AN: I don't own My hero Academia

You like that flower?

"Welcome home father." Touya greeted as his father walked through their front door. The boy bowed his head in greeting. In his arms was little Izuku with glossy eyes.

Seeing the small green child halted the hero's breath. He supposed it is time. "Izuku, there something you need to know."

"It's ok, father," Izuku whispered out. "Touya told me already." The hero was taken back but his eldest son gave him a thumbs up. Along with a smile that said nothing to worry about. Then he lifted his phone. On the screen was a video. More precisely a recording of the press conference early that day. It wasn't hard for the hero to put 2 and 2 together. The boy then carefully dropped his little brother allowing him to rush up to their father. He raised his arms up silently asking to be picked up. Endeavour of course accepted and Izuku soon wrapped his little arm around the hero's neck. "You won't throw me away. Will you?"

Endeavour huffed, "What nonsense. Of course not." Izuku whispered a soft thank you before cuddling his face on the hero's neck. He could feel his shoulders getting a little damp. The child seemed like a crier despite his constant joyful smiles. He patted the child's back whispering sweet words of calming. Then he turned to his eldest. He placed his large hand on the boy's shoulder and nodded with pride. "Good work, Touya."

The boy blushed a bit. "I did what I had to. It wasn't a problem."

Meanwhile and icy figure lurked in the background. The air around them dropped 10 degrees at the exchange. An icy handprint was imprinted on the wall before they turned away. Marching in the opposite direction. One thing came to mind. Did she make a mistake?

Days since the announcement of Izuku's existence and adoption. Nothing much happened in the Todoroki family. Even Izuku's usual attitude was felt unaltered. He was still the same well mattered little boy that liked to follow the family members around. Especially his father and oldest brother. Unfortunately, there was one place he wasn't allowed to follow them into. He tried numerous times, but he got scolded with each attempt. The training room where the two of them spend most of their time with. He wasn't even allowed to stand outside. This left him to spy on the other members of the Todoroki household. His current targets were his one and only sister and mother.

The two females were in the garden together with what appeared to be some mother and daughter bonding time. They were tending to the flowers a common past time for Rei. The woman simply loved flowers especially this one type with royal blue petals. They looked simply beautiful in her eyes. Garden maintenance was mostly left to her since she was so pushy about it. Not that Endeavour mind or care. So long as it's well kept, he didn't mind what they'll do to it. Rei just so happened to have a green thump despite her iciness.

Her daughter was more than happy to help as well. She loved spending time with her mother. A complete mother's girl all things considered. Even if it was sampling being in the same room as her, she liked to be with her when she could. It was a little different the past couple of years when she noticed something clearly off about the woman. Although with her fights with dad have lessened, she was becoming more recluse. The girl could never figure out why her mother became like that. Therefore, she learned to treasures these little moments where to woman looked free. While planting down a new flower Fuyumi noticed something in the corner of her eye. It was a tuft of green hair peeking out from the doorway. Her smile widened instantly. "Hi Izuku!" She cheered with a wave.

The small boy jumped at the sound of his name. Unable to hide anymore, Izuku stepped out to the porch. He was holding his little angry Endeavour toy with him. Shyly, he hid behind the toy's flamed head. He felt even more inclined to hide with Rei's grey eyes now aimed at him. They were cold like always. He couldn't find the words to speak with them pining him.

Luckily, Fuyumi said a couple of words for him. "You want to help us?" She offered.

The little boy thought for a while. Fiddling with the flames of his toy. Eventually, he gave the girl a shy nod. Then the girl called him over and he followed. He carefully placed his toy by the wall making it face out to the garden. He couldn't have them get dirty after all. The child even pointed at the toy telling it to stay there and watch. It made Fuyumi chuckle. Then he trotted down the steps and jogged up to his sister. She of course greeted him warmly with a smile. She would have hugged him too if her hands weren't currently covered it dirt.

The same cannot be said about Rei. The woman smiled of course, but it looked so dull and tired next to Fuyumi's. She soon got up from her crouched position and dusked some dirt from her legs. "I'm going back inside for a little bit and get some tea. Why don't you carry on without me for a bit, Fuyumi? You know what to do." Her little girl happily accepted without noticing this one little detail. Rei didn't acknowledge Izuku. She simply walked past the boy. Not even giving him a single glace.

