Episode 8: Fighting on the Dance Floor
It's been a few days since Cloud and his two apprentices: Conan and Grace arrive to be Phoenix's personal trainers, and Phoenix plans to work hard with her new powers. Now, Conan and Phoenix are in the gym working on their combat training. Charlie, Vaggie, Angel, Kyuubi, and Zǐ Māo along with Cloud and Grace are watching then practice.
Charlie says, "I have to admit, I never expect to be a strong fighter."
"Yeah. She's actually pretty good. She might have the same powers of an Overlord if possible," Vaggie says.
"I don't know about that, but she is a fighter, especially for her transformation," Charlie says.
The group continues to watch as Phoenix continues to try to strike at Conan, but he is moving fast for her.
Conan says, "Alright Phoenix, against an opponent who dodges you that well, you'll get only one chance to counter the attack. That one chance should be enough. Of course, it will be a risk to take in order to strike your opponent."
"Right," Phoenix says.
Phoenix continues to throw punches and kicks at Conan. Finally, she sees her opportunity to strike, so she is able to kick him in the stomach. Then she grabs his arm and throws him over her as he crashes to the ground. The gang then clap their hands to see the performance Phoenix has given.
"Well down, you're quite the fast learner," Cloud says.
Conan sits up, "Yeah. You learn more quickly than I do."
"Thanks,"Phoenix says.
"Well, it seems the young Hybrid won that round," A familiar radio voice says.
Everyone turns their heads to see Alastor and Niffty walking into the gym.
Nifty giggles and says, "And the wolf demon lost."
"You can say that again. It just makes me want to train harder because I have a strong opponent," Conan says with a smirk.
Phoenix says, "I feel the same way, and so that I can use my abilities at its full potential."
"Glad there is a gym here. Otherwise, Phoenix and Coana might end up wrecking the hotel," Vaggie says.
"Hey, I've been training for a long time and I'm always careful. I train in my uncle's bar a lot and I never break anything. That's because I made sure to move all the tables so I have an open area," Phoenix says.
"That seems smart, but won't be good if you break something," Charlie says.
Phoenix sighs, "Yeah. You're right."
Cloud says, "Well then, since the combat training is done, we might as well call it a day. You two did an excellent job."
"Yes Cloud sensei," Phoenix says, and bows.
Cloud looks at Phoenix looking a little surprised.
"What's wrong?" Phoenix asks.
"It's nothing, it just it has been a long time since I was called sensei," Cloud says.
"What does that even mean?" Angel asks.
"It means teacher in Japanese. I can tell Phoenix is Japanese by looking at her, despite her having tan color skin. I actually speak and read Japanese so I can understand what she's saying," Nifty says.
"Really? I didn't know you understand Japanese," Phoenix replies, surprised.
"I do. Not only that, I clean, cook, sew, and can run really fast," Nifty happily says.
Grace then walks to Phoenix, "Hey Phoenix, I think we should go out tonight. Conan and I know this great restaurant you're going to love and it has a dance floor."
"Much as I like to, but I don't know if it's a good idea," Phoenix says, concerned.
"Why not?" Angel asks, shrugging his shoulder.
Vaggie sighs and says, "Because she's a walking target. If anyone sees Phoenix and recognizes her from the news, they'll try to capture her for who knows what."
"I'm sure there's a way to let Phoenix go out. I don't want to keep her quarantine while she's here," Charlie says.
"You do have a point, but the point of the matter is to keep your cousin safe," Vaggie says.
"What's so bad about it. She's going to be hanging out with me and Grace" Conan says.
"Yeah. You don't mind if I tag along for the ride," Angel says.
Zǐ Māo raises his hand and says, "I like to go too."
Kyuubi barks with a smile.
"See. She'll have four demons and a little one with a fox tagging along with her. She'll be perfectly safe," Angel says.
"As long as you don't go get her involved with another Turf War along with that bomb throwing friend of yours," Charlie says, concerned.
