Maura was busy with some school work while she waited for Jane to come over. Her parents were downstairs having one of their heated discussions that Maura had to wear headphones to block out the noise or she tried to anyways.

It was that way for about an hour then it suddenly got really quiet and Maura grew curious of what was going on now. She took off her headphones and went downstairs. Jane was downstairs embrace in a hug with Constance, Maura could sense the tense look on Jane's face, and Maura knew Jane wasn't really fond of human contact outside of her of course.

"Mother, I think you can let go of Jane now." Maura approached and Constance stepped away from Jane.

"My apologies Maura darling. I was just trying to comfort her."

"Why does Jane need comforting?" Maura asked and realize by Jane's tear stained face that she'd been crying.

"I'll let Jane tell you herself."

"Mother one more thing, what were you and father fighting about?"

"Oh that, don't worry about it. You take care of Jane and we'll talk later. I promise," Constance smiled at the two girls before disappearing into the study.

Maura sighed and turned to focus her attention on her girlfriend. "Jane sweetie, what's wrong?"

"Can we talk in your room?"

"Yeah," Maura took Jane by the hand and led them upstairs to her room. Jane looked around, the nerves about being alone in Maura's room. She decided to sit on the edge of Maura's bed, placing her hands in her lap. Maura sat down next to her, grasping hold of her hand, playing with her fingers. "So what's going on?"

"Everything... it's all a mess. Pop is leaving my mother, he gave her divorce papers today, apparently he's been having an affair for months and just found out when I was in Paris. When Admiral Frost dropped me off at home I caught Ma kissing Coach Korsak..." Jane spoke with such sadness and hurt it broke Maura's heart. "I knew they had their problems but I didn't think it'd ever get. I never thought..." Jane started sobbing at this point.

Maura wrapped her arms around Jane's shoulders, "I'm so sorry Jane, I'm so sorry that this is happening to you and your family. It sucks when you find out stuff like this."

"How do you know?" Jane asked defensively, making Maura flinch. The honey blonde haired girl got up from the bed and went to close the door.

"Because Jane, you have to swear to me you will not let this out of this room, that no one will know what I'm about to tell you."

Jane knew just how serious Maura was by the look on her face. "Of course I promise, it's just between us."

Maura nodded looking down at her feet, "My father had an affair with Garrett's mother."

"You're shitting me, right?" Jane looked up in complete shock.

"I wish that I was, believe me."

"Does she know, does your mother know?"

Maura shook her head, "I can't tell her..."

"Maura, what do you mean you can't tell her? Don't you think she deserves to know?"

"Of course I do Jane, it's just that... how can I break her heart like that. I may sound selfish but I want my parents to remain together, I'd do anything even if it means hiding the whole truth."

"I don't think that's fair to her Maura, you can't just hide something like that."

"To protect my mother I'll do anything to make sure she doesn't know. If you already knew that your father was cheating, would you have told your own mother?"

Jane shook her head, "I... I can't say that I could, but I didn't know so I'm uncertain how I'd really react. Seems like both set of parents between you and me have been a shit show. Does Garrett know about your dad's affair?"

"Yes and we both agreed to keep it a secret. Plus they haven't done it again, so that's okay then."

"And you know for a fact that it hasn't happened again?"

Maura began to nod but stopped herself, "As a matter of fact no I don't know."

"My friend Bridgett said Garrett is coming down to Boston this weekend, did you know about this?"

"No, I had no idea. His parents aren't coming, are they?"

"She didn't say. We should get back to our real problem, well I guess it would be mine. How am I supposed to go home and face Ma, not to mention my dad just bailed on my brothers, my family..." Jane slumped her shoulders. "I don't know what to do Maura, should I even go back, I'm 18 legally I don't have to stay at home... but then I'd be abandoning my family and I'd be just like him..." Jane stated hyperventilating, freaking out about what to do.

Maura cupped Jane's face, looking into her eyes to try and calm her down. "Hey, Jane look at me. You aren't abandoning your family, you're scared and upset surely your brothers would understand. Nobody should judge you for trying to cope in your own way, I definitely don't judge you," she leaned over to press her lips against Jane's only for a second. "You're worried about hurting your family, that's something your father didn't think about, you care so much and you can deal with this situation however you please. And just remember, you don't have to do this alone. I'm here for you."

