Chapter 9 What matter's most
:12:48am Midnight:
Lily's PoV
Waking up in the middle of the night is never good. I finally got comfortable on his back, only to be interrupted by nature's call. Carefully getting down to make my way outside. Cautiously stepping over Big sis who's laying on her belly, limbs all stretched out. Mumbling something about fluffy snow. As I made my way out and into some bushes nearby to do what I came to do. Feeling a lot better after that, I noticed a figure near the small pond. Walking up to it closer, I could hear it talking. "Ugh come on, come on. It's almost cleaned off. Ew sticky." The voice I could make out as I got closer was Hope's. I called out to him wondering what he was doing up. He jumped at the sound of my voice, I can't tell what's wrong since it's too dark out. As I got closer, he tried to inch back away. Did I do something wrong or does he not recognize me? "It's only me, Hope. Don't be scared." I say to him as I slowly get into better lighting for him to see me. It didn't calm him down though, he buckled down to the ground shaking. Worried for him, I got closer to him. Couldn't let him deal with whatever it is wrong. "L-Lily!? Please, don't come any closer." He said to me with a bright red on his cheeks. It didn't stop me from wondering what's going on with him. I put my paw on his head and lifted him up. "Please Hope, you're worrying me. Tell me what's wrong" trying to reassure him that I'm by his side. He seems to be hesitant about talking about it. I suggested if he had a nightmare of some kind, shaking his head no to the question. He told me he's fine now and thanked me for being here. I'm glad to know he's alright, I went to tackle him down into a hug, playfully, to show him that I care about him as any good friend would. As we hugged, I soon felt something… squishy? And yet somewhat hard pressed against my belly. I got up and backed away to see what it was. My face turned bright red at the sight of a male's full erect member. Hope shot up and quickly covered his lower half. We both stared awkwardly for a moment before I turned tail and ran back to the tent. "I-I-I'm sorry Hope! I got to head back, see you in the morning!" I say to him as I booked it. I could hear Hope's voice from behind but I was too flustered to think or listen.
Hope's PoV
"W-wait, Lily!! I can explain!!" But it was too late, she ran all the way back inside the tent. Oh… first I wake up to this slimy stuff all over my genitals after having a dream about me and Lily doing something in a meadow. Just thinking about it is making my blush come back. (Ugh I'm the worst…) I make my way back to the tent, I start to think to myself. (It's gonna be very awkward around Lily after this. How can I face her now?) Entering the tent, I don't see any traces of the flustered vixen, most likely hiding under the sleeping bag with Leon. I would join him, but she might be there and getting anywhere close to her in this awkward situation, would spell disaster. I pulled my bed all the way to the other end of the tent's corner. Probably a safe bet to do this.
:6Hours pass:
I woke up stiff and dizzy. After what happened, I tried to go back to sleep but it didn't work out well. Stretching out my paws, I attempted to get up and look around. I look over to see Leon and Lily are gone. Turning to my right to see Lazuli sleeping on her back and body all stretched out, I turned away immediately as I saw her special area. I forgot she sleeps weird and in odd places. One time, She slept on Leon's head for some reason and another time she was sleeping with Lily, nibbling on her ear while mumbling something about fluffy stuff.
Walking out of the tent, trying to get the image of Lazuli's love spot out of my head, I saw Leon and Mama Lucario with her daughter in her arms sitting down. Leon doesn't look happy at all. Wonder what happened? As I made my way there, I started to pick up on their conversation.
Leon: "This doesn't look too good. Yesterday really did it, this time."
Mama.L: "I'm sorry this happened to it. Is there any way to repair the damage?"
Mitsuki: "Luu…
Leon: "fraid not, I lack the tools, metal and a forge. Without any of those, this blade will stay like this."
