Episode 15: Weakened Demon Body, Strong Human Heart
Back in the abandoned building, the Dark Sombra has attacked and injured many of the sinners and demons inside, including Angel Dust and Phoenix. Before the Dark Sombra could finish Angel Dust off, Phoenix is able to save him, and cut its arm off. Then the hybrid girl has Angel Dust laying against the wall so he can rest, and turns her attention to the Dark Sombra in furry.
With that, Phoenix then uses her speed to charge at the Dark Sombra. The Dark Sombra senses her movement, and dives its claws to attack her, but Phoenix quickly dodges the attack at top speed. Then Phoenix raises her left hand as her nails begin to extend. Then slashes the Dark Sombra at the back. The Dark Sombra screams in agony as the girl lands on her feet. The monster then uses its tail to swing the spike tail at her. Phoenix then grabs the tail and pulls it back. Then let's go to allow it to hit the monster on the head. The monster ends up losing its balance and crashes to the ground. The monster soon stands up and continues to attack Phoenix, but the girl continues to dodge and attack back.
Close by and making their escape, Masato and some of his gang members are able to regain consciousness and carry their wounded comrades out of the building. Those like Serpentine, Temari, and Katana are watching the fight and are rather shocked.
"Woah! That girl is really fighting hard," Temari says.
"I musssst agree. I never knew at first glance, but sssseing how the girl fought and her true apperancssse, it's well known of who she is now," Serpentine says.
Masato says, "Yes. This girl is a hybrid of human and demon. A half hellborn."
"She really is the hybrid from the news that's been going on. I thought it was just fake," Katana says.
"Maybe powerful demons, sinners, and hellborns know about the half demons also known as half hellborns. Depending how they are born, how they lived their lives, and powers, show the kind of strength she has. This girl has incredible powers and strength, probably matching an Overlord's power. Sinners and demons need to be careful when they come across one of those beings. It will be best to retreat for now. I suspect that she has the Dark Sombra taken care of," Masato says.
"Of course," Temari says.
With that, the sinners carry their comrades out of the building, and leave to a different location. Still in the building, Phoenix continues to fight the Dark Sombra with all her might. She then brings out her katana handle and uses her abilities to create a sword without transforming into the other form. Then Phoenix uses her claws to leave a harsh scratch on it's arm. Then holding her sword in the air as she jumps. She slashes at the Dark Sombra's mask and with that, the Dark Sombra dissolves as it falls to the ground. Soon, the only thing that is left of the Dark Sombra, is a black pearl that has changed to red. Phoenix then picks up the pearl and puts it in her pocket.
Phoenix then looks at her hands to notice her nails are long and sharp.
"What has happened to me? Last I remember, I was badly attacked by the Dark Sombra, and lost a lot of blood. I… I thought I was going to die… but…" Phoenix thinks.
She gasps, "Angel."
Phoenix turns to see Angel is still unconscious, and still has terrible injuries on his body. It also looks like his right leg appears to be broken, and the cuts and bruises he has are bleeding. She hurries towards him.
Phoenix places her hand on Angel's face. She is relieved to feel that Angel is well, breathable as can be since he is a sinner.
"Thank goodness," Phoenix says.
"I… I need to get out of here. I also need to treat his wounds… somehow…" Phoenix says.
Soon, Phoenix begins to shed tears as they fall from her face.
"I'm… I'm sorry Angel. You… you got hurt because of me. Because that Dark Sombra was after me… And I… I couldn't help you," Phoenix says.
Phoenix then wipes the tears from her face and uses the strength she has to lay Angel down, and prepares to treat his wounds. Suddenly, as she is preparing to look at Angel's arm, her hands begin to burn a strange blue fire.
"What?" Phoenix questions, shock.
Phoenix then looks at Angel's hand to notice the fire is creating rings all the way across his arm. Soon, the wounds begin to heal and Angel stops breathing.
"The blue fire… it's healing him… have I developed healing abilities. If so… then maybe…" Phoenix thinks.
Not wasting time, Phoenix tries to concentrate in creating blue fire around her hands. Then begins to place her hands on any wounds, cuts, and any bleeding Angel has on his body. As Phoenix continues to use her powers, she begins to lose much of her strength. Once she is done treating all of Angel's wounds, Phoenix takes deep breaths of exhaustion. It feels that her healing has taken a lot of her strength, that her own healing is developing slowly.
"We need to get out of here. I need to get Angel back to the hotel, or at least somewhere where we can rest. We can't stay here in case that gang comes back. I'll have no choice but to carry Angel back myself," Phoenix thinks.
