" KUSHINA!" Naruto flinched as Kyuubi screamed hatefully slamming into the gate with hateful eyes.
The women didn't even flinch, she just sighed. " Kyuubi... I am sorry for what I did to you..." The stupid fox stopped, looking at her in shock and disbelief. " I was a shinobi, and like any shinobi I bought the idea that our village had to come first, that is justified the literal slavery we inflicted on you... " Turning on Heel, the Women placed her hand on the weird seal on the Gate hiding the Kyuubi, causing the whole thing to shimmer and vanish, turning into a collar around Kyuubi's neck. " I don't have enough chakra to undo the seal, but I managed to draw on the a sliver of the excess chakra inside of Naruto's cells to alter the seal enough to give you more freedom... please, let that be my white flag, just enough for you to listen to my plea... both of you." She turned to Naruto, and he saw tears falling down her cheeks. " Hi baby, My name is Kushina Uzumaki... I am your mother."
The words hit Naruto like Tsunade's fists, leaving him out of breathe and about cry. " You can't be..."
" I am , a sliver of my chakra was added to your seal to act as a safety measure to teach you to use Kyuubi's powers... I guess you can technically say that is what I am doing now, only instead of stripping Kyuubi of his power I am going to get you to work together... "
" Huh, not happening Kushina... still, you freed me, that is enough for this... White flag of yours." The Fox folded it's human like arms across it's chest, sneering down at them but didn't attack and that kept Naruto too shocked to really say anything. For once in his life, he was speechless.
Kushina chuckled, a hallow empty sound that left the hairs rising on Naruto's skull. Apparently Kyuubi wasn't immune since he too looked a little nervous for a second. " That's fair Kyuubi, but know this... I am not talking like a Ninja, but a mother. I died for the village and my son, but with how they treat him... worse then they treated me... I don't care for them any more." Naruto leaped up to say something but the women held out her hand and stopped him. " Naruto, I love you and I am beyond proud that you are not hateful and angry like Gaara but your too forgiving which is just as bad. Gaara attacked the world, you attack yourself. I am going to teach you to love yourself first for once. Please don't talk until I am done, I don't know how long I can last like this. Can you do that for me, please?"
Slowly, Naruto nodded. " Okay... I guess..." He hated sitting still and being quiet but hearing his mom's voice was enough for him...
" Good... Now I should explain a little Naruto. I was the host of Kyuubi before you, and before me it was Mito Uzumaki the wife of the First Hokage and one of his few equals in skill. She sealed Kyuubi away when Madara Uchiha, the best freind of the First Hokage, Strongest Uchiha in History, Cocreator of the Leaf and it's first traitor, used Kyuubi like a slave to attack Hashirama. She did it for a good reason, to stop Madara... then it turned into a monstrous practice, with the first capturing and enslaving the Tailed Beasts and selling them to each of the villages bar the One tails who was captured by Sand. I was chosen after Mito was close to Death due to my power chakra and Bloodline skill, the Adamantiane chains which could hold any chakra including Kyuubi's. It helped that even as a member of the Uzumaki, I was a master Sealer by the time I turned Eleven. Mito's tutelage had a lot to do with that, I admit.
Now, when you were born I was in a special area outside of the village, because the seal can break during childbirth. Your Father, the Fourth Hokage-"
" My dad is the Fourth Hokage!" Naruto jumped up, only to fall down as Killer intent slammed into him from his mom. ' Shikamaru was right, Mom's are scary!'
" As I was saying, your father held the seal firm while I gave birth... someone broke in though, an Uchiha, and kidnapped you, then me and ripped Kyuubi from me. I was dying from that, so your father after defeating the Uchiha had me hold down Kyuubi while we sealed him away in you, the only person strong enough to hold him... or well, half of him. We each sealed a small portion of our chakra into you to help you as you got older... Because I was the previous host of Kyuubi I can take his chakra in safely, which I did when I felt your heart stop when you fought Kabuto... it is keeping my stable. I have maybe three or four days, then I will cease to exist.
Okay so now you know the basics, I can say this... Kyuubi is a victim of our village. I didn't realize that until I saw the Sharingan in his eyes, he never asked to attack us nor did he plan to. We kept him enslaved for a century... that was wrong Naruto. Just as wrong as it was for the Villagers to treat you and Gaara as they did. So I decided that when I helped you, I would help him as well. "
Naruto had a million things he wanted to say, but just wasn't sure where to start... thankfully Kyuubi didn't have that problem. " And why should I beleive you Kushina? Last time we met, you were pinning me to a bolder in your mind, then splitting me in half?"
