It was about an hour later once Jane ended up slipping out of her hotel room, after Miss Saltzman did a nightly check to make sure everyone was where they needed to be. Walking down the hallways to Maura's room sent Jane's nerves taking over as she continued to tug at the bottom of Bridgett's dress. She rubbed the back of her neck before lightly tapping on the door, hoping that Maura could hear. Jane knew that Maura wasn't aware she was coming, she just hopes that Maura was awake. She tapped again, "Maura, are you up?" she whispered through the door. After a few moments she grumbled, "This was stupid, she's not going to answer Rizzoli," she scolded herself, turning to go back to her hotel room when she heard a door open. She turned back around to see Maura standing there, a silk robe wrapped around her body.

"Are you going to some kind of club or something?" she eyed the brunette, taking in her appearance.

Jane frowned at Maura's words, "I-no of course not. I can't believe she made me wear this thing."

"Who could force you to wear a dress? Especially one so revealing to your legs and butt," she asked, causing Jane's cheek to flush.

"My classmate wanted to help, apparently she seen us kissing in the hallway earlier. It's odd someone approving of me," Jane sighed, "So, did you want to join me? I'll be on a plane in the morning so this may be the last time I see you. I didn't mean to leave you in the hallway earlier but I knew you had stuff to do."

"Where are we going?"

Jane shrugged, "Just thought we could go for a walk or something." Maura nodded, smiling as she slipped inside, coming back minutes later. Jane smiled looking over Maura's appearance. "Wow, do you always look this good?"

This time it was Maura's turn to blush, she took Jane by the arm. "You're not going to get into trouble for disappearing, are you?"

"Wouldn't be the first time I got into trouble, but you're worth it," she didn't know why Maura made her feel so calm and relaxed, that's something that Jane never really was.

Soon they were outside, Jane looked up at the stars and moon, it definitely was a romantic night out, she was glad for her classmate's idea. She glanced over at Maura who looked so innocent, so beautiful in the light, Jane knew she would look at Maura Isles all day if she could. They both turned to smile at each other, Jane looking into Maura's hazel eyes, not being able to help herself, she pulled Maura into her, leaning down to kiss her soft lips. She knew Maura was taken aback, before melting into the kiss. Their lips moved together in perfect sync.

Jane pulled back moments later. "God, I could do that all day."

Maura smiled before speaking, "Scientifically speaking you can't kiss all day, you'll need to pull back at some point for breathing. Twenty four hours is a long time to be kissing someone you know, logically it can't be done."

"Scientifically speaking, you don't say," Jane smirked, causing Maura to pout.

"Are you making fun of me?"

"No, of course not. I thought it was adorable you ranting because you're nervous. I never had that affect on anyone before."

"Contrary to your belief I'm not nervous Jane," she put her hand on her hips.

"I rant too when I'm nervous, it's natural unless science says differently."

Maura stepped away from Jane, "If you're going to mock me I will just go back inside."

Jane frowned, seeing the hurt in Maura's eyes, "Shit Maura I'm sorry, I didn't mean I just... I'm nervous, like really nervous. I say stupid shit a lot and I apologize. Please I'll do anything to make it up to you," she stepped closer, her eyes begging Maura for forgiveness, taking her hands in hers. "I'm just not very good at this whole thing. I never had a real connection with someone before and honestly it scares the shit out of me."

Maura nodded, tears falling down her face, "It scares me too. Jane, no one has ever made me feel this way before. No one has ever made me feel this alive, this touchy feely. It's kind of overwhelming and I just I've been mocked a lot my whole life so I don't take it well, even though I know you tease because it's what you're used to, sort of like a defense mechanism, like mine is talking about things no one really cares to know about, it helps distract me from my emotions. I never cry in front of people besides my parents and even that is a rare occasion, I don't allow myself to show emotions because people see me as weak."

"Hey, I could never see you as someone who is weak. Emotions are natural to have and if you keep it all bottled up eventually you'll explode. I'm glad you can feel comfortable to open up to me. You're such a beautiful soul Maura Isles and I wish that people could appreciate it like I do," she cupped the girl's cheek, stroking the warm skin with her thumbs. "I want you to always be open and honest with me. I just, I really want you in general. I don't ever want to forget you, forget this. I hate how I have to leave in the morning when I could stay in this moment forever with you. You won't forget me Maura, will you?"

"You will always have a special place in my heart Jane Rizzoli. It'll be hard to forget you," she stepped closer to Jane, pressing her lips against the taller brunette's. Jane softly moaned, tangling her fingers through Maura's hair, Maura had really soft hair. Jane's other hand rested gently against Maura's hip, keeping her close. Maura felt something she never felt before in this moment, her knees felt weak and her whole body warmed. Maura Isles knew in that moment that she was aroused, causing her to pull back from the kiss. "I um, maybe we should sit down," she spoke softly and Jane nodded, looking for a bench, walking Maura over before they sat down.

"Can we still kiss some more?" Jane asked so innocently that Maura responded by pressing her lips hard against Jane's. Jane moaned into it, tangling her fingers through her hair again, Maura's hand rested on Jane's thigh as the kiss deepened. Both girls moaning at how warm and amazing the kiss felt, Jane noticed where Maura's hand was going and she rested her hand against it to stop her. "Maura..." she whispered and Maura nodded.

"Yes?"

"I um, this is embarrassing, but I never had um... I just I've never been... shit," Jane hated how she couldn't get her words out but Maura seemed to understand.

"We can stop if you like, I did probably overstep boundaries but we didn't really set any. If it helps, I am too."

"Wait you're a... but Garrett..."

"Their family is big on waiting until marriage, plus he's never had me aroused so..." she shrugged innocently.