Phoenix then picks up Angel Dust and places him on her back. Then struggling to stand on her feet, Phoenix begins to walk towards the exit. She takes a peek out and looks left and right. Seeing no one is around, Phoenix then begins to walk out of the building and to the direction where the hotel is.
Phoenix has been walking for a while now, and to her luck, there haven't been many demons or sinners around. However, she still needs to be careful of sinners and demons around. Phoenix is able to duck into an alley with Angel Dust still unconscious on her back. Phoenix continues to take deep breaths as she leans her side against the wall. She sighs and places Angel against the wall so that she can rest, and looks at herself to see the damages she has. She takes off the jacket and places over Angel. Then looks at her wounds. The shirt and pants are covered in blood, but she also has terrible cuts all over her body, but also shows signs of healing.
She sighs, and thinks, "Fuck, it looks like I've lot a lot of blood during the fight, and my wounds are healing slowly because of how much damage I've too. It also doesn't help that I used my strength to heal Angel's injuries. But still, my wounds are still healing, and I was able to heal Angel's. I need to get back to the hotel before they discover I'm gone and what happened."
Phoenix soon turns her head and becomes shocked to see her reflection. Her eyes are red with a little yellow in the middle, her hair is waving like fire, she also looks at her nails to see them sharp and are piercing through the gloves.
"I've changed… so much in this form. I sure hope I'm not stuck like this," Phoenix says to herself.
Suddenly, someone says, "Well well well, look what we have here."
Phoenix quickly turns her head to see Nightshade, known as the Leader of the Black Nights gang, and a few of his gang members.
"It looks like we found the little Porn Star and he has a little friend," Nightshade says.
"And looking at this one. She looks like she has more injuries, which means she doesn't seem she can move around much," The other bat demon says.
"And the Porn Star is a sleep, which makes it easy for us to take him," The third member says.
Phoenix quickly reaches Angel's side and has her arms spread to protect him.
"I'm not going to let you hurt either one of us, we both had a rough night," Phoenix angrily says.
"A rough night huh? Well, your night is about to get a whole lot rougher, especially for the fun we're going to have," Nightshade says.
Suddenly, two of the Black Nights gang grabs Phoenix by each of her arms and drags her away.
"Let me go! You're hurting me!" Phoenix shouts in rage.
Of course, what she's saying is true because her body aches like fuckin' crazy.
Nightshade evilly smirks and grabs her by the chin, "Then it will be best for you not to struggle. While I have some fun with your friend."
Then Nightshade begins to walk towards Angel as he lets go of Phoenix's chin.
Phoenix panics, "No! You leave him alone! And it's very cowardly to do this to someone when someone is unconscious!"
Nightshade and his gang laugh.
"This is Hell you little runt! Anything goes in this place. I can have fun with anyone I want," Nightshade says with an evil grin on his face.
Nightshade then kneels down to Angel who is still unconscious. Seeing that Angel is in terrible danger, Phoenix struggles to break free from the demons' grasp, but they are holding on to her very tight. Nightshade removes the red jacket from Angel Dust and tosses it on the ground. Phoenix continues to struggle as she growls and is yelling in full rage. In fact, her eyes begin to glow as her hair is standing to move like fire once more. She continues to struggle and the two bat demons are actually starting to have trouble holding on to her.
Before Phoenix can actually break free, some kind of bottle with blue liquid falls to the ground and creates a strange hazy mist. The mist soon spread, making everyone come to a halt. The two demons let go of Phoenix as Nightshade steps away from Angel, that gives her the chance to take him in her arms to protect him.
"Hello everyone. It looks like you are having a lot of fun here," The sound of a woman's voice appears.
Everyone in the area becomes confused to hear the voice. Then turns their heads to see a silhouette of a demon. From the appearance, this demon is actually a girl.
"However, one of my buddies has been looking for his little Angel Cakes, so I'm going to have to bring him back," The voice says.
The mist clears off to reveal a slim female doll demon with slightly grey-brown skin. She has velvet, maroon, and white hair tied into pigtails with black and white lace hair ties holding her hair up. She seems to be wearing white clown eyeliner with burgundy eyeshadow. She has white irises and red sclerae. The female demon is wearing a black, velvet, and white tea-length dress with short puffed sleeves including various heart designs and velvet lace at the bottom. She wears white and velvet striped evening gloves and black tights or stockings. Her shoes are velvet flats with white pom poms on the top.
"Hello everyone, are you all having fun while it lasts?" The female demon asks with a big grin on her face.
"Aw shit, it's Velvet!" The bat demons exclaim in shock.
"Velvet?" Phoenix says, confused.
"Hey, you think you can come here and spoil our fun?!" Nightshade angrily says.
