Okay, after our last time with Holy Order, I decided to take a step back. Some of you said, that I bypassed some parts of Gate. So I decided to return in time by few weeks in the story time and at least do one of these bypassed parts. Because, well. It needs to be shown, how Resistance got their agents in Sadera.

Also, this chapter might be a bit shorter, than the others.

Now, to the business.

Chapter 21

,,Spy games"

July 26, 2150

22:43

Akusho District, Sadera

Akusho, also known as the Red Lights District. Part of the glorious Sadera, which was known from several things. Mainly gangs, brothels and other bands of criminals roaming around and fighting each other. But it wasn't like that the beginning. Before, it was pretty popular part of the city, visited even by the highest-positioned senators and government officials. Some even said, that some Emperors like to visit.

This all changed one hundred years ago, however, when people within the district said, that they had enough of Saderan oppression and decided to rise against the City Guard. It went as good as you might expect. The rebellion failed and soon, entire district was cut off from the rest of the city, with City Guard never entering it, unless they had to. This is why Akusho became heaven for gangs and smuggles, as well as slave traders. All of this could thrive without being monitored by anyone.

What, of course, was perfect for Resistance.

"Check your gear once more."ICTA agent said.

After being transported near the city vicinity by a Stealth dropships, Resistance intelligence officers managed to find a way into Akusho through the small gate in the wall, which wasn't used for some time, as it was covered by various plants. After that, they slowly made their way down the streets of the district and soon, they came into view of their target. A certain brothel named 'Playful Elf'.

"So, what's the plan, Felix?"Nashini agent asked.

ICTA agent looked at him.

"According to intel, this place is ruled by the man named Besara."Felix replied."From what we also gathered, inside the building, there are around twenty guards and one boss, which lives on the upper floor. Alongside them, there are all the girls that work there. From what we also know, the girls hate Besara, but don't want to show this."

All of this information came from Resistance capturing campaign. For weeks now, Resistance operatives were capturing and interrogating smugglers and gangsters, which decided to leave the safe walls of Sadera, only to never return, after Resistance got rid of them. Fortunately, these information were enough to plan the operation on taking over the tebernacle.

"And when it comes to plan, we simply get in, kill all the guards and take the place over."the Human ended.

"Sounds good to me."Shakayan agent said.

Felix one more time looked in the direction of the building which they wanted to take over and took a deep breath.

"Okay guys."he said."Let's get the shit rolling."

And with these words, the agents made their way towards Playful Elf. They looked around, making sure nobody is observing them. Soon, they stood in front of the door. Felix once more looked at his companions.

"Silencers?"he asked.

"On."the two replied.

Felix nodded and turned to the door again. He then knocked and waited for what was to happen.

Not long after, a small gap in the door opened, showing only eyes of someone, who was inside.

"It's closed."he said.

"We have a delivery for your boss."Felix said.

Eyes on the other side risen their eyebrows.

"Delivery?"the man asked.

"Yes. But we need to give it to him personally. Without broker."ICTA agent explained.

There was a short silence on the other side. Three agents looked at each other, don't knowing, if the man believed them or not. Only thing they could do, was to wait few more seconds, until they finally got their answer.

"Alright. You can enter."he said.

Felix smiled.

"What an idiot."he thought.

Not long after, sound of latches and locks on the door was heard and door slowly started opening.

"Boss is…"the man said, when the door opened.

What he saw behind them, were three figures and three barrels pointed straight at him. Man had no chance of saying anything, when Felix fired, taking him out. The three then entered inside and looked around.

"Clear!"Nashini said.

"The same!"Shakayan said.

Then, the door on the other side opened and an orc walked out of them. Seeing three hooded figures and his head companion, he immediately grabbed his sword, but two shots from Shakayan agent quickly ended his life.

"Nice shot, Jadren."Felix said.

"No problem."Jadren replied.
"Secure the rooms. Jadren, take care of the ground floor. Klo, you take out the first floor."Felix ordered.

