AN: I don't own My hero academia
You lost the baby!
"Wow! Look at him go," Fuyumi cooed while holding her cheeks from the sheer cuteness.
Little Izuku was clawing around like a pro. He was determined to get back what was stolen from him. His precious endeavour plushie. Natsuo took it from him the moment he found out the baby could crawl. He thought he would cry like the other times. Not this time. This time the baby fought hard to get it back. Well, as hard as a little over half year-old baby could fight. He was still no match for the much older boy, but that didn't mean he couldn't try. Boy did he try. Scurrying around on his hands and knees to catch up. In the end he cornered the much taller boy to a wall corner. Having him now trapped, the baby tried to reach as high as he could to get back his toy. It did not work. Natsuo held the toy higher than his tiny hands could hope to reach.
Natsuo giggled at the baby futile attempts to take back what was stolen from him. Then he had the misfortune to look into the baby's deep green eyes. They were quivering like his lips. Glossed over with a sheen of pleads. His tiny hands opened and closed in hopes to grab his stolen toy. All he got was air. Feeling the guilt crawling at his back, Natsuo gave back the toy. Overjoyed Izuku howled in laughter cuddling the toy tightly. He was so happy that he cuddled the leg of the one who took it. Natsuo stared at the baby attached to his leg. "Can you not." he asked. His cheeks set ablaze despite the tough guy look he tried to have.
Fuyumi then slid in with a cheeky grin. "He's really cute. Isn't he?"
"All babies are cute."
Fuyumi got him now. She grinned smugly and poked at his side. "Ah! So, you admit he is cute!
Natsuo cheek's blushed as he snapped his head away. "Shut up! He's still weird."
Fluffing up her cheeks, Fuyumi stood up to her younger brother. "Why do you have to be so rude to Izuku."
"Why does he still have to be here," he countered back with an eyeroll.
"Come on. It's not that bad."
The boy could look at his sister. If there was one thing, he was truly weak against it was her sad eyes. He didn't want to be convinced. He just couldn't quite accept the child as much as his other siblings already have. It just felt so weird. None of this made any sense to him. "Whatever. Why do we have to babysit? Doesn't he have a nanny."
Fuyumi browns frowned. She was getting tired of talks like this, "Because that what's older siblings do."
"We're not even his real siblings!" her brother shouted back.
And so, the two of them got into their usual arguments. This one was a little more serious than usual. Natsuo was still abrasive towards the little green baby. The fact that the baby had this more the strange infatuation with his father made it worst for him. His father was not someone he or anyone should like easily. Although he was more so he was confused on why he was still here. Should not he have been sent back to wherever he came from. Fuyumi kept trying to explain to him the process of adoption. Clearly her mother adopted this child for a reason. Maybe something happened to them. She wasn't sure and either was Natsuo. What she did know was Izuku was most like here to stay if Izuku was here even now.
While the two were yelled at each other, Izuku looked up at them. He was still holding on to his fiery friend. He held the plushie tighter when their voiced were raised. Tears whelmed up in his big green eyes. Why are they loud like that? It's so scary. Did he do something wrong? He tried to give them his plushie by holding it up as high as he could for them. The toy always seemed to make him feel better. So, it should work for them too. Still, the two continued with yelling match. At this point he was going to join the with his cries. That was until he stopped something beyond the cack of his room. His eyes lit up. He soon crawled his way towards the door. Luckily, the crack in the door was just enough for him to squeeze through.
"But why is adoption a thing? Doesn't he have parents of his own."
"I don't know. Maybe his parents aren't around anymore or something."
"But why do we have to take him."
"I don't know! Mon is nice like that I guess," Fuyumi sighed getting sick of their back-and-forth arguments with no end in sight. Then she remembered Izuku. She gave a nervous closed eye smile to the baby at her feet. "I'm sorry about that Izuku. You should…" it was then she realised there was no baby at her feet. The baby wasn't around at all. "Natsuo, do you see the baby."
They both made a quick seep of the room. There was no baby. This could be a problem.
"You lost the baby!" Touya screamed at his siblings.
Beet red Fuyumi twiddled her fingers. She didn't want to admit it. Especially since she considers herself as the responsible type. All the while Natsuo make a whistling tune until his brother's heated gaze become too hot to handle. He chuckled while turned away. Those eyes were just too intense. "No…we just miss placed him."
