when she spotted a large blade in the hands of the man they had followed.

"You cops or something?" The man replied, in a distinctive English accent.

"Or something. Why are you running?" Kami pushed, her eyes narrowed.

"I wasn't. I was upset" The man sighed, turning around to face them, dressed in the same cloak the others were.

"Feeling guilty, are you? Tell me...why? What nasty little urge are you hiding in your hoodie, hmm?" Lucifer went on, looming over the older man, who seemed to fall into a trance.

"I want to kill...I want to kill the sick bastard who killed Rose. And then, after that, I want the hell out of this racket" He admitted, shaking his head after, confused at why he had spoken.

Kami frowned, still not understanding how Lucifer's hypnosis worked, but knew now wasn't the time to mention it. She was just glad they were finally getting somewhere with the case. At least the man in front of them appeared to be forthcoming with information...not to mention kind of cute, Kami thought to herself.

"What's your name?" Kami questioned.

"Onyx…right, my real name. Mitch Watson. Yeah, I changed it when I joined the church. 12 years later, I'm the frickin' high priest. I'd love to bail. Kind of late for a career change, though" Mitch complained, as Kami shrugged.

"It's not like you're some old man" Kami stated, giving him an appreciative look.

"Thanks" Mitch smirked, as Lucifer cleared his throat.

"Back to the case at hand" Lucifer insisted, crossing his arms over his chest.

"If you're looking for suspects I've got one for ya. Rose's boyfriend, Corazon. He's the one who brought her in. Man, the guy's a creeper. He kept talking about doing real sacrifices on animals" Mitch explained, as Kami grimaced.

"Did Corazon have access to this knife?" Kami questioned.

"Yeah, probably. This here is just for show. The blade springs inside the handle" Mitch told her, and to prove his point, he raised his hand out and stabbed Lucifer with the fake knife, who grumbled under his breath.

"Alright, alright. We get the point" Lucifer muttered, brushing his hands away.

"Sorry, he's feeling a bit sensitive today. Do you have any similar knives?" Kami went on, as Mitch mulled it over.

"We do have an actual version. Hold on…knife's gone" Mitch gaped, when he turned to open a large box, but found nothing inside.

"Shit. Right, do you have any info on this Corazon? Anything we could use?" Kami inquired, as Mitch nodded.

"Sure. Wait here, I'll be right back, love" Mitch grinned, before walking towards a back room, not seeing how Lucifer's jaw tensed.

"How do we know he's not the killer? He's wearing makeup" Lucifer suggested, gesturing to the pale foundation Mitch was wearing.

"Says the guy walking around in eyeliner" Kami grinned.

"Well, I'll just go and leave you and lover boy to it then" Lucifer huffed, clearly irritated.

"Oh, don't be so dramatic. Hey, look…it's a portrait of you. Did you forget your sunscreen?" Kami grinned, pointing to a painting of a red, pointy horned Devil on the wall.

"You're really firing on all cylinders today, aren't you?" Lucifer snorted.

"And you're too tense. C'mon, you're supposed to be immortal or whatever, right? Why are you so worried about a little cut on your hand?" Kami questioned, referring to their earlier conversation.

"Because it shouldn't have happened! Not unless…" Lucifer trailed off, his eyes wide.

Was it possible that Kami was an Angel? Perhaps sent by his Father to destroy him? Or maybe sent by Amenadiel? He tilted his head to stare at Kami's back, his eyes narrowed in suspicion.

"Are you staring at my ass again?" Kami scoffed, slapping Lucifer's shoulder, as Mitch returned.

"I've only got his info. Will that help?" Mitch asked, as Kami nodded.

"It's a start" Kami mumbled.

Later that night, from the account details Mitch had given them, they were able to get a real name for Corazon and were already tracking him down. Chloe had been annoyed that the pair had gone to the Satanist group without her, but she understood that they were only trying to help. She and Kami were busy talking about the case in the kitchen, while Lucifer had snuck away to talk to Trixie, hoping to find out more about Kami.

"Right, do you where your Aunt is from?" Lucifer questioned, as the young girl rubbed her eyes since it was way past her bedtime.

"England" Trixie replied.

"Well, could she be from somewhere else?" Lucifer insisted.

"You mean like…Scotland?" Trixie frowned, as Lucifer raised his arms out in exasperation.

"Does she have any special powers?" Lucifer continued.

"Uh-uh" Trixie shook her head.

"Alright, what about markings? Does she have any scars?" Lucifer asked, as Trixie bit her lip.

"I'm not supposed to talk about it…" Trixie mumbled, twiddling her thumbs together.