"And you?"Klo asked.

Felix smiled.

"I will take care of the boss."he said.

The two nodded and quickly went to perform their respective tasks. Soon, Jadren entered another room, in which he saw several guards sleeping. One of the guards sat up on his bed and looked at the strange figure in his room. Jadren, in the meantime, aimed his light machine gun and before anyone could say anything, filed the room with bullets, killing the guards and painting their sheets red.

As this was happening, Felix and Klo were making their way up the stairs. Suddenly, another orc guard came out of the room and stood atop the stairs. He had a knife in his hand and looked at the two figures in front of him.

Felix immediately charged at the orc and rammed him. Orc, however, was strong enough to withstand this and stayed on his legs. Felix aimed his weapon at him and fired at his legs, what made the orc fall to his knees. He then pulled his own knife and slit the orc's throat. Beast fell on the ground.

"That was cool."Klo stated.

"Thanks."Felix replied."But now, focus on your job."

Klo nodded and the two walked in different directions.

Immediately, Nashini started doing his task, as he walked into another room, where he saw several guards trying to stand up from their beds. They all looked at the strange creature, that appeared in the door and for few seconds, nobody moved even an inch.

Finally, one of the guards reached for the knife laying next to the bed and tried to charge at the agent, but before he could, his face exploded, hit by the bullet. Other guards quickly started taking their weapons, but Klo was faster and room was filled with muffled gunshots. Bodies fell on the floor one after the other and soon, everything went quiet.

Suddenly, something started moving on one of the beds. Klo quickly aimed his assault riffle in that direction, preparing to pull the trigger once more, fearing face of another orc guard or Human.

But what he got instead, was sleepy face of a girl with dog ears on her head. Soon, more female faces started appear on the beds and all of them looked at him. Their eyes were then filled with fear.

"Um…Hello?"Klo said, unsure.

Meanwhile, Felix came up to the door leading to the main room on the upper floor. It had a golden nameplate on it with word 'OVERSEER' written on it in Saderan. Felix immediately guessed, who's room it is. He slowly grabbed the handle and started walking inside, eying the insides of the room.

He saw desk, some papers on it, several paintings on the wall, some other furniture and a bed. He slowly opened the door fully and stepped in, making his way towards the bed. There, he saw a man, calmly snoring, like nothing was happening.

As quietly as he could, Felix walked towards the man. When he was next to him, he let his riffle to hang on his arm, while he reached for his silenced handgun. His hand then covered man's mouth. Man opened his eyes, trying to scream, but gun pointed at him silenced him.

"Don't you ever dare to scream."ICTA agent said."Now, stand up. Fast."

Man obeyed to the instructions and slowly got off of the bed. Felix noticed, that he was only in underwear, what should be expected. But then, agent noticed another thing, which he didn't earlier. Man was not alone.

On the bed, there also was a woman sleeping. She had dark skin and long, blonde hair. She slowly opened her eyes.

"What is…?"she tried to ask, but stopped, seeing unknown person, silencing the boss of the building.

Immediately, she jumped off of the bed, with no clothes on. But this wasn't what brought Felix's attention. What he looked at, was the pair of wings on her back.

"Should be expected after fantasy world."he thought and said to her."Don't worry, I'm not planning to hurt you. Just dress yourself."

Woman looked at Felix and the boss for a few seconds, before she too obeyed with the order.

"After you dress, come down."ICTA agent added, leading the man out of the room and onto the stairs.

On the lower floor, it started to get pretty crowded. Klo and Jadren were there already. Additionally, several other Resistance agents now entered the building and started finishing securing it.

Alongside them, was a group of women in various ages and of various species. They all looked confused and scared, fearing, that their home was just taken over by a new gang. However, what was most terrifying, was a creature, sitting in the chair in the middle of the room. Covered in black, with red lines all over it's body and with two hellish dogs next to him. Women started to fear for their lives.