"Um guys, what about my appearance? I mean, how many demons besides me that have tan skin, gold yellow eyes, and long fire color hair," Phoenix says.
"Hmmm, close to… none," Alastor answers with a grin.
"Exactly. If any demon sees my appearance they'll recognize me as that hybrid from the news involved in that Turf War, and go after me," Phoenix says.
"Not to mention you kicked those Shadow creatures asses," Angel adds.
Vaggie groans, "Urgh! The point Phoenix is making is that she sticks out too much, she looks more human than demon, even when she's in that demon form. Any demon who sees her will recognize her and try to capture her on the spot."
"Well then you'll just leave that to me," Grace says.
Then turns to Niftty, Charlie, and Vaggie, "And I'm going to need you three to help me out."
Phoenix blinks her eyes with a confused expression.
Moments later, the girls are inside Phoenix room.
Grace says, "I think since you're Japanese, a Japanese like demon will suit you."
Grace then pulls out a long sleeve qipao-style dress. The dress is red with yellow laces on it, and on the left side has a fire bird of red, orange, and yellow, and has an opening on the right side.
"This dress will do nicely. We're going to need some black tights, a hair bun cover, and some makeup, hairbrush, and some hairbands," Grace says.
Phoenix asks, "You sure this will work?"
"I will be hoping so. I was thinking of seeing if you can make your wings appear and your eyes change colors, but that might make the demons recognize you," Grace says.
"Probably best, plus, I don't know if I can just make my wings appear and my eyes change without transforming," Phoenix says.
Niffty brings out a makeup bag and a brush, "I got the brush and makeup bag."
"And I did find some tights and some shoes," Charlie says, holding the tights and shoes.
"Qipao-shoes, perfect," Grace says.
Then she rubs her hands together, "Now, it's time for me to work my magic. You're going to be a gorgeous demon when I'm done."
"Sure," Phoenix says with a smile.
Soon, Grace begins to work her magic. Phoenix makes sure to take a shower, so she will be clear after her training. Then Grace uses a blow dryer and a tower to dry up Phoenix's long hair. Phoenix puts on the clothes Grace has given out for her, and Grace puts Phoenix's hair in a bun with some hair sticking out through the bun and goes down. Grace then puts the bun in a bun cover and has the remaining hair stick out through it. Grace also places some makeup on Phoenix.
Finally, Grace finishes brushing Phoenix' bangs a little, and says, "There. You're ready."
Charlie, Vaggie, and Niffty are astonished.
Nifty happily says, "You look so pretty."
"I have to admit, you do look like a Japanese demon like demon," Vaggie says.
Charlie happily says, "This is amazing. I'm sure you'll be able to get out without being noticed."
Then Charlie nervously says, "I hope."
Down at the lobby, all the men and the little boy wait patiently for the girls to be done with Phoenix's disguise. That's when Grace and Niffty are the first to head down the stairs.
Grace happily says, "Attention everyone! I'll be happy to announce that Phoenix is ready!"
Charlie and Vaggie arrive as well.
"Yeah. She's ready," Charlie says.
She then turns her head, "Come on, Phoenix."
"Okay," Phoenix says.
Phoenix then walks out and down the stairs to show everyone her new look. Phoenix is wearing the red Japanese dress with gold laces, it has a firebird on the left and an opening to her knee on the right, with black tights and black shoes. Her hair is in a bun that is covered by a red bun cover and some hair sticking out and going down. She is wearing red eyeshadows and black mascara and a bit of blush, and black nail polish. She is also wearing red orange earrings, and a red spider lily flower on the bun.
Husk and Zǐ Māo are surprised to see Phoenix looking pretty. Angel also whistles at the sight of Phoenix's appearance. Cloud and Alastor simply look at her with calm smiles. Conan however is a different story. Seeing Phoenix so beautiful in the outfit is different than when he first met her. He feels his mind racing, his dead heart pounding, and his cheeks are beginning to turn red.
Phoenix asks, "So um, what do you all think?"
"I think you look very pretty," Zǐ Māo says, showing a happy expression.
