Chapter 14 Promise
Mitsuki's PoV
After an explanation from the bug-type that is injured, I calmed down and released the Pokemon I was holding hostage. Running for it's life to her love ones. Turns out there are very tough laws here if you want to live and stay alive. One of them was to give up any females in your family for the yearly mating season. The time of year where all male bug Pokemon force their eggs inside of Females they collected. When he refused to give up his daughter for the season, they attacked him with a deadly mix of poison from 3 different poison types. No amount of Pecha berries could help this, only a human can that has great knowledge of medical experience. Leon wouldn't be much help here at all. I tried helping him as best I can, but it wouldn't matter in the long run. At least I can try and make him as comfortable as he can be. I look over to the other end of the cave to see the siblings curled up to each other. Their cheeks are stained with tear marks. And still now they sob as all of the effect they have given was all for nothing. My heart sank to how painful all this is. Bad enough their mother died or is missing, but to lose another parent is too much to bare. I wouldn't know what to do if my mommy and daddy were taken from me.
After a while of taking care of the Leavanny, noises can be heard from the entrance of the glowing cave. Sounds of two, no maybe three unknown targets walking in here. The grass types pulled me into a little hiding place they used that last few times. The place was a big pile of glowing mushrooms that smelled funny a bit, probably helps mask our scent. The target's got closer into the light, I can make out the three intruders. The trio were Parasect, Pinsit and Ariados. Nasty bug-type Pokemon that look like they're here to collect something. The middle of the three, Ariados, spoke up in a smug tone. "Hey there, Buddy, how's the poison in ya doing. But it feels great, huh." The infected Pokemon just sit there with his head hanging low. Unable to talk back or respond in fear of getting attacked again. "We both know why we are here. Where is the female? You know the rules of this Forest. Your late mate sure did when it was her turn." Speaking again and chuckling at the memory. So that's what happened to their mother. Probably was killed by them. The grass type finally spoke. "S-S-She isn't here anymore. Last night she-aaah" before he could even finish, The Pinsit silenced him with an Aerial Ace and spoke. "Quit your lieing!! We know she's here somewhere. A scared little brat like her wouldn't leave her daddy alone." The brute yelled out in fury. Scanning the area to see if any life was around. Finally looking over towards us, hoping he doesn't see we're hiding in the mushrooms. Started to walk over to our cover. (Dam it, did he figure it out!?) Just when we thought it couldn't get worse, the little brother jumped out, headbutting the stag beetle and yelling. "YOU LEAVE ME AND DAD ALONE!! BAD ENOUGH MY SISTER IS MISSING!!" Charging at him again, hole to be grabbed by the throat. Squirming around to break free, but useless, none the less. "So, it seems that the female isn't here. Kill the runt. This should teach this worthless male that he killed his family all because he didn't obey our laws." The spider spoke up, giving the command. The father tried his best to move to save his son, but was unable to do it. In a split second, the oversized bug bit down on the caterpillar's neck with his 6 odd teeth. The young male screaming for It's life. I had enough of this. Bursting from the safety of the hiding place with a quick attack. If you had to compare my speed, I'm faster than Mommy's Extreme Speed. Charging up my blaze kick and unleashing my strongest attack. Nailing my target dead-on at the insect's horn. The attack was so strong, I broke it right off. Green fluid gushes out. Releasing his grip on the seriously injured Pokemon and crying out in pain of its horn being broken off. The Parasect that has been quite this whole time, charged in to attack with poison powder. Spores came out of the mushroom Pokemon and surrounding me in a purple mist. I have to act fast or else the poison is gonna get me. Looking to my left was the berries that were stolen. Luckily some were Pecha. Racing over to the berry to pick it up then bolt towards the attacker and landing a solid Blaze Kick dealing huge damage to the grass and bug type. Thanks to me being already poisoned, I can't be affected by another status. His ability triggered letting out yellow spores. If it wasn't for the poison, I would of been paralyzed. Who knows what they would do to my numb body. Two down and one to go. Biting into the sweet yummy treat that heals poison, I stare down the last target with fury. "Seems to me that you had a lot of training to have beaten these two who are in their 60s in powerlevel. Our work here is done anyway. Have fun with the dead body. Hehehe" the stag beetle picked up.his fallen friend and booked it out of the cave followed by the spider, but not without closing off the entrance with a huge web and a dozen of his little spiders to guard it as well. As soon as they see her, they'll shoot everything at her at once to catch and do whatever they want to their toy. Looking back at the others, the Swadloon came out of hiding and rushed over to the injured brother. The father of the two tried it's best to crawl over to his son, shorty joined in too. He was in rougher shape than I thought, half of his neck is gone and one of his little feet was eating off. Green blood continued to flow, the family all crying for they knew what came next. As the blood stopped flowing, so did the heartbeat of the little bug type. The female next to me screaming and crying to her now dead brother. I felt something on my shoulder touching me, looking over to see the Leavanny getting my attention. "Please, there isn't much time left for me. Find a way out of the forest and take my daughter with you. Promise me you'll keep her safe from those monsters. As long as I know she will be in good paws, I can rest easy knowing she's safe. My daughter deserves a better life out of this place."
