AN: I don't own My hero Academia

I'm sorry

Since day one, Rei never thought much of the baby she took into her own home. They were only meant to be a tool she could use against her husband. A knife of warning to show what she was willing to do. She wouldn't handle this abuse silently for much longer. The yelling, the neglect of her and her children and the over training of her eldest. She would do something. Even if it was crazy. That was it. She never thought of the long term of having the baby. Sure, she tried to care for him the best she could. And of course, she felt guilty for practically kidnaping the child form his real parents. She couldn't look the child in the face for months leaving his care in the hands of her children. Yet that was all overshadow by this sadistic satisfaction that her husband would not get the child of his dreams. As well as the vague and dying the hopes of somehow. Someway her husband would finally understand. Even change.

He did change. Just not in the way she could ever imagine.

It started slow, with little things. Reminding her to feed the baby. Once in a blue moon he would visit the baby. Gave him a couple of things to furnish his originally bare room. The minimal amount of care that was required of him as she expected. Then the days rolled by. His visits became more frequent. Every once in awhile now felt like every day. He would ask about the child's condition. Even goes as far as giving the child his personal attention. Feeding him. Holding him. Slowly, more and more, he was looking like a real father. For a child that wasn't even their own. The most boggling thing was that he looked like he was enjoying himself.

An ugly feeling pickled at her heart at every sight he seen those two together. How dare this random child take her husband's attention. He had no right. Still, she couldn't completely roll out her role in the whole affair. She was the one that brought this child in. That and she did achieve her goal. He husband was changing. Becoming more affectionate. Even if it was only slightly. All because of this baby.

Unsteadily, Rei strolled closer to the crib. She didn't know what drew her to this room now. She wasn't needed after all. All their needs were meant until later in the day. Perhaps it was because of yesterday's event. The child wilfully walked towards her husband. Surprisingly, her husband looked proud while the child took his fist steps. He never looked at her children that way. He was never there when each of them took their first steps. Words. First everything. Always too busy. It wasn't until Touya's showed signs of a powerful fire quirk that he even grew an interest in one of them. Neglecting the other two. Now there was this child. She leaned into the crib. Her eyes cold as ice.

Baby Izuku was sleeping. Until he felt the frosty pair of eyes on him. His eyes blinked awake. The first thing he saw was Rei's cold expression. It sent an uneasy feeling down his little body. His limbs clenched closer to himself doing his best to protect his vulnerable body. He whimpered ever so softly. There was this untrusting in his eyes that glossed with nervousness.

Softly, her cold expression changed to a gentle forced smile. She picked up the baby. Their sensitive skin shivered at her cold touch. Then she rocked him while leaning into their ear. "I'm sorry. I'm the one who took you way from your true family. I wanted to use you to get back at my husband. I do hope you understand," she whispered half-heartedly.

Izuku only whimpered in response. While he couldn't possibly understand anything the woman was saying. He could still feel the woman's coldness. It made him feel stick yet there was little he could do about it. He didn't even have the heart to cry.

"I'm uncertain who they are or where my real baby boy is. I'm sure he's fairing better than all my current children. My husband doesn't look at them you see. Only Touya has ever made an impression and that's only because he's strong. He has a very powerful quirk and is destined to be my husband's successor. It comes with a price, however. My husband trains my poor boy like a horse. We constantly must treat him since his body can't handle his flames well yet. Then there's my precious Fuyumi and Natsuo. They're such bright kids, but my husband refused to look at them because they were too weak. In exchange for the lack of affection form their father. They are free to do as they liked. A fair yet unfair exchange." Her smile drooped to a firm frown. Eyes of ice sharply shot at the baby's back. Her whole aura grew colder and colder. "Then there's you. I've never seen my husband give much affection to any one of us. Yet he willingly gives it to you. Don't you think that's odd?"

"Eh..meh…" Izuku whispered softly. The cold that encased him made he scared. He was scared of this woman.

"Perhaps it's only because he felt obligated to help you. My husband is strange that way. He always but his obligations first. Like his work, Touya's training, etc. Rest and spending time with his true family always came last or never." A wicked smile curled on her lips. "Then again I admit you have your usage. If my husband keeps changing maybe that affection will spill over to the rest of us. His true family." Giggling, Rei lifted the baby as high as she could. Her eyes now filled with malicious hope. "Just promise me you'll be weak. Don't have a powerful quirk. Other wised all the attention that was on my dear Touya will shift to you. That wouldn't be fair at all. So be weak. Fade into the background. Counite to soften my husband. And then…"

Izuku couldn't take it anymore. The fear he was holding back unleashed into a loud cry. "WAHHHHH!"

Instantly, Rei panicked. Genuine concern painted her face while she held the child close to her chest. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," she chimed rapidly while rocking the baby. "Did I scare you? Oh, I'm so sorry."