Angel grins, "Yeah. You look beautiful, toots."
Angel then walks to Phoenix and places his hand on Phoenix's shoulders.
"In fact, maybe we can go out sometime, just the two of us," Angel says showing his sharp teeth. That cause Phoenix to blush a lot.
Vaggie takes Phoenix away from Angel and glaring at his face, "Don't even think about it you Slutty Spider!"
"What? I just want to take her out sometime," Angel says, acting offended.
"Not so you can do whatever you want with her!" Vaggie says.
"What?! I'm not going to have sex with her!" Angel says.
Soon, the two begin arguing again as Grace rolls her eyes with annoyed expressions. Phoenix turns to Conan, and he becomes stunned as his cheeks are beginning to turn red.
Phoenix walks up to Conan, "So um, what do you think?"
"It… it looks amazing," Conan quickly says.
He calms down with a deep breath and says, "I mean, it looks nice."
"Thanks," Phoenix says with a smile.
Grace says, "Now that Phoenix is all dressed up, let's head out and have a great time. And everyone gets to go."
"Then let's go," Phoenix says.
Vaggie whispers, "I'm worried that this is going to go south really fast."
"I know, but we could at least give Phoenix some freedom. Don't worry, I made sure to ask for Conan and Grace's phone numbers, and they'll let us know if anything happens," Charlie says.
"And with Angel with them, I think trouble is going to come sooner than they think," Vaggie mutters.
"Try to relax Vaggie. I'm sure everything will be okay," Charlie says.
Vaggie simply smiles in reply.
Sometime later, some of the group from the hotel went to the restaurant and dance floor where Grace talked to them. In the building, it shows there are sinners and demons having food at different tables and yet, in the middle of the room is a large dance floor where all kinds of demons dance to the music. There are also a few runways and platforms where some are doing pole dancing.
Sitting at one of the larger tables are Phoenix and some of her friends. So far, Grace, Conan, Zǐ Māo, and Angel Dust are the only ones who decide to have some fun. Everyone else is either busy or just doesn't feel like going out. The group is eating their dinner and it actually tastes good, even though it's made by demons. At least, that's what Phoenix thinks.
"Wow. This place looks amazing, Grace. I'm actually glad we came here," Phoenix says.
"I knew you'd like it. Maybe after we eat, we can go dancing," Grace says.
"I don't know. I've never danced before. What if I mess up?" Zǐ Māo says, nervously.
"You don't mess up when it comes to dancing. Dancing is basically moving to your own feet. Sure there are some dances that have certain steps, but it's mostly you in control," Angel says.
"He's right. Dancing can be so much fun. I actually did some dancing at my school," Phoenix says.
"With your uncle owning a bar, you probably did some pole dancing," Angel says.
"Uh… no," Phoenix says.
"Like she's into it," Conan sternly says.
"Actually, I have an aunt who actually is one of those dancers who also uses a pole. She tried to teach me when I was fourteen, but I fell and ended up hitting my head," Phoenix says.
"That sounds painful," Grace says.
"Yeah. I'm okay with Pole dancing, but when I try to go upside down, that's what I suck at. Besides, Pole dancing isn't really my thing," Phoenix says.
"Well you have your likes and dislikes," Angel says.
Then stands up, "Now that we're done, let's go to the dance floor."
"I'm game," Phoenix says.
Then takes Zǐ Māo hand and says, "Don't worry, I can help you dance."
After they finish eating, the group gather around the dance floor and begin to dance the night away. Lucky, Phoenix hasn't received any unwanted attention from her appearance. Phoenix also helps Zǐ Māo dance a little because this is his first time dancing. The two begin to smile with glee to be dancing together. Soon, Angel and the two siblings begin to notice.
"Those two seem to be having fun," Conan.
"I have to agree, the little cat demon is coming attached to Phoenix," Angel says.
Grace smiles and says, "I think it's actually sweet. Those two seem close, they can be siblings."