Izuku noticed. He always noticed. It was a constant pattern with the woman, so it was hard for him not to. She always runs. When she was with his siblings, the second he walks along, she makes an excuse to leave. At times she comes back even if he was still there. That doesn't stop her from leaving even if it just a minute. The boy's eyes lowered while his lips formed a clear frown.

Completely oblivious, Fuyumi leaned her head closer to the boy slightly concern. "What's wrong, Izuku?"

The boy then shook his head in attention. "It's nothing. I was just thinking. What should I do?"

And so, Fuyumi happily should Izuku how to plant these new set of flowers their mother ordered in. Clearing out space with any weeds. Digging out holes and arranged the plants perfectly as their mother wanted. It wasn't too hard with the two of them working together. Izuku was a quick learner. Able to watch his sister and copy her movements exactly. To praise the small boy Fuyumi patted his fluffy head. His curls were so soft and bouncy to touch. It was just as much as a delight to her as it was to him. Despite the enjoyment the two siblings had by being together, Fuyumi could tell something wasn't right. For one their mother was taking a long-time making tea. They were almost halfway through planting. That and Izuku looked down. His smile was weaker than.

"What wrong, Izuku? Really," Fuyumi asked more concerned. "You look like something's bothering you."

The child panicked and tried to tough his sister off. "It's nothing really. I'm fine…uh…hum…" his eyes wandered to the high walls of the Todoroki estate. An idea pop to mind. "It's just uh…I'll be able to go outside soon. Yeah, that's it. I'll be going to school like Fuyumi and everyone. It scary."

Fuyumi raised a brown in suspicion. "But I thought you were excited about school. You've been asking dad to let you go outside the house for a while too. But you know with the media and all it won't be easy." The girl shivered at the thought. Since she was the daughter of a famous hero, she had her fair share of harassment from the media. Their cameras being shoved in her face. It was overwhelming and scary for a child. It's one of the main reasons the family barely goes out aside form essential things like school, work etc. At times it got so bad her dad had to send out restraining orders. That didn't stop people from trying, complaining and finding loopholes. Izuku hasn't been exposed to that yet so she understood his impatience excitement. Still, her sisterly instincts were telling her that wasn't it. There was something else the boy was hiding.

"Yeah! That's right it would be…scary…."

The girl's suspicious brown heightened. Grumpy, she lightly pinched the boy's cheek and he groaned at the sudden sensation. "You can't fool me Izuku. What's wrong?"

Izuku's head dropped further while he rubbed his slightly red cheek. He was hesitant to speak out on the subject. He's already spoken about it with Touya. That and out of all of his siblings Fuyumi was closest to the ice woman the most. He did want to say anything about her that would make the girl sad. He couldn't fool the girl either. The child was never the best liar and Fuyumi was the worrying type. She wouldn't stop pestering him until he said something. So, he did. "Mom always runs from me. Just like now. Why is that?"

His sister looked at him confused. "Mom runs from you?" She couldn't completely see it. Then again thinking back on recent events her mother does usually make a quick exit whenever Izuku appears. She was sure it was nothing. "It's probably a coincidence. Don't think about it too much. Mom loves us all after all. She's the kindest lady I know. I want to grow up to be just like her." Fuyumi assured.

Izuku cracked a smile and nodded along with her. He didn't have the heart to retort her words.

Then Rei finally showed back. She had a small tin in her hands. When she opened the lid, the children saw a treasure trove of neatly sorted cookies. All with their own unique designs. "I found these in the cupboard. Would you like some, Fuyumi?"

Exactly, Fuyumi said yes. She took one cookie and plopped it in her mouth. Distracted by the sweet delight she failed to notice her mother had yet to address Izuku. It dawned on her since the boy sat so close next to her. The boy didn't look at the tin as if he wasn't meant to. It was strange. Then again maybe not. The more she thought about it the more she began to realise her mother acted differently when Izuku was around. She remembers past arguments the woman had with her father. But that was the past. Everything is peaceful now that Izuku has grown up. However, the woman had been more antsy than usual. "You want some too, Izuku?" Fuyumi kindly offered.

The tin then moved to him. Izuku panicked a little when he saw the tin an arm's reach away. He timidly took a piece and nibbled at its edge. "Thank you," he whispered.

Rei smiled. It still felt cold as if Izuku could turn to ice at that very moment. She then put down the tin next to the children so they could reach and looked at her garden. "You two did a good job. The garden looks even more beautiful." She complimented.

