A/N: Hey everyone! I have a few fics finishing soon and I'd like to re-start one of my other stories that is on hiatus. I'd love it if you could check out the poll on my profile and vote on what story you'd like to see continue. Thanks for all the support:)

Kami's eyes snapped open, expecting to find a bullet still flying towards her, only to be greeted by a flash of lightning above her. Kami's jaw dropped open as she saw she was on a rooftop, with rain drizzling all around her. It wasn't possible. They had just been in Lux, how could they—

"You passed out" Lucifer's voice boomed above her, noticing the look of confusion on her face.

"No…no, I shut my eyes and the next second…" Kami trailed off, her eyes darting around the rooftop.

"You swooned in my arms. Don't worry, you're not the first" Lucifer smirked, holding out a hand for her to take.

Kami frowned at the offered limb, not looking convinced. Still, she placed her palm in his, allowing him to effortlessly pull her to her feet, seeing how she swayed a little. It was strange, she almost felt…jetlagged?

"But how did we get out?" Kami pushed, as Lucifer kept his hand on her forearm, just in case she passed out.

"Maze pulled the lights, the police were disorientated, and my brother grabbed us" Lucifer explained, ushering to Amenadiel who was standing a few metres away, his arms crossed.

"Are you okay? You didn't get hurt?" Kami asked, as Lucifer's lips twitched into a smile, seeing the concern in her eyes.

"I'm quite alright. Are you?" Lucifer replied, as she slowly nodded.

"Wait…where's Maze? Why didn't she come with us?" Kami panicked, as Lucifer felt his chest tighten again at hearing how worried she was about Maze.

"She provided a distraction. To help us escape" Lucifer explained, as Kami's forehead wrinkled.

"This is so messed up. I can't be on the run…I've got a shift at eight" Kami muttered, making Lucifer snort.

"I think that's the least of our problems at the moment" Lucifer pointed out.

"Try telling that to my patients" Kami scoffed, as Lucifer gave her a fond look.

Kami went to run a hand through her hair, surprised to find it sticking up on end. While there was clearly a storm brewing, it didn't explain why her hair was so windswept. Just another confusing question, Kami thought to herself. Her relief that no one had been hurt kept her from thinking into the strange occurrences that seemed to surround Lucifer.

"Why are we on a roof, anyway?" Kami frowned, as Lucifer appeared to mull over her comment for a moment.

"…The fresh air helps me think" Lucifer shrugged.

"Luci, we need to figure out a plan" Amenadiel stated, approaching the pair.

"I think you mean we need to figure out how to clean up the mess you've made" Lucifer retorted.

"What does that mean?" Kami asked, confused.

"I was the one who brought Malcolm back from hell—" Amenadiel began, but Lucifer was quick to cut him off.

"Metaphorically, of course. My brother here, helped put Malcolm on this destructive path he is now on" Lucifer exclaimed.

"Wait, how do you and Malcolm even know each other?" Kami inquired, looking to Amenadiel.

"I may have…blackmailed Malcolm into trying to kill Lucifer" Amenadiel admitted, his eyes downcast, as Kami's mouth went slack.

"…And I thought I had family problems" Kami mumbled, with wide eyes.

"I'm beginning to wish I had been shot" Lucifer grumbled, as he pulled at the ill-fitting hoodie that Kami had forced him to wear.

"We're hiding from the police, Lucifer. I figure your Prada suit would stick out" Kami retorted, eyes flickering around the nearly empty parking lot they found themselves in.

"I look ridiculous" Lucifer complained, almost pouting.

"No change there then" Amenadiel stated, earning a snort from Kami.

"Hey, there she is" Kami nodded, seeing a familiar car approaching, smiling when she saw who was behind the wheel.

"I'm here to pick up three damsels in distress" Maze smirked, as the parked the car opposite them.

"Are you okay? The cops didn't give you any problems?" Kami asked, as Maze jumped out of the car.

"Please, I can handle a few overweight sweaty men" Maze scoffed, surprised when Kami suddenly surged forward, pulling the older woman into a hug.

