"Maze, how nice of you to finally show up" Lucifer muttered when he saw the demon in question walk into his penthouse.

He had left her numerous messages saying they needed to talk, that it was a matter of life and death…but that had been hours ago. Lucifer was so used to Maze turning up with nothing more than a click of his fingers, and he wasn't sure he liked the change. Maze didn't bother glancing in his direction, simply heading towards the bar and pouring herself a glass of whiskey. With a smirk, she then turned to him, looking far too smug for Lucifer's liking.

"I quit" She announced, before taking a sip of her drink.

"I beg your pardon?" Lucifer frowned.

"I quit. I'm not going to be your lackey anymore. And I'm not serving anymore of these snotty humans at Lux. I hate it" Maze exclaimed, as Lucifer's mouth went slack.

"And you plan to do what instead?" Lucifer scoffed.

"I don't know yet. That's the point. Seeing as you made the decision for both of us that we're staying on Earth…I need to figure out where I fit in" Maze explained, as Lucifer's gaze softened a little.

"I'm guessing that's with Kami?" Lucifer asked, as a small smile spread over Maze's lips.

"She sees me as a person, not her servant. I appreciate that" Maze pointed out.

"Except she doesn't know the real you, does she, Mazikeen? I'm not sure she'd be thrilled to find out she was dating a demon from the depths of hell" Lucifer retorted.

Maze stiffened at his comment, her eyes narrowing, wondering if the comment was a threat or not. Surely he wouldn't actually reveal their identity, he was friends with Kami too, after all.

"Well, we both have things to lose if she finds out the truth, don't we?" Maze stated, as Lucifer gave a curt nod.

"So, did you simply come here to tear me a new one or have you heard about my Mother's return?" Lucifer questioned.

"It's true then? Mama Morningstar's back in town? I never could break that woman…maybe I have a second chance now" Maze grinned.

"That's not all I'm afraid. Raum came to speak with me today" Lucifer informed her, as Maze tilted her head.

"That snivelling disgrace of a demon? What did he want, other than to kiss your ass, as usual?" Maze huffed, taking another sip of her whiskey.

"There are souls disappearing from hell, Maze" Lucifer announced, as the woman practically choked on her drink.

"What the fuck does that mean?" Maze insisted.

"Souls are being ripped out of their hell loop and simply…vanishing. I thought my mother might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure if even she would be powerful enough…" Lucifer trailed off.

"What is powerful enough?" Maze frowned.

"I don't know. But there's something else" Lucifer sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"The souls started disappearing at the same time that Kami was brought back to life. I certainly don't think that's a coincidence, do you?" Lucifer stated, a rare expression on his face.

"You're scared?" Maze realised, with wide eyes.

"I think we should all be" Lucifer mumbled, as Maze approached him, holding out her glass of whiskey.

"I think you need this more than me" She pointed out, as Lucifer gratefully to the drink from her hand.

"Perhaps your right, Mazikeen. Maybe it is time our relationship became more…equal" Lucifer agreed, quickly finishing off the whiskey.

"Really?" Maze replied, surprised at his accepting reaction.

"Well…you were a pretty shit bartender anyway" Lucifer shrugged, as the pair shared a laugh.

The next day, Kami's mind had been stuck on the murder of Jillian, feeling sure that there was something obvious they were missing. If only they could figure out who Amy Dodd's drug dealer was…it had to be someone who had a connection to both girls. With a shake of her head, Kami dialled her sister's number, who picked up almost immediately.

"I've been thinking, maybe we need to look more into Jillian's personal life? Did she live with anyone?" Kami asked.

"Hello to you too, Kami. And no, she lived on her own. Rented from a set nurse for the last four years" Chloe replied, catching Kami's attention.

"A set nurse? What, from the show Amy Dodd was in?" Kami frowned.

"Yeah. The nurse got her the job on the show I think" Chloe mumbled, piquing Kami's interest further.

"So, this woman knew both girls?" Kami insisted, as Chloe stayed silent for a few moments.

"…You think she could be the drug dealer?" Chloe gaped.

"She has the connections. Hell, maybe the whole reason she got Jillian the job was to keep Amy, her best customer in line! And…well, she's a nurse, Chlo. Trust me, there has to be something wrong with her" Kami explained.

"You're a nurse too, you know" Chloe scoffed.

"Exactly my point. Send me the address of this nurse, I'll check it out" Kami suggested, not needing to see Chloe to know she was shaking her head.