I got up to the small group to see what's going on. Leon's knife is on the ground and in pieces. His hand landed on my head, petting me. So this is what Lily and Lazuli feel when he does this to her. Looking back up to the human, he briefly explained what they were talking about. The battle from yesterday had broken his shiny knife. The electric move that was supposed to hit Lily and Lazuli, was stopped by Leon using this, like the time he stopped my mother's Thunder. Seems like after all those attacks over time really damage it beyond repair. What's left of it, is the handle and a fraction on the top part of the blade. Taking the pieces and putting them carefully on his belt shethe, He then turned to me and got down as close as possible. "Hey, Buddy, you look like hell. Everything alright?" I just nodded, hopefully that would be enough. "Not gonna tell, huh. That's ok, I understand those moments. I'm here any time to talk, you know." He assured me. I always did feel comfortable with the human. Not only he is the only other Male in our group, but understands what I'm going through. I replied with another nod. "Hmm, oh I know. Hope, Let's train. You wanted to get stronger, so let's spar. Don't worry about hurting me, I can take some punishment, please no electric attacks." The tall person asked me, overjoyed with wanting to get stronger, this is the perfect time to. Then maybe I will be able to protect Lily. "Alright, Leon, Let's do it!" We both stepped back from each other and got into a stance. Me on all fours, upper body down and tail swinging. Leon, putting up his hands and feet spread out. The air was calm, as me and him stared into each other. After a few seconds. We both charged at each other, but right before we could do anything…
"STOP RIGHT THERE!!! WHAT DO YOU TWO THINK YOU'RE DOING!!!" A loud, angry female voice yelled out. We both stopped and tripped over our own feet, making us both faceplant in the dirt. Picking our heads up to turn to the being who yelled. What we saw was Mama Lucario, looking extremely pissed. "You two are not going to train or battle!" She said to us while crossing her arms. Our faces turned sad and heads hung low to the mother lecturing me and my buddy. "At least not with those horrible stances. If you males wanna train, *cracks paw Knuckles* you two are gonna learn how, the right way." She says with a sinister grin and eyes that can see your very soul. Me and Leon hugged each other for dear life, unknowing what she has in store for us…
Both:" AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Lily's PoV
Screams of my friends echoed in the cave. I was gonna run out with the baby Riolu to see what happened. Before I got to the entrance, Papa goro came running in, with a horror look. "What's going on out there, Mr.Goro? Are my friends ok?" I asked him with worry and concern. He looked back at me before looking down to the ground. "Lily...I'm sorry to say, but I don't think you're friends are gonna live much longer..." he said to me. What does he mean, I want to know what's happening. "W-Why, what happened to them!?"
Mitsuki: "Lu Lu Rio!?"
Papa.G: "it's... Lucario, she's gonna train them!! Whenever she is training or trains someone, she goes overboard!!"
I stood there trying to think what could be so horrible about training. What does he mean by overboard? I tried to ask more from him and he just puts both paws on his head and shook violently. Whatever she did to him, traumatized him. "She once forced me to strike a boulder for 3 days straight without food, water nor break! If you mess up...then..then…" he couldn't finish his sentence and ran to a corner. Crying in fear. How on earth is he still with her, let alone love!? Me and Mitsuki ran out to see what's going on, the shock of what's happening is terrible from here. "COME ON WEAKLINGS, you don't want to get 'eating' do you?" The female in charge, yelling to the young boy and shinx, tied upside down on a tree over water, while Basculin are jumping out of the water, looking to devour the two dangling beings. They perform sit ups to avoid being eaten. Both of them screaming and begging to be helped. the Aura dog sensed us and turned this way. "Oh, hi sweeties, is something wrong?" She asks with an innocent smile. We both pointed to the current problem and horror we see. "Oh that? Don't worry about them, your friends are completely fine. They wanted to train so I'm just teaching them some 'discipline' for poor form."
"That doesn't explain why my friends are tied up and dangling like fish!" I say back, clearly upset and mad.
