Hello everyone! And welcome to the next chapter of The Light in the Flames! I hope you all are staying safe during these times as we go into February and if I don't get this chapter out soon Happy Valentine's Day! I will also be skipping "The Deserter" and "The Northern Air Temple" since Zuko doesn't show up in those. With that said, let's begin with the new chapter of "The Waterbending Master".
Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts or Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Chapter 13: Preparing for Battle
(Prince Zuko's Ship, Medical Room)
Sora was resting on the medical bed, slowly breathing in and out until his eyes opened. He looked around to see no one else but him in the room. He got up from the bed while cradling his head and made his way outside, noticing how quiet the ship was.
"Zuko? Uncle Iroh? Anyone?" Sora asked, his voice echoing across the vessel. He soon reaches the door and pushes it open, only to see the deck empty as well. He looked over the side to see the still water below and the ship moving to the tide.
"What is going on?" He asked, his voice echoing again. Suddenly the deck began to grow darker, and he looked up in shock to see the dark sky to see a ball of light slowly being swallowed up by the blackness.
"LIGHT EXPIRES…" a disembodied voice spoke from the sky. Suddenly, a tremor shook the ship, making Sora fall to the ground as a huge, fiery wave of darkness rose up next to the small vessel. "…AND DARKNESS RISES," the voice continued. Suddenly, the wave lunged right for the young prince, who quickly dodged out of the way. The wave let out a screeching like sound as it hovered around the vessel. Sora quickly got up and shot a burst of flames at it, but the fire was absorbed by the wave and launched back at him at high speeds, knocking the boy to the deck. He groaned in pain as the wave lunged towards him again. He quickly got up and fired a Thunder spell at it, pushing it back towards the side of the deck He then gained an idea summoned a huge wave from the sea below to flood the dark wave. He then froze it with a blizzard spell, keeping it in one place. With a fierce yell, he leaped into the air and shattered the wave with a fiery kick. The ice particles fell around him as he started feeling dizzy from his head injury and collapsed to the metal floor. He looked up the dark sky, only to see a new ball of light in the sky.
"DARKNESS FALLS…AND LIGHT PREVAILS," The voice replied.
"W-What?" Sora asked. He gained no answer as the sea level began to rise, swallowing both the ship and him, obscuring his view in darkness.
"Ah?! Huh?" Sora exclaimed, waking up from his sleep, finding himself back in his room, laying on his bed. He slowly sat up and cradled his head a little. It's been a week or so since their encounter with June and the Avatar and it was only a few days after that he awoke from his injury. He still had a small white cloth tied around his head but beside that, he was back to normal, though the dream was anything but normal.
"What did that all mean? About darkness and light? And what was that thing I faced?" Sora asked himself. He shook his head while taking the cloth off. "I need some air," he said, getting dressed and walking out of his room. He soon reached the door and opened it, only to see Uncle Iroh and the crew playing some music while sitting around a small fire. The ship was docked at a nearby port, allowing the crew to rest or buy anything that was required. Lieutenant Jee was playing a small lute; Captain Ling was on the drums and Iroh was singing while the rest danced. They stopped playing when they heard Sora's footsteps grow closer.
"Ah Prince Sora. I hope we did not wake you," Iroh said.
"No, Uncle. Just had a strange dream. Where's Zuko?" Sora asked.
"Prince Zuko is currently resting. We all know how he is," Ling replied, still playing a small beat on the drum. Sora sat down next to them as they continued to play while Uncle sang.
"Winter, spring…Summer, and fall…Winter, spring…Summer, and fall…Four seasons…four seasons…for love," Iroh sang, while some of the crew members got up to dance. Sora smiled and began to sightly sway to the music while watching the fire flicker before him. The music continued until they stopped at Iroh's call.
"Prince Sora, would you like to sing anything?" Iroh asked, surprising the crew and making Sora look down in embarrassment.
"You can sing?" Jee asked.
"I-I learned from my mother. She used to sing to me as a child," Sora stuttered out.
"Besides the former Queen, Prince Sora has one of the best voices in the family. You must hear him," Iroh said, sitting down.
"Uncle," Sora begged.
"Please Prince Sora. You must show us your talent," Captain Ling asked. The young Prince sighed but nodded, making them cheer.
"Can you follow along with me?" Sora asked and the players nodded. He smiles and begins to remember the lyrics. "Ohohohohohoh…. I need more affection than you know," Sora sang, while the band members followed along. He continued to sing as he remembered where he first the song from long ago.