"Thanks, mom. Izuku was a great helper," Fuyumi prise trying to get her mother to look at Izuku more. She never really saw it before Izuku spoke up about it, but her mother wasn't looking at Izuku. She barely acknowledged them. It was almost like the way father treated her and Natsuo. That was an unsettling thought. She might be overthinking it. Her mother was a good person. She just had to be.

Yet Rei never gave Izuku a second glance. "Good job," she stated simply not even bothering to say the boy's name. Her attention was completely captured by the beauty of her newly planted flowers. They were long and elegant with bright blue colouration. Their petals were in a bell shape with soft pointed edges. With genuine a smile, she sniffed the flower. It's soft sent giving her peace.

Izuku noticed this. His mother truly did have a beautiful smile when she decided to show it for real. It made him smile brightly too. "You like that flower?"

Rei's peaceful expression shattered. A pair of sharp grey eyes soon landed at Izuku making him jump. Even Fuyumi was stunned by her mother harsh sudden change of expression. "What did you say?"

Izuku's head turtled into his shoulders the best he could. He hurriedly looked away and grabbed Fuyumi's arm for comfort. The girl even dragged him closer to her chest as a protective instinct. "Those flowers are pretty. You looked like you liked them. I'm I wrong?"

The woman let out a curious hum. A found smile curled on her lips. It was the first time Izuku saw such fondness aimed at him. "Your father said something like that to me when we first met. How odd of you to say the same thing." Then her attention turned back to the flowers. She cupped the soft petals and lifted them up taking in their sweet floral aroma. "Yes. I like these flowers very much."

"Izuku," called out a familiar voice. Out from the sliding door walked on Endeavour holding a package in his arms. Not to far behind him was Touya with a couple of bandages on his wrists. The duo soon spotted the little green child. It wasn't that hard to spot since the boy happily rushed over with the call of his name. The hero greeted the child with a nod. "There you are. Your uniform just arrived. You should try it to make sure it fits."

Touya leaded his head closer to the child noticing how dirty he was. "What happened to you?" he asked pointing to his dirty hands.

The small child then rambled on about planning flowers. "Fuyumi taught me how to plat flowers. They've very pretty and need lot of care. But first you need to dig a hole…" The child practically regurgitated very thing his sister taught him in his own childish explanation. It was hard to keep track for everyone but Endeavour. The man seemed to understand the children perfectly allowing him to ramble up to his heart's contents. "Oh, and mom likes these flowers. Did you know that father?"

"Of course," he stated simply. "Why do you think I ordered them."

Rei's eyes widened at the phrase. It's true she didn't order the flowers herself. She thought she was being pushy enough by asking to manage the garden on her own. So, she told her husband to choose the plants. It never occurred to her that it was more than just a coincidence that her favourite flowers were the main one's orders. Even more surprising they were paired with flowers and other plants that were best suited for them.

The hero's eyes soon landed on the two girls by the flower bed. He gave them both a small nod. "It looks good. You all did well."

Rei's expression has still yet to change from shock. Fuyumi on the other had smiled brightly and waved at her father nervously. "We all worked really hard to I'd hope so. Are you and Touya finished with training today?"

There was a pause while Endeavour glanced down at his eldest. He can't really say he planned it to be over that quickly. The sudden delivery interrupted their session so they should make up for lost time. Then again… His eyes turned to his youngest. He was currently tugging at Touya's pants asking if he had time to play. The boy couldn't really answer him but Izuku's big eyes were hard to ignore. So, the hero made the discussion for him. "I suppose I could end it a little early for the day. Why don't you play with your siblings? After we check Izuku's uninform is in order."

"You mean that, father?" Touya asked completely taken back.

"Why not? You've been working hard lately. Besides." His eyes widened by to a doe eyed Izuku now completely clapped on Touya's leg like a monkey on a tree. "I don't think Izuku would let go of you if I say no."

Cheekily, Izuku grinned. He soon found himself being picked up by his older brother. Politely, the older bowed his head to his father and Izuku followed suite. "Thank you, father."

"That's wonderful," Fuyumi cheered while clapping her hands. "I'll go get Natsuo to join us. We can figure things out from there." With that in agreement endeavour brought Izuku and Touya along to check the measures of his youngest uniforms. The had to back track for a second since Izuku almost forgotten his little plushie. He apologies to the angry plushie and kissed his stuff head before running after his brother and father. With then gone Fuyumi turned to her still shocked mother. "Will you be fine without me, mom?"

