Starts in season two, first episode...
Also why does everyone hate Glee club? I can't imagine that there are not new kids naturally interested. Lot's of people love to sing and perform, so why would there be no one joining? It isn't universally hated or even disliked. Hell in my schools, all of them ( I attended four highschools and seven schools all together) everyone liked the Choirs...
This story was inspired by that complaint.
'Pain is a measure of faith
in self
in the world
Determining the value of what is
and What might be
once the pain has past
and deciding if it's worth it'
Smiling at the poem, Ian started to hum as he waited for the bus to stop. An edge of familiar excitement easily overtook him as he waited to start his first day of school at Mickenly. He had heard so much good about the place, it's incredible cheerleaders and even a burgeoning Gleeclub ( Whatever that was). It would be exciting...
Not even his bruised ribs, the searing ache of his breathes, could stop that excitement.
The School was large, an oddity for this far inland where the population rarely reached high enough to require such a large building. Even the buses were uncommonly clean and nice and functional. There wasn't gum on most of the seats or chew spit on the ground, a record as far as Ian was aware! It was really a nice change and one he welcomed. For the first time he felt like he a chance, possibilities to do something fun with highschool instead of the normal dredge.
'Let's hope it actually happens...'
Holding onto that hope, instead of the dread of what would happen if he actually asked his father's permission to join any of the groups bar football, he all but floated into the school where he saw an uncommonly handsome group of students...
'Is this a model school or... what?' His eyes caught that of a girl, one of three, in a cheerleaders outfit. The first was a buxom blonde with a smug smirk, with two trailing girls. One a tall thin blonde with a vacant expression, the other a stunning Hispanic girl with a very perky chest. They were wearing a very, very revealing outfit that hugged their curves and skin showing a lot of leg.
It was a little strange if he was being honest, and not really appropriate.
'How do they get away with it? When Sis did cheerleading they had skirt lengths, and couldn't show any cleavage. These are more... professional? Probably helps them win.'
Satisfied with his answer, he hurried away and made his way to his first class and the one he dreaded most...
Spanish.
Sitting towards the front, where there was always free seats, he just waited for people to trickle in. It took about ten minutes for them to all to arrive and then the teacher came and he was beautiful.
Not very tall, but with the most perfectly chiseled cheeks and chin and curly hair that rivaled Ian's own sexy jew fro. He smirked and smiled sort of at the same time, before speaking. "Weclome back everyone, I hope you had a good summer."
Those words, as they always did, made Ian pale.
The pain in his ribs seared through and he was reminded that no he did not have a good summer... but he smiled and nodded, like everyone else did. It's all e could do. It was the safe answer, the right answer, and it was the one he would go with.
" I see only one new student, Ian right? Care to introduce yourself?" The man smiled kindly as if he did not put Ian in an awkward positon…
Still it was nothing more then what Ian was used to. " My name is Ian McDowell. I'm from New York. My family moved here to be closer to my mom's paternal side."
"Nice to meet you Ian. Anything you are looking forward too?"
"Uh, well, I was told you have a good Glee club. I'm not sure if I can sing but I like to try so could be fun."
This was a mistake and Ian knew it instantly, the sounds of snickers and cruel remarks echoed behind him but the Teacher ( Who's name he was still unsure of) beamed.
"I lead the Glee club, Auditions are today if you want to join."
Shaking, Ian smiled. " My dad wants me to play football, so I might not be able to."
"Tryouts were months ago. Your too late for that, I'm afraid..." Sighing, the man grabbed a paper and handed it over to Ian, as if he did not realize that isolating a student had consequences. "Come and try during lunch."
"Will do." Smiling despite everything, Ian folded the paper and put it away. He ignored the heckling he was used to it. God knew he dealt with worse at home, these idiots couldn't do anything worse to him them his dad did daily.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
I like the idea of actually addressing real issues with this universe...