"You have my word, I promise. I'll keep your child safe and find her a new home." I replied back. He smiled at the reply before scoming to the poison, laying next to the fallen family member. Tears build up in my eyes, flowing out of me. Clenching my paws, angry at those horrible pests that took 3 innocent lives. All they wanted to do was live somewhere safe, not this. Walking up to the entrance and sat down in front of it. Gotta think of something to do to get out of here. I can easily burn these webs away but it wouldn't matter if the spider snipers are on guard. I also have a very bad feeling about something. I believe those Pokemon will be back, with a vengeance.
Leon's PoV
Taking a nap was a good idea. As I lay here with two fur balls that are putting and cuddling close to me, I start to reflect on some stuff that's been going on. Lily's confession, the kiss with Lazuli after what happened with the Pokemon who attacked her and did some nasty things, Papa Goro warning me about mating season and how the girl's feelings towards me. So much has happened. How can I resolve this? Bad enough I'm not sure about dating, let alone with these two sweethearts. Obviously I have to pick one when the time comes. No matter what, one of them is gonna get hurt by then. Between Me and Lily, we are close I would say. Caring, sweet, gentle. We share some tastes in music and activities to do. Best parts about her is her wonderful smile and how cuddly she is. On the other hand, things with Me and Lazuli didn't start out well. But I realize she started to like me after me saving Lily and all the petting she enjoys. What really got us close is when I came for her after that day with the Lycanroc and that kiss. Still surprises me she would do that and I'll have to admit, after that she became more shy towards me and I find that really cute. Just when I was finally drifted off to sleep, the unexpected happened. "LEON!! WAKE UP! Mitsuki is in big trouble! We have to go help her!" Hope burst through the tent entrance and tackled my stomach, sort of waking me and knocking me out. (ooof) The girls got spooked as well. Lily tackled me and latched onto my neck screaming, Lazuli threw out a random punch hitting my cheek. It was soft to the touch but man did that hurt. (Oow!)
After a bit of everyone calmed down, Hope explained everything that has happened. We knew we had to do something. Can't risk the girls going with us, they might just be a bigger target then us boys. It took me some time to convince the Sisters not to go too, in fear of something really bad happening. Hope came back with mama and papa and both look extremely pissed and worried. "When I get my paws on my daughter, HER ASS WILL BE BRIGHT PURPLE!!" Coming from the most dangerous being I'm the group at the moment, it is said to never piss off a mother. And this is why. I almost said something that would most likely get my butt sent flying somewhere. Those who are going into the forbidden forest is me, Hope, Pangoro and Lucario. As much as it pains me to tell the Eevees they can't go again, I just really care about their well being. Still, it doesn't stop them from forcing themselves onto my arm and leg, begging to let me take them. Unfortunately, being a nice guy and all, I let them come along but on one condition.
:Moments later:
Lazuli: "Is this really necessary to be in here?"
Lily: "I honestly don't mind being this close." *Purrs*
Lazuli: "I guess so…*blush* but one thing. WHY ARE WE INSIDE YOUR SHIRT."
Leon: "It was the thing I can think of to keep you two safe. Plus you are very soft foxes."
Mama L: "ENOUGH WITH THE FLIRTING!! Now's not the time to be screwing around."
Leon/Lily/Lazuli: "We're sorry!!"
Hope: "...I'm jealous, I wanted to snuggle too."
