Bear with me, this is an experiment... I suck at Harry Potter stories... so I decided to screw following canon and just use my own character...

"Avada kedavra!" Green horrible light blasted across the landscape, filling it with power. A body fell with a thump against the ground. "Pathetic Muggle, standing up against the Dark Lord... what a waste."

Fog formed around the fallen form, the light dimming leaving the image of a dead body laying prone on the ground. The face was obscured by the the fog... but the image was known...

The wielder of the voice turned, facing the remaining body. "And you... you contacted us, begged us to help you, to set up the world for your daughter... and yet you betrayed us."

"You betrayed us, you and your master are nothing but monsters! " The new voice was a women's, soft but powerful. "You just want to hurt people, not help us. I regret nothing!"

"CRUCIO!"

The women's voice shattered with a gasp before a horrid scream shattered the night.

"MOM!" Melody sat up straight, gasping for breathe as the remnants of the dream haunted her. "What ... I haven't... had that dream in so long." She shuddered, sitting up and folding her legs. She dropped into her meditation. "It's just a dream... just a dream... just a dream... just a dream... all is well... all is well... all is well..."

Slowly, she felt her heart calm down as she breathed in and out, moving past the horrid remnants of the dream. A dream that had been haunting her for years... one that she hadn't had in two years.

"Okay... I'm fine." Standing up, Melody leapt out of her bed and marched over to her dresser, grabbing the amber necklace from it's center. "Okay mom... I guess I get to see you today... I missed you." With a feeling that wasn't quite happiness she placed on her mother's old necklace, feeling it's cold grace her skin. With the center piece placed on her skin, she quickly got dressed in her black jeans and shirt, tossing on her leather coat.

She quickly checked her braids, happy to see they were still set nicely. She wouldn't need to get them checked for a while, not that they ever unraveled. To her and her beautician's amazement, her hair was always healthy and set despite her nice white Foster parents having no idea how to take care of a biracial girl's hair.

"Are you up Mel?" The sound of Dotty, her foster mom, made her smile.

"Yeah, I'm up... what's for breakfast?"

"Boiled eggs and hashbrowns. It'll be done in a minute."

"I'll be down shortly." And so she was, after putting on her lotions and potions and a squirt of her favorite perfume. Citrusy and sweet, her favorite smell besides cinnamon. Happy she hoped out of the door and made her way down the stairs where she saw her Foster Mother busy over the stove. Melody adored Dotty, she and her husband Bryce, were wonderful people who took her in selflessly and without thought. She had lived with them for two years, since the day of her last dream... that last horrible, weird, magical dream. "Good morning, Luvs. How are you doing today?"

Dotty turned to her, a smirk on her face. "I am lovely, you seem in a right good mood."

"I am... I mean I know I am seeing mom today, but something just feels... good. I can't explain it." A weird shudder, unrelated to her dream washed over her. Her mind expanded and she felt something tickle in her heart. The words came out without stop after that. " I think we are having a visitor today." She hummed, the thought feeling right as it came out of her mouth. "Yes... I feel like I'm right...and it's for me. Not sure why, but that is what I feel."

"Oh Mel, you and your psychic powers... I guess I should prepare a plate and some tea for them. Your predictions have yet to be wrong." And that is exactly what Dotty did, setting a third plate down with some tea... just as the doorbell rang. "I should have guessed, would you be a dear and get your guest?"

Happy, Melody turned on heel and marched towards the door. She opened it up slightly, seeing a matronly older women with a green tar tar set of robes. She seemed stern with her grey hair and glasses, and yet she felt strong too. Melody knew instantly that this was a women that was not to be trifled with.

"Hello, who is ringing may I ask?"

The women turned to her, a slight smile breaking over her face. "Melody Woodard?"

Melody nodded, happy her prediction came true. "That would be me."

"My name is Minerva McGongall, Deputy Head Mistress of Hogwarts. I have some things that I need to discuss with you and your parents. May I come in?"

"We were expecting you." She smiled, opening the door.

The women frowned. "Expecting me?"

"Sorry, I am a little Psychic. I knew we'd be having a visitor. We set you a plate and some tea. Come on. You like your tea plain right, no sugar?" The words came to her passively, and she knew their truth. "You won't be eating here though, you think it's too unprofessional... sorry, I get ahead of myself a lot."

The women blinked before stepping into the house and following her down the hall to the dinning room, where Dotty was smiling from her seat. "Hello, who are you?"

"Minerva McGonagall... Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts... I have come here to reveal quite a bit..." The women sat down, taking a sip of her tea.

Dotty's smile faded. " Hogwarts...what is that?"