"No. I will check it out, with backup and my gun" Chloe told her, as Kami pursed her lips.

"Alright, Chlo. Whatever you say" Kami mumbled, making Chloe suspicious.

"Don't do anything stupid" Chloe warned.

"When do I ever?" Kami huffed, before hanging up the call, and immediately pulling her laptop into her lap.

"Sorry, sister, but I don't think we have time for you to get a warrant" Kami muttered, already hacking into the police database, pleased to see they hadn't put up any more firewalls since she had last hacked in.

"Like stealing candy from a baby" Kami smirked, as she entered Jillian's name into the system, and quickly found the address of the nurse she had been renting from.

When Kami arrived at the house, she was surprised to find the pink front door was left ajar and could hear someone groaning from inside. Without a second thought, she rushed into the house, coming to a halt when she saw a large woman choking Lucifer with a poker stick. The pair didn't seem to notice her presence, as she snuck up behind them. Her eyes darted around the house for a weapon but came up short, as they were standing in between her and the kitchen. Her gaze soon fell on a landline phone, an idea coming to her. She grabbed the phone cord and lunged forward, wrapping the wiring around the large woman's neck and gave a hard tug. Her hands instantly fell away from the poker stick, now trying to pull the cord away from the fragile skin of her neck. Not seeming one to give up, the woman suddenly sent her elbow flying backwards, hitting Kami in the face, forcing her to stumble backwards. The woman whipped around quickly, kicking out at Kami, managing to hit her in the stomach, pushing her to the floor. Kami only narrowly missed being stabbed with the poker stick, which the woman had immediately retrieved.

"Jesus Christ, who is this? The Terminator?" Kami muttered, rolling onto her side.

The woman tried to hit her again with the poker stick, missing Kami by a few inches, as the sharp end of the poker got stuck in the floorboards. This gave Kami enough time to get to her feet, suddenly feeling a shooting pain in her abdomen. Her eyes flickered down to see blood pooling underneath her shirt, the stitches likely having re-opened. A wave of dizziness hit her a second later, as she fought to stay upright. In that time, the woman had managed to get the poker stick free and was about to lunge at the younger girl. All of a sudden, Lucifer's hand grabbed the woman's neck, raising her off her feet and sent her flying through a nearby wall. Kami's mouth hung open as she watched bricks crumble from the impact, falling on top of the woman, who was completely motionless. Lucifer seemed stunned by his own actions, looking down at his hands, and then back at the shattered wall. Kami stumbled forward, having to throw a few bricks off the woman to get to her head, which was cut and bleeding. She reached out to feel for her pulse, noting how the woman's chest wasn't rising. She slowly turned back to Lucifer and gave a shake of her head. Lucifer's eyes darted around in shock, looking sick to his stomach.

"I killed her…I killed a human…" Lucifer gaped, in a stuttering tone.

He had broken his Father's rule. His golden rule. What punishment would follow? What had he done?

Kami gave him a look of sympathy, able to decipher his internal battle, knowing that Lucifer had never meant to kill the woman. He had wanted to save Kami, and he had. She looked back down to the deceased woman, debating on whether it was worth trying to give CPR. A dark part of her mind didn't want to…hell, she even felt glad the woman was dead. With a shake of her head, she began pushing a few more bricks out of the way, and grabbed the woman's shoulder, wanting to pull her out of the rubble.

"Lucifer, maybe we can—" Kami was cut off, by a loud gasping beside her.

She jumped back in fright when she saw the woman's eyes were wide open, staring up at her. All of a sudden, the woman let out an ear-piercing scream, her arms flying about in a panic, as Kami fell onto her back. Lucifer was by her side in an instant, pulling her to her feet as they stared at the woman who had been dead only a few seconds ago. She seemed to be falling into a fit, practically foaming from the mouth as she shook. She was like a person possessed, with nothing but madness behind her eyes, letting out growls rather than words.

"She…she was dead…" Kami trailed off, panic clawing at her.

"…I think there may be something very wrong in Hell" Lucifer announced, with a gulp.

The pair watched from where they were sitting in an ambulance as the woman, who Kami now knew was Roberta, the set nurse, was dragged out of the house. She seemed to have had a miraculous recovery despite being covered in lacerations and having enough bruising to her spine to have at least caused a fracture. Yet there she was, able to walk out of the house. None of it made any sense to Kami. Roberta's behaviour was certainly far from normal, however, as she hadn't been able to form a coherent sentence since coming back to life. She barely even seemed human anymore from the way she was shouting and screaming manically, her eyes full of something that made Kami uncomfortable. The woman all but barked at the pair as she was led away, making Kami flinch.