"You never felt aroused before either?"

"No, this is the first time. We should slow down though. Is that okay, if we just sit here?" Maura asked and Jane nodded, wrapping her arm around Maura, pulling her close.

"I think it's more than okay. It's such a beautiful night out with the most beautiful person by my side, I'm perfectly content just like this," Jane kissed the side of her head. "I can't believe this night is going to end and I'll be back in Boston. I don't want you out of my life Maura."

"We can still keep in touch, I need to still give you my number, remember?" Maura smiled up at the brunette beauty beside her. "I'm not going anywhere, I'm yours Jane Rizzoli."

"Wait, you mean that?" Jane's eyes brightened up and Maura nodded.

"If you want me to be, I am."

Jane's eyes built up with tears and she nodded, "Yes, of course Maura. I'm yours as well, as long as you'll have me."

Maura smiled, resting her hand on Jane's cheek, pulling her into a short, yet soft kiss. "I think I'm going to want you for a very long time."

"You promise?" Jane asked and Maura nodded, kissing her again.

"Yes, I promise."

"Good," she smiled, kissing Maura again. This is something she could get used to. Jane Rizzoli felt happy, more content than she's ever felt.

Eventually they headed back into the hotel, holding hands, it was long after midnight, Jane kept on looking at Maura, just in awe that someone like her could get someone like Maura. When they stopped at Maura's door, she offered a small yawn. "Sorry I kept you out later than I planned," Jane offered her apologies.

"You never have to apologize for spending time with me Jane, we both know it's going to be a while before it happens again. I don't visit Boston often. I'll be right back," she whispered, kissing her cheek before going inside her room and coming out moments later with a piece of paper with her number on it. "You can call me at anytime, well at any reasonable time," Maura smiled, handing it to her. "I never done any sort of long distance thing. You sure you won't change your mind?"

Jane shook her head, "I won't. You're officially mine Maura, I promise, I want this. I want you."

"Well I guess that's settled then, goodnight Jane Rizzoli, I'm really grateful for meeting you, it sounds cheesy but you changed my life."

"You changed mine too," Jane admits, kissing her softly.

"Have a safe flight," Maura kissed her back, a little bit longer. Jane smirked when she pulled away.

"I should go before we continue this kissing and I lose track of time. Plus there's a chance someone is watching us in this damned hallway," Jane pulled away slowly from Maura.

"Sweet dreams Jane," Maura pressed one last kiss on her cheek before slipping inside. Jane just stood there for a moment, she couldn't believe this actually happened. Jane Rizzoli had a girl she only dreamed about having and she was generally happy.

"Who would've thought," Jane smiled to herself, looking down at the paper with Maura's number on it. She turned it over and smiled at the little note Maura left. Thanks for making me feel human. :) You're definitely one of a kind, never forget that.

Maura changed back into her pajamas, a smile looking back at her in the mirror. "So this is what real happiness is supposed to look like," she said to herself before heading to bed, Jane Rizzoli never leaving her mind. Tomorrow she was going to have a talk with her mother, tomorrow things would be different, Maura was ready to take on the world and continue this new life she had for herself.

Within the next few hours Jane Rizzoli was on a plane that would be heading back to Boston. She frowned because she had to sit by Gabriel Dean, what a way to ruin a perfect last night in Paris. Jane definitely wanted to come back here again in the future, with Maura by her side. Luckily she was tired enough to fall asleep. When Jane woke up a few hours later she felt an arm wrapped around her, she grumbled because she knew it wasn't Maura. "Get your fucking arm off of me Dean," she shoved him away.

"Come on Jane, I let you have your time with a girl in Paris. It's over with now, you can be mine again I know you just did it to spite me."

"You didn't let me do anything. I dumped you on your ass. And not like it's any of your business, but it's not over between me and Maura."

Gabriel rolled his eyes, "Long distance relationships never work out. It's a lost cause and you'll be bored of that and come back to me."

"You know, Joey said the same thing when he found out you and I were dating that I'd be bored of you, he was right about that but wrong that I'd go back to him. You both have this delusion that you think I want either of you. It's over Gabriel so get that idea out of your head because us, we're never happening again you might as well go get yanked by Joey, you're just his little bitch anyways," she all but shouted causing Gabriel to shrink down in his chair. "Oh did I hit a nerve?" she asked, lowering her voice. "Don't think I don't notice how you'd do anything for him even though he treats you like shit. He's just as much in the closet as I am. It's his defense mechanism, he's in denial so he drags you along, calls me a dyke because he's struggling with his own emotions. I know deep down he's hiding himself. You may be a pig but your deserve more than Joey Grant pushing you around. You deserve more than to be his bitch. Just think about what I said and if you touch me again you'll regret it."

"I... how do you know this? And why are you telling me all this?"

"Well mostly so you'll leave me the hell alone, but no one deserves Joey's abuse. And I know this because I went to your room one night when I was upset about Maura and I heard you and Joey. I never knocked on the door because it freaked me out. I didn't quite understand what was going on, but now I do. You will do anything for Joey and he's just going to keep using you, I'd get out while I can if I were you. That's the most toxic friendship I've ever seen," Jane leaned back in her chair. "Just think about it. I couldn't stand you as a boyfriend, but maybe if you act more like a human being there's a possibility that we can be friends."

"You mean that?"

"Yeah, but let's set some ground rules, we have a few more hours of the flight, let's just hope that's enough time," she laughed. The rest of the flight wasn't so bad Jane had to admit, her mind going back to Maura as she discussed with Gabriel ground rules for if they ended up being friends, Jane didn't think they could be friends, but as long as he stopped being a douche she would at least be able to stand him.