(Many Years Ago, Fire Nation Royal Palace)
"AAAAAHHHH" Baby Sora cried as Ursa held him in her arms, trying to put him to sleep.
"Oh, shhh, Sora. It's okay," Ursa said. The baby kept crying, even though Ursa hummed several lullabies to him. Suddenly, Azula came walking in with her ears covered.
"His cries are louder than most animals!" Azula shouted.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just can't seem to get him to sleep. I've fed him, sang to him but nothing has worked," Ursa said.
"Well, isn't he a picky child. There must be something that he wants," Azula said, looking at Sora belongings, including his wooden crib. She inspected the small carriage until she noticed a small piece of paper tucked into the small pieces of wood. She pulled it out an unfolded it to see a list of lyrics for a song.
"Mother, how about we give this a try?" Azula said, bringing the sheet to Ursa. The princess took the sheet and read it over.
"Where did you find this?" Ursa asked.
"In Sora's crib. Perhaps he might prefer that over what we use," Azula said. Ursa looked over at the still crying Sora and nodded her head. She cleared her throat and started singing.
I need more affection than you know
In you and I there's a new land
Angels in flight (I need more affection than you know)
A sanctuary, my sanctuary, yeah
Where fears and lies melt away
Music will tie (I need more affection than you know)
What's left of me, what's left of me now
Sora's crying soon died down as he watched and listened to Ursa while Azula sat down and listened as well.
I watch you
Fast asleep
All I fear means nothing
In you and I there's a new land
Angels in flight (I need more affection than you know)
A sanctuary, my sanctuary, yeah
Where fears and lies melt away
Music will tie (I need more affection than you know)
What's left of me, what's left of me
The small baby soon began to close his eyes and rest his head on Ursa's shoulders. Azula was simply entranced by the lyrics and how Ursa was singing.
So many ups and downs
My heart's a battleground
I need true emotions (I need more affection than you know)
I need true emotions
You show me how to see
That nothing is whole
And nothing is broken
In you and I there's a new land
Angels in flight (I need more affection than you know)
A sanctuary, my sanctuary, yeah
Where fears and lies melt away
Music will tie (I need more affection than you know)
What's left of me, what's left of me now
My fears, my lies
Melt away
I need more affection than you know
Ursa soon stopped singing and looked down to see Sora sleeping on her shoulder. She smiled and looked down at the piece of paper.
"Guess I'm committing this song to memory for him," Ursa said, standing up and placing the small boy in his bed.
"That song was…surprisingly soothing. And it put him to sleep so quickly," Azula said.
"Yes, I'll be sure to share this with you and your brother in case I'm not here. It seems to be the only thing that works for him. Now come, he needs his rest," Ursa said, urging Azula out of the room while putting out the candles that lit up Sora's room. Azula managed to catch one more glimpse of Sora before the door closed.
"Sleep well, Sora," Ursa said.
(Back in the Present)
"Melt away," Sora sang, slowly bringing the song to an end as the band stopped playing. Most of the crew members wiped some tears away from their eyes while others applauded, Iroh being among them.
"Well sung, Prince Sora," Iroh replied, making the boy smile as they got back to playing another song. Suddenly, they heard several footsteps walking up their ramps and Sora turned to see who it was, his eyes widening in response. Standing there was Admiral Zhao with a smirk on his face and two soldiers at his side. Iroh and the crew followed his gaze as the music stopped while the Admiral clapped.
"Yes, very well sung Prince Sora," Zhao commented as he walked closer. Uncle and nephew share a glance of worry as Sora stood up to face Zhao.
"How can we help you today, Admiral?" Sora asked, bowing.
"Prince Sora, I'm planning an expedition to the Northern Water Tribe, and I am in need of your men's services. So, I shall be taking them now," Zhao said as more soldiers walked up the ramp, making Iroh stand up and shocking Sora.
"What?!" Sora yelled as Zhao's soldiers lead the ship guards away.
"Admiral Zhao. I must ask that you reconsider this decision," Iroh said.
"It's too late, General. I've already called in all nearby ships to participate, and arrangements have been formed. Prince Zuko cannot attend though due to his banishment, but you and Prince Sora are more than welcome to join me and leave him behind," Zhao offered. Sora's face contorted to anger at the offer, but Iroh placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"We must discuss this with my brother," Sora said.