Suddenly, the door to the nursery slid opened. Endeavour came tumbling through with a panicked expression. "What happened?" he demanded but it lack the authority Rei grew used to. The roughness. The intimidation. Now laced with care and worry. He met the worried eyes of his wife while the baby was crying in her arms. "Are you two alright?"

An unexpected question. It was so sudden Rei completely forgotten how out of character he sounded. "I'm not sure. He woke up and started crying," she cried. "I'm trying to calm him down but it's not working."

Then Izuku noticed the hero. His volume lowered while his tiny arm's reach out to the man. "Wh! Wha! Wha!"

Meeting the baby's begging eyes, he instantly took the hint. "Give him here."

Nodding, Rei carefully transformed the baby to her husband's opened arms.

Endeavoured curled the baby protectively in his arms. Rocking to calm the child down. Izuku hooked his tiny grip at the hero's cotton shirt and sniffed. Not even a few second past the baby's cries silenced. Their eyes grew heavy as they closed again for a slumber. Both adults let out a sigh of relief. The hero kept the baby close. Rocking him just a little longer. That gentle smile was on him again. he was showing it a lot more often. "It's ok little one. There is nothing to fear. Not when you're under my protection," He stated in a whisper.

Rei watched the little interaction. Get again the prickly feeling twisted around her heart. It was ok though. Her husband was softening more and more. the baby has proven to be unexpectedly useful because of this. She smiled. Yes, she will use this baby a little more. then her husband's affectation will belong to their children eventually. In time maybe. Just maybe. He will finally love her as well.

AN: ok allow me to explain my logic. Also, side note I am a manga reader and writing this while also keeping up with the manga is strange given the current few chapters. For those who bother to read this you know what I'm talking about. I mean damn that's how it all went down. I can safely this will be a very different from that.

Anyway, for this fic continuity Endeavour holds little to no romantic love for Rei. It was something she secretly wanted in the early stages of her marriage. Sadly, she like the other children, they are obligations to him. He will give the minimal amount of affection. Paired this to the fact they're kind of incompatible and the hash expectations push on Touya she went a little crazy. She was a little crazy in the original what with the hot water incident. This craziness and stress lead her to kidnap Izuku kind of on a whim. She never once thought Endeavour would soften up thanks to the child. at first really wanted to be a mom to Izuku. She couldn't do this right way since the guilt of kidnapping a child prevented her from coming close to him hence her lack of involvement so far. But then the shift happened and now all that is out the window. In her eyes Izuku is stealing the affection of her husband that should rightfully belong to their blood children.

Now Rei isn't the type of character to attack the child just yet. She's too soft. If anything, she'll be passive aggressive. Right now, Izuku isn't a complete threat. She'll be cautious around him and will not love him like she does her other children. Anyway, that's all. Let me get on with reviews.

Papireaz – well baby Izuku and endeavour talks are just so funny to me. Although this chapter is anything but fun. Hope it's still a little enjoyable or at least intreating.

ManGuyPerson – Rei wouldn't do anything to Izuku. She's not that type of character…then again, she did pour boiling water on one of her sons and left the another burning in the original cannon. Yeah, maybe Izuku isn't so safe.

gustavleon2 – ok this one…this one is so long and detailed I feel like I should do this personally. But in short, I have plans. This will be a very long and interesting ride.

fencer29 – as much as I would have loved to do a scene like this. And yes, that poor sidekick. But I wanted last chapter to be a little more solemn, so the comedy had to be tone down. I doubt anyone would take Endeavour seriously in that later half if he had baby vomit.

As for Rei she was around in the background. Her absent kind of shows how uncomfortable Izuku makes her feel. Allowing her children to take her role as carer most of the time.

liziliza – yes Izuku is too cute for endeavour not to smile. The baby is also tenacious and if Endeavour is anything it's determined to the point to madness. Small bit of respect for the baby trying to walk without help and despite falling many times. As for Rei she will be interesting and will certainly be surprised when Izuku turns 5.

Knightwalker405 – yeah, I agree as a manga reader as well. My personal interpretations to that whole event are way off. There are some similar over lapping aspects, but I didn't think Touya would be that eager. I'm sticking too my current version for this is fanfiction. If I suck too close to the cannon story this wouldn't be as fun or interesting. I'm barely going to follow canon as it is. If anything, I'll be changing the canon completely.

Earl John Diawatan – well it' not very Disney sitcom now is it. as I said before I never intended this to be completely fluffy.

Persephone-Gaia – endeavour and Izuku. An unlike duo that I somehow made cute. Then again you can't do much wrong with baby Izuku. In Rei's case this chapter pretty much tells how she is dealing with this.

Well that all. short and sad. Next one will be a little fluffier.