The anger lines on their elder brother's face grew. He was practically tearing his hairs out. "That's the exact same thing," he scolded through his grinding teeth.
"Will you help us find him or not!"
Leaving him with not much choice, Touya agreed to help find the missing baby. They looked high and low for him but nothing. He wasn't in any of their rooms. He wasn't in their parent's room. Thank god. He wasn't in the kitchen. Nor was he anywhere in the garden. Just how fast can that baby move? He shouldn't have gone that far but he had to if they couldn't find him anywhere. The three of them were about to give up. They each thought of last will testimony once their father found out. Who knows what he would do to them?
Speaking of their father. Endeavour found his biological children sitting defeated on the patio. He recently returned from work. The day was slow so he went home early knowing his sidekicks can handle minor tugs. He was still in costume, but his flames were out for the time being. Overuse of his quirk would get him overheated. Still, he liked to wear them when he could to keep pushing his limits. The hero stared at his three children as their heads hanged low. He wondered what they were all doing them. Also wasn't Touya supposed to be studying. "Touya. Don't you have a test coming up? Or do you feel confident in your succession?"
All three of them jumped at the sound of their father's voice. It was the last thing they expected and wanted to hear. "Dad! You're home."
He nodded at the obvious comment. "The agency is running slow today, so I came home earlier. What are you all doing out there?"
"Nothing!" they all yelled panicked.
Endeavour gave them a look of suspicion. Why do they look so jittery?
The children would have cracked if it wasn't for Touya steering the conversation away. "You know what? I really should revise. Thank you for the reminder, dad." He said in a hurry and dashed off. Natsuo and Fuyumi also gave vague excuses and dashed after their older brother.
Shrugging his shoulders, Endeavour went on his way. He may have extra time to himself, but he'd be damned if he was going to slack off. He is the number 2 hero and with someone like All Might as his rival he couldn't afforded to slack off. He had to continually improve to stay in his spot. One day he'll go beyond it. That seemed more like a pipe dream with every passing day. Still, he had to try. He worked too hard for too long not to try. Besides what better way to use up his time than training? While walking towards his personal gym he noticed something peculiar. The door was slid open. Not completely open but wide enough to be very noticeable. How odd. He could have sworn it was closed the last he left it. Then another odd thing happened.
"Hahhh!" piped out something from the darkness of room.
Arching an eyebrow, Endeavour curiously opened the door wider and switched on the lights. They reveal the peculiar sight hidden in the darkness. The hero's turquoise eyes widen in a mix of shocked curiosity at the scene before him.
There on a mat was the missing baby who appeared to be smacking an abandon small weight. The little green child was so focused on it. Mainly for the fact it would not move no matter how many times he smacked it. it was half his size so in his baby mind he should be able to move it. Yet nothing. His freckled cheeks puffed up. Turning slightly red. He will move this thing. His baby mind swore. He placed his too tiny hands on the thin metal bar of the weight. Although, in his perspective his hands could barely cover half of it. He was going to do his best anyway. Little Izuku pushed. And pushed. And pushed but nothing. Didn't even move a centimetre. His eyes started to gloss at his failure. There was only one thing left to do. Eat it! The baby opened his mouth wide and chopped his gummy mouth on the metal bar whimpering all the while.
Seconds letter he felt something curl around his stomach. Then he was pulled away from the weight. A much larger hand gripped it and lifted it up effortlessly. Izuku eyes grew ten times from sheer amazement. He gasped impressed and followed the arm to meet the owner. That when his green eyes met the stern expression of the flamed hero. Well, de-flamed hero.
Endeavour shook his head. "Haven't I told you already you are far too young to train?"
Izuku paid no mine to the hero words. Instead, he was more interested at the miracle happening before him. Excitedly he pointed at the weight the hero was miraculously holding. "Bah!"
The hero glanced at the weight and smirked. "This isn't at all impressive. I can lift a weight 10 times the size of this."
"OHH!" Izuku let out as if he understood.
Amused by the baby wide eye expression, Endeavour kept him cradle in one arm while using the other to pick up a new weight that was 10-times the size of the last. This time he had to put a little effort in his lift, but it was not enough to slow him down.
Izuku was raving. He happily laughed in the hero's arm while clapping is tiny hands.
