"Yeah" yawned Knuckles "And if you can, see if you can help Relic locate the Chaos Emeralds. We've been searching for those darn things for a while now to gather up so that the two of them can guard those too."

With all of that said, Tails left the house while Knuckles went up to his room to get a proper sleep. Tails made his way through the forest towards the shrine of the Master Emerald. "I mean, we've made amends with most of our enemies" said Tails "Eggman's become a teacher at Mobius University, Wave works for me at work now, Jet and Storm are usually busy competing in races around the world, Shadow keeps his eyes on Rouge. "Right, right, the Chaos Emeralds" said Tails "Knuckles told me that too. Well, he couldn't come so I came to see how you two were doing instead."
"And it's good that you have" said Tikal, her smile becoming a little more suggestive "Because we've been waiting for you."
"Huh? You have?" said Tails, looking at Tikal with a raised eye.
"Oh yes" said the echidna "I'll have to have words with Knuckles for not telling us that you were visiting the island. Because we would've asked him to send you here sooner."
"Or at the very least, you could've taken initiative and come seen us yourself" said Relic, who was wearing a smile that mirrored Tikal's.
"Well, I suppose I could've" said Tails "But I was preoccupied when I got here."
"Mm? How so?" asked Tikal, who seemed to look a little too eager to know the details.
"Well, I wanted to spend some time catching up with Knux and Julie-Su" said Tails "And then I had a… less than fun time with Lien-Da yesterday."
Relic and Tikal suddenly gasped, Relic looked like she was about to faint from hearing Lien-Da be name dropped. Tikal simply put a hand over her mouth.

Tails was standing in front of another stone shrine, a stone staircase led up to the top, and sitting there, was ANOTHER Master Emerald. Exactly the same as the one outside of the cave.

"There is," said Relic, "We've taken up some more security measures for guarding it."
"The one outside that Chaos is guarding is a fake" said Tikal matter-of-factly "We made it to throw off the thieves and make sure the real one stays hidden in this cave. This one is the real one."
"No one else knows about this" said Relic "Not even Knuckles."
"This is a very new method that we came up with," said Tikal.