"She had no pulse, Lucifer. You didn't see what her body looked like, the impact of hitting that wall alone should have snapped her neck!" Kami exclaimed.

"Well, I for one am happy it didn't" Lucifer sighed, a guilty look on his face.

"I've seen delirium after a cardiac arrest before, but that…I've never seen that look in someone's eyes" Kami shook her head.

"How long does this delirium usually last?" Lucifer questioned, making Kami shrug.

"A few hours, days, months. How long is a piece of string really" Kami replied, running a hand over her face.

"Are you alright?" Lucifer frowned, his eyes flickering to her now bandaged stomach.

"Honestly? I don't know. I feel like the world's just spinning out of control recently. I don't understand why these things keep happening" Kami admitted, as Lucifer looked to the ground.

"It's my fault" Lucifer mumbled, in a guilty tone.

"No. It's not. You saved me" Kami insisted, reaching out to place her hand over his own.

"You saved me first. Not for the first time either" Lucifer pointed out, a small smile on his face.

"…How did you do it though? I mean, you broke a wall, Lucifer. You're strong but…you shouldn't be that strong" Kami frowned, as Lucifer's smile dropped instantly.

"I suppose it must be shitty American buildings. The wall was probably paper-thin" Lucifer suggested, but Kami didn't seem convinced.

"That woman alone must have weighed at least 250 pounds, so how did you—" Kami's question was cut off by a familiar voice.

"Seriously?! I tell you not to do anything stupid and you do this?" Chloe yelled, angrily as she approached the pair.

"I thought I could handle it" Kami murmured, as Chloe shook her head furiously.

"Does this look handled to you?" Chloe exclaimed, gesturing to her re-opened wound.

"I'm sorry, okay? I…I fucked up—" Kami began, but Lucifer was quick to cut her off.

"She saved my life, Detective. I believe that earns some thanks" Lucifer pointed out.

"Your just as much to blame as she is, Lucifer! You've been doing this long enough to follow protocol. You should damn well know better!" Chloe insisted, as Lucifer hung his head in shame.

"At least the killer didn't get away, right?" Kami suggested.

"It sounds like she's going straight to the hospital. She's going to be sedated until they can figure out what's wrong with her" Chloe replied.

"They won't find anything" Lucifer sighed, pushing himself to his feet.

"What makes you say that?" Chloe frowned.

"I need to speak to my brother" Lucifer muttered, before walking away without another word.

"…I'm sorry if I was too hard on you, I just…I almost lost you a few days ago and now this? What's going on with you, Kami?" Chloe stated, as the younger girl huffed out a laugh.

"Your guess is as good as mine, Chlo" Kami admitted, dropping her head into her hands.

The next morning, Kami had decided the best course of action was her usual response to any sort of trauma. Denial. If she acted like something hadn't happened, eventually, even her mind might forget it. With that thought in mind, she forced a smile on her face when she saw an incoming call from Maze on her phone, remembering they had pre-arranged plans to meet that morning. Chloe had left home in the early hours, a new case already having come up. A young nineteen-year-old boy had been found dead, with a maid, in a hotel room, and the only evidence left behind was a corporate mobile phone and expensive heels. The whole case seemed strange, but Chloe clearly didn't think Kami was in the right mindset to get involved.

"Hey, you" Kami grinned, accepting the call from Maze.

"Lucifer told me what happened yesterday. Are you okay?" Maze asked, in a hushed voice.

"I'm…dealing with it. Why are you whispering?" Kami questioned.

"I, uh…I'm at Lux" Maze admitted, making Kami frown.

"I thought you said you wanted to quit your job?" Kami pointed out, growing confused.

"I agreed to do one last shift" Maze told her, as Kami pursed her lips.

"Still doesn't really explain why you're whispering—" Kami began, but was cut off by a female voice in the background of the phone call.

"Why are you speaking into that strange device, Mazikeen?" The female voice inquired, before being shushed aggressively by Maze.

"Who was that?" Kami inquired.

"Just a customer" Maze replied, far too quickly.

"I most certainly am not!" The female voice huffed in the background.

"Maze, what's going on?" Kami insisted, her suspicions growing.