On our way in the forest, we try to find any clues. Tracking wasn't my strong suit, but I knew Lazuli was the tracker in our group. But it seems there's an even better one. Out blue female doggo was on all fours, trying to pick up any scent of her daughter. I was forced to look away from Lucario who's butt and special place was in full view by the foxes under my shirt jabbing me. "This way!" The aura fighter said to us. Seems like she picked up the trial. On the way, I noticed something odd. As we go on, parts of the trees and bushes are covered in webs. Just sloppy and unneeded mess. Almost like it was put there to mark something. I told Lucario about it, seems like she was pleased a bit to know someone marked the pathway to where our goal is possibly at. Continuing the way forward, we were stopped by the leader of our group. Telling us to stay low. "Bad news, I have detected a few aura readings. 12 of them are out here and two are inside. Good news is, one of the aura's is Mitsuki. But she isn't alone." That's a bit concerning, knowing she might be in danger. Gotta think of a way further in, looking forward, I see a cave where she said Mitsuki is in, but it's sealed off with a giant web to keep them in place. The other beings that are around somewhere are probably guarding the cave, ready to attack whatever comes out. "We have to get those Pokemon who are hidden to come out but how?" I say out loud while rubbing my chin, thinking of a plan. I felt intense moving on my chest and both normal-types came out. "Those nasty bug-type Pokemon would go after any females, we will be that bait!" Lazuli said followed by her sister nodding in agreement. "No, it's too risky. What if we can't save you in time before something really bad happens." I replied back with lots of worry. I felt a paw touching my leg. Looking over to my left to see Lily, her ears down and giving me the puppy dog eyes. Getting closer and closer till we were face to face. Leaning in to kiss me. "WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT FLIRTING!!" The pissed off mother said, grabbing the little Eevee by the back of her neck and throwing her out in the open. "Ah!? Sorry, Lily! I don't know why I threw you." She added as she ran towards her. Lazuli followed too and helping her sister up who's in tears a bit. Just then several shots of web launched at them. "Blaze Kick!" The aura fighter used as she burned all the web away. From the trees, jumped 12 spinaraks landing on the ground surrounding them. "Look, brothers, some nice females to carry our eggs. Give it everything you got!" The mini leader said to them as they all cheered and started to attack with string shot. Pangoro jumped out and stomped on two of the little bastards, squishing and killing them instantly. Pondering his fists together, ready to kill. Hope and I raced to the cave.
Getting to the entrance, Hope used Fire Fang, but before he could burn it, The webs burst into flames. Second later, Out came a blue doggo and a green ball. It was Mitsuki and something else. "Leon! Hope! You both came!" She says with joy and happiness. Landing on my face and knowing me over. Hope caught whatever else came out with her. I look over to see that it's a Swadloon that's on top of Hope. Those two locked eyes for a bit before it started to blush and get off him quickly. Alright, we found the little girl. She did a quick introduction of her new friend as we raced back to the others. Getting back to see everyone safe but beat up a bit. Regrouped, we all started to race out the area, but just as soon as we were almost home free. 3 Ariados' blocked our path. Within seconds, they surrounded us. Dam, so close. The bug Pokemon from behind parted ways so that something else to come join us. What we saw was something we never expected, a Galvantula. But something is wrong with this one. I'm pretty sure these dudes are not bigger than Pangoro in size. "Oh no.. It can't be!" Lucario said with fright in her voice. "It's.. it's a Totem Pokemon!!" As she said that, bursts of powerful aura shot out of the oversized spider, causing us to fall to our knees. To think, a Totem Pokemon is here. Judging by the other Pokemon around, this must be the Bug type Totem. Walking up to us, getting a better look. "Seems like some have invaded my territory. I see there are five females among them. Perfect for our season." The giant bug chuckled at the thought.
Leon: "Don't you dare think about it, buddy. Let us go now, or we will fight."
T.Galvan: "Interesting. How about we have a little bet. I am a Pokemon to its word. Ask around and they will tell you honestly.
Leon: "A bet? What do you mean?"
T.Galvan: "Pick two beings from your little group, Human, will have a battle. If you win, you and your friends can leave in peace. We Totems always keep our word."
Lily: "An-And if we lose?"
T.Galvan: "The Males will be kicked out, while you females will stay and become mothers to all the eggs we will stuff in you."
All the girls shivered at that last comment. And frankly my worst nightmare of what could happen to them. No way we can back out now. I told him he has a bet. Not like we have a choice anyway, given our situation. Lucario steps up to the challenge, so she'll be battling. I would battle too but I won't be so good in these types of fights. Gotta pick someone else to battle with mama. Looking over my choices, thinking hard on who it should be. Didn't take long to pick the obvious one. I asked Hope if he could battle. Tail swinging in excitement, the Sisters however didn't like the pick so much but understood that they had to trust me on this. "Alright, Galvantula, the two Pokemon I pick are Lucario and Shinx." "Very well. I, Galvantula, along with my closest friend. Shall battle you." He announced to everyone. Great, another long battle. Can we just have a normal day...
Evo: Hello everyone. Hope you enjoyed this thrilling chapter. Like I mentioned at the beginning in this chapter. I do have surprise. By the time you finish this chapter, I will have posted a new, experimental book. It may backfire really bad but hey, it's called experimental for a reason.
Lazuli: Get to the point!!
Evo: Right, anyway, it's to help bounce ideas off. The story takes place in the mystery dungeon worlds. I'm hoping il be able to further this story more by having a different view at times to refresh my mind set.
Lily: But, wouldn't this be a bad idea? You'll have to work on two stories to do now. You sure you'll be ok with this?
Evo: Yup, all I need to do is drink alot of coffee and these pills *gulp* ……. *Faceplant*
Lily/Lazuli: !?!?
Hope: Evo, what's wrong? Evo? EEEEEEEVOOOO!!!!!