"Will a tenner loosen your lips?" Lucifer suggested, grabbing a wad of cash from his suit pocket.

"Twenty and you've got a deal" Trixie grinned, as Lucifer quirked an eyebrow but gave her the money, nonetheless.

"She has a scar on her chest. Right here" Trixie exclaimed, pointing to underneath her collarbone.

"What sort of scar?" Lucifer frowned, as Trixie opened her mouth, but a familiar voice cut her off.

"What are you doing up, young lady? Lucifer, I've told you about waking Trixie up—" Chloe began.

"She was already up!" Lucifer retorted.

"No, I wasn't!" Trixie complained, marching back into her room, as Chloe followed her, knowing a tantrum was brewing.

"Why were you talking about scars with Trix?" Kami frowned, as Lucifer ushered her into the kitchen.

"Can you take your shirt off, please?" Lucifer asked, as Kami's jaw dropped open.

"I know subtly is not your thing, Luce, but that—" Kami started, but Lucifer stopped her.

"I need to know whether you're an Angel sent to destroy me" Lucifer told her, as Kami ran a hand down her face.

"Your serious?" Kami replied, as Lucifer nodded.

With a long sigh, she pulled her shirt over her shoulders, leaving her in just her bra and jeans. Lucifer couldn't help but let his gaze trail over her pale skin, feeling his face heat up once again. She did a little twirl, showing Lucifer her back, before turning back around, as Lucifer's mouth hung agape, quickly finding the scar that lay just above her breast.

"Was this all just a ploy for you to check me out?" Kami accused, feeling a little self-conscious under his intense gaze.

"This is old…" Lucifer trailed off, raising his hand out to brush against the scar, making Kami's breath stutter.

"It happened when I was a baby" Kami admitted, as Lucifer kept his hand where it was, running his finger up and down the red mark.

"So, can I put my shirt back on now?" Kami insisted, as Lucifer withdrew his hand, a smirk growing on his lips.

"Not on my account I hope" Lucifer grinned, as Kami pulled the shirt back on.

"And he's back" Kami rolled her eyes, fondly.

"What's this all about, anyway? I thought we were good" Kami pointed out.

"I'm still trying to understand why I can be hurt around you…and I wanted to see you with your shirt off" Lucifer admitted, as Kami elbowed him in the gut.

"Dick" She scoffed.

"…It looks like a stab wound" Lucifer said, after a few moments, as Kami averted her eyes to the floor

"Few inches down and it would have hit my heart. Doctor's always said I was lucky" Kami muttered.

"Was it an accident?" Lucifer frowned, as a bad feeling grew in his stomach.

"No. My mum…my biological mum, she has a lot of problems. Mental problems. She had an episode one day, tried to kill me…I got put into the system" Kami explained.

"I…I'm sorry, Kami. I didn't know" Lucifer mumbled, looking at her with a sympathetic expression.

"Everyone's got their baggage, right? At least I got out early. It's a lot more than some kids get" Kami replied, as Lucifer could tell she was trying to put on a brave face.

"That doesn't mean it doesn't hurt" Lucifer pointed out, as their eyes connected.

"I guess my mum gives your dad a run for his money, huh? In worst parent of the century?" Kami joked.

"I think they're both up there" Lucifer smiled, able to tell that she wanted to drop the conversation.

"At least I can tell Maze that she won't be disappointed with pursuing you. Your assets are certainly…something to remember" Lucifer smirked, sending her a wink.

"You better not be putting that image into your mental wank bank" Kami warned, as Lucifer chuckled.

"It's already in there" Lucifer stated, taping his head.

"Wait, what do you mean about Maze pursuing me?" Kami asked, after a few moments.

"…Oh, just that she was planning on asking you out on a date a few weeks ago" Lucifer mumbled, dismissively.

"She was?!" Kami gaped.

"She was quite nervous too, seeing as it was going to be her first-ever date" Lucifer added, seeing how Kami's jaw dropped.

"Shit…that's what she wanted to ask me in Lux" Kami realised, with a shake of her head.

"Mazikeen has been avoiding you because she fears that you could hurt me. I'm sure I could convince her that you're not a threat, if you wanted. She likes you. That's a very rare thing" Lucifer exclaimed, with a sad smile.

"I like her too…and I think I've got the perfect place for her first date" Kami grinned, pulling out her phone, her face full of excitement.

Lucifer's smile fell as she soon as she turned around, his brow furrowed as he felt his chest tighten. With a shake of his head, he pulled a cigarette out of his suit pocket and made his way towards the door. Kami was happy. Maze would be happy. That had to be enough for him.