A soft smile slowly grew on Maze's lips, as she wrapped her arms around Kami's shoulders, pulling her closer. Lucifer looked away from the embrace quickly, his jaw clenched, something which Amenadiel took note of. Lucifer was too busy arguing with himself internally, knowing he shouldn't have been so affected by something as silly as a hug.

"Sorry, I was just…I was worried about you" Kami admitted, pulling away a few seconds later, surprised Maze hadn't pushed her away.

"I don't mind…being worried about" Maze said, giving a small shrug, as the two girls shared a smile.

"If you two are done, we have the rather pressing matter of being hunted by the police to deal with" Lucifer snapped, which Amenadiel raised an eyebrow to.

"The only way we'll fix this is by finding Malcolm. If he's got any sense he'll be boarding the next boat out of L.A" Kami explained, earning a nod from Lucifer.

"Then he'll need a new identity. And I think I know just the person he'll go to" Lucifer smirked.

"Alright, you follow your lead and I'll go speak to Malcolm's wife. She might know more" Kami suggested.

"I'll go with you. You might need backup" Maze told her, as Kami gave her a grateful look.

"Okay, did you bring the burner phones?" Kami asked, as Maze began to hand out the flip phones in response.

"I'm guessing I don't want to know why you have a pile of these in Lux" Kami exclaimed, as Lucifer placed a hand over his heart, letting out a mock gasp.

"Malcolm's dangerous. Be careful, yeah?" Kami warned.

"You too" Lucifer replied, his voice sounding thick with emotion.

A moment later, Kami was springing into his arms, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. She felt how Lucifer seemed to melt around her, his hands coming to rest on the small of her back. He gave her a quick squeeze before pulling away, a soft look in his eyes.

"Don't forget to leave some ass-kicking for me if you find him first" Lucifer stated, his hands now resting on her hips, appearing to not want to let her go.

"No promises" Kami grinned, as Maze reached out to place her hand on the brunette's shoulder.

"Let's go kill this weasel" Maze exclaimed, all but pulling Kami away.

"…Figuratively, right?" Kami frowned, gulping when she got no reply from Maze.

"Alright, the plan is I go around the back of the property and…Maze?" Kami frowned, as the woman in question sauntered up the steps on Malcolm's front porch.

Kami's jaw dropped open as Maze effortlessly kicked the front door open, which was now barely being held up by its hinges. Maze turned around to raise an eyebrow at Kami, holding her arm out, ushering the younger girl forward.

"…Or we could just break in" Kami mumbled, rushing up the steps to join her.

"Malcolm, if you're in here you better come out with your hands up!" Kami called out, as the pair walked into the main room.

"Or don't…I could do with a good hunt" Maze smirked, earning a nudge in the ribs from Kami.

"Looks like he's been busy since coming back from the dead. Who needs five waffle makers?" Kami scoffed, her eyes widening when she saw how the house was filled to brim with newly bought devices.

"I didn't realise cops made so much money, you think they're hiring?" Maze suggested.

"They definitely don't make enough to buy all this. Malcolm must be a shitload of debt by now" Kami replied, whipping around when she heard a door creaking open.

A second later she heard the familiar click of a gun, and without a second thought was pushing Maze to the ground, falling on top of the older woman with a thump. A couch pillow nearby seemed to explode as a bullet whizzed past them, causing Kami to flinch. A sly grin grew on Maze's face at the action, seeming far too pleased with their current position.

"Sorry" Kami exclaimed, worried she might have bruised Maze from falling on top of her.

"I didn't realise you wanted to be on top so badly" Maze winked at her, as Kami had to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing at Maze's ridiculous behaviour.

"Not the time, Maze" Kami stated, as another bullet whizzed over them, hitting the wall this time.

"Later then" Maze smirked, as she grabbed Kami by the hips and effortlessly flipped them over, so that she was now on top.

