He didn't know what to think nor did he know what to say. Words sat there in the back of his throat like burning acid. His heart aching as he watched her walk away.

Her words echoed over and over in his brain, repeating like an old record. But the saddest thing was. Despite everything, his lust to claim her, his animalistic urges to make her his mate and everything that was making contact with her so difficult. Her words and her expression and the things she said. It was true. Not the part about being a temporary replacement, but the fact that she wasn't some OBJECT that requires an owner. And... And that he really never made his feelings known towards her, instead he'd make smart ass remarks and piss her off until she decided to go down the well for a few days.

He never realized it until now. He made her feel like a tool, a carry on, a heavy burden. His never showed her affection.

Koga glared at him. Anger bubbling to the surface of his throat.

" YOU JUST GONNA STAND THERE MUTT FACE AND LET HER WALK AWAY. GO AFTER HER YOU JACKASS. "

Inuyasha huffed and turned his back on Koga, sheathing his sword.

" What's the use?"

" What's the use?...your the reason she left in tears you dumbass. If you care SO damn much then go DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Prove it, make it clear to every other demon out there that Kagome is YOURS. Prove it to me. Mark Her, and I'll back away. Right now she's open game to any demon. "

The thought of some other demon claiming Kagome had his blood boiling again.

Koga was speaking the truth. As much as Inuyasha hated to admit it. " Psh... didn't you hear what she said moron?...she isn't some object that people can claim" he said it through tight lips.

" And...she's absolutely right....YOU on the other hand"

His voice got venomous. He cracked his fingers. Eyes starting to bleed through again. He grabbed Koga by the scruff of his collar. And lifted him up. " YOU EVER SO MUCH AS HARM A HAIR ON KAGOME'S HEAD OR PLACE YOUR LIPS ON ANY CREVICES OF HER BODY. ILL TARE YOUR TONGUE OUT AND RAM UP YOUR ASS. THEN AFTER WORDS WHEN YOUR SPITTING AND GAGGING ON YOUR OWN BLOOD. ILL CUT OFF EACH AND EVERY FINGER. EACH FINGER THAT VIOLATED HER FLESH" he said through a growl

He released Koga and he feel to the ground holding his throat coughing. " Psh...you don't scare me half-breed , you can bark all you want but ain't anything you said that has me quivering in fear. Why waste useless words on me when you have more important things to be doing...like I dunno going after a very steamed up priestess."

He got up and dusted himself off. " Remember what I said dog turd. You don't mark her. She won't be yours to proclaim. And regardless of YOUR threats, next time you won't stand in my way" Koga turned and ran, a whirlwind trailing behind him.

So there he stood. In a big empty field with his thoughts, his regrets and a deep overwhelming sadness.

He completely forgotten about the others who stood back in regards of the situation.

Miroku looked away and Sango just stared at him intensely.

He walked over to them and while doing so regained his composure. " You both knew how Kagome felt, didn't you? "

Sango gasped and looked up at Miroku who at that moment refused to make any eye contact with Inuyasha.

" Why didn't you tell me?" He asked desperately

Miroku couldn't handle the desperation that he heard crackle in Inuyasha's voice. He sighed and opened his eyes. " It shouldn't of been up to Sango and I to tell you Inuyasha. Kagome's feelings were plain to see, you were just to blind to see it for yourself. "

Sango's eye were wide she never knew Miroku to be so bold.

Inuyasha just sighed, not denying the monks words. " Your right..all week all I could think about was... claiming Kagome. Everything about her was driving me ANIMALISTIC. I could feel her without actually touching her...I could...could " he shook his head, they might've been Inuyasha's friends but there's something's friends themselves have no right knowing. " I was avoiding her for her own safety. I didn't realize that my lack of communication would cause her to think I didn't like her"

Sango and Miroku just glanced at one another not knowing how to really respond.

The wind blew his silver hair to the side. He inhaled deeply. He could still smell her tears mixed with the scent of disappointment. He balled up his fist and refused to end things this way, so he took off without one word to the others.

" well, that's rude" Sango said crossing her arms.

Miroku shrugged " Did you expect anything less? "

As the wind dimmed and the sun begin to slowly set. He thought to himself he could make this right, he had too. And this time he wasn't gonna fuck it up. His been in the shadows way to long, Without Kagome's light to guide him. he was practically a blind man staggering without a hand to hold. He swallowed the taste of anguish and hoped to hell it wasn't to late.