"Of course, they are his men," Iroh replied. Zhao huffed but nodded and walked towards the tower with Iroh leading the way. Sora was about to follow when he heard two pairs of footsteps behind him, and he turned to see Captain Ling and Lieutenant Jee standing there.
"Captain, Lieutenant," Sora said.
"I believe this will be the last time we see each other Prince Sora. On behalf of the men and ourselves, we wanted to say farewell and wish you luck in your hunt for the Avatar," Captain Ling said.
"It's been an honor serving under you, Prince Zuko, and General Iroh," Jee said, bowing along with Ling. Sora smiled and bowed to them in response.
"The honor has been ours. Good luck to you both and may Agni watch over you," Sora said, straightening back up. Ling and Jee did the same before disembarking the ship. Sora watched them leave before catching up with Zhao and Iroh. The three soon walked through the tower halls and arrived at Zuko's room. Sora opened the door and poked his head in along with Iroh.
"Zuko-"Sora said but was interrupted by his brother, who was laying on his bed.
"For the last time, I'm not playing the tsungi horn!" Zuko yelled out.
"No, it's about our plans. There's a bit of a problem," Iroh spoke up when suddenly Zhao pushed past them and entered the room.
"What?!" Zuko asked, getting up from his bed in shock.
"I've recruited them for a little expedition to the North Pole," Zhao explained.
"Is that true?" Zuko asked Sora and Uncle.
"Yes, he's taking everyone…even Captain Ling," Sora said, looking down.
"And the cook too," Iroh said, covering his face in sadness.
"Sorry you won't be there to watch me capture the Avatar. But I can't have you getting in my way again," Zhao spoke up. Zuko went to charge him, but Iroh held him back. Zhao walked around the room until his eyes landed on Zuko's broadswords, which were hanging on the wall. Zuko and Sora shared a brief glance of worry while Iroh remained out of the loop. The admiral takes one sword off the wall and gives one practice swing.
"I didn't know you were skilled with broadswords, Prince Zuko," Zhao said.
"I'm not. They're antiques. Just decorative," Zuko quickly defended.
"Have you heard of the Blue Spirit, General Iroh?" Zhao asked.
"Just rumors. I don't think he is real," Iroh replied. Zhao smiled and handed the sword to Sora, who simply took it back.
"He's real, all right. He's a criminal, and an enemy of the Fire Nation. He even made an attempt of Prince Sora's life," Zhao said, making Sora look down at the floor. "But I have a feeling justice will catch up with him soon. General Iroh, Prince Sora, the offer to join my mission still stands…if you change your mind," Zhao said, about to walk out of the room. Suddenly, a pair of footsteps echoed through the halls as a messenger barged in, almost running into his superior.
"Admiral Zhao!" The messenger yelled.
"What is it?" Zhao asked. The tired guard held up two rolled-up scrolls in his hands.
"These messages were just delivered. One for you and one for Prince Zuko, Prince Sora, and General Iroh. They came from Princess Azula directly," The guard said, surprising the four occupants in the room.
"The Princess?!" Zhao said, grabbing his message.
"Azula?" Sora said at the same time, while Zuko took the message. They each unrolled the scrolls and began reading.
To Admiral Zhao/Prince Zuko
Due to recent news of Admiral Zhao's attempts to forcefully recruit Prince Sora to his side against his wishes, the Fire Lord himself has decreed that Admiral Zhao is not fit to lead the invasion against the Northern Water Tribe and is henceforth forbidden from commanding the attack. Furthermore, Lord Ozai has commanded that Prince Sora has full authority for the invasion, due to Prince Zuko's banishment and General Iroh's retirement. Any command or wish of attack will come from him and him alone. These orders come directly from Fire Lord Ozai himself.
From Princess Azula.
The tension in the room grew crazily quick as the occupants read the scrolls. Sora took the scroll and re-read it while Zhao face's contorted into anger.
"He-he wants me to lead the invasion?" Sora asked.
"You…little…brat!" Zhao yelled, advancing towards Sora while a dark aura appeared on his shoulders. Sora backed away until Zuko stepped in front of his brother while Iroh blocked Zhao, surprising the Admiral and making the aura disappear.
"Admiral Zhao. I don't believe it would be in your best interest to harm Prince Sora, seeing that he is now your superior. We've seen what my brother has done with this simple report. It would be most interesting to see what he does with another report," Iroh replied. Zhao stared him down before taking a breath, making the aura disappear.