That was enough to break the trans Rei was in. she turned to her daughter and smiled politely. "Yes, go have fun with your siblings."

The girl quickly hugged her mother and was about to head back inside. There was one thing she had to do first. She turned back for a moment. "Mom Izuku is a really sweet boy. Dad's been a little less scary with him. Touya likes him and I like him too. Natsuo doesn't say it but I know he likes him in his own way. So…" the girl's train of thought stopped. She wasn't sure where she was going with this speech. She just wanted to say something. Even if she just doesn't know if she was saying the right words. The girl could only hope that they mean something. "Thank you for choosing him. Things have gotten a lot more peaceful now," she said on a whim. Then she rushed inside before her mother could response.

Rei stared at the spot her daughter once stood. She then looked at her garden and thought aloud. "Perhaps I didn't make a mistake." She can't deny her family life has gotten a lot more peaceful. Her husband's harshness seemed to dull as Izuku aged. When the small child was with his siblings, he would occasional join them for a minute or two. At the very most watch them while looking through some paperwork. It was small but it was more than the nothing he given before. Yet there was one crucial thing she needed to be worried about. One thing that could change the family completely. The boy's quirk has yet to show. It should be coming at any point this year. Depending on what it was, it has the potential to change everything. Until it does, she cannot let her guard down. "Izuku…" she whispered coldly. "Please be weak."

AN: …well…that was an interesting write. Not my best in my opinion but it was something. This was created mainly to showcase how Rei treats Izuku. As I said before I can't imagine her being anything but passive aggressive until Izuku proves to be a threat. More precisely a threat to Touya's position in the family as Endeavours one and only successor.

Ajmojar – hum I guess that's one way to see it. Also, a little bit of a titbit because why not. Next main event is the final part of Izuku's origin which is the Seiji case. As perusal for me in that fic it has become longer than intended. Also, as much as I love quirkless detective Izuku (still think this is the best cannon option for Izuku if he was quirkless) that pathway doesn't really match with Izuku's main goal for this fic. His personality is similar. You'll probably recognise the 'thing' once it appears. I will be surprised if you don't.

Guest 1- yup. Izuku yeeted out of there fast. Probably a wise choice.

Kelstar159 – that is a question now isn't it.

James Birdsong – thanks perhaps.

Liziliza – Izuku has always been the observant type and it's not like Rei is good at hiding her dislike. As seen here. Also, you're asking a lot of her. Not even Izuku's cuteness can metal the ice around her heart. And Endeavour is just best dad for Izuku. His other kids…not so much.

Papireaz – the child was going to figure out eventually since obvious. Touya and Endeavour are so good to him.

Aditya Ferdiansyah – thank you. this is fairly new as well as odd. I won't blame anyone for being hesitant considering the plot of this fic.

Cyber-RK18 – you haven't seen anything yet.

SpectacularSpidey – I thought we passed sitcom territory. Especially after the 'I'm sorry' event. But thanks. This is a new writing style I'm testing out and I think I'm doing ok so fair. Beside each events kind of bleed into the other as a slowly build up to less fluffy events. Also kind of my usual writing style only in shorter burst.

Guest 2- now this is an interesting event idea. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll do it. mainly because I don't see Touya confronting Rei. He loves her as much as he loves Izuku. He would not want to fight her. He understands the amount of stress she goes through he wouldn't want to add to that. So, he'll give Izuku the affection she's not willing to give. Fuyumi will also join this group thought she's more confused than certain.

Dreamer-Sara – I see. Well at least you're having fun. In a stressful way but fun none the less.

Deadlyrose8090 – oh don't worry. One day I will reach Shouto. It will take a hell of a long time, but I will reach Shouto.

Hi its me – well first of all. I am a girl. Secondly, I don't really mind long comments. I find them fun. Third, this will still be wholesome in the end of the day compared to the truly dark things out there. Some things people come up with. It's just won't be all sunshine and rainbows. There will be storm clouds and salty rain. But the sun will return in the end. At any case thanks for reading.

Knightwalker405 – honestly besides the Touya talk the Endeavour conference was by favourite scene to write. His character progression is much like this fic. Slow but steady.

Persephone-Gaia – yup. A certain blonde as a few words for him but that's for something in the far future. Endeavour is lucky her green friend is nice.

Guest 3 - this may change or intensify once I get to a few events. Endeavour is going to be a fun write.

Next time Endeavour and the kids prepare for battle.
