"How long has the discoloration been present?" Dr. Maheswaran poked his arm, watching as it blanched a soft violet before returning to a dark purple. "Hmm, the bloodflow isn't be restricted. Your capillary refill is perfect... has it spread past your left arm?"

Even nodded softly, looking fearfully at his prune colored limb. "Just barely... here." Without shame he pulled off his shirt, showing trails of purple like stretch marks reaching towards his heart. "It just got so much worse overnight. I mean before it was basically a large bruise, but now... well... you see." He shrugged, trying desperately to hide the beads of sweat giving his fears away. "Am I dying?"

The kindly, though very stern, Indian lady smiled at him with a hint of confusion. "To be honest with you... I have no idea. Without giving you a biopsy, I can't really do much other then surface examination. For instance, your body temperature is lower on your arm but not enough to be from poor oxygen diffusion in your blood. Your capillary refill is perfect, so it isn't poor circulation. Your heartbeat is a little low and your bloodpressure is lower as well, but only in this arm. I cannot smell rot, so I have a feeling your arm isn't decaying... to be honest nothing fits... So I ask you, can I take a biopsy? If I can exam your cellular structure, maybe I can figure out what is wrong with you."

Biting his own lip, imaging the pain of the various forms of biopsies, he managed a very shaky nod. " Sure... bloodwork too?"

"Of course. Normally we would have you go to a lab, but I think in this case I better be the one to take everything." She stood, brushing non existent dust from her lab coat. "I'll be right back." And so she left, probably to get her supplies, leaving Even to stew in his fear.

Absently, his lifted his right hand and allowed his fingers to dance over his purple flesh. "Cold... like running water or the ocean at dawn." A strange thrill washed through him at the sensation, a reminder of how unusual his current state was. "No one knows...cold, really cold..." He shivered and shivered, breathing out a long blast of water vapor. "Wait what... that's not good."

Panic quickly set in, the air decided to rush from his lungs.

"No, No, No... that's should be possible... it's not even winter or even that cold in here... Condensation shouldn't be possible, not with the typical human body having an internal temperature of 98.7 degrees! No, no no!"

Shaking as waves of cold washed over him, air became impossible to breathe in. The entire room started to swirl and the young man collapsed, rolling off of the bed and slamming into the ground. As his body started to be overcome by the cold, he quickly passed out with a few thoughts on his mind.

'What is happening to me? I'm a semester from graduation... I don't want to die before I become a nurse... I don't want to go yet... I don't want to go..'

I am in season two and am making my way through the series. I did not think I would enjoy this series as much as I have but oh boy do I adore it and Steven! Holy crap he is a great character!

Yes this is my own character, and one I am proud of!
