Nathan: By morning, Ham was so exhausted from running that he stopped at McDonald's in Downtown Menlo Park to catch his breath, when a voice said. "Hamburglar?"

To Ham's surprise, it was...

"Ronald?"

"We were wondering what happened to you these past few months." said Ronald. "Why, back in September, some men were here talking about you and..."

"That's very interesting to hear." said Ham, who had seen me walking across the street from the Caltrain station. "And I'd love to stay and chat, but I should get going. No time to explain why. See ya!"

"Well, isn't he in such a hurry?" said Sundae as he and Ronald watched him hurrying across the street.

I was about to walk up to Kepler's Bookstore when I heard Ham calling out. "NATHAN! NATHAN!"

"Ham? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"It's Gothel! She's finally snapped." explained Ham. "She's locked up Rapunzel in the tower and has Caine and the gang guarding JobTrain to prevent anyone from coming in and rescuing her."

Up inside Meowrice's hideout, as he heard what Ham said, Pascal knew he had to act now and fast.

He stuck his tail into the key lock in his cage...and unlocked it!

Little does he realize that Armand was watching him, then slinked away to tell Meowrice.

"Wait, when you said 'Caine and the gang,'" I said. "Do you mean the same guys that tried to hurt me and Eugene yesterday?"

"That's them." replied Ham.

I looked at my watch, then said. "The bus should be here any minute now."

I started to head back to the Caltrain station, but Ham caught up with me, saying. "Nathan, wait. You can't go back there."

"But Rapunzel needs our help." I said.

"And you'll die trying to save her*." added Ham.

"Your friend has a point, Nate."

Upon recognizing that voice, I turned to see Lee, who said that, May and Marie walking up to me and Ham menacingly.

"She ain't good enough for you anyway." added Marie.

"Kankers, this is not a good time for..." I started to say, only to be cut off by Lee, who said. "This is a good time, 'cause we have a wedding to plan."

"Wedding?!" repeated Ham.

"I never said anything about getting married." I said.

"We did!" said Lee, referring to herself and her sisters.

"Especially since you won't let us have the Eds." added May.

"Now, all's we need is your hunky friend, and..."

Before Marie could finish her sentence, a chilling voice said. "Don't bother searching for Rider, girls. He's long gone."

The Kankers, Ham and I looked and saw that it was the once-again-youthful...

"Gothel!"

"But...how did you find us here?" asked Ham.

"Oh, it was easy, really." replied Gothel, who calmly walked up to us. "I just listened for the sound of complete and utter betrayal and followed that."

Upon hearing Gothel's voice back inside Meowrice's lair, Pascal knew he had to hurry it up freeing the other chameleons and Minions.

While trying to do so, he noticed the goggles, which gave him an idea of how to lose Meowrice and his henchcats.

"Betrayal? Ha!" I said. "The only one betraying anybody around here is you; lying to Rapunzel, tricking her into staying inside JobTrain for the rest of her life..."

Gothel only scoffed. "You and your little friends should know better than anyone, Mr. Rosenberg. Ideas are very dangerous things, especially to my little girl."

"What's she talkin' about?" asked May.

"She's making all this up." I replied. "In fact, from what I heard from the Stooges, Gothel's not even Rapunzel's real mother!"

Upon hearing those words, Gothel frowned. "You're gonna wish you hadn't said that."

She pulled out a dagger from her cloak and pointed it at me and Ham.

"Whatcha gonna do with my man?!" asked Lee.

"Your man is going to be a dead one once I'm..."

Before Gothel could strike me and Ham, something fell in front of us.

It was the cats' chameleon-detecting goggles, completely broken.

Suddenly, there was a THUD!

We all looked up to see a large cage crashing out of Meowrice's lair.

Riding it down were the Minions, Pascal and his fellow chameleons.

Once the cage landed around Gothel, the Minions pushed her over the railing and down the parking lot stairs.

"Our goggles!" we heard Alley cry out.

"Comme! Comme! Comme!" Kevin said to me and Ham while Pascal squealed for the other chameleons to flee with their lives before catching up with us.

While trying to run away with the Minions and Ham, Lee grabbed me by my coat and pulled me closer to her, saying. "You ain't going nowhere."

Just then, there was a whinny.

"Max?" I realized.

The horse rode past the Kankers, boosting me, Pascal, Ham and the Minions on top of him.

"Give us back our husbands!" May demanded as she and her sisters chased after us.

At the same time, Meowrice and his henchcats started to take flight.

As we rode Max far away from the Caltrain station, a familiar voice asked. "Miss me?"

To our relief and surprise, it was Eugene!

"Oh, do we ever!" I exclaimed, wrapping my arms around him.

Seeing that Meowrice and his army were not far behind, Max whinnied as if he was saying. "Save the reuniting for later."

"Max is right, guys." Eugene said to us. "We need to get back to Rapunzel."

Tin, Pan & Alley and the Shadow Cats swooped down, only to be hit by the burgers Ham had underneath his jacket.

As Pascal joined in the battle, hitting the cats with the frying pan, Meowrice came out of nowhere and snatched him, saying. "I'll take my chameleon to go, thank you."

"Oh, no, you...WOOOOOOOON'T!" I said while grabbing a hold of his tail with Eugene, only to fly off of Max.

"Meet us at JobTrain!" Eugene called out in the air.

"You heard him, Max." said Ham "Full speed ahead!"

"Lemo yes sac!" repeated Kevin.

In full speed, with Ham, and the Minions riding him, Max galloped off to JobTrain...

Author's Note:

*It was funny that Ham mentioned that part, because from the books I read of "Tangled," during that climactic scene, when Eugene found Rapunzel chained and gagged inside the tower, Gothel stabbed him from behind.
