Chapter 6

Konoha Ninja Academy

Sitting in the back of the class while his teacher, Iruka Umino, and his assistant, Mizuki, were going through what the four years at the academy entails was naruto. Listening carefully, he found that the first year was just some physical conditioning and history of konoha. The second year would have weapon training and being taught the basic academy taijutsu style. In their third year, they would be taught advanced katas for the academy taijutsu style and be introduced to chakra along with basic chakra control exercises and basic chakra theory. In the fourth and final year, they would go through basic ninjutsu, taught handseals and learn the academy three (henge, kawarimi and bunshin). After this they would take the final exam where they will ne placed into a team of 3 with a jounin sensei. He was greatly disappointed with the curriculum and sighed as he gazed around the class making note of the individuals in his class.

He first noticed a blonde girl with a high ponytail and a fringe covering her left eye. She wore purple clothing that looked new with bandages wrapped around her midsection. Her name was Ino Yamanaka, heiress to the yamanaka clan.

Next to her, he noticed a pink haired girl with a huge forehead. She and ino were like two peas in a pod as they both looked like they never ran a lap in their lives. He noted her name as Sakura Haruno, daughter of the civillian council head Mebuki Haruno.

Then he saw a feral looking boy with a dog on his head. Immediately recognizing him as an Inuzuka, he noted his name as Kiba Inuzuka, younger son of clan head Tsume.

Then there was a chubby boy who ate like no tomorrow, but he was a kind person unless he was called fat. His name is Choji Akimichi, heir to the akimichi clan.

Next to choji is a boy with a pineapple shaped hairstyle. He was sleeping. He is the nara heir, shikamaru.

Then he saw the girl he had saved all those years ago. Hinata, he remebered her name was, daughter of Hiashi and heiress to the hyuuga clan.

Beside her was a stoic looking boy wearing a pair of sunglasses. He is Shino Aburame, heir to the aburame clan.

Finally he saw sasuke sitting in front corner, glaring at the window. He already had fangirls in this class and his two biggest were ino and sakura.

He had tried to befriend them but they both scoffed with ino saying he wasn't worth her time and sakura screeching that nobody wanted to be friends with a clanless loser orphan like you so he gave up on trying to get their friendship.

Deciding to use the four years to increase and refine his skills, he would also follow the rule that deception is a ninja's greatest tool.

Breaking out of his thoughts, he heard the voice of iruka saying to head outside for weekly taijutsu spars. He watched with disinterest as most of the class went about their spars. Only hinata had a good match but they were restricted to the academy style otherwise she could have ended it sooner.

"Ino vs Sakura," came the shout of mizuki. What followed was a poor display of taijutsu. Shaking his head and thinking that none of these girls would last ten seconds with izumi. Soon the boys names were being called. One by one the boys had their matches until the last ones were called, "Naruto vs Sasuke."

Sasuke charged and threw a right punch which was sidestepped. Naruto continued to evade and block sasuke's strikes which only infuriated the young uchiha more. Seeing an opening naruto struck and soon sasuke was on the floor. Pressing the advantage, naruto moved to hold him down but sasuke was frustrated and threw a handful of sand into naruto's eyes. Not expecting a cheap trick like that, naruto was then hit twice and received a kick to the chest which resulted in the match being called in sasuke's favour.

Saying nothing, naruto walked off to wash off the sand from his eyes only telling iruka he was heading to the infirmary.

Few minutes before

Izumi had just finished her mission and was heading to the academy so that she could train with naruto. She saw the entire match and was disgusted at her brother's attitide. Seeing naruto walk off, she followed him and saw him punch the wall in frustration.

"hey" she called. Turning around, naruto saw her and asked why she was there to which she responded she was waiting for the academy to be over so that they could go train. "I saw the match, I feel for my brother's folly," said izumi in her monotone voice. "No need for you to apologize, it was not your actions" responded naruto.

Nodding to him, they both left to the roof where they watched everyone leave. They leapt to their usual training grounds and trained till the sun went down, had some food and walked the streets before coming to a fork where they separated.

"Goodnight izumi," stated naruto.

"Goodnight naruto," replied izumi as she walked towards the uchiha compound while naruto walked towards his home.