"Very well. What…is your command, Prince Sora?" Zhao asked, his anger still dripping in his voice. Zuko and Iroh turned to Sora, who was still looking down in thought.
"I…I don't want to do this without Zuko," Sora said, making Zuko smile slightly but Zhao let out a breath in anger.
"Even if you are in command, your brother is still banished by direct order of your father. To include him in this invasion will be an act of treason," Zhao threatened.
"I believe it would be best if we had some time to ourselves to come up with a plan, Admiral. Why don't you go gather your men and ready them for battle? We'll report to you as soon as possible," Iroh said. Zhao huffed but nodded before walking out of the room with Iroh following along. The brothers were left alone in the room as Sora sat down on the bed with his head in his hands.
"So…what are you thinking?" Zuko asked, sitting down next to him.
"I…I don't know. I knew Azula was gonna do something about Zhao's actions but not something like this. I don't even know how to lead an invasion! Where do I start?!" Sora asked.
"Let's try not to think of anything too crazy first. We need to consider every option in front of us: The Water Tribe, The Avatar and Zhao. We know The Avatar is heading to the Water Tribe to learn water-bending and Zhao wants to conquer the Tribe for his own ego," Zuko said, leaning against the wall.
"I won't do this without you, Zuko. If anyone deserves getting the Avatar, it's you. Not Zhao. And I won't do this with him at our side," Sora replied.
"Thanks Sora. But as much as we despise him, he is right. My banishment won't allow me to participate, and the captains won't listen to you if I'm there. You need them on your side or else Zhao will find a way to turn them on you," Zuko said. His brother nodded in understanding and kept thinking until Iroh returned.
"The rest of the crew wanted me to wish you both safe travels," Iroh said.
"Good riddance to those traitors," Zuko remarked.
"Loyal soldiers. Hopefully, they'll be safe," Sora said before looking at Iroh with a desperate look. "Uncle, what should I do? I don't want to work with Zhao and I want Zuko to be there," Sora said. Iroh stroked his beard in thought, walking around the room.
"There might be a way to work this way to our side," Iroh replied.
"How Uncle?" Zuko asked.
"Listen well: Sora and I go with Zhao to keep watch on him and his actions during the siege. In the meantime, Zuko, you will go disguised as a common solider on Zhao's ship and when we reach the Water Tribe, you and Sora will go and retrieve the Avatar. You will gain your prize and we'll prove that to the rest of the Fire Nation that Zhao is no longer to be trusted," Iroh proposed. Sora and Zuko thought over the idea as Iroh sat on the mat on the floor.
"I think it might work. It's the only plan that seems plausible at this moment. Zuko?" Sora asked. Zuko shook his head while sitting down on his bed.
"I don't think so. Zhao knows how loyal you two are to me and I don't think he'll buy you just leaving. He'll think something is up. We need another plan," the older Prince said. Sora and Iroh sighed in response as they all thought up another plan until Iroh stood back up.
"It's a lovely night for a walk. Why don't you join me? It would clear your heads," Iroh offered.
"I could use a walk," Sora said, standing up.
"Zuko?" Iroh asked. The older Prince didn't say anything as he laid down on his bed. "Or you can just stay in your room and sit in the dark. Whatever makes you happy," Iroh said, walking out of the room. Sora cast a look towards his silent brother.
"We'll figure something out when we come back, alright?" Sora said, and Zuko simply responded with a nod. "See you soon, brother," the young prince said before walking out and closing the door. Sora caught up with his uncle and the two walked off the ship and out into the valley where the ship was docked. Sora had his hood and cloak on as they waked in case of any possible thieves.
"It is a beautiful night, Uncle," Sora admitted, looking up at the night sky.
"It is most important to appreciate the world around while you can, nephew," Iroh said.
"Uncle, I-I can't stop thinking about all this. What if Zhao ends up consumed by this darkness and we can't stop him? What would we do? How would we explain it to father?" Sora asked.
"If it does come to that, nephew, then I'm sure you'll find the answer, as you always do. As you said to us, your heart is full of light and it will lead you to the right path," Iroh said.
"Do you think there is any chance of us redeeming him? Bringing him back to the light, I mean?" Sora asked.
"Look at the sky. What do you see?" Iroh asked. Sora looked up and saw many stars blinking above him.
"Stars?" Sora replied.