He then grins, "Well, sorry girly, but you'll have to wait your turn."
Suddenly, the demon known as Velvet giggles, and says, "Sorry, but I'm afraid I don't have time for your fun. So I'll have to put you on ice."
She then takes out multiple bottles with light blue liquids inside. Then throws them at the gang members. Soon, the liquid splatters all over the place and sock many of the bat demons. Soon enough, the bat demons begin to get trapped in ice. Phoenix then takes her to carry Angel Dust away from the alley.
However, Phoenix doesn't get far when something coils around her ankle and she falls over with Angel in her arms. Phoenix turns her head to see Vox who has claws up as they emit blue electricity. She then looks down to see her ankle is coiled with what looks like wire.
"Hmm, it looks like a little demon is trying to make off with someone's property," Vox says with a smirk.
"What is he talking about?" Phoenix thinks.
Vox stares at the hybrid girl and says, "Huh, you look vaguely familiar? Like I've seen that face before."
"Well, I suppose I did look rather different than the last time I saw him, and I only saw him once," Phoenix thinks, feeling uneasy.
"Oh well, I'm sure Val will have a good use for you," Vox says.
Before Phoenix can get a word out, he grabs her by both of her wrists and pulls her away from Angel Dust. Then turns her around so she can cuff both her wrists behind her with one clawed arm while having his other arm wrapped around her neck. Phoenix yells and squirms in full anger at being dragged away from Angel.
"Will you stop struggling you little bitch?! You're a lot stronger than you look," Vox says.
That's when Velvet comes out of the alley, "Hey Vox, I see you caught our little runaway."
"I did, and she is putting up a fight," Vox says, struggling to keep his grip on her.
Then angrily scolds Phoenix, "Will you stop struggling before I'll electrocute you."
Velvet looks at the hybrid, despite her yelling and struggling around.
"You know, I think I've seen a face similar to her before, except with the rage in her eyes," Velvet says.
"I was thinking the same thing. It's hard to tell with her screaming and yelling like that," Vox says.
"Either way, this demon is a little hostel. And I must admit, it's kind of rare to see demons and sinners looking similar to humans and with her fire color hair," Velvet says.
Saying the statement clicks something in Velvet's mind. The girl then walks towards the girl as she continues to struggle to break free. Velvet then leans to Phoenix's chest, causing her to come to a halt.
In her mind, Phoenix thinks, "Wha-what is she doing?"
Velvet has the side of her head pressed against Phoenix's chest, and hears something she never expected to hear.
Velvet happily lifts her head up and says, "Wow! This girl has a heartbeat! I knew I've seen that fiery hair before, she's the hybrid from the news and has been defeating large demons monsters that have these weird masks! She's been the talk of Hell since she mysteriously showed up!"
"Really?" Vox asks, sounding curious.
"Yep. On the news, it showed of a mysterious being in a cloak who was with Angel Dust and Cherri Bomb in the Turf War and kicked Sir Pentious ass. Then this mysterious fiery like demon appeared in the Turf War and totally defeated that monster wearing the weird mask. She showed up as a total unknown and has become the talk of the town," Velvet says, excited.
"Yes. I remember about that. And now I remember where I saw that face," Vox says.
"You do?" Velvet asks.
"Yes. I actually saw her with Alastor and that small cat demon. I thought I recognized that face, and she was that hybrid demon that's been appearing on the news. We've been keeping an eye on her from the social media since it all started," Vox adds.
"I think Val said that he saw the hybrid at that night club when those dumb bats attacked there. He saw her left with Angel Dust and Alastor," Velvet says.
"Hmm, there is something odd about this hybrid," Vox says.
Even in the state she is in right now, Phoenix becomes aware of who she really is. With her strength and power, Phoenix breaks free from Vox's grasp. Then grabs Velvet by her wrist and throws her at Vox, causing them both to fall to the ground. Phoenix quickly sprints to Angel, picks him up, and runs away. The two demons quickly sit up to see her running off.
"Wow. That girl is a lot stronger than she looks," Velvet comments.
"Who cares! We need to catch this bitch!" Vox says.
"Don't worry, she won't get too far. She looks too beaten up to continue running," Velvet says.
She then grins, "Besides, right about now, she'll run into Val."
Vox soon shows an evil grin on his screen like-face, "Yeah. She'll have a hard time facing him."
Running down the street, Phoenix is hurrying as she holds Angel Dust in her arms to get away from the two demons. She turns back to notice they aren't chasing her at all. She begins to wonder what is preventing them to do so. Just then, Phoenix falls to the ground again, but is able to land on her knees. She continues to take deep breaths as exhaustion is beginning to over take her.