Kami felt herself flush, a blush creeping up her cheeks as Maze's eyes dipped down to her lips for a split-second. Another gunshot had Maze reluctantly pushing herself off Kami, an irritated look on her face. With a hard kick, Maze sent a stack of boxes toppling over, seemingly falling on top of whoever was firing at them. When no retaliation came after a few seconds, Maze turned back to Kami and held her hand out from the brunette to take. Kami gratefully took the offered hand, as Maze hauled her upright, letting her touch linger for longer than necessary.

"He's not with you?" A terrified voice stuttered, as the pair pushed a pile of boxes out of their way.

They soon found an older black-haired woman on the floor, a shotgun beside her, her hands visibly shaking. She looked like was on the verge of a mental breakdown, not appearing much of a threat.

"Please tell me he's not with you" The woman whimpered, bringing her legs up to her chest, letting out a sob.

"He's not. You're his wife, right? Mel?" Kami frowned, as the woman's head snapped up.

"I…I'm sorry for shooting at you. I thought you were my husband" She admitted, slowly pushing herself to her feet, leaving the gun by her feet.

"Either you guys have a really intense type of foreplay, or I'm missing something here" Kami pointed out, as Mel let out a long sigh.

"Ever since he almost died, he's been different. Strange…I can't describe it" Mel told them, trying to calm her erratic breathing.

"He has a newfound appetite. An insatiable hunger he can't seem to fill" Maze suggested, earning a scoff from Mel.

"That's how it started, but now? It's worse. It's so much worse" Mel went on, making Maze frown.

"What do you mean?" Kami asked.

"It started with nightmares; he would wake up screaming…I'd never seen him so afraid. He couldn't shake what he saw the whole day. And then…he said it was like the dreams started to bleed into reality. He was feverish, confused, he started having these strange muscle spasms…I took him to the doctors; thought he was having some sort of breakdown…" Mel trailed off.

"What did they say?" Kami questioned.

"They thought it was rabies" Mel scoffed, with a shake of her head.

"Rabies?" Kami pushed, quirking an eyebrow.

"All his test results came back negative. They have no idea what's wrong with him" Mel cried, running a hand over her face.

"He's dangerous, Mel. But something tells me you've already realised that…" Kami trailed off, her eyes flickering to the gun on the floor.

"He came by earlier today. He wanted money. Cleaned our joint bank account out, but he said that still wasn't enough. He wanted me to sign to sell the house, and when I refused…" Mel choked up, tears welling in her eyes.

"He said he'd kill our children" Mel sobbed, as Kami's eyes went wide.

"I know he's not a good man. He wasn't even before all this but…he was a good father. How…how could he say something like that?" Mel shook her head, as Kami felt a pang of sympathy for her.

"Hey, nothing is going to happen to your kids, okay? We're gonna' stop him" Kami insisted, as Mel slowly nodded.

"You want some help with that?" A familiar voice announced, as Kami's eyes snapped up to the broken front door, finding a familiar blonde standing there.

"Chlo, what are you doing here?" Kami frowned, as her sister walked towards them.

"I'm here to help prove Lucifer's innocence" Chloe informed them, as Maze huffed.

"It's a little late for that. You betrayed him" Maze spat out, an angry look in her eyes.

"I know…but this is the only way I can think of to help him now" Chloe explained, as Kami let out a sigh.

"You know he's gonna' make you grovel, right?" Kami stated, as Chloe's lips twitched into a smile.

"Okay, thanks Dan. We'll meet you there, bring backup" Chloe spoke into her phone, as Maze and Kami leaned against the car.

"A lead?" Kami questioned.

"A surprising one at that. Lucifer came to find Dan and they've figured out Malcolm's next move. Sounds like he's going to a drug dealer called Tommy. His base of operations isn't far" Chloe explained, as Kami nodded, going to open the car door.

"Kami, I…I need to talk to you about something. It's about Palmetto" Chloe exclaimed, as Kami's forehead wrinkled.

"Can't it wait until—" Kami began but was quickly cut off by Chloe.