"Yes, stars…lights in the darkness. Even in the vast areas of space, there is always a light to show the way. Vice versa, there could always be a small hint of darkness in the greatest of light. It is possible, that even in Zhao's great moments of darkness, there may yet be a spark that could be redeemed. But it will be difficult to do so, of course with Zhao's thought process," Iroh said, making the two chuckle.
"Thanks Uncle," Sora said. Iroh smiled and nodded in response as the two continued their walk. They continued their walk for another 15-30 minutes when suddenly they heard a huge explosion back at the port, making them look back to see the fireball.
"The ship…Zuko!" Sora yelled, taking off into a full-blown sprint back toward the vessel with Iroh following behind him. The young prince ran frantically until he reached the burning vessel, only to see another explosion erupt from it, the shockwave knocking him to the ground. He picked himself up while Iroh caught up to him. "ZUKOOOO!" Sora screamed as tears streamed from his eyes as he fell to his knees.
"Zuko…" Iroh spoke up as tears fell from his face. Sora kept crying as his tears fell to the ground
"I…*sniff*…I-I can't lose him! I-I can't!" Sora cried. Iroh kneeled next to his nephew and embraced him in a hug as ash started falling around him. Iroh looked towards the ship until he noticed a familiar shape wading in the water.
"Sora, look!" Iroh said, pointing to the water. Sora looked up and his eyes widened to see Zuko, floating in the sea, next to the beach.
"ZUKO!" Sora yelled, discarding his hood and cloak and running into the water with a dive. He swam towards his brother and carried him out of the water and onto the shore. Zuko was, by all accounts, alright but had some cuts and tears on his face and body. Iroh ran down towards them while Sora checked his brother's breathing. The young prince used his waterbending to get the water out of his brother's lungs, but he still didn't wake up. "Come on, Zuko! Wake up, please!" Sora screamed, performing chest compressions on his brother but still nothing. He kept going until Iroh placed a hand on Sora's shoulder, trying to stop him.
"Sora! You must stop! Please!" Iroh begged, crying as well. Sora pulled away in response.
"NO! I'm not losing him! Not after all this! C'mon, Zuko! Don't give up!" Sora screamed again. As he continued the chest compressions, a green aura started glowing from his hands and as he made one more compression, the aura transferred to the older Prince and glowed brightly around him, surprising Sora and Iroh. Zuko suddenly opened his eyes and let out a few coughs, bringing smiles to his family members.
"ZUKO!" Sora and Iroh screamed in excitement as the young prince embraced Zuko in a bear-hug. Zuko coughed at the tackle but smiled and hugged Sora in return.
"I'm…ok…Sora. I'm ok," Zuko coughed out.
"I…I thought we lost you," Sora said, still in tears.
"I'm not going anywhere, brother," Zuko said. Smoke and ash continued to cloud around them while Iroh kneeled next to them.
"You gave us quite a scare, Prince Zuko," Iroh replied.
"It was…pirates…the ones from before. They blew up the ship," Zuko said, catching his breath.
"What?! Those…they'll pay for this!" Sora said, breaking the hug with his brother.
"But how did they know our location?" Iroh asked while the brothers thought the same thing until they all came to the same conclusion.
"Zhao," They all said.
"He…did this. Tried to kill me to keep me out of the invasion," Zuko realized.
"I cannot believe Zhao would stoop so low. Does he have no honor?" Iroh asked.
"No Uncle. He doesn't, not after this. He's non-redeemable now. He needs to be stopped," Sora said. Iroh slowly nodded while Zuko slowly stood up with their help. They all stared at the burning vessel as it started slowly sinking into the water.
"You're right. It's time we bring an end to Zhao's interference. Uncle, your plan…I'm in," Zuko said, turning to look at them with a small smirk on his face.
(Later, at the Fire Navy Base)
Iroh and Zhao were sitting at a small table in front of a flag hanging in Zhao's personal room on his flagship. After the explosion at Zuko's ship, Sora and Iroh went to the Admiral to report the news and seek refuge.
"I'm devastated to hear about Prince Zuko. Just…devastated," Zhao said to Iroh as some tea was poured for them.
"The Fire Lord will not be pleased when he learns who was responsible," Iroh said.
"You know who was behind the attack?" Zhao asked, curiously.
"Yes…pirates," Iroh said, banging his fist against the table and making the teacups shake. "We had a run-in with them a while back. They wanted revenge," he said.
"Where is Prince Sora? I thought he would join us?" Zhao asked.