Suddenly, a loud explosion from the entrance to the place. The demons who are close to the door are blown away. The music screeches to a stop and the demons around the dance floor, including Phoenix and her friends turn their heads to see a gangster of demons. There are twelve dark bats like demons wearing some gangster clothes like leather jackets, torn up shirts and pants with dark boots. They all have sharp claws and yellow color eyes, and different kinds of weapons. One bat is taller than the others and this one has dark hair and has a nose ring.
The dark haired bat calls out, "Hello you fuckin sinners! We're making this place our turf, so you better scram if you know what's good for you!"
At the dance floor, Phoenix groans and says, "Great, we just had to run into gangsters while we're here."
"More than that. The large one is known as Nightshade, and his gang the Black Nights. They're known for being very ruthless to any demon, and cause all kinds of trouble," Grace says.
Suddenly, they hear the Bat leader known as Nightshade say, "If you're not going to get out, then we're going to make you."
With that, the bats begin to charge and attack the demons in the building, even the employees. The demons either begin to fight back against the demons or run away in fear in order to stay alive. Phoenix is shocked to find herself in another fight that seems to be a way to claim a new turf.
Angel laughs, "Well, it looks like we're going to have some real fun."
"I was thinking the same thing," Conan says, crackings his knuckles.
Grace sternly says, "Absolutely not, we promised Charlie and Vaggie to not get ourselves, and especially Phoenix involved in another fight."
"Come on girl, we're not getting Phoenix involved in this, we're just going to have ourselves a good fight," Angel says.
"Yeah sis, stop being such a nag," Conan says.
"A nag?!" Grace angrily says, feeling insulted.
Suddenly, they hear a loud scream. Phoenix and the others quickly turn their heads to see the Bat Gang Leader on the stage and is holding a demon girl by having his arm around her neck. The demon girl seems to be a fish like creature. Well, she has a human-like body, but parts of her skin like her legs, arms, and face are covered in light green scales. She has fin-like ears and her hands have webs that are light green and light yellow. Her hair is also an ocean green color with ocean blue eyes. She is wearing a single teal dress and has seashell and pearl like accessories on her hair, ears, left wrist, and right ankle.
The bat leader laughs and says, "Well well, it looks like I got myself a little fishy. And she's quite a catch."
The female fish demon begins to shed tears and begs, "You're hurting me, p-please stop."
"Aw, ain't that fucking cute. You think I will let you leave do you," Nightshade says.
He then pushes her to the ground and then places his foot on her back, preventing her from getting up.
"Hate to break it, but us Bat Demons don't take kindly to wimps," Nightshade says.
He then begins to pressure his foot on the girl's back, making her scream in pain and cry more. She begins to beg someone to help her. Seeing the girl scared and in pain, makes Phoenix's blood boil with pure anger. Phoenix then leaves the group from the dance floor as Grace argues with Angel and Conan. Phoenix is able to find the restroom and quickly goes inside locking the door.
Phoenix digs into her bag and brings out her bracelet, "I knew it's a good idea to bring my bracelet in case of emergencies."
Phoenix then puts on her bracelet. She then places the hand with her bracelet on her chest as she creates fire around her body. Soon her bracelet begins to glow bright and disappears. Soon, Phoenix begins to transform once more.
Phoenix's body begins to glow red. Then coming out of her right hand is burning fire. She raises her hand in the air and controls the fire to fly around like a large, long ribbon. The fire then begins to coil around her upper body, her arms, and legs. The flames on her upper body transform into a red sleeveless kimono top up to her knees with a black emon and lace. It has a silhouette of a flaming bird on the left side and fire on the right side. Then a bright orange ribbon wraps around her waist and forms an obi ribbon on the back, a gold string buckle appears around the ribbon, and black tights that also cover her ankles.
And then, fire patterned gloves appear on Phoenix's arms that go up to her elbows. Instead of covering the hands, they only cover the backhands and have a band attached that is around the middle finger. The flames around her legs transform into orange ballet flats. The yellow ribbons are wrapped around red leg warmers.