"Dan was working with Malcolm before Palmetto. They weren't exactly playing by the book. Dan got in over his head, and then Palmetto happened…he was the one who shot Malcolm" Chloe went on, as Kami's mouth went slack.

"What?! But…but why didn't he say anything?" Kami gaped.

"Because Malcolm has been blackmailing him. He gave Malcolm the gun that he used to shoot the preacher. They've been working together" Chloe stated, as a realisation hit Kami.

"That son of a bitch" Kami muttered, her hands balled into fists, as she remembered how he had kissed her when she had started to question Malcolm's intentions.

"I'm sorry, Kami. I know you used to like him" Chloe exclaimed, as Kami grimaced.

"Trust me, that ship has fucking sailed" Kami spat out, with a scowl.

Anger was still boiling through Kami's veins as they entered the old brewery that Tommy, the drug dealer, was supposedly working out of. It was clear they were in the right place when they found a dozen injured men, who had been armed to the teeth, passed out or dead on the floor.

"You think this was Lucifer and Amenadiel?" Kami frowned, amazed that they had been able to fight the men off.

"Where do you think I learnt my moves from?" Maze smirked.

"We better split up, otherwise we'll never find Malcolm in time. I'll go east, you two go west" Chloe announced, as Kami nodded.

"Be careful" She warned, as Chloe rushed off, taking her gun out of its holster.

A gurgling sound from nearby had Kami rushing forward, finding one of the drug dealers was choking on their own blood, the red substance bubbling over their lips. Without a second thought, she rolled them over into the recovery position, tilting their neck to keep their airway open as the blood spilt out onto the floor. She then crouched down to pick up their discarded gun, taking the safety off.

"Why did you do that?" Maze asked, seeming confused why she had helped the bleeding man.

"He would have died" Kami pointed out, but she could see her response still didn't satisfy Maze.

"It just…felt like the right thing to do I guess. I didn't want to see someone die for no reason" Kami explained, as she went to pick up another man's discarded gun and give it to Maze.

"Keep it. I don't need a weapon" Maze replied, as Kami placed the smaller gun into the waistband of her jeans.

"Chlo was right about how big this place is. I think we should split up too" Kami advised, as Maze's forehead wrinkled.

"You shouldn't be on your own here" Maze stated, as Kami quirked an eyebrow.

"You let Chloe go" Kami retorted, as Maze shrugged.

"Well…I don't have a date to finish with her, do I?" Maze mumbled, looking a little embarrassed.

"Are you saying you care about me, Maze?" Kami said, with a teasing smile.

"I don't think I actually used that word—" Maze began, as Kami cut her off with a nudge.

"Don't worry, I can take care of myself. I'll meet you back here in ten if I don't find him first" Kami exclaimed, as she went to rush away, when Maze called after her.

"Aren't you worried about me being on my own here?" Maze pointed out, as Kami turned back with a grin.

"It's Malcolm who should be worried if he goes up against you" Kami smirked, as Maze's lips twitched into a smile.

After feeling like she had been walking around in circles for almost ten minutes, Kami was glad when she spotted a familiar figure in the distance. Amenadiel was on the ground floor, his eyes darting around, not seeing Kami on the metal walkway above him. Neither did he see Malcolm hiding around the next corner, a sharp dagger in his hand, which Kami realised was one of Maze's own. She instantly pulled her gun out, levelling the gun to Malcolm's head, as she took a deep breath. Just as Malcolm lunged forward, ready to stab Amenadiel with the dagger, a bullet struck him in the shoulder, causing him to stumble. The dagger still struck Amenadiel in the arm, but the wound appeared superficial, much to Kami's relief. She ducked just in time as Malcolm began shooting back at her, his aim much better, as one bullet missed her head by mere inches. He went to sprint in the other direction, as Kami climbed over the metal walkway and dropped to her knees. Instead of rushing after Malcolm, she made a beeline for Amenadiel, who was looking faint.

"Are you okay?" Kami questioned.

"You…you saved my life" Amenadiel exclaimed, as Kami gave him a small smile.