" I know... which is why, before I fade away, I will tell you exactly how to undo the damage and return your full power." The Fox froze, Naruto had never seem him like this..." In this village, near the outskirts on the far east side is a Shrine. Inside of it..." Naruto flinched, amazed as water shot into the air, turning into a screen. He could see the path from the Hospital to the Shrine, going inside of it where a lot of creepy masks covered the wall. A Single one in the middle fell to the ground. " That mask is the Uzumaki Death Mask, it can undo the seal freeing your other half. However to use it the Vessel needs to carve a hole into it's stomach while wearing the mask. That isn't much of a problem, I will take over Naruto and use a remote controlling seal to force a criminal to perform the Jutsu, using the seals of the shrine to mask the whole thing. Trust me now Kyuubi? Hell, here is the Seal needed to control another person." A Weird seal formed out of the water, in front of the Kyuubi who lost most of the anger in his eyes.
" I trust you... so what do you want in return?"
" Simple, you are going to help Naruto train and become power, teaching him to care for himself and about himelf...and in return he will free you one day after crafting you a summons realm. Yes Naruto you will do this, the Uzumaki sealing Style is enough to make this possible. You will be able to what I ask sooner then you'd think, and you will be strong enough to survive losing Kyuubi. It won't be easy but you can do it. Now, Since I don't know how Long I can last after bringing the Kyuubi into your body, So I will tell you how you are going to become skilled. Your father had three special safehouses we sealed together, no one knows where they are, not even the Hokage or the Gaurds. In one of them, the one Your father brought me too when I was dying interestingly enough... it has my family scrolls, ones Mito left after she died. I added some extra stuff to them in case I didn't survive childbirth or died on a mission. They got me to the level I am today, Kyuubi is experience and very intelligent so he can help you Naruto, but I would steal a dictionary if you want to really understand everything Naruto... When you go with Jiriaya, train in secret. I saw how he was with you, drinking and generally being useless. He will be the same way when your on your trip, which is exactly what you want. Pretend to be yourself, as you are now, with him and train on your own. After a year of training I want you to start bounty hunting locally for experience, you need to be able to kill Naruto. Naivety is not a good thing Naruto, it will get you and your own killed.
Only reveal your skills when you return to the Leaf, you can Trust Tsunade not to imprison you but you cannot trust Jiriaya to be helpful or to contain the knowledge of your power. He is too exuberant and loves to brag...Now, lastly... you need to grow up Naruto. I love you, I truly do, but your naive and annoying and immature. I can't blame that on you before you became a ninja but as a ninja you are an adult and that means taking responsibility for your actions. Do not scream in battle, talk your enemy to taking your Point of view, don't brag in a fight or give your enemy a chance to fight if you don't have to. Don't peek on people in the bath house and respect privacy if not for a mission. Hatred isn't entirely wrong... and you are too leave Sasuke alone, he made his choice and it makes sense Naruto, let him do this. Being his freind does not mean you can strip his choices just because you don't agree. Ignore Sakura, and anyone who is mean to you, love isn't obsessive like you have for Sakura and she has for Sasuke, Love is Mutual and that is what you should want." She choked up, Crushing Naruto into a hug he melted right into. " I wish I could tell you more Naruto, I wish I could be your mom full time and help you navigate this ugly world... but I can't. Please listen to me baby, and follow my instructions. This will keep you alive and hopefully happy..."
" I'll try Mom... but Sakura isn't that bad and I promised her to save Sasuke, I can't forget that!"
She pulled away, frowning at him. " Naruto, bringing Sasuke back as a ninja is fine, but as his friend it isn't. He made a choice, it is his choice and you cannot force him to stop. It is not your place to act as morality to police, more so it was a stupid promise that Sakura was wrong to ask you to agree to!" Sighing, she rubbed his hair. " I am sorry Naruto, I hate what they did to you...you had no friends or family, so you hold onto those you love even if they are awful.. but it is okay to cut our abusers Naruto. It is better to be lonly then to be abused... find people who will love you for you, not constantly critic and insult you. I know that loneliness Naruto, I felt it too. I came from another village, I was attacked for being foreign... I never loved the Leaf, only your father and his genin. You need to find someone who will be as loyal to you as you are to them, and the Leaf will never be that." She sighed again. " I know those words mean little to you since you know nothing else... hopefully Kyuubi will be helpful in that way...I have little time... I need to take over your body now Naruto."