After that, her small gold crown with a pentagram gem appears over her head. She puts it on and her hair begins to glow red. A black choker with a phoenix feather appears on her neck, a red star earring appears on her left ear while a black crescent moon earring appears on her right ears. Then her hair becomes covered in fire. And soon, her hair turns into a glowing color of flames and slightly moves.
Phoenix then lands on the ground, and enchanting wings of a fire bird appear on her back. The feathers of the wings are the colors of fire. She then opens her eyes, her sclera are red with gold yellow pupils in the middle. At a split second, fire flashes in her eyes. Lastly, a red lined pentagram a black crescent moon having two circles and symbols around it appear on her forehead.
Phoenix announces as she moves her hands around, "A Courageous and Majestic Bird that Soars through the Flames of Hell!"
Then fire appears from her hands.
Phoenix spins around in a circle, and announces, "Blazing Phoenix!"
On the dance floor, the Bat Demon leader continues to laugh while he's on the stage and with his foot on the poor mermaid demon.
"I like to see you assholes try and stop us. Soon, the Black Nights will take over this turf and everything else here," Nightshade says.
Suddenly, someone says, "Not if I have anything about it!"
Nightshade turns his head, but ends up meeting a strong fist. He is soon pushed off the girl and falls to the ground.
The Bat Demons exclaim in shock, "Boss!"
"What the fuck was that?" Nightshade asks, sitting up and rubbing his face.
The Bat Demons look up to see none other than Phoenix who has transformed and is not pleased with the gang at all.
"Alright you rats with wings, I'm only going to tell you this one time! Get out and never come back or believe me you will regret it!" Phoenix says in full anger, and cracks her knuckles.
"You think we're going to let some girl with fire get in the way of gaining another turf, you're must be fuckin' stupid," Nightshade angrily says.
"I'm not here to claim any territory or anything of that nonsense. I'm just going to get rid of a bunch of mutts who decided to pick on a young fox demon," Phoenix angrily says.
Suddenly, one of the demons says in shock, "Oh my god, it's her!"
Many of the demons who stay alive become surprised and whisper among themselves to see the hybrid who has been in the Turf War who battled against the shadow creatures arrive. They also say that she looks beautiful and looks very powerful. Some of the demons even take out their Hellphones and cameras to get pictures of her. The mermaid demon that Phoenix has saved looks up in astonishment and tears coming down her eyes to see the half demon has saved her life.
The fish girl thinks with her cheeks blush, "So this is the hybrid girl, she… she's even more beautiful and strong in person than in the news. And… she… she saved me."
Nightshade chuckles and says, "So this is the Hybrid girl that every demon in Hell makes a big deal about. Gotta say, you're becoming quite famous."
With a snap of his fingers, the other Bat demons gather around the stage and the girl finds herself surrounded by the entire gang. Phoenix glares at them and also remembers the fox demon is still on the stage with her.
"However, we're not going to let some brat that can shoot fire get in the way of claiming our turf," Nightshade says.
Phoenix crosses her arms, "Hmph. If you think I'm going to allow you to do that, you're mistaken. Like I said, I suggest you leave or I'm going to have to do it by force."
"You sure talk big for a skinny little slut," Nightshade remarks.
One of the Bat demons says, "I saw we clobber her already. It's just one little girl."
"Yeah. She has no chance against all of us, boss," Another Bat Demon says.
Still on the dance floor away from the stage, Angel and the others can see Phoenix has landed into trouble. Seeing the young fox demon, they realize why Phoenix transformed and charged in the way she has.
"That girl got some guts," Angel says.
"But… but we promised that Phoenix wouldn't get herself into another fight. The Black Nights is a very dangerous gang in this part of the city," Grace panics.
Conan says, "Personally, you should be sorry for those bats for ticking Phoenix off. Besides, I'm sure they'll understand that Phoenix did it to kick these bats' asses and to save that girl."
"He's right. Phoenix actually saved her… and also saved me. But will she be able to handle a gang?" Zǐ Māo says, worried.