"Yeah, it seems to be a trend today. C'mon, we need to get you to a hospital" Kami advised, as Amenadiel opened his mouth to respond.

"I've got him" Maze announced, sneaking up behind Kami.

"He needs to get stitched up—" Kami began, but Maze cut her off.

"I'll get him the help he needs. You should go, Malcolm's headed towards Chloe" Maze pointed out, as Kami frowned.

Something told her Maze wasn't planning on taking Amenadiel to the hospital, but she couldn't understand why. The police were after Lucifer, not his brother, and besides, it was more important he get treatment for his wound. No. There was another reason why she didn't want him to go to the hospital. Yet another secret, Kami thought to herself.

Instead of finding Malcolm or Chloe, Kami soon ran into the police, all of whom had a lot of questions for her. Just as she was getting ready to tell them where they could shove their questions, Dan pushed himself to the front of the crowd, a relieved look on his face.

"Hey, are you—" Dan was cut off, as Kami sent a punch to his face, splitting his lip open instantly.

"You fucking asshole!" Kami cried, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.

"I'm guessing Chloe told you…" Dan trailed off, wiping some blood away from his lip.

"Yeah, she did. Because you didn't have the balls to do it" Kami spat out, shoving him backwards, roughly.

"Kami, I never wanted to hurt you" Dan exclaimed, as she scoffed.

"Oh, save it. I don't want to hear your excuses. You had a choice, Dan. You chose to use me" Kami insisted, as Dan looked down at the floor, a guilty expression on his face.

"I'm sorry. That's all I can say" Dan sighed.

"Did you even like me, huh? Or was it all just to keep me quiet?" Kami exclaimed, as Dan shook his head.

"I…I don't know. I just didn't want you to get hurt, okay? I thought I was protecting you" Dan told her.

"You know what? You've done me a favour. Cause' I know now that I deserve a hell of a lot better than you" Kami scoffed, as she went to turn away.

"Kami, wait—" Dan began, not happy to leave things as they were.

"And you, Dan…you deserve everything you get" Kami muttered, shoving him away from her, as she saw Chloe and Lucifer approaching.

"I suggest you back away if you want to keep your hands, Daniel" Lucifer warned, coming to stand by Kami's side, as the man in question let go of Kami's arm.

"I'm gonna' make it up to you. All of you" Dan insisted.

"How'd you plan to do that?" Kami questioned.

"I'm handing myself in. Proving Lucifer's innocence once and for all" Dan told them, as surprise washed over Kami's face.

Back at the station, Dan had stuck to his word, admitting to his crimes, and was quickly taken away by officers. Now their only problem was finding Malcolm. And Chloe…who had disappeared at some point while Dan was arrested. Kami soon found her sister in her car, hands gripping the steering wheel, a duffel bag in the backseat. Without a word, Kami ripped open the back door and went to open the duffel bag despite her sister's protests. She was shocked when she found it was filled to the brim with money and knew instantly what Chloe was planning to do.

"What's he done?" Kami asked, knowing Malcolm must have somehow been blackmailing Chloe.

"He has Trixie" Chloe cried, with a shake of her head.

Horror grew on Kami's face as the blonde's words sunk in. Malcolm would have no issue with hurting Trixie, they both knew that. He would kill her if he needed to. Kami pushed herself out of the backseat, before opening Chloe's door and pulling her sister into a tight hug, feeling how she was shaking beneath her.

"I can't lose her, Kami" Chloe sobbed, gripping onto the younger girl tightly.

"You won't. I promise" Kami insisted, hoping she sounded more confident than she felt.

"He wants you" Chloe admitted, as Kami pulled away with a frown.

"What?" She queried.

"He wants me to bring the money…and you" Chloe explained, as Kami audibly gulped.

"…We better get going then" Kami replied, standing upright.

"I have a better plan" A familiar voice boomed from behind Kami, as she whipped around.

"I go meet Malcolm and tear his head off" Lucifer suggested, a dark look in his eyes.