???: "FISH!? WHERE!?" Lazuli bursts from the tent with a big smile, looking around for said fish. We all stood there starring at big sis with a blank expression, only to point in the direction of the piranhas trying to bite the males. She raced to the pond and noticed everything that's going on. "Yes!! Go Fishies, go bite the human!" She says laughing hard at the scene. Holding her sides to the overwhelming laughter and giggling.
"This isn't funny, Sis! Ms.Lucario, please tell us why you did all this?" I say to her, she then fully explained everything. In the end, this was punishment for messing up training too much. After the explanation. She turned to the fish and dismissed them. Jumping up to the branch the boys are tied to and undoing the rope. Both fell into the water. They both booked it out of there, for the fish came back to chase them for fun. "That...was…hell. and I thought limbo was hell itself." The human says coughing and trying to catch his breath. I confronted the idiotic males to know way they did this. Hope rubbed his head, looking away from me. He's most likely still embarrassed and awkward from last night. Leon spoke up, they want to get stronger so they can protect us. I feel flattered that he was going to do something like this just to protect Me and sis. But this got me thinking, He saved me a few times now. All I ever did was play the Damsel in Distress role. No… I want to do my part. Sis is strong and has protected me for years. Leon came into our lives and did the same thing. Even Hope was determined to stand up and fight. Then there's just me, that's it, I'm done being like this. I walk up to the strick teacher, my mind is made up. "Ms.Lucario, please teach me too!" Everyone was shocked, even big sis ran back to hear me ask her. "Please, I would also like to get stronger. I wanna be able to fight for myself too."
Leon: "Are you sure,Lily? You know you don't have to."
Lazuli: "Yea sis, I've always known you as a lover, not a fighter." I explained to them my feelings for wanting this. How the times I was saved and the feelings of not being useful. After a long conversation over me wanting to train, Ms.Lucario said she would gladly help. Sis also said she wanted to train along with me, and she happily said yes. Now with all this being said, the four of us will be training to get stronger.
:11:25pm close to midnight:
Leon's PoV
I flop onto the sleeping bag, followed by Hope faceplanting onto me, followed by Lazuli faceplanting on top of both of us. All 3 of us grunted from the pain and tiredness. Lucario worked and trained us till our bodies are numb. Running for an hour and a half straight, up and down a hill while having weights on. Lily was last so she had punishment, the punishment was she was tied up in an awkward position while jumping all the way up a hill once. The rope was wrapped around her hind legs, connected to her back holding her front paws behind, which is also running across her chest, running down the stomach in between the legs. It looked easy, but all we heard was her moaning with every hop. She was completely red by the end of it from embarrassment. Must've been painful, I felt really bad for her. Hope was punished on the 2nd training course, punishment for him was balancing a tall basket on his head full of berries, while standing on a skinny pole… with a ring of fire below. Papa goro and Mitsuki were standing by with a giant pot full of water and Rawst berries. Mitsuki had a pot on her head, probably for safety. I got punishment for the next 2, holy shit those were painful. 1st one was barefoot walking on ice, while holding buckets of berries and had a murkrow on my head pecking me if I went too slow. The 2nd one I had dangle like a fish, again, without getting bit or getting hit with an Aura sphere. Holy…. hell, it sucked.
Lily came in after finally, holding a bag full of healing berries. We all had our share to recover from only the 1st circle of Hell. Hope crawled to his bed and fell flat, he was out like a light. Lazuli passed out on my back, refusing to move. That just leaves.. "Hey Lily, how are you doing so far?" I asked her, but not a word. Poor girl, covered in dirt and her fur is a mess. I reached over and patted the little fox on the head. Ears fell down while she grabbed her tail, trying her best to clean it. "Hey, anyone still up in there?" A voice came from outside. It startled me and Lily, but we soon realized who it was. I got up, trying not to disturb the other vixen on my back, exiting the tent to met up with the panda. "Sorry about Lucario. She tends to go overboard with training and stuff. I wanna make it up to all of you, well in this case, you two." He apologized to us and lead us into a small cave to the side of the main entrance. A second enter leading to somewhere, the air around us starts to get hot. A bit further in going upwards, the heat seems to be increasing every step til we saw light at the end. Exiting out of the steam cave, we were surprised to see what the source was. It's something so magical and the most relaxing thing anywhere. "A Hot spring!?" Me and Lily said with excitement. I always wanted to bathe in one back then but all the real ones were found in Japan and China. Lily wasted no time and immediately jumped in. The little fox layed on her back in the water, floating around and cooing in delight of the warm, steamy water relaxing the sore muscles. Giggling at her before asking if she was enjoying the bath, she sat up and nodded yes.
