thanks for your kind words, let's see what happens next. Also Joey says a homophobic thing in the beginning, just a warning if it's a trigger. He's just straight up mean, I never liked him in the show anyways.

Jane hardly got a wink of sleep last night, thinking about Maura and what happened. She woke up from a dream where a kiss happened and she was the one who freaked out and she hadn't been able to fall back asleep peacefully. She woke up in a mood and it was noticeable down where her and her classmates met up for breakfast, well at this point in time was more like brunch. Jane kept on seeing Gabriel Dean look at her, whispering something in Joey's ear. She didn't even want to know what they were talking about, but seeing both boys laugh she stood up from her own table and walked over to them. "What the heck is so funny?"

"Since when do you filter your vulgar language Janie?" Joey asked, and Jane paused looking around noticing she couldn't see their teacher.

"Why don't you tell me what the hell is funny then?"

"I don't think it's any of your business Jane, just me and Gabriel having a conversation," Joey shrugged, before nudging Gabriel. "Hey, ain't that the girl Jane left you for last night," he asked, glancing over at Maura who came into the room.

"Jane didn't leave me for her," Gabriel frowned, glancing up at Jane with sad eyes.

"Yeah well weren't you just saying Jane was in that girl's room for thirty minutes last night?" Joey smirked and Jane frowned at what he just said. "Sounds like ol' Dean here is just upset you didn't want to sleep with him, a man. I knew you were a dyke Rizzoli..." he laughed and as soon as those words left his mouth, she jumped across the table and punched Joey.

"Rizzoli!" her teacher shouted as Joey held his nose.

"I will not apologize, he called me a derogatory term. You think he'd have a little respect," she stood up.

"Just come sit by me Jane. You would think you two would know how to behave on a class trip. You have to learn how to not be so violent sometimes."

Jane grumbled and went to sit down at her teacher's table, not knowing that Maura was just observing her and the incident that took place. "Thanks for taking his side."

"It's just that violence isn't the answer to everything, you realize this right?" her teacher looked at her concerned.

"If people just stopped pissing me off it wouldn't be such a problem. I already took anger management classes when I was 16 I'm just an angry person," Jane shrugged, she looked over at Maura who was with an older woman she assumed was her mother she mentioned last night. "Or maybe I'm just a lost cause."

"No one is a lost cause."

"Well I know someone who's a very lost cause," she glanced over at Joey still holding his nose as Gabriel slowly went to retrieve some ice. Sometimes Jane didn't know how or why Joey and Gabriel stayed friends for so long, Gabriel always complained about him to Jane and it was really irritating at times. She knew how Joey was and she didn't need to be reminded of him all the time. "Can I be excused?" Jane frowned.

"Where do you need to go?"

"The bathroom, I can do that alone I hope," Jane shook her head before getting up from the table and headed towards the bathrooms, not before giving Maura a look, looking away quickly feeling Maura's eyes on her. "Shit," she muttered to herself and walked faster to the bathroom.

"Maura darling, are you paying attention?" Constance asked, noticing Maura's distracted eye.

"Yes mother, can I leave you alone for a moment? I should freshen up before the Fairfields arrive."

"You look perfectly fine Maura, but if you must," she nodded. "You may go."

Maura removed herself from the table and went where Jane was headed, ignoring the whistling of the boy Jane punched in the face as she stood up. No wonder why Jane's angry, she thought to herself, Boys are so immature. Maura entered the bathroom and found Jane gripping a sink, looking down. "That was some punch you got there Jane."

Jane jumped up and turned to Maura, "Did you really follow me in the bathroom? As if I didn't have enough shit to worry about, now if you don't mind," she wiped her eyes and pushed past Maura.

"Jane, please... I know you're mad at me, you left so quickly last night I just, can I explain myself?" Maura pouted and Jane shook her head.

"No need to explain, and I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at everything, goodbye Maura, please don't follow me into anymore bathrooms," she went to go open the door to exit but Maura blocked her movements.

"Please, then you can leave and forget that we met, if you'd like."

"You're really persistent, but fine. What do you feel you need to explain?" Jane crossed her arms.

"I-well, I um... I never kissed a girl before, and when I felt like that was what you were about to do I froze, I didn't know what to expect and it scared me. And I don't get scared often, but we only spent a few minutes together but I just, I found you so captivating and I panicked, I froze and my mouth got all dry and I remembered I never got you anything to drink so I felt like a bad hostess, but then I just made things worse."

"Is that all?" Jane looked serious, but Maura's explanation softened her up a bit.

"It's the truth, all of it, I actually can't lie, I break out into hives and I hyperventilate," Maura frowned.

"Then how can you keep it a secret that you aren't with that Garrett guy anymore?" Jane raised a brow, curious of her explanation on that.

"Very careful planning and phrasing of words, plus our families are close and are always around the other so it just kind of works. My parents don't ask for specifics, mainly just how are you guys and it's not like we don't talk to each other often so it's just hiding the truth," Maura rambled and Jane smiled. "Are you not mad at me anymore?" she asked, still trying to figure out Jane's cues.

"Like I said Maura, I wasn't mad at you, okay? Who on Earth could stay mad at you?" Jane rested a hand on Maura's arm. "I should probably go back before my teacher comes looking for me."

Maura nodded and stepped to the side, "Jane, does this mean we don't have to forget that we met?"

"I think it'd be very hard to forget you Maura Isles," Jane winked. "Whenever you're in Boston maybe I can introduce you to the Red Sox, they start playing in the Spring, you'll love baseball I promise."