Jane rested her forehead against Maura's, "How do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Say things and get me to calm down, get me to feel so relaxed."

"Because we're perfect for each other, we just fit."

Jane blushed at Maura's words before kissing her softly, deepening the kiss in mere seconds, before she climbed on Maura's waist, and laid her down onto the bed, pinning Maura's hands over her head.

Maura groaned at her girlfriend's actions, "Jane, wait. Are you sure you want to do this when you're upset?"

"I'm not upset right now Maura, and I was going to come over tonight anyways, remember. Come over and be intimate with my girlfriend. Nows a good time as any."

"Jane, I think we should wait..." Maura sighed and Jane got off of Maura's waist.

"Fine, we'll wait," Jane pouted.

"Jane, don't be mad."

"I'm not mad Maura, a little disappointed, but never mad. How can I ever be mad at you?"

Maura smiled, "I just wanted to make sure. Guess you have to go home at some point?"

"Or I can just stay here with you."

"As much as I'd like that you should go home and be there for your mother."

"I'm sure she's fine, plus she has Coach Korsak to comfort her," Jane rolled her eyes.

"That's kind of odd isn't it?"

"More odd than your father with your boyfriends mother?"

Maura frowned, "Jane, that isn't fair. I'm trying to be concerned for your situation."

"Come on Maura, you know I didn't mean it like that."

"You're right Jane, and I'm sorry. I just rather forget my father could do such a thing."

"I won't bring it up anymore Maura, scouts honor." Jane leaned her head against Maura's shoulder. "It's odd we're going through the same scenario, isn't it?" Jane mentioned after a moment had passed.

"Jane, that's not not bringing it up," Maura shifted herself away from Jane.

"I think I'm gonna just go..." Jane sighed, getting up from the bed, Maura reached out and grabbed Jane by the hand.

"Jane, please don't go yet."

"Why not? I just keep putting my foot in my mouth. I'm too all over the place. I think I need to be alone."

"But Jane..."

"I'll just see you in the morning after a good night's sleep."

"At least let me walk you out."

Jane nodded, "Okay, if you insist." Maura got up and held her girlfriend by the arm as she walked with Jane to the front door. "Well Maura, I hope you have a good night, wish my visit was under better circumstances."

"We can plan for something to do this weekend if you'd like. It'd be nice to avoid Garrett at all cost."

"Yeah, well bye," Jane gave Maura's cheek a quick kiss before she turned and waked away.

Maura watched with sadness in her eyes as Jane left, it hurt knowing that Jane was going through this whole thing. Maura was grateful that her father still stuck around, she wish it didn't have to end for Jane's parents. Jane was pretty tough, she couldn't stand seeing her girlfriend so sad and upset. Maura would do anything she could to cheer Jane up, that's what you do when you're in love.

After Jane walked a little bit she decided she would go see Barry and catch him up with what was going on. So she ended up at his house, instead of knocking on the front door she figured he would be in his room. His blinds were slightly opened, she knocked on his window. She laughed seeing him jump from his bed, and scurry to open his window.

"Jane, what the hell? You scared me there is a front door you know."

"I just thought remember when I got scared or angry when we were younger and I snuck through your window because I didn't want your dad to get mad. Can I come in?"

Barry thought for a minute and nodded, Jane came through the window, not before hitting her head. "I think you're too tall to be doing this now."

"Maybe just a bit."

"So why was Coach Korsak at your house?"

"My dad left Barry, he didn't say goodbye to me, gave Ma divorce papers. Coach was comforting my mother with his ugly ass mouth."

"Wait really? How desperate is that man? Isn't he going through another divorce you said?"

"Yeah his third and his hands were all over my mother," Jane shook her head in disgust. "Apparently Pop was having an affair... she found out when I was in Paris. Hence their small arguments or fights they told me were nothing. I can't believe that shit. I went to Maura's for a bit afterwards, I kept on saying stupid shit so I left."

"Jane Rizzoli saying stupid shit? That's nothing new," he smirked and Jane punched him in the arm. She sat down at his desk and ran her fingers through her hair.

"I don't know what to do Frost, I don't want to go home, I can't stay at Maura's. Maybe I can..."

"Jane, my father will flip if you're in my bedroom."

"Well what the hell do you expect me to do?"