She looks up and says in thought, "I'm nowhere near the hotel and my body has more pain than ever. I wasn't able to rest because we were attacked by the Black Nights. Not to mention, Vox and this girl, Velvet. I'm having a really bad night."
She then whispers, "It doesn't matter. Getting back to the hotel is our only option. Even though I healed you, you're still unconscious. And my body is really taking its toll."
She then struggles to stand up, "I need to get back to the hotel and we can both finally rest. But…"
She then collapses again on her knees, "I don't have much strength to continue. What am I going to do now?"
Suddenly, Phoenix picks up a strange scent, "What's that smell? It smells so… sweet… and strong…"
Soon enough, Phoenix looks around to find herself trapped in an area of red smoke.
"What's going on? What is this?" Phoenix softly whispers, feeling uneasy.
And soon senses a powerful demon close by. She has her arm wrapped around Angel to keep him close. Then she takes the dagger out in case she needs to fight back. Phoenix begins to cough as she feels some of the red smoke is entering her mouth. She covers her mouth as she holds the dagger in her hand. Then holds her head with the very hand.
"Why do I feel so… dizzy all of the sudden? I'm feeling so warm and my head feels heavy. I… I could barely move," Phoenix thinks.
"Well, look what we have here," A voice says.
Phoenix gasps in shock to realize she's not alone here. She slowly moves her legs so she can stand up on her feet. As she tries to stand, her legs begin to wobble from the stress she puts them on. Phoenix ends up hitting her back against the wall.
"Oh, there's no reason to be afraid little girl," The voice continues.
Feeling dizzy and tired, Phoenix doesn't notice that a demon is standing in front of her. The demon is a very tall demon who appears to have muted blue skin and four arms. The demon seems to be wearing a lot of red, like some red coat with white fur lines on the collar and white cuffs on four sleeves. It's also wearing a red hat as well, and what looks like pink and gold heart shaped glasses.
Phoenix looks up to see the demon, but her vision is getting blurry. She can't tell if it's from the mysterious red smoke, or the fact that she is still badly injured and lost a lot of blood. However, it doesn't shake the fact that she feels something intimidating about this demon, Phoenix is practically shaking.
"Relax baby, there's no need to feel tense. I only come to see that you've need some assistance," The demon says.
He then reaches out his black color hand and places it on Phoenix's right cheek and rubs it, causing Phoenix to flinch, but soon begins to feel at ease. Then the demon places it under her chin and lifts it up for her to face him.
"My, what a lovely face you have, but it appears your body has been badly damaged. You can barely stand on your own while carrying Angel in your arms," The demon says in a low voice.
The demon then places a white cigarette in his mouth, and soon blows red smoke at Phoenix. The girl coughs as she tries to cover her mouth with one hand and hold Angel with her other arm. She suddenly feels like the smoke is coiling around her neck, like they have a mind of her own. She begins to feel more dizzy and light headed. Soon, her body is beginning to go limp and almost drop Angel, if the demon hasn't taken him from her first with one pair of arms. Then uses the other pair to grab a hold of her shoulders.
Then the demon leans head head to her and softly says, "You should rest little one, I'll take care of things from here."
Phoenix feels overtaken by the calm voice, the sweet smell of the smoke, and the pain and the loss of blood of her body. And carrying a tall demon like Angel Dust… Phoenix's body has taken its toll. The young girl then closes her eyes and leans back against the wall, and soon falls into a deep sleep. As Phoenix falls asleep, her hair has stopped moving, and her nails aren't sharp anymore, it's like she is reverting back to her more human state once she loses consciousness. The demon grins, showing his sharp pink teeth with a gold tooth.
He then says in a deep voice, "That's a good girl."
The demon then adjusts so that he is using his arms from one side of his body to hold Angel dust, and then uses his other arms to pick up Phoenix. Soon enough, Velvet and Vox have arrived on the scene.
"Hey Val, I see you caught our little runaway," Velvet happily says.
"It wasn't too hard. The girl's body is at its limits, and it wouldn't be much of a surprise that a hybrid isn't able to withstand my special cigarettes. She fell asleep soon after," The demon, Val says.
"Good, that little runt threw Velvet on me and tried to make a run for it!" Vox says, obviously pissed.
"Now Voxy, what matters is that we found Angel, and the little hybrid girl he seems to hang out with. I'm sure we'll be able to get some answers once they wake up," Val says.
Velvet giggles and says, "And that we get to have fun with the hybrid girl. We should make her feel really welcome when we get back to the Studios."
The demon, Val makes an evil smirk as he says, "Yes. We'll make her feel very welcome."