"Jane Rizzoli, are you asking me on a date?" Maura asked causing Jane to smirk.

"That's so long away. Maybe I can sneak out after everyone goes to bed and we can stroll around Paris some. Just me and you?" Jane suggested, hoping Maura would say yes, but when the honey blonde girl frowned she knew she probably made another mistake.

"As nice as that sounds your teacher seems like she'd be upset if you left them, and well, Garrett and his family are arriving soon, so that wouldn't be the best idea," Maura rubbed the back of her neck. "Maybe we can do something another time."

"Oh, Garrett's coming?"

"Yeah, mother just told me this morning, I wasn't aware of it."

"Okay," Jane shoved her hands in her pockets. "Well maybe we can figure something out. Do you have a pen?"

"No," Maura shook her head. "Kind of can't have one in what I'm wearing."

"See that's why I don't wear dresses, especially ones without pockets," Jane took in Maura's appearance. "I suppose you don't have a cell phone with you either?"

"I left it upstairs."

"My parents can't afford to give me and my brothers cell phones right now. Maybe fate doesn't want us to hang out."

"I don't believe in fate," Maura shrugged.

Jane just nodded, "I'll be here a few more days, I'm sure we'll run into each other again. I'll try to get your number at some point so we can keep in touch."

"Sure, that sounds quite delightful. Mother is probably worried about me, did you want to leave first? It'd be more weird if we left at the same time."

"Yeah, and we can't have that. I'll see you around Maura Isles," Jane reached out to take Maura's hand, pressing a light kiss on it, before leaving the bathroom and she almost ran into the woman who must have been Maura's mother. "Maura will be out soon. I'm Jane Rizzoli, I met your daughter last night in the hallway."

The woman named Constance, Jane remembered, just gave her a curious look, "Well, it's nice meeting you Jane, Maura didn't tell me about that, she seemed distracted this morning, is she feeling well?"

Jane was about to say she was alright when she got an idea, "Actually, I think she's feeling a little ill. She should get some much needed rest, ginger ale and crackers should suffice."

Constance nodded, "She does stress out a lot, I'll make sure she gets some rest. Thanks for checking up on my daughter, she hasn't many friends."

"Not a problem, I don't have many friends either, maybe that's why we connected so well."

"Jane Rizzoli, there you are," her teacher spoke and Jane rolled her eyes.

"Yes, here I am, I was just in the bathroom like I said, but I think what I ate for breakfast isn't treating me well," Jane scrunched up her face and groaned. "You know Miss Saltzman, it's a shame that you're the only teacher on this trip. What happens if one of us can't continue the day. I would hate to take the fun out of this trip because I got sick."

Miss Saltzman frowned, "Well, I can't just leave you here by yourself, but it's nice of you to take your fellow students concerns into consideration."

"I did sign a permission slip, if I recall it mentioned that kids who are 18 and older can do things as long as they stay out of trouble. It was in fine print," Jane told her continuing to hold her stomach.

"You read the fine print?" Miss Saltzman smirked. "I'm impressed Jane."

"Can I go vomit now please?" Jane asked and she nodded, Jane smiled before rushing back into the bathroom. Constance looked at Jane's teacher.

"If you want an adult to keep an eye out on your student, I'm willing to help, plus my daughter is sick so I could take care of both of them. I had observations that Jane probably needs some structure."

"Can you teach her manners?" Miss Saltzman asked with a laugh.

Maura looked at Jane in confusion when she entered the bathroom in a small sprint, Jane stood up and smirked. "You're welcome."

"I'm welcome for what?" she asked.

"I got you out of hanging with your 'boyfriend' and his family," Jane put boyfriend in air quotes, which caused Maura to look even more confused. "I said you weren't feeling well when your mother asked and told her to make sure you get some rest. So you get to be at your hotel room, and I came in like that because I had to fake sickness to my teacher."

"But Jane, I am feeling well. I can't lie to mother."

"You're just hiding the truth is all, plus doesn't being around Garrett make you feel uneasy."

"No, why would he make me feel uneasy?"

Jane sighed, "Okay this is proving to be more difficult than when I thought my plan was a pretty damn good idea."

"I'm sorry, but this is why you shouldn't lie Jane."

"Yeah, but I can lie, and I want to spend time with you, wait, if lying makes you get all hyperventilating, can't that cause you to get sick, so then you wouldn't be lying about feeling ill."

"Jane, it's more complicated than that."

"Of course it is, you're making it more difficult then it needs to be. Okay, how about when I left last night and when you thought I was mad at you, did you feel sick then?" Jane asked and Maura stopped a moment and nodded.

"Yeah, but you're not mad at me."

Jane couldn't help but groan, "I'm about to be, Maura this shouldn't be difficult."

"I shouldn't be forced to go along with your idea."

"Fine, I'm sorry Maura, you don't have to lie to your mother, I just... I'm being pushy and I apologize. I'll think of an easier way to spend time with you," Jane stepped closer to the girl, resting her hand on her cheek. "Do you forgive me?"

"As long as that was a sincere apology."

Jane nodded, "It was. Good luck with Garrett," Jane paused, looking into her hazel eyes, pressing a soft kiss on Maura's cheek.

Maura bit her bottom lip at Jane's soft, warm lips on her face. "Good luck with your fake illness," she smiled, and Jane laughed.

"Did Maura Isles just make a joke?"

"Well, you thought what I said was funny for some reason. I wasn't trying to make a joke. Can I leave first this time?" Maura asked and Jane nodded.

"Be my guest," Jane watched as Maura exited the bathroom, she sighed grateful for the tension that was gone between the two of them.