"A school... for Witch Craft and Wizardry. You daughter, Melody, is a witch and has been accepted to the greatest school of magic in the world." The declaration hit Melody hard, the words harsh and powerful... and it brought up a painful series of memories, memories from her dream that night. Dreams that had been haunting her for years.

Melody slumped in her seat, a green light flashing before her eyes as a shudder over took her. " Avada kedavra."

Minerva jumped in her seat, her eyes wide and a wand in her hand. "How do you know that horrible spell?" Her foster mom looked at her, pained and shocked.

"I dreamt of it, have since I was young... and a red light, and I heard that word... crucio. My mother... in my dreams she was hit with that spell. She is in the hospital now, I was going to see her today. She is... damaged, broken from whatever happened to her." Shaking and near sobs, Melody grasped the necklace her mother had left her. "I remember it... so well... the light, green light... hit my father... he... fell and he never rose up."

She heard a scoot of a chair, and soon felt her Foster Mother's arms around her. "Breathe, it's okay... shhh..."

"My dear, how... when was your father killed?" That was Minerva, who's voice was soft and pained.

"I was a toddler, no one knew what happened... they just... they... I... I remembered. I remember... " She closed her eyes and allowed herself, for the first time, to remember the whole dream. "I remember shouting and growls... and fighting. The moon was full...I ... I remember hearing Obliviate... it was like cool water washing over my mind... but I... I couldn't...something pushed against it...hot and afraid... The dreams started after that. I have been having them for years. I had it today, the first time in two years. Since Dotty took me in. I thought it just a dream... a nightmare..."

Minerva held out her hand, grasping Melody's hands. " I am so sorry, my child... truly I did not come here to stir up such pain."

"What is morsmodre... I think they said... and their was a skull ... with... a snake... I can't... it's too fuzzy. They called them muggles..."

"Morsmordre..." McGongall sighed. "It is a spell woven by the greatest evil our world has ever seen. There was a terrible war, when you were a toddler it ended... but it lasted for years. Eleven years to be precise... it was his sign... I am sorry my child, your parents seem to have been taken down by the Death Eaters, his servants... We call him You Know Who... we do not say his name, since he died."

"Fear is a powerful thing... " Shuddering, a sense of new purpose washed over Melody. "I need to know more, everything I can... like what was Oblivate and why can I remember what happened when I was a toddler?"

"Obliviate is a memory wiping spell... I believe that the Aurors, our police force, found you after the death of your parents and wiped your memories of the horrors due to believing you were a muggle, a non magical person like your parents... a strong mind and powerful accidental magic, you could have resisted the spell. If you really have seer potential, then that would help you with that. You may have seen into the past itself, if that is possible. Seers are a rare thing, so I cannot help you too much with that." Minerva sighed. "I am sorry my coming here has brought so many painful memories... but there is a golden light. You were accepted to harness your gifts and learn magic at Hogwarts. It is all paid for, since you are muggle born and not in a particularly wealthy family."

"Tell me more."

"And then she turned the dinning room table into a lion, it was amazing Mom." Melody smiled at her mother, the women's grey hair sticking out wildly. "She said I start school in a few weeks... she will be taking me to get my school supplies next week. I can't tell anybody, less our memories will be taken... that already happened to be before mom. I know the truth. What happened to you... I am so sorry."

She cried, hugging her mother close even if her mom didn't hug her back. "I love you, Mommy... so much. I won't get to see you throughout the year, so be good for Dotty and Bryce okay?"

As per usual her mother just hummed, smiling emptily at her.

"I think I want to be an Auror, fighting the people... the monsters that hurt you and Daddy... I... I don't want anyone to suffer like you guys did." She leaned in and quietly, whispered. "The dream... I ... I remember that you said that you worked for them... but why mom? Why would you... I ... sigh... I guess I'll never find out. I can't even share this at school, that you were attacked by deatheaters. I guess a lot of people lost their entire families to these guys and they wouldn't be too happy with a muggle born talking about losing family when no one can prove it. Who would believe that I would even remember... sigh... I love you mom, but this sucks. It all sucks... but I get to be a witch... hey, maybe I can learn to heal you!" Excitement rushed into her heart. "Yeah, I could do that... I have so many new goals now... learn to control my sight, learn to fight... heal you... It may take me a long time, but Mommy I will help you... I promise."

She kissed her mom's soft wrinkly cheek before standing up. "I got to go, but I will be back. I love you so much..." Turning on heel, she marched out of the room and onward to the new adventure of her life...

Chapter end tell me what you think in the reviews.

I wanted to establish her uniqueness and the specificity of her powers early... I rarely see Seers played with...I also wanted to showcase the suddenness of it. The lack of accidental magic making it more fun...

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
