"What a beautiful lake!" Smiling, Michael could not help rush toward it, eager to take in the beautiful mist rising off of the crystal clear water. "It smells... awful." Recoiling, he turned away and saw the source... or some of it. " Oil and garbage, of course... ugh, humans suck." Walking away a little dismissed, he made a point to only breathe through his mouth.

The smell was truly terrible.

"At least the rest of my vacation has been great." Trying to return the smile to his face, Michael embraced the beautiful landscape as much as he could... even if, like in America, most of it was like a decorative pot. Beautiful but utterly unusable in any meaningful way. "I think I'll go back to my house after I check out those trees. Might get some great photos!"

Almost squealing in excitement, knowing that the pictures would be a great grade for his photography class, he all but sprinted towards the woods.

"Life was so simple then... running into the woods... taking pictures... feeling happy with mostly everything..."

So eager was he to get that great shot, he all but slammed into a tree, recovering due to pure excitement only to hear the most terrible sound.

"Buzzing but that..."

"But then everything changed... I had no idea it would change like it did but here I am..."

Without hesitating, he sprinted away, knowing full well of the horrors of Japanese Hornets and not wanting to die because of their terrible stings... He could hear them, chasing him, feel their wings beating against his shoulders...

"I wish I could take some of it back, but I really can't so all I can do it embrace it."

Then he fell, face first into some kind of hole, his head slamming into the ground.

"Not that I ever really had a choice, it all happened in the blink of an eye."

The last thing he saw, or didn't see, was Japanese hornets anywhere near him. The sky was clear around the glade he was in and all was quiet...

'My name Michael, American Foreign exchange student... and this is my story..."

Chapter over, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was short but I love the sense of urgency. If you know anything about Japanese Hornets you can understand his terror.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