"Nothing! It's just uh, really busy at the bar right now so I've got to cancel our date—" Maze began, but Kami stopped her.

"It's 11am, why would Lux be busy?" Kami pointed out.

"Right…" Maze trailed off, before Kami heard a smashing sound from the other end before the line went dead.

"…Did she just smash her phone?" Kami murmured, in disbelief.

Meanwhile, at Lux, Maze looked down at the shattered remains off her phone, which she had been hitting against the bar counter until it had crumbled to pieces. With a sigh, she turned to the blonde who was standing next to her, who had a confused look on her face. Lucifer was really going to owe her one for forcing her to babysit his mother.

"Ah, so that's how you hang up a phone call" The Goddess exclaimed, with a nod, making Maze roll her eyes.

Kami couldn't help but let out an amused scoff when she saw the look of shock on Lucifer's face when he all but bumped into her at the law firm that he believed was connected to their latest case. In response, Kami simply held up her phone, as he leaned in to see it was a Twitter account, called LuciferDailyUpdates, which stated that his car had been seen twenty minutes ago outside the building they were now in.

"You sure do have a lot of fans, Lucifer. Well, stalkers really" Kami exclaimed, as Lucifer shrugged simply.

"Who can blame them? They know perfection when they see it" Lucifer grinned, as Kami huffed out a laugh.

"Careful, mate. I think your head might be too big to fit through the doorway" Kami teased.

"Well, that's not the only big thing about me—" Lucifer began, but Kami was quick to stop him.

"Wow, you're really on fire today, aren't you?" Kami shook her head, fondly.

"I'm always on my A-game" Lucifer smirked, sending a wink her way.

"Alright, down boy. I am dating your best friend, remember? Speaking of Maze…what have you roped her into?" Kami asked, as Lucifer's smirk fell quickly.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Lucifer said, innocently.

"Uh-huh, maybe I should head to Lux then, ask her myself?" Kami suggested, taking a step back to show she was serious.

"Now, now. No need to be rash. Maze is simply helping me with a…family matter. Besides, I need your help with this case. It's important" Lucifer exclaimed, bringing his arm around her waist to rest on the small of her back and ushering her forward.

"Where's Chlo?" Kami inquired, noticing the blonde was nowhere to be seen.

"Having another argument with Detective Douche. They really should think about how this could be affecting the people around them" Lucifer scolded, as they walked into a large office.

"Trixie has been taking it pretty hard" Kami agreed.

"Trixie? I meant me!" Lucifer insisted, as Kami rolled her eyes in amusement.

"So, what are you doing here anyway?" Kami inquired, as Lucifer turned away from her, puffing out his chest.

"Attention, lawyers! Hello! Hello. Attention, please. Uh, now, does anyone recognize this critical piece of evidence found at a gruesome crime scene?" Lucifer exclaimed, waving a phone around in a plastic bag.

"Yeah. See? That's our corporate-issue phone. We all have one. That could be anybody's" A blond middle-aged man stated.

"Right. What about this Louboutin power pump with the ombré finish in a size, uh...seven? Six, U.K" Lucifer added.

"There is no way anyone is going to recognise—" Kami started, but was cut off by a man's voice.

"Oh, my God. Th-That's Charlotte's shoe. Is she okay?" An attractive man gaped, as Lucifer gave Kami a smug grin.

Ten minutes later, the pair were sitting in their latest suspects office, who they now knew was called Bradley, asking him how he knew the owner of the shoe. So far, the man didn't exactly seem like a hitman. But looks could be deceiving, Kami reasoned.

"Richards. Charlotte Richards. She's the owner of this firm. When she didn't come into the office, I just...assumed she was out of town on a case" Bradley explained.

"Was this man involved in any of those cases, by chance?" Lucifer inquired, showing a picture of their dead victim.

"Oh, my God, is he...?" Bradley trailed off, looking like he was about to throw up.

"Dead as a doornail. Yes. Or in this case, a door screw, 'cause the hole in his neck's from a screwdriver" Lucifer replied, in a joking tone.

"My colleague of course means that in a completely respectful way" Kami muttered, stamping down on Lucifer's foot who let out a loud cry.

"Do you recognise the man?" Kami asked, a moment later, getting a shake of Bradley's head.

"Alright, when was the last time you saw Charlotte?" Kami pushed, when the man suddenly began bawling his eyes out, his whole face contorted.

"I did this! Oh, Charlotte, I'm so sorry!" Bradley sobbed, messily.