"Well, aren't you easily amused," Endeavour chuckled. "It's not that impressive really."
Then little Izuku tried to reach out to the much bigger weight. As if trying to say: let me try! Let me try!
Of course, Endeavour did not let him try. He just lifted the weight further from the baby's reach.
This did not pleased Izuku as he started to whimper. "naaa.. baaa…ahhh."
"Don't even try," Endeavour said sternly. "You haven't even unlocked your quirk yet. What makes you think you can do this?"
"Bal la wa!" argued the baby.
Endeavour shook his head. "No. You couldn't even lift the other weight."
"BA DA!"
"No buts! You are far too small and feeble. This thing could crush you."
"Wa wa ha."
"How did you get here? Shouldn't you be in your crib…" It was then the hero had a sudden realisation. One that came to him when he remembered his little run in with the children earlier. Intensely, he stared at the baby. "Did my children lose you?"
Izuku tilted his head, "wa la?"
"How did they lose you?"
"Aw aw o."
"You don't say."
As if god had a sense of humour the other three Todoroki siblings skated around the corner. Each one harshly pushing the others. They were arguing amongst themselves. Something about who will tell their father? Eventually, they noticed their father's stern expression and froze like statues. They uneasily gulped at the sight, but then sighed in relief at the sight of Izuku safely in the hero's arms. The baby giggled at them and waved. It was a pleasant sight in contrast of their father's heated gaze. Choosing a sacrifice, the older Todorokis pushed their youngest sibling forward.
Natsuo growled at his other siblings before turning to his father. He looked like a mountain while he was staring up at him. Was he always that big? He knew he was always this scary looking. Then again, his intimidation factor was severity dampened due to the tiny baby smiling oblivious at him. The child even had the nerve to wave. No time for that. Natsuo gulped down his nervousness and forced on a smile. "Oh, hi dad. I see you found Izuku. We were playing hide and seek. Trying to find the little rascal and all. We didn't lose him honestly. He's just really good and since you found him. That makes you the winner! Yay?"
His older siblings behind him had the strongest urge to face palm themselves. Out of all the excuses. That's the one he decided to go with.
Endeavour continued to stare down at his children. His heated gaze travelled at long all three. The each of them shivered. All trying their best not to show how nervous they were and failing. It felt like a century before their father spoke to them. "Touya, Fuyumi, Natsuo."
"YES!" they squeaked.
"Returned Izuku to his room." He said simply while holding out the overly cheerful baby.
"Yes." They cheered in relief. Being the closest, Natsuo, took the baby from their father. He then gave them too his sister. Now with their baby brother found they turned their backs on their father. Surprisingly not getting punished. Who would have though he would fall for such a silly lie…
"I will also like a word with you three after. Make sure Izuku is back in his crib. Do you understand?"
They spoke too soon. "yes, father," they cried.
AN: and another one off the list. Next one is going to be a little interesting.
Now time for a little something I like to call what goes inside my mind. Mainly for the reason why I made Natsuo into such a bratty character. This is completely intentional. For one I never wanted this to be a completely fluffy story where everyone instantly loves Izuku. That would get boring after some time and I like to add in some substance. That means I need conflict and looking at the characters I have to work with Natsuo was the perfect character to start off mildly.
For one he's young. Like really young and was the youngest until Izuku came alone. So that instant jealousy of a new baby is there but it's made worst by the fact that Izuku clearly isn't blood related to him. To him Izuku is just a random baby that doesn't belong in his family. He can't really understand why Izuku is stuck with them now. He's just forced to deal with it. From what I can tell about Natsuo he really loves his family asides from endeavour. Which leads me to my next point to why Natsuo wouldn't like Izuku right way. His strange interests of the hero. To him that is genuinely weird and only adds to his slow acceptance.
Rychan6 – Well we're reached the crawling stage. Honestly, he probably would try and lick an outlet. considering the events of this chapter they'll need to keep a better eye on.
Liziliza – yes, a very sweet walk with big sister Fuyumi. Touya was made to a protective type. He is the oldest and therefore takes a lot of responsibility on himself.
Superjukes2 – pure yes. We do have baby Izuku after all.
Persephone-Gaia – well he is a baby and is Izuku. Not even Endeavour can scare him.
Cl3m0ntine – well here it is.
That's all. see you next time.