I started to take my clothes off, starting with the shirt. Tossing it to the side and then worked on my pants. I glanced back at Lily to see where she was at. the normal-type, was turned around and paws covering her lovely green eyes. Taking the last of my clothes off and putting them to the side. Slowly but surely, getting in the water. Took a bit to settle in because of all the stinging, after all my body is covered in cuts and bruises. It was a good foot and 2inchs deep, just right on my chest. "Lily, you don't have to hide any more, Silly. Why not sit by me?" I asked the shy fox, who slowly turned around. Making her way over to me and sitting by my right. We both leaned back and stared up in the night sky, which is covered in stars and Galaxy like clouds, the purple-ly part when looking up in certain areas in the world you're able to see all the stars at night. Lily broke the silence after a bit of starring up. "Isn't this romantic, Leon? The stars are beautiful and the spring is so delightful."
"Yea I guess, I really didn't notice much. All that is getting me is all the stinging from my wounds." I replied back to her. Seems she was extremely disappointed in my reply, like I messed something up. I saw her ears starting to fall in sadness. I reached over and rubbed her sweet spot on the back of her ear. I heard a faint purring coming from the vixen. I sort of feel bad for, most likely hurt her feelings in some way. I think she deserved to know. "Hey, Lily?"
Lily's PoV
This really is romantic, but Leon doesn't see it that way it seems. Even mentioning it, he still doesn't see it. I felt defeated, why is this so hard? I've tried to talk with him about how I feel about him, but stuff just keeps getting I'm the way. Now that we are alone, it still isn't enough. We are both in a lovely hot spring, the night is clear as day itself. I even cuddle closer to him to where my chest and front paws are on his leg. The water and steam makes it hard to see it clearly, hiding anything below. Not that I was gonna look at 'that'. Maybe he's just dense to my advance or maybe.. (Ooo) My train of thought was interrupted by the wet Human who's leg I'm laying on, rubbing the back of my right ear. Oh how I love being scratched there. "Hey, Lily?" Leon said to me as I looked up to him and noticed he wasn't smiling, more upset. I rarely see him like this. The only other time was when we all saw him in his past life, killing himself. I perk my ears up, showing I'm listening to him. "Listen, I think it's time I tell you something… a secret I kept from you and Lazuli." A secret? He's been keeping one from us? I didn't think he could have kept something from us. Then again, everyone has a secret or two they never want to tell. For him to tell me he has one and gonna tell me, means he must trust me a lot. "For a long time now, ever since I've came to this world with a second chance, I felt deep in my heart that something was wrong with me. At times I should be happy, I am not. Times I should've been scared, did not matter. And the times I should of felt glad to be alive, not even that. I am unable to feel positive emotions."
I couldn't believe what I'm hearing. He can't feel emotions that make beings happy? How can that be, it shouldn't be possible to lose yourself or your emotions. He continues to talk about everything that had happened to him. Year by year, things never went right and just when he thought it was going well, his hope was taken from him. Humans just take and take away from his kindness. "Till now, I still blame myself for letting people walk over me. It's not like I was raised to ignore those who need help but when I open myself up to others, that's when they strike. I lost everything to that dam snake woman, played me for a fool for a year. I guess when the very last thing I had left was taken from me, that was the breaking point of no return. How could someone just take your love, respect and feelings and treat it like trash." The human couldn't hold back the tears. 'Running like a river, an unstoppable flow, releasing the pressure.' (I tried to do a haiku, ok, so sue me :D) I sat here, in the water. Seeing the human I have these feelings for, breaking down in a mess. I have to do something, I can't watch this anymore! I got up on his legs, putting my paws on his chest. The sad human lifted his head, wondering what I'm doing. "Lily?"