Not long after, the woman from boss' room joined them. It was at this moment, that Tertan, which was in charge of the operation looked at Felix.

"Is that everyone?"he asked.

"Yes, sir."Felix replied."Guards taken care of and these are the workers."

"Okay then."

Tertan then looked at the girls in front of him. Most of them looked pretty young, maybe the same age Humans designated as teenage. They looked at him with true fear in the eyes and probably feared, that they become food for his Xarars. Tertan decided, that it was time to comfort them somehow.

"You don't have to be scared."he said in Saderan, what clearly surprised them."Griit and Mewo won't hurt you."

This seemed to calm some of the girls down, but not much. At least, now they knew, that they could talk with this creature.

"Who…"one of them finally said."Who are you?"

"Do we have to be ready for new rules?"another asked. It wouldn't surprise her.

"How much do we have to pay you?"another wanted to know.

Several more questions started appearing, forcing Tertan to lift his hand to silence them.

"Easy, allow me to introduce myself first."he said."My name is Fertid Ohronog, officer of Tertan Federal Intelligence Service, TFIS in short."he then smiled under his helmet."But you might know me and my companions as Other Worlders."

Girls then simply stiffened. Of course they knew about Other Worlders. Many of their customers lately talked about people from beyond the Gate. About their power and how they swept great armies like flies. Most of them feared, what would've happened, if these 'barbarians' entered Sadera.

And now, they were here.

"What do you want from us?"the winged woman asked.

Tertan looked at her.
"Excuse me, I don't know your name, miss…?"

"Misery."

"Miss Misery."Tertan said."Allow me to explain anything. This isn't any takeover by hostile gang and we won't force you to anything. We just wanted to have any place to operate inside the city. We won't force you to anything and we won't intervene with your life. You just have to pretend, like we were not here."

Misery looked at this creature on the chair with suspicious look. With it's face covered by the helmet, she couldn't say if he is lying or not. But right now, she had to other choice, but to trust him and what he is saying.

"Sooo…what now?"a Warrior Bunny in the back asked.

"Now, ladies"Fertid said, standing up. It was at this moment, that girls noticed, that his legs bent doubly"we would like to make some medical tests on you. To check if you are sick or if you need any form of fast medical care. But don't worry, it's not for any work of yours."

He then pointed at the two military medics, which came with the agents. Some girls were reluctant, while other went with the medics to the other room.

"What do we do with him?"Felix asked.

Fertid looked at the brothel's boss and smiled under his helmet.

"Let me tell him something."he said and came up to him.

He then leaned to his ear and started whispering. Brothel's boss listened, nodding from time to time. Few seconds later, he ended.

"Understood?"Fertid asked.

"Y-Yes…"the boss replied.

"Good. Now, go."the Tertan said.

Felix let the boss go. Not thinking twice, the man, just in his underwear, ran out of the building and into the Akusho.

"Why are you letting him go?"Misery, which still was in the room, asked.

Felix and Fertid looked at her and smiled.

"To deliver a message."Felix said.

Later that night…

Besara's Mansion

"They did what?!"Besara exclaimed.

The man which was in charge of The Playful Elf just stood there and listened to his boss' shouting and could only shiver in fear. He knew, what Besara was doing with people, that failed him and he knew, that he will be met by the same fate.

"They…taken over…The Playful Elf…"he said, less sure.

Besara just looked at the man in front of him with fury in his eyes. He couldn't believe it! Someone was brave, or stupid, enough, to simply take over one of his most profitable properties and even sent someone to tell him about it. Who these people even were to dare to do such thing? Oh, he would have his revenge.

"Get him out of my sight."Besara said.

Two guards then came up to the man and grabbed him by arms. Next, they started pulling him out of the room.

"And gather my men. We're taking back The Playful Elf."Besara said.

"But sir…"brothel's former boss said."You will die…"

"We shall see."Besara said.