Wiping the tears from his eyes, Naruto nodded. " Okay... I love you mom."
" And I you Naruto..."
Having a physical body was weird, especially when it was so short... ' Stop that... we have too much to do...' Channeling a sliver of Kyuubi's chakra, Kushina created two shadow clones that fled without a word. She shot of the window her self, using her war born experiance to blast through the village at speeds that would shock even Might Gai.
Finding the Shrine was Easy, as was finding the mask and activating the seals around Shrine. Waiting for her clones was not...
' I wish I could do more for him... That speech was nice but without context and time to drill the lesson in it was worthless... and kind of judgy... Gah, I wish I had more experiance with mom thing...' Shrugging off her worries, she drew on mission experience and waited for the Clones.
The First to come back was the Clone looking for the scrolls in the safe house. Using it's remaining chakra, it sealed all eight of the scrolls into seals they drew on Naruto's chest and arms before masking with another Seal only Naruto could access or even see.
The second clone appeared five minutes later with Mizuki, bound and gagged and missing an eye and a few teeth.
" My favorite part... you deserve this, for what you did to my son..." Slapping the seal on the moron's back, Kushina quickly forced him to put on the mask. The shinigami appeared, making her cringe a little at the reminder. From the slit in it's belly, a familiar blue soul appeared before separating into two energies, Minato and Kyuubi's respectively. Letting Minato's soul dissipate, Kushina quickly placed her hand in Kyuubi's soul fragment, feeling it's power burn through her son's flesh. " Gah, it's disrupting my control... Naruto, I am sorry... I was right, this is all I can do... Please, baby, listen to me... do as I ask... Kyuubi, remember your promise!"
' GAHHH!' Kyuubi's scream and power surge blasted through her, banishing her chakra from her son's body.
Rising from his now softly glowing body, Kushina smiled. ' I did what I could... I am sorry Minato, I died as a kunoichi... I needed to be a mother to him... at least this once... I just wish I could have been kinder, but he didn't that... he needed tough mom, not nice mom...'
" She's gone..." Tears fell down Naruto's face, horror and sadness warring in his heart.
" For what is it worth... I am sorry." Slowly, Naruto turned to Kyuubi who looked a little... embarrassed. " I never cared for Kushina, I outright hated her... but what she did, I cannot deny my respect for her... and my appreciation for what she just did for me. I will follow through with my promise kid. I do not like you, but your mother was right. You need to gain power, not just mine. Madara Uchiha could easily destroy me, the person who controlled me the day you were born was almost as strong from what I could tell. Shames me to admit it but it is true. Do not tell Jiraiya, he want's you to use only my power..."
Slowly, Naruto nodded. " Okay... I don't like you either, but she's my mom... I can't not listen to her... but, do you think she was right about Sasuke and Sakura?"
The Fox shrugged. " I have never had a freind, So I am as new as you are in this... but your mother was right I think. So... I think we need to get back to the Hospital... and try to act normal. We can't let anyone know of what we are doing, not if you want to stop the person who killed your parents... and Itachi Uchiha, I could sense his chakra, he could easily put me down."
' Damn... I never say that coming... but Kushina always was spirited.' Sighing, Kurama stretched his muscles, enjoying the new freedom his altered seal afforded to him. ' I will honor what you asked of me Kushina, you did more for me in that small talk then anyone ever has... besides, full freedom sounds amazing... a summon realm all to myself, or well to share with my siblings... still it sounds nice. No humans to hurt us, chase us or use us like weapons...'
Smiling, Kurama focused on his host and allowed a little more of his chakra to flow causing ripples to appear in the water before turning into a screen of what Naruto was seeing... hearing and smelling. ' It isn't perfect, but this is much better... having nothing to do for a century, this is practically heaven. Now, I guess I should figure out all she changed about the seal...hmm, I can enjoy the boy's senses, so there is that. I can channel my chakra all the more, so it will be easier to empower the power if I need to. I guess I should introduce him into his darkness... nah, I'll let that be my ace in the hole should he recend his words and become like every other human...'
Satisfied, Kurama slowly drifted into sleep, enjoying the background sounds of Hospital beeps and the scent of metal and chemicals.

Yes it was really fast but it was supposed to be. Kushina had mere moments and that was reflected by the chapters pacing... she is rough but she can't stick with niceties... Naruto needed more tough love then not.