"Stop, don't be like that. Whatever happened in the past, stays there. Don't let it ruin the life you have now. You have my Sister, Hope, Ava, Lucario and her family, and most of all…" (This is it, I got to tell him.) My heart is beating so fast and my tail swinging in excitement. A pink blush started to appear on my face. "You have me. Ever since you saved me from drowning, from the mean cats, and even humans. I started having these feelings for you. I couldn't bare seeing you like this anymore. You are an incredible human, who treats us like equals. You were there for us and..." I lean in closer to his face. "I... I'm in love with you. You mean so much to me." I leaned in more, giving him a kiss on the lips. He didn't fight it, he wrapped his arms around me as we enjoyed our first passionate kiss. I was purring the whole moment we shared as our tongues went into each other's mouth. I broke away from him, leaving a trail of saliva that's connected between us. He try to say something but I put my paw on his lips. "Don't say anything, I understand you're going through a lot. You don't have to return my feelings yet, I just wanted to tell you how I truly feel about you and how important you are to me. I will wait for you as long as it takes til you feel ready. I love you, Leon, nothing will change that, even if you don't accept me as your mate." I gave him a small lick on the cheek, before getting off. I finally did it, I told him my love for him. Hopefully he could feel happy again after all this. I felt hands around me, lifting me up and pulled to a naked chest. Leon sat there, holding me. "Thank you…" he whispered softly to me, before letting me go, wiping away his tears. He looked at me, giving me that smile I always love to see. "Your right, Lily, Thank you for helping me. When I do feel up to it, I will return your feelings." He stood up out of the water, stretching. I caught a glimpse of something dangling, I immediately turned around, blushing to what I just saw. Leon was puzzled by me looking away. Then it hit him. "Oops, Sorry Lily." He says as he covers up. Yup he is dense in some ways. *Giggles* "Hey, Leon. My fur is all clean now, wanna head back now?"
"Yea let's go back. We have to go through hell again tomorrow." He replied back. Picking me up in his arms as we made our way to the tent. Burying my head in his chest, I could sleep like this forever. We entered the tent to see something we didn't expect to see. Little Mitsuki is cuddling with big sis in the sleeping bag. Putting me down so he can move them to the big fluffy blanket. Successful moving them over, Leon crawled under the bag, lifting up an opening to invite me to join him under. I happily accept it. I crawled under and after moving around I finally found the perfect spot. He was laying on his side as I was cuddled up under his arm that's over me. Drifting off into a deep sleep.
:Literally 20mins later:
"UP AND AT'EM SLACKERS, TIME FOR THE MORNING 10 MILE JOG WHILE CARRYING BASKETS OF BERRIES!!" The intense drill instructor who is known as Ms.Lucario, shouted to wake us all up. One by one we all got up and walked out of the tent. (But...BUT I DIDN'T SLEEP A WINNNNNNK!!!)
:Time 2am:
Lily: yay! I finally did it. Lalala~
Evo: Lily, what are you doing?
Lily: Oh hi Ev-eeep! *Gets picked up and put on fluffy bed on the table*
Evo: stay there. *Cough* Hello everyone, As Lily did so in the beginning, we really do appreciate you staying on this journey. I know some of the choices I made to where this story is going seems to not favor some, but it's not gonna stop me or put me down. I asked 2 of my close Female friends and a guy friend to read it. so far, all seem to really enjoy it and will be helping time to time for pointers and help with 'others' parts. Any concerns or tips is always appreciated, even ideas to where I could take this somewhere. No need to hold back. *Bows like a butler* till next time.