Next, he walked out of the room. Few minutes later, he and a small army of his men left the mansion, with screams of agony as their farewell.

03:33

The Playful Elf

Two Resistance agents were sitting on top of the brothel's roof and observed the street leading towards the building. They were armed with sniper riffles and had to be the first line of defense and information in case of any form of attack. But right now, they just sat there, observing the area.

"Wish we could have the same fun as Felix."a Chakdrik said.

"Yeah."Human replied."The only thing we can do is sit here and wait for nothing. Sucks as fuck."

"Maybe we could have some fun with these girls?"Chakdrik proposed.

Human agent looked at him.

"Boss said, that it's prohibited."he said."And I think you wouldn't like to have his Xarars after you."

A shiver came down the Chakdrik's spine.

"Yeah, you're right."

Right then, something reached their ears. As they listened closer, they recognized the sound of large amount of feet hitting the dirt road.

"I think we have company."Chakdrik said.

Human grabbed his sniper riffle and looked in the direction, from which the sound was coming from. And what he saw, was a large crowd of Humans, goblins, orcs and other Faliens, with one man leading them towards the building they were now sitting on.

"Yes, we have."Human said, activating his communicator."This is Overwatch-1. We have hostile armed group coming towards us."

"How many?"Felix asked.

"Around a hundred, hundred fifty. Surely Besara."Human said.

"Understood. Tell us everything about their moves."Felix ordered.

"Will do."Human said and continued to look down the scope.

Inside the former brothel, Felix looked at the rest of the Resistance agents. They had their weapons ready.

"Set up the defenses. We have incoming."he said.

Agents quickly started standing up and walking to the windows. Girls in the building were looking at this with anxiety.

"What's happening?"a wolf-girl asked.

"Just stay low and stay quiet."Felix said.

Girls didn't said anything else. Felix joined his agents.

On the outside, Besara's group already came in sight of The Playful Elf. The criminal boss still couldn't believe, that someone took one of his properties. But from what the brothel's former boss said, there were only twenty enemies to deal with. This shouldn't be hard, he had numerical advantage after all. It surely won't be pretty for the ones occupying the building.

The group reached the courtyard in front of the building and looked at it. Besara stepped in the front of his little army and eyed the brothel from top to bottom.

"Whoever you are, listen!"he shouted."You might don't know, but you occupied my property!"

He waited for any kind of reaction, but got non. He continued:

"Honestly, I can forgive you your stupidity, unless you come out of there and surrender to me! Then, I maybe let you live!"

Agents just looked at each other.

"He got some guts."Chakdrik agent said.

"Can't argue with that."Felix said.

Besara continued to wait for the response coming from the brothel. However, it was still quiet on the other side.

"Alright, I see you have chosen your fate!"the criminal boss exclaimed.

He returned to his men and was quickly surrounded by a group of bodyguards. Next, he put his hand in the air.

"Ready…!"

His bowmen and crossbowmen loaded their weapons.

"…aim…"Besara continued.

Before he could finish, however, the door inside the building opened. Besara could not help himself but smile.

"I knew you would…"He was again cut off.

This time, by two reddish-black shapes, which shot out of the building and threw themselves at his men, starting to massacre them left and right. Before anyone could say anything, two Xarars belonging to Ferid managed to put down for good around twenty men.

Besara's men, after shaking themselves from the initial shock, tried to attack these two beasts. But before they could, all hell broke loose, when agents on the roof and in the windows started firing at the criminals. Bullets and lasers fell on them like rain, quickly killed more of them, again much to Besara's shock. His personal army was just lowering in numbers in front of him, faster than anything he ever saw.

In the windows, Felix just sighed. Honestly, he was almost pity for all these bandits and criminals. Key word, almost. This couldn't be called anything else, than simple crowd control. But well. It's a part of work.

"Keep firing boys!"Ferid ordered.