"I'm guessing you heard all that" Kami sighed, as Lucifer nodded sharply.

"He said if he sees you, he'll kill Trixie. We can't take that chance" Chloe told him, as Lucifer shook his head, refusing to let the pair get themselves hurt…or killed.

"Trix comes before anything else. Even us…right?" Kami insisted, placing her hand on Lucifer's shoulder.

"But—" Lucifer started, but was quickly cut off by Kami.

"Please, Luce. I need you to trust me, okay?" Kami all but begged, her eyes boring into his.

"I do" Lucifer nodded, sadly.

"I'll be back" Kami smiled at him, squeezing his shoulder, as Lucifer's lips twitched upwards despite himself.

He would let the pair go. A ten-minute start wouldn't hurt. But if Kami thought he'd really let them walk into danger alone, she was going to get a shock, Lucifer thought to himself.

Kami took a deep breath as she exited the car, having been driven to their destination by Chloe. A pair of handcuffs kept her hands locked behind her back, as per Malcolm's request. Kami's heart was thumping loudly in her chest as Chloe came to stand beside her, letting out a shaky breath when she saw Malcolm and Trixie come into view.

"Trixie" Chloe cried, wanting nothing more than to rush forward, by her eyes quickly found the gun in Malcolm's hand.

"Alright, easy, Decker. Don't do anything stupid" Malcolm advised, his grip on Trixie's arm tight.

"Can we go home now, Mommy?" Trixie questioned, in a small voice.

"Yes, monkey. We can" Chloe sniffled, as Malcolm's attention turned to Kami.

"I'm glad you came alone…and did as I asked. Now toss your guns, both of them" Malcolm announced, as Chloe did as she was told, not taking any chances.

"And the key to her cuffs" Malcolm added, as Kami tensed, watching as her sister complied with the order, chucking them onto the floor.

"Where's the money?" Malcolm asked, as Chloe shook her head.

"Not without Trixie" Chloe retorted.

"Oh c'mon, Decker—" Malcolm began, but Kami quickly cut him off.

"A trade. Me for Trixie. Right now" Kami suggested, as Malcolm pursed his lips, before shoving Trixie forward a moment later.

The small girl ran towards her Aunt who rushed forward to meet her, desperate to get her out of harms way. Trixie wrapped her arms around Kami's waist, her bottom lip wobbling, looking absolutely terrified. Kami wished she could wrap her arms around Trixie, but all she could do was give her a reassuring smile.

"Go to your Mommy, Trix" Kami told her, as Trixie looked up at her with wide eyes.

"What about you?" Trixie frowned.

"I'll be fine. It's alright. Go on" Kami insisted, as Trixie nodded, letting go and sprinting into her mother's arms, who was waiting already, crouched on the floor.

"How touching" Malcolm muttered, as he lunged forward, grabbing Kami by the hair and pulling her towards him.

"Now, where's my fucking money?" Malcolm exclaimed, his eyes on Chloe, the gun still in his other hand.

With a long sigh, Chloe stood to her feet and used her keys to open the trunk of her car, the duffel bag full of money inside. She pushed Trixie behind her, knowing just how unstable Malcolm was.

"You've got what you wanted. My sister and niece walk free" Kami told him, as Malcolm huffed out a laugh.

"I don't think you're really in the position to be making demands" Malcolm stated, gripping her hair tighter.

"I…I know what's wrong with you. I…I see now. Just like you said. I'll tell you everything I know, but you let them go" Kami explained, as Chloe frowned in confusion, not sure what Kami's game was.

"Bullshit—" Malcolm began, but she cut him off.

"I know about your dreams. I know why you're having them. I can help you" Kami insisted, feeling Malcolm tense for a moment.

"…Go on then. You two better run" Malcolm advised, turning his attention back to Chloe and Trixie.

"Kami, don't do this" Chloe cried, not wanting to leave her sister.

"I told you I wouldn't let you won't lose Trixie. This is the only way" Kami exclaimed, as Chloe let out a sob.