Angel whispers to Zǐ Māo, "Her father is like the second strongest demon, her mom was a gang leader, and learned all kind of fighting skills since she's a kid. Not to mention she has incredible powers. I think she can handle it."
"Let's just wait and see what happens," Conan says.
On the stage, the fish demon girl is very frightened that she isn't able to move.
Phoenix turns to the demon girl, "I'll try to stall them the best I can. You make a break for it when I signal you."
The mermaid demon girl nods her head and softly says, "Okay."
Nightshades then commands, "Alright Black Nights, grab that fire girl and the mermaid girl, too."
The Bat Demons begin to charge at her with the weapons in their hands. Phoenix looks around to see she needs to fight all these punks and protect the fish girl. Phoenix then punches one of them in the face. She then kicks one of the bats in the stomach. She jumps up and grabs two of the demons' heads and slams them together. Then Phoenix creates fire to push the demons out of the way, and creates a path.
Phoenix quickly turns to the fish girl, "Hurry, get out of there!"
"Right," The fish demon girl says, and runs off the stage and out of the crowd as fast as she can.
Phoenix continues to fight against the demons with full force, but the Black Nights gang are not planning on giving up. One of the bats smacks her on the head with a bat.
Zǐ Māo gasps, "Phoenix!"
The smack of the bat causes a few drops of blood to slide on the side of her face. One of the demons right to Phoenix with a dagger in her hand, but Phoenix grabs the Bat's wrist and turns it a little, making the Bat grits his teeth. Then Phoenix lets go and kicks him in the face. Phoenix then holds her head to feel the blow she has from one of the demons.
Grace says in concern, "She's going to need help."
"You're right. Let's go," Conan says.
Angel smirks and says, "Looks like we're going to have a little fun while we're here."
"Alright, but remember, Phoenix doesn't want them killed only to get them kicked out," Grace says.
"Fine," Angel replies, rolling his eyes.
Grace turns to Zǐ Māo, "You better stay here, and call Charlie to see if she can pick us up because of what happened." Then gives Zǐ Māo her phone.
"Okay," Zǐ Māo says.
Grace begins to fly in the air and brings out her fan. She then swifts it to create a powerful wind to knock one of the demons off the stage. Some are even slammed to the wall. Conan also arrives and helps Phoenix punch and kick the demons as they knock them down the stage. Angel Dust uses his guns. He has agreed not to kill them, but uses his guns to fire and knock the weapons off their hands.
Under the table, Zǐ Māo quickly calls call and places the phone to his ear.
He then hears Charlie's voice, "Hi Grace, how are you all doing?"
"Um Charlie, it's me Zǐ Māo. Can you uh, send the limo to pick me up. A gang crashes the dance hall and Phoenix decides to fight them to protect a mermaid demon, and Angel and the others are helping fight but…" Zǐ Māo explains.
Charlie says over the phone, "I think I understand. I'll send the limo to pick you up. Vaggie, Alastor, and I will get there as soon as we can."
"Okay," Zǐ Māo says.
Zǐ Māo hangs up the phone and continues to fight the fight from the table is under. He is surprised to see how Phoenix is able to fight the gang on her own.
"I hope Charlie and the others will get here soon," Zǐ Māo thinks in concern.
Still at the dance floor, Phoenix and the others continue to fight off the demons using their abilities and powers to fight the Bat demons. Phoenix is putting so much of her strength that she is starting to feel exhausted, and the bad injury on her head it's making it harder. Luckily, the four are able to defeat the Bats, as they all groan and begin to sit up either injured or growl in anger. The Bat leader groans in anger and looks up to see Phoenix and her friends.
"So, are you and your gang young to leave, or do you and your gang want to have another round," Phoenix says.
Nightshade stands in anger, "You think this is over you little wretch! Not by a long shot! When we get our hands on you and your pathetic friends."
Phoenix and the others are ready to fight against the Bat Demon leader who is still angry, but unaware that Alastor walks into the building. He then snaps his fingers and uses them to make the lights turn on bright. The Bat Demons screams in agony as they try to shield their eyes with their hands and wings.