"Wasn't expecting that reaction" Kami mumbled, under her breath.

All right, Bradley, listen up, 'cause I've got personal trust issues at stake here. Brad, look at me…Did you want Charlotte gone?" Lucifer asked, leaning forward as he stared intently into the man's eyes.

Kami flinched as her ear suddenly began to ring, clutching at her head as Bradley seemed to fall into a trance. His mouth went slack, and his eyes went out of focus. It seemed he would have done anything Lucifer said at that moment.

"No…No. That's the last thing I wanted" Bradley confessed.

"Right. Then what do you desire?" Lucifer insisted, as Bradley began to stutter over his words.

"T-To be with Charlotte. We were in love" Bradley told them, as the pair shared a look.

Kami realised with a frown her ear had stopped ringing as quickly as it had started and noticed that Bradley seemed to have come back to reality. Was it possible Lucifer really was able to hypnotise people?

"Uh, Brad. Her blood was found in a hotel room with this man, I don't exactly think they were playing monopoly" Kami pointed out, as Bradley shook his head.

"No. We were completely monogamous…she wouldn't even sleep with her own husband" Bradley informed them, as Kami's eyes all but popped out of her head.

"She was married already?" Kami frowned.

"Yeah, but she hated that guy" Bradley dismissed.

"Sounds like every marriage I've ever heard of" Lucifer grinned, as Kami stood to her feet and began ushering Lucifer out of the room.

"Oh god, do you think he had something to do with it? Oh Charlotte, why didn't I protect you?" Bradley began sobbing again, as Kami picked up a box of tissues.

"There, there, Bradus" Lucifer mumbled, grabbing a tissue from the box and throwing it in the man's face.

Kami then grabbed Lucifer's elbow, dragging him out of the room as Bradley blew his nose on the tissue, showing no sign of stopping crying anytime soon. Once the pair were outside, Kami raised an eyebrow at the older man, a suspicious look on her face.

"What was that in there?" Kami inquired.

"What, did you expect me to mop up that man-child's tears?" Lucifer scoffed, as she crossed her arms.

"No, I mean your whole eye thing. The…hypnosis or whatever the hell it is that you do" Kami clarified.

"It got us answers, didn't it?" Lucifer pointed out, as Kami's eyes narrowed.

"How?" Kami insisted.

"A man has to keep some secrets to himself" Lucifer replied.

"Sounds a lot like lying, Lucifer" Kami retorted, before shaking her head and turning on her heel.

Lucifer opened his mouth to call after her, but the words died on his lips, not sure what he could say. Unlike the Detective, he could tell Kami's suspicions were growing, and a part of him felt glad. Would the truth really be so bad? Or would it mean a weight off his shoulders finally?

When Kami arrived at Lucifer's penthouse, the last thing she expected was to find Maze with a gorgeous blonde, whose wrists were chained with steel handcuffs, staring at an array of knives on the table. She had been worried that Maze might have been cheating on her, but it seemed whatever was going on could have been far worse.

"Uh, Maze? What the fuck?" Kami exclaimed, as the older woman's eyes widened, a look of panic on her face.

"You really shouldn't be here right now" Maze warned, making Kami cross her arms.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Have I wandered into your sex torture dungeon?" Kami accused, in a scandalised tone.

"I certainly hope not" The blonde muttered.

"And who is this?" Kami insisted, pointing to the woman in question.

"I'm Lucifer's moth—" The blonde began, only to be cut off by Maze.

"Step-mother" Maze clarified, with a tight smile.

Kami's eyes darted between the two women, appearing completely speechless. Out of all the things she had been imagining, meeting one of Lucifer's family wasn't one of them. She tilted her head as she took a closer look at the blonde, realising she could be no more than five years older than Lucifer himself.

"Wait…Lucifer said his mother was in town? Did he mean you?" Kami asked, as the blonde nodded.

"He said you escaped from prison. And that you were basically a raging psychopath…" Kami trailed off, nervously.

"Well, that seems like a bit of an exaggeration" Lucifer's mother scoffed, suddenly standing up and ripping off her steel handcuffs which shattered to the floor.

"They were pretty old cuffs" Maze muttered, when Kami turned to her with a concerned expression.

"Mazikeen, who is this ape?" The blonde inquired, as Kami let out a harsh scoff.

"I guess Lucifer missed out the part about you being a rude bitch" Kami exclaimed.

"How dare you speak to me in that way—" Lucifer's mother began, but Kami began talking over her.