"He is in mourning. He did lose his brother after all. I'll be speaking for him until he is able," Iroh said. Zhao nodded and took a drink of his tea.
"So, has he reconsidered about the siege?" The Admiral asked. Iroh took a sip as well before placing the cup on the table.
"He has…and he has authorized the attack on the Northern Water Tribe, and you are allowed to participate," Iroh said, making Zhao smile in delight. "But…he has a few conditions: 1.) You are to follow every order Prince Sora says. Failure to do so will result in your removal from the invasion. 2.) Prince Sora will not participate in the battle. He wants to see how well you perform and if we encounter the Avatar, only then will he assist you in your plights. Do you accept these conditions, Admiral Zhao?" Iroh asked. Zhao narrowed his eyes before taking a breath.
"I accept the conditions presented by Prince Sora," Zhao answered.
"Then welcome to the siege, Admiral Zhao," Iroh said, raising his glass to the air. "To the Fire Nation," Iroh saluted.
"To victory!" Zhao saluted as well, both taking another drink.
(Meanwhile, with Sora and Zuko)
Sora quickly ran into his room and kicked the door closed; his arms full of pieces of armor for a common Fire Nation solider.
"It's me, you can come out," He whispered. Zuko walked out of the shadows of the room, now wearing a simple white tunic. The young prince smiled and placed the armor on the ground. "Hopefully, it's the right size," he said, shaking his arms. Zuko smiled and started putting the armor.
"Thanks Sora," Zuko said.
"Of course. Now, I'm still in 'mourning' so I won't be of much help to you now, so talk to Uncle if you need information or anything else. Just stay hidden until we get to Water Tribe, then, I'll be able to join you in hunting the Avatar," Sora said, while Zuko put the rest of the armor on and the white mask over his face.
"Thanks again for doing all this, Sora," Zuko said.
"Don't thank me, it was Uncle's idea remember?" Sora joked making them laugh for a little. Sora embraced his brother, who returned with his own.
"Stay safe, Zuko," Sora said.
"You too, brother," Zuko said. The two brothers broke apart and Zuko walked out of the room. He kept a far distance from any other soldiers and officers until he walked past Iroh.
"Did Sora inform you of the plan?" Iroh asked.
"Yes," Zuko said.
"Good, our plan is working perfectly. Zhao doesn't suspect a thing," Iroh replied.
"You didn't have to do any of this, Uncle," Zuko answered.
"Please, no nephews of mine are going through this plan without some backup," Iroh stated.
"Thank you, Uncle," Zuko said when suddenly a door opened next to them.
"Someone's coming. Stay hidden until we get to the North Pole and the Avatar will be yours. Good luck," Iroh whispered as the two parted ways.
(Meanwhile, In the Northern Water Tribe)
It was a new morning in the Water Tribe as Aang trained with Master Pakku, the waterbending master of the north. He gathered up a blob of water in his arms and tries to turn it into a stream and launches it forward.
"Not bad, not bad. Keep practicing and maybe you'll get it by the time you're my age," Pakku joked, making Aang look at him in annoyance. The frown soon turns into a smile as Katara came running into the training circle.
"Hey Katara!" Aang said, making her smile.
"What do you think you're doing? It's past sunrise. You're late," Pakku said, making the two students smile.
"Good to see you here," Aang said.
"You, too. And Master Pakku, before we start, I wanted to ask you something?" Katara asked.
"Depends on how important it is, otherwise were wasting precious time," Pakku replied.
"We recently encountered someone who also waterbended, a boy who was raised in the Fire Nation. We wanted to know if anyone here could recall a boy like that?" Aang asked.
"He'd be about 12, has brown spiky hair and blue eyes?" Katara asked. Pakku thought it over before shaking his head.
"I don't recall any children or parents looking like that in our village. You may ask the Chief and Princess Yue if they remember anyone like that. But as for I do not," Pakku answered.
"We see, thank you for the information, Master Pakku," Aang said, bowing along with Katara.
"Now, let us continue with the training," Pakku ordered.
(Later, with the Fire Navy Fleet)
Zhao and Iroh stood at the top of the tower on the lead ship in the fleet, while dozen more vessels awaited behind it.
"The fleet is ready, General Iroh," Zhao said with an angered frown.
"Very well. Prince Sora has given the order, set a course for the Northern Water Tribe," Iroh said, as the fleet began to move towards the north, smoke and ash following in their wake.