One of the bat demons screams, "The light is too bright!"
"I can't see a thing!" Another Bat Demon panics.
"It's too blinding!" Another one panics.
Phoenix and the others are blinded by the light, but the Bat seems to be taking this as torture. She then hears a strange static sound and recognizes it when she and Zǐ Māo have walked around the city when she first arrives at Hell. The Bat Demons finally have enough of it and leave the building as fast as they can. The bat continues to scream and panic as they run away in fear and pain. Once all the Bat Demon from the gang are gone, the lights dim down.
Soon Angel asks, "What the fuck just happened?"
Alastor walks up to them and says, "I just thought it will be good to shed a little light on them."
"Alastor? Where did you come from?" Phoenix asks.
"I asked Zǐ Māo to call Charlie about this fiasco. Looks like they made it in time," Grace says.
"Indeed, and it seems I came in time to prevent any more complications," Alastor says.
He then walks to Phoenix and says, "Now then, I think it will be best to head back to the hotel. You seem to receive a severe injury on your head, my dear."
Phoenix places her hand on her forehead, "Yeah… one of the Bat Demons smacked me on the head with a bat rather hard. I just hold myself up, despite me… well… you know."
Then Phoenix begins to groan and holds her head
"Yeah. That blow caused a gash on your head," Angel says.
Grace, Conan, and Angel see what Phoenix is talking about, she's practically bleeding on her head. Zǐ Māo grows worried to see Phoenix is badly hurt and blood is dropping on her head. Phoenix and the others decide to leave with Alastor out of the building. Phoenix then looks at Alastor with a suspicious expression, and has figured something out.
Unknown to the group, someone else has been watching them from the darkness that makes it hard to see his face. The being is very tall, and appears to be holding a cigarette in a hand that is emitting red smoke from it. The demon then brings it up and takes a drag of it. Then blows it out to make a heart. Suddenly, the demon glows red eyes and pink teeth and shows a gold tooth in the sinister smile.
After returning to the hotel, Vaggie wraps a bandage wrap around Phoenix's head. She's still kind of banged up after what happened, but glad she is able to get out of that incident in one piece.
Vaggie finishes and asks, "Are you going to be alright?"
"I guess so. Thanks Vaggie," Phoenix replies.
She groans and holds her head with her hand, "Maybe not… I'm still kind of banged up."
Charlie walks over to Phoenix and says, "I think you should get some rest. I can take you to your room."
"Thanks Charlie, and sorry about what happened. We tried not to get into a fight, and what that Bat leader did to that mermaid girl… I just got so made that I ended up picking a fight," Phoenix says.
Vaggie says, "At least you did it with good intentions. The Black Nights is a very ruthless group of gangsters."
Conan turns to Alastor, "And you turned on the lights before the Black Nights can cause us more damage."
"You guessed it my young friend. I decided to finish your little fight and have them leave the premises. Besides, I think it wouldn't be good if Phoenix continued the fight with her injury," Alastor says.
"I guess, but I could have handled it," Phoenix says.
"Not with that injury my dear. I suggest getting some rest for that head of yours," Alastor says.
"Um, okay," Phoenix says.
Charlie and Angel begin to take Phoenix to her room. Not long after, Phoenix is laying down on the bed, the girl instantly falls asleep for the night. She still feels sore from the injury she has received, but glad things haven't gone too serious.
Meanwhile, the mermaid demon is laying down in her bed that is shaped like an oyster shell. She looks at the window to see the moon shining down through it. She is deep in thought about the hybrid girl that has saved her.
"One of the group of demons, I heard him call her Phoenix… is that… her name? She fought those demons just so I can escape," The mermaid demon girl says.
She then begins to shed tears, "She almost risked her life for me."
She sadly sighs, "I do hope… I'll get to see her again. I never got to thank her for what she did for me."
The mermaid girl then lays down in her bed and falls asleep for the night.