"I'll speak to you how I damn well please. You want respect, then it goes both ways" Kami pointed out, firmly.

"She's my girlfriend" Maze grinned, slinging her arm over Kami's shoulder.

"A human and a demon? You don't need to be omniscient to see why that won't work" The blonde retorted, as Maze's eye twitched.

"Alright, enough with the name-calling already. What are you doing here? Because from the sounds of it you've hurt Lucifer a hell of a lot in the past, so if you've come here to twist the knife in further, me and you are gonna' have a problem" Kami insisted, as the blonde tilted her head.

"Why do you seem to care so much about my son?" She inquired.

"We're friends," Kami told her, as the older woman burst out laughing.

"Oh please, as if Lucifer would ever be friends with such a measly being" The woman shook her head.

Just as Kami opened her mouth to retort, the ping of the elevator caught her attention as she whipped around expecting to find Lucifer stepping out. Instead, they saw a blond man, holding a gun, as Kami slowly recognised the man was the one who had first spoken up at the law firm. What the hell was going on?

"Why aren't you dead?" The man exclaimed, taking the safety off his gun.

"What? Who are you?" Lucifer's mother frowned.

"Oh, don't give me that, Charlotte" He huffed, as Kami's eyes widened.

"Charlotte? As in Charlotte Richards?!" Kami gaped, turning to the blonde in question.

"Yes, that's this body's name" Charlotte replied, as Kami ran a hand over her face.

"That's what Lucifer meant when he said he had personal stakes in this case" Kami mumbled, under her breath.

"Wait…you were with that guy at the office. Are you a cop?" The man questioned.

"Civilian consultant. Now, why don't you do the smart thing and drop the gun?" Kami suggested, as the man's grip on the weapon only got tighter.

"I have a better idea…why don't I just shoot all three of you?" He grinned.

Kami's eyes quickly flickered over to Maze, who she could see was slowly pulling a dagger out from her leather trousers. Kami had no doubt that Maze would be able to hit her target, but the man could still get a shot at them before he was incapacitated.

"What's your name?" Kami queried.

"Liam. But I'm not looking for a therapy session, sweetheart" The man all but growled, aiming his gun at her.

"How about some truth then?" Kami suggested, making Liam frown.

"I knew you were the killer back at the office. Truth is, I've just been waiting for you to make your move" Kami informed him, taking a step forward.

"Kami, don't" Maze hissed, as Kami held up a hand to shush her.

"Well, here I am" Liam retorted.

"Like I said, I knew you'd come after Charlotte, I wanted to catch you in the act…so I planned ahead. Took the bullets out of your gun" Kami explained, as the man faltered for a second.

"You're lying" Liam frowned, as Kami gave him a shrug.

"You keep it in your office. Go on and check the barrel if you don't believe me" Kami stated, taking a few more steps forward, until she was only a metre away.

"Bullshit!" He insisted, raising the gun up higher.

"Well, try and shot me then. Of course, it won't fire anything and I'll be able to overpower you in three…two—" Kami began, as the man's hands began to shake a little.

"Stop it!" Liam cried, suddenly clutching at his head.

"One!" Kami exclaimed, lunging forward to grab the gun and tugging his arm to aim at the floor.

She then quickly spun around, so her back was to the man's chest and elbowed him in the face, causing him to stumble backwards. While he was dazed, she was able to wrestle him for the gun, her fingernails clawing at his skin. Once she had a hold of the weapon, she shoved him away, as he almost fell to the floor. Without a second thought, she raised the gun up and fired as a bullet whizzed through the air, cutting into his thigh. Liam let out a screech, clutching at his injured limb as he flopped to the floor.

"Y-you…you said you took the bullets…" He stuttered, from his foetal position on the floor.

"Guess I lied" Kami smirked.

"Not so measly, huh?" Kami suggested, turning back to Charlotte, as she turned the safety back onto the gun.

"…Have we met before?" Charlotte tilted her head, as Kami gave her a frown.

"I doubt it" Kami scoffed, returning her attention to the bleeding man on the floor and pulling out her phone, ready to call her sister.

"What is it?" Maze questioned, noticing the way Charlotte was continuing to stare at Kami with suspicion.

"Your little girlfriend reminds me of someone, that's all" Charlotte shrugged, a strange expression on her face.

Maze had never been good at recognising emotions, but it almost seemed as though the Goddess of all Creation was…scared?