Some of Besara's archers and crossbowmen managed to climb atop the nearby buildings and noticed two agents on the roof, which seemed clueless about their presence. They though it was a perfect opportunity. They quickly aimed their weapons.

But then, the entrance on the brothel's rooftop opened and Shakayan fired his LMG at them, easily mowing them down.

Human and Chakdrik agents on the rooftop almost jumped, hearing this.

"What the…?"Human asked.

"Watch all your sides next time, newbies."Shakayan said and returned back inside.

The two looked at each other and back towards the fighting on the street. There, nothing much changed, bullets were still falling on the criminals.

And as suddenly as it started, it was over. Whole street was now decorated with over a hundred dead or dying bodies. Agents in the building just looked at this with satisfaction. They lowered their weapons.

"Well guys, this was pretty easy."Felix said.

"Agreed."Shakayan agent said.

Felix then looked back at the girls, which now returned to the main room.
"Everyone alright?"he asked.

"Yes…"one of the girls said.

"Good. Stay inside, while we…"

"One is running."someone suddenly said in Felix's communicator.

He turned to the window.

"What?"he asked.

"We have one of them on the run. Should we take him out?"sniper on the roof asked.

Felix quickly grabbed his binoculars and looked at the single, running person, which turned his head to look at the building one last time. Felix immediately recognized Besara. He smiled under his breath.

"No, let him go. Others will take care of him."Felix ordered.

"Alright."sniper said.

Felix continued to watch Besara run, until he vanished from his line of view.

Later…

Near Besara's mansion

Besara was almost out of breath, as he ran down the muddy road. His eyes were focused on everything that's in front of him. He tried to think of something else, to throw what just happened out of his head. He still couldn't believe, that all of this was true. In just a matter of seconds, he lost of all of his little army. Who even were these people? With devilish dogs, magic capable of shooting fire and able to easily sweep the floor with his men. He quickly had to rebuild his power. But first, quickly to his mansion.

However, when he reached the building, he was met with unexpected sight. He saw his wife and children outside, dressed only in their night clothes.

"What are you doing here?"Besara asked.

His wife looked at him with tears in her eyes.

"They threw us out!"she exclaimed.

"Threw you out? Who?"Besara wanted to know.

"Besara!"someone shouted.

The crime lord and his wife looked behind and immediately felt dread all over their bodies. In front of them, there was a giant crowd of people approaching them with torches and any kind of sharp tool they could find. It seemed, that in such slums, news about crime lord loosing all of his thugs spread really quick.

"No! Stay away! Don't come closer, you savages!"Besara shouted.

But the crowd didn't listen. They continued to move forward.

"You!"someone shouted.

Besara looked in the direction of his mansion and saw a strange creature with triangular head, with some kind of cape. It stood in the door and pointed inside.

"Get in!"he ordered.

Normally, crime lord would never listen to anyone's orders. But now, he had no other choice. He and his family started making their way towards the building. His wife and children entered, however, when he wanted to get in, he was stopped by the creature.

"What?"Besara asked.

"I didn't said anything about you. Only they."Nashini said.

Besara widened his eyes.

"How…How dare you?!"he exclaimed."You even know, who I am?!"

"Yes. And this is why I say 'farewell'."Nashini said and entered the building, closing the door.

Besara was now left outside. He looked behind him and saw the crowd standing just few meters away. He gulped.

Not long after, the crowd charged at him. He was dragged away from the mansion and crowd got to their work. After that, his body was left there, to rot in the street, as people returned to their homes, like nothing happened.

Meanwhile, inside the mansions, Nashini agent activated his radio.

"This is Nit'Ged. Hef'Afdra is operational."he said.

And there it is. As I said, it was a bit shorter. But now, you know, how it was with Resistance agents in Sadera, how they got there and how they took over some of Besara's facilities. Now, after this time jump, it's time to get back to main story. And you know, what that means. Time to go to Shwarz Forest and take care of the Elecdrago!