"Mommy, I'm scared" Trixie whimpered, beginning to realise the situation she was in, as she grabbed Chloe's hand.

"I'm sorry" Chloe mumbled, before giving Trixie's hand a quick squeeze and pulling her away, expecting Malcolm to start firing at any moment.

"All alone again, huh?" Malcolm grinned, tugging at Kami's hair with glee.

"Why did you want me here?" Kami asked, the question playing on her mind the entire encounter.

"Because you did this to me!" Malcolm spat out, spinning her around so that his hands were gripping her shoulders.

"I haven't done anything to you" Kami retorted.

"Stop this…right now" Malcolm exclaimed, pulling away to raise the gun to Kami's head, whose eyes widened with fear.

"Malcolm, listen to me. You're sick. I don't know if it's some infection or—" Kami started, but he stopped her.

"You made me like this! You!" Malcolm yelled, pressing the gun against her forehead.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Kami replied, her hands beginning to shake behind her back.

"…You really don't, do you? You fucking bitch, you played me" Malcolm realised, before slamming the handle of the gun against Kami's head, shoving her to her knees.

"If I kill you, will it stop? Will I be free?" Malcolm frowned, as a wave of dizziness hit Kami.

"Mel said your dreams…your nightmares…you started seeing them in real life…" Kami stuttered, feeling blood drip down her head.

"I can't get it out of my head" Malcolm muttered, itching at his scalp, his nails scratching hard enough to break the skin.

"What is it? What are you seeing?" Kami pushed.

"…You. I close my eyes…and I see you" Malcolm confessed, seeing how Kami faltered.

"What?" She questioned, confusion etched over her features.

"It just started as dreams. Nightmares. I was all alone, in the darkness…and then you were there. Laughing. Always fucking laughing. And then I started to hear it when I woke up…all the time. It doesn't stop…why won't you stop?!" Malcolm yelled, raising his gun to her head again.

"It's not me" Kami shook her head, scrunching her eyes shut.

"You really have lost it, haven't you?" Lucifer's voice echoed over the room, as Kami's head whipped around to see him approaching.

"I told you to stay away" Kami scolded.

"And I did…until Trixie was safe" Lucifer pointed out, as she pursed her lips angrily.

"I guess I'll just have to kill the both of you then" Malcolm muttered, raising his gun to aim at Lucifer.

"He has nothing to do with this" Kami gritted out, pushing herself to her feet.

"This cretin is threatening the life of someone I care about…it has everything to do with me" Lucifer spat out, coming to stand beside her.

"She'll ruin you" Malcolm exclaimed, taking the safety off the gun.

"I'll take my chances. Every time" Lucifer replied, his eyes flickering to Kami's.

"It's your funeral" Malcolm muttered, his finger flexing against the trigger.

"I know what you really want, Malcolm. Deep in that rotten soul of yours…you want to live. That's your greatest desire, isn't it?" Lucifer suggested, taking a step forward, making Kami nervous.

"I do…More than almost everything" Malcolm admitted.

"Almost?" Lucifer frowned, as Kami noticed the change in Malcolm's expression.

Without a second thought, Kami was shoving Lucifer to the floor with her elbow, almost toppling over herself. There was a loud bang a moment later, as a sharp pain shot through her stomach, causing Kami to stumble backwards. Her eyes flickered down to see blood pooling underneath her shirt, as she let out a choked cry. Her knees crumbled underneath her a second later, only being caught by Lucifer just before she flopped to the floor. He pulled her into his arms, his hand immediately going to the bullet wound, trying to stem the bleeding.

"No, no, no, no..." Lucifer choked out, pulling her tightly against him.

"You see, if it wasn't for you, Lucifer...none of this would have happened. Your brother wouldn't have dragged me out of hell, she would have never gotten into my head. I wanted to show you what dying felt like, to make you feel the pain I felt, but I just realised something...making you watch her die...that's the hell you really deserve" Malcolm grinned, as Lucifer shook his head furiously, his eyes wide with panic.