Barry looked at his friend in concern, "Fine but only for tonight, you have to face your mother at some point."

"I'll face her tomorrow," Jane pulled out her phone and texted her mother that she was staying at Frost's house.

Angela sent back that she was worried about her and wants her back home, but she understands why she doesn't want to be, but expects her back tomorrow.

"Alright, Ma knows I'll be staying here. Wants me home tomorrow."

"Okay, so did you want to take my bed, and I'll sleep on the floor."

"Don't be silly Barry you keep your bed, the floor is comfy enough."

"Jane, I insist."

"I'm not sleeping in your bed Barry Frost, I will need some clothes tomorrow for school. Borrowing some clothes is a good exchange for me on the floor," she placed her backpack on the floor and stole a pillow from Frost's bed. "Do you have a blanket?"

Barry nodded, and went to his closet and grabbed an extra blanket. "Here you go and feel free to borrow whatever clothes you want, we're pretty much the same body build. Did you eat dinner?" he asked his friend, throwing a blanket at her.

"Trust me, I'm not hungry," she answered, snuggling up underneath the blanket and Frost was concerned.

"You're always hungry Jane, at least promise you'll eat something for breakfast."

"Yes Ma, I'll eat something," Jane rolled her eyes. "Good night Barry."

"Good night Jane," Frost went to go lay on his bed and shut off his lamp. "Sweet dreams."

"Back at ya," Jane muttered.

The next morning came, Jane was woken up to a bird chirping outside, she groaned. That wasn't the only noise she heard. Jane sat up on the floor and Frost's eyes were closed, his one hand moving underneath the covers.

"Barry, what the hell?" Jane smacked his shoulder, causing Frost to jerk upright.

"Fuck Jane, I'm sorry... that's... I wasn't... I forgot you were here..."

"Please tell me you weren't thinking about..."

"You? Of course not Jane."

"Oh thank God, that would have been very disturbing. I don't even want to know."

Frost nodded, "I promise you that you don't want to know..." his cheeks still flushed.

Jane nodded, going through Frost's closet for something to wear. "Do I know the person?"

"Jane, come on, wasn't that embarrassing enough that you caught me... y'know?"

"Was it Maura? Because I swear to God."

"Calm down Jane... it wasn't..."

"It was Maura, wasn't it?! I'm going to kill you Frost!" Jane snapped.

"For crying out loud Jane, it wasn't Maura, and it wasn't you... I just, I can't tell you who."

"Well why not?" Jane crossed her arms, staring at her best friend.

"I just can't okay?" he spoke sadly. "Please just trust me."

"Fine, I think I'm going to go home and face my mother. I feel kind of weird since I didn't eat last night and I wouldn't want you to be stopped completely from finishing yourself off to whoever you're thinking of. I'll expect your father to pick me up in an hour."

"Jane..."

"Don't worry about it, sorry for freaking out on you. Those Snickers commercials are right, you're not you when you're hungry."

"I'll say," Frost finally cracked a smile and watched as Jane climbed out the window. Once Jane disappeared Frost sighed, pulling out his cell phone, dialing a certain someone's number. "Hey, so it happened again. I think I have a problem..."

When Jane made it home, Angela was making coffee. "Oh good morning Jane... I thought you'd be over at Barry's for breakfast."

"I decided I should come home, see how you're doing since he's not here."

"I really am sorry for the shock you were going through last night. We can discuss anything you want, you can ask more questions... I want to be open to you about this, since your father didn't want me saying anything. Your brothers are eating breakfast. I can make you a plate."

Jane just nodded, "Maybe Maura can come over after school or something? I mean since Pop wouldn't have approved of my choice in mate and he bailed on us. You did say you wanted to meet her."

Angela smiled, "I would love to meet Maura, Janie, if it's okay with her parents being her over. She can get some amazing home cooked Italian food."

"I'm sure it'll be okay, and you're going to fatten me and my brothers up, aren't you?" Jane smiled, maybe not everything would be so horrible in the end. She could be open about who she was in this house now, her mother would probably go on some kind of cooking spree and that was kind of worth it.

Thanks for reading this chapter. How will Maura cheer Jane up, who exactly was Frost thinking about/calling after Jane left, and how will Maura meeting Jane's family go? I'll try to update soon, would love to hear your thoughts on these questions.
